After the game against Nigeria, you don’t really get closer to Alessia. Sometimes you see that she’s looking at you, but when she realizes that you are looking back, she hurries to look somewhere else. So you just let it be, not wanting to assume anything. After all, she really made clear that she doesn’t want anything with you. She doesn’t even say something about being friends or something.

After Nigeria, you won against Colombia and Australia. You are playing the finale against Spain today, which include being against a lot of your teammates from Barcelona. And some future, as you keep teasing Lucy. You’re actually walking with her to go on the pitch for the pitch inspection and you grin when you see that the Spanish team is already here.

You went to say hi to Mariona and Alexia, who hugs you. You talked a little with Jenni and Salma, and you went to say hi to Ona, dragging behind you an almost shy Lucy Bronze.

“What are you doing?” you laugh when you see her almost hiding behind you.

“Nothing! People don’t know we are together.”

“A hug won’t spread the rumor” you rolls your eyes.

Lucy glares at you and hits you behind your head, making you frown in return. You talk a little bit with them, before Cata jumps on your back from behind.

“Chicca!” she says happily.

The noise makes turn some eyes on you, especially Alessia’s one. But you don’t realize it, busy to make Cata get off of your back. You didn’t realize, but Lucy and Mary make it for you. You talk and laugh a little more with Cata, before heading back in the dressing room, still following Lucy who definitely is your second half in Australia.

You lost. You know that in several weeks or even days the lost will be less hard, but right now you are destroyed. You weren’t able to score, like all your teammates in the team. You are sitting next to Lucy on the ground, looking sadly at the Spanish team raising the cup. They deserved it though, but it doesn’t make your defeat easier.

From the corner of your eyes, you see Alessia. She’s crying and it makes your heart break. Lucy gives you an elbow in the ribs and you frown in her direction.

“You should go to her. It was her you were talking about the other day on the beach, no? ”

You don’t answer anything, you don’t have to. Lucy knows. After biting your lip, you sigh and start to get up.

“You should let Ona comes to you too, Bronzey.”

“I know. I was an ass. I will say I’m sorry if she comes back to me. She deserves to enjoy this moment with her friends.”

You pat her shoulder slightly before going to Alessia. You don’t know what you are going to say, but her closest friends are crying too and you’re not sure that they will help her a lot. You announce your presence to Alessia by placing your hand in the hollow of her back. She turns in your direction, her eyes red and you just want to make her feel better.

“You were amazing today. I know it doesn’t change anything. But you were.”

“It doesn’t. But thank you anyway” Alessia laughs-cry.

You hesitate for some seconds before hugging her softly, your arms very soft around her so she can step back if she wants. But she doesn’t. You hug her for several seconds before being joined by Mary who apparently needs a hug too.

You didn’t want to go to the party after the game. But no one let you have you word, so here you are, stuck on a chair between Jordan and Keira, looking at some of your teammates dancing in the dancefloor. You are a terrible dancer, you’re too happy to stay here with your glass.

Lucy’s missing. At first you thought she was hiding somewhere, being angry with herself, before you realized she probably ran away somewhere with Ona.

You promised yourself that you will drink only one thing before heading back to your room. But Jordan has something else in mind.

“What about you find someone tonight Y/N?”

“A random hookup? No thanks” you rolls your eyes.

You know people imagine that it was your thing for some time, but it was way before today. Even before Alma.

“Oh come on. Look at this one?”

You follow Jordan’s finger who’s pointing at another girl. She seems pretty and a very good dancer, but there is no way you’re going for her tonight. At the end of the table, Alessia is listening attentively.

“Not my style.”

“What is your style in that case?” Georgia asks with curiosity.

You roll your eyes but when you’re finish, they land on Alessia for some seconds.

“Come on, just tell us” Jordan add, pocking at your ribs.

“Blondes. I like blondes.” you mumble.

Well, you like one blonde specifically. Who is at like three meters away from you, looking at her glass. Ella seems to realize that something is wrong, but she can’t ask anything in front of everyone.

“Ok, come on! Georgia!”

Jordan stands up with Georgia, each one taking one of your arm to drag you on the dancefloor. A small “No wait” from you is audible, but the two older women don’t seem to want to listen to you.

Since that moment, Alessia doesn’t see you for like fifteen minutes. She hates the strange feeling in her stomach and the way she can’t stop to look around to see if she can find you.

Georgia and Jordan came back soon after, a happy smile on their face. It makes Keira smile too, arching a brow.

“Where did you let her?”

“In great company” Jordan laughs. “A cute blonde, I think she’s from Switzerland or something. She starts to talk about her last vacation in Fidji and Y/N seems very interested.”

“Oh it’s her dream vacation. She talks about it very often” Keira says. “Where are they?”

Georgia points in her direction and the table follow it. You are effectively in a deep conversation with that blonde. The way she’s looking at you while you are talking about a country you visited yourself isn’t innocent though. Everyone can tell it. And how she’s touchy while you are talking too.

“Someone will have it tonight” Georgia laughs. “Where are you going Less?”

“I need to use the bathrooms.”

“I’m coming with you” Ella says, standing up to follow her best friend.

Really in your conversation with the blonde, you don’t realize Alessia’s distress. How could you know anyway? You are trying to get involve to the conversation and to find qualities to her. You want to get over this situation with Alessia who you think is only doomed to fail.

“So, your single yeah?” she asks you, taking you by surprise.

“Uh, yeah. And you?”

She smiles before answering, raising her glass to her lips.

“I am. Don’t take me wrong, but who is the girl you are in love with?”

You are stunned. Can that girl read in your mind or something? Your face makes her laugh, and she shrugs before talking again.

“It’s kind of obvious.”

“I’m sorry” you frown. “I was really interested by our conversation though.”

“I can tell” she smiles softly at you, putting again her hand on your arm. “But you are not interested at something else.”

“Not really” you say, biting your lip. “I’m sorry.”

“Eh don’t be. At least you won’t have to run to hide tomorrow morning.”

You laugh this time. She’s right, if you had followed her somewhere, you would have left without a word the morning after. As long as something happened between you two, which you’re really not sure about.

“I was hoping to be able to only take one drink before going to sleep to be totally honest with you. But my teammates seem to think that finding someone would be better for me.”

“Well your honesty is valuable, I appreciate it. Maybe I can help you to escape?”

“It would be lovely, really.”

She smirks, taking your hand in hers before taking you somewhere. You realize soon that somewhere is actually to the exit. You don’t see anyone you know and you feel better breathing some fresh air.

“Thank you. I’m going to take a taxi, do you want me to drop you off somewhere?"

“It would be lovely” she answers the same thing that you did some second before and that make you laugh again.

Too bad that you are already head over heels for Alessia, because that girl seems really nice.

When Alessia come back to the table after needing some minute to calm herself, she frowns when she realizes that you are nowhere to be find. Quickly understanding her best friend questioning, Ella asks the questions for her.

“Where is Y/N?”

“She left with the girl five minutes ago. I don’t know where they went but they left in a taxi” Jordan says, wiggle her eyebrows.

“How do you know that?” Ella asks, frowning.

“I follow them.”

Jordan shrug, sipping her drink without any remorse. Just when Alessia thinks things can’t be worse, Georgia opens her mouth to add something.

“They definitely went to one of their hotel rooms. Have you not seen the biting lips, touching hand and flirty laughing?”

For sure, that behavior seeing from the eyes of your teammates who really want you to find someone, it can be seen from another angle. But Alessia doesn’t know it, and it’s too much for her now.

“I’m going to go to sleep” she says, standing up again.

“Do you want me to come with you?”

But Alessia refuse her best friend’s proposal, telling her that she must enjoy her last night here. She even takes the excuse that she wants to call her grandma before going to bed, which she did in the taxi actually, not wanting to have to think about her feelings. And specifically the reason behind them. She’s lost, but she’s scared and jealous. And a little hurt too, but she knows that she can’t feel that way because she is the one wanting to have nothing after your night together.

It's what she’s saying herself, her palms pressed against her eyes during the journey back to your hotel.

But when she passes next to your room to go in hers, she sees the light under the door and she acts before thinking. Knocking hardly against your door, she waits for you to come answer it.

Like the other day, you have no idea of who it would be when you open the door. And like the other day, you are surprised to see Alessia. You don’t open completely the door though, frowning lightly while you look at her.

“Is everything ok?”

“Yeah, I…”

But she doesn’t finish her sentence. She can’t say “I wanted to stop you from doing anything with that girl” or something like that. She knows it. But she doesn’t know what to say and her distress is very obvious from you.

“Can I come in? Please.”

You nod and back up a little to let her come in your room. You watch her looking around when you close the door, but you don’t say anything.

“Are you alone?”

“Did Jordan and Georgia send you?" you ask, arching an eyebrow.

“Not at all.”

You look at her eyes several seconds, but you don’t need much to see that she’s saying the truth. You notice that it’s the first time that you are so close to one other since the morning when she left your room.

“Yes, I’m alone” you sigh, going to sit on the desk in the room. “Why?”

“I just… I wanted to know.”

It doesn’t make any sense to you, but you don’t want to push Alessia. She seems really struggling with the lost from tonight and you sincerely think that she only needs a good night of sleep. You can’t look in her eyes this time because she’s looking at her feet.

“Are you ok, Lessi?” you ask anyway.

“Yes, I’m just… I think I’m a little lost, to be honest.”

She raises her eyes on you and you momentarily forgot how to talk. When she crosses your eyes, you remember perfectly how her skin felt against yours, how her eyes were sparkling when you were looking at her while she was laying under you. But you need to stay focused.

“Lost about what?” you hear yourself ask.

But she shakes her head negatively, biting her lip. She seems to think about something for some seconds and you don’t say anything, hoping it would help her to gather her ideas.

“I need to check something. Can you stay still?”

You nod and you look at her when she come closer to you, very slowly. Her eyes are scanning your face and you let her, looking at her too. You feel goosebumps running on your skin when she strokes your cheek to put a strand of hair back behind your ear. And your heart starts running like crazy when she comes closer, her hand now on your neck and your jaw.

But it has nothing to do with all your senses that get upside down when her lips land on yours. You kissed a lot when you slept together, but this time it’s her who initiate the kiss. It doesn’t last long though and you open your eyes again when Alessia stops it.

“I don’t understand” she whispers.

Her breath is stroking your skin, and you have to try your best to keep focus on the talking once again.

“What don’t you understand?” you breath.

“The way I feel about you. I was so jealous when I thought that you left with that girl, that the only thing I was able to think when I saw the light under your door was to try to stop whatever was happening.”

You don’t understand either, to be honest. You really thought that what she said was meaning that she doesn’t have any interest in you, other than to be friend, at best. But you can’t answer anything, because she’s talking again.

“When I left that morning, you said that it was ok” she starts and you nod. “But was it really ok?”

You sigh slightly, but Alessia is very honest with you at that moment and you have to be too. Today was particularly complicated, it’s really late and you are kind of tired. Both of you deserved to know the truth in all this complicated story.

“I said it was ok because you don’t own me anything, Alessia. I never thought that we will have this kind of moment you and I, to be honest. It was more than everything to me, but that doesn’t mean it have to be the same for you.”

“How can you be so selfless?” Alessia laughs with disbelief.

“What do you mean?” you frown, getting a little bit defensive.

“Most people would have expected something from me after what happened. But you let me leave, ignore you for days without taking offense. I don’t understand” she says again looking at you expectantly.

You shrug, thinking about what you should answer at that. There is no way that you tell her how you are in love with her for years now. You don’t want to scare her or anything, now that you are… the way you are?

“I just care for you, Lessi.”

“I do, too. I’m so sorry for the way I treated you. You really didn’t deserve it; you are so caring and…”

“Hey, stop” you say, taking her hand in yours. “It’s ok. I understand, really.”

“The truth is, I can’t stop thinking about it.”

Her cheeks are bright red and the smile you aborded right now can’t really help her. But you can’t help yourself. Because you can’t stop thinking about it, too. With your hand still in hers, you stroke her fingers before taking her a little closer from you. Her confessions made you a little more confident.

“Me neither. It was… I don’t have the words, really. And I really want to kiss you again.”

She smiles and lean once again, pressing softly her lips against yours. You don’t know how it’s possible, but every kiss feels better than the previous one. You can’t get enough of her. It’s a little bit scary, but you decide to put shout your brain. It’s like if Alessia red your thoughts, because when she talks again between two kisses it’s to say

“We still can talk tomorrow, right?”

Pairing: Reserve Driver!female oc (Alessia) x Lando Norris

Summary: She's a reserve driver for McLaren and was called upon when Oscar had fallen ill, now he's done something to get injured that he physically can't be in the race for most of the rest of the season, McLaren understands this and tells him, it's okay and nothing will jeopardize his current contract because stuff happens. But she's called upon again to take Oscar's place, per his request.

Requested: NO / yes

It started with the race in Australia, Oscar didn't feel the greatest going into FP1, but raced anyway, then before FP2 was determined to be unable to race because of illness.

Oscar was told he wouldn't be able to race for the rest of the weekend, and before anyone could get to a reserve driver Oscar asked for Alessia Maes, a Belgian-Peruvian driver driving under the Peruvian flag.

She had the chance to be a driver before but turned it down saying she was fine driving for free practices and as a reserve driver, not wanting all the glory that comes with being a full time Formula One driver.

When she was told that Oscar asked for her to drive in his home race, she at first refused, but with some convincing she did race in FP3 and for Qualis, ending P6.

She raced on Sunday for the actual race too, many fans were rather confused as to why she was racing and not Oscar, many were mad or upset that Oscar wasn't racing, many happy that a female driver was racing in a Grand Prix.

Before the race on Sunday, McLaren took to social media saying that Oscar was sick and unable to race and that Alessia Maes would be taking his place over the weekend.

When fans learned Oscar was sick, they sent the support to him, and supported the driver they were told Oscar requested.

They learned that Oscar requested her, though his own social media profiles, with him saying, "Sadly, I am unable to race for the rest of the weekend, but the reserve driver of Alessia Maes will be taking my place for the weekend, per my request as she and I have become great friends in the last two years and I have no doubt in her skills as a driver."

So, with fan support, Alessia Maes made P3 behind Lando and Max, P1 and P2 respectively.

After the weekend many fans supported her on being a driver when Oscar couldn't, or Lando.

In Shanghai, Oscar returned to the Grid as Alessia went back into the garage.

During the week of Japan, Oscar was again unable to compete in the race weekend, this time it was some injury he had sustained falling from his bike when he went biking with Alessia and Lando, Lily too.

Fans speculated that Alessia intentionally pushed him off the bike to get his spot, but when the video from McLaren came out the next day after it was announced that Oscar couldn't compete in Japan fans realized that she was ahead of Oscar and wasn't anywhere near him when he fell.

But she did warn about the spot in which Oscar fell at.

It was seen in the video that Alessia came straight over when Oscar yelled out in pain.

Fans realized it was Alessia who told the camera crew to turn off the cameras and help get Oscar to a car.

It was on social media that fans learned that Alessia originally didn't want to drive in place of Oscar and that Oscar told her to.

It was also on social media that Oscar announced he wouldn't be driving for the rest of the season saying, "I will not be driving for the rest of the season, the injury from biking put me out for about 5 months, which would be some time around Monza. The amount of time I would need after to help fully recover is another 2 months, leaving only 4 races left in the season from there. So, I have made the decision that while, I will be in the garage sometime to help, but not drive that I have recommended Alessia Maes as my replacement for the season, a driver that has already scored points towards the championship."

For the rest of the season Alessia did PR and races in Oscar's place, scoring ahead of Mac Verstappen in some places and behind him in other's with Lando taking P1 in many races.

With the final race in Abu Dhabi, she scored P3 with Lando P1 Max P2.

Getting 3rd in the World Championship overall with only one point between her and Max Verstappen.

At the World Championship ceremony Lando proposed to his girlfriend of 2 years, Alessia Maes.

Afterwards many fans went back through videos and photos with her to see if there was any indication that the two were together

Thoughts on Ishan :

1. When he opted out of India's test squad before our series with S. Africa....I knew... I KNEW it will be a long time before we'll get to see him playing for India again.

And then few weeks later Rahul Dravid said in a press conference... He can come back... Just play domestic.... My heart sank.

Here's the thing, I don't blame him at all for taking a break due to mental fatigue.

I fully support his decision as well. He prioritised himself and that's good.

But my dude... If I was your friend, if I was there with you... I wouldn't have let you go.

I would have grabbed his trousers and refused to let go. This is team India. You take one step back and 10 other people are standing right behind you ready to take your place.

Shubhman gill was hyped up so much... Remember his 126 in 63 balls against New Zealand?

But he faltered.

And Today he's in reserve.

Jaiswal is going to be our new opener in all 3 formats very soon. And there's nothing wrong with that. The guy earned it.

Ishan left the South Africa Series and a month later during the india Vs England test Series Jurel was picked and he did an excellent job.

Now imagine... Imagine if Ishan was there instead... If ishan had scored those 90 runs.....he would have made his place permanent.

I'll repeat myself.... I don't blame him for leaving... But he should have thought this through. Especially when a guy like Rahul Dravid is your coach.

Another thing which really hurts me is how so many people complain about him being benched and then dropped but Yaar....there are tons of players who have gone through this.

Even Ashwin was benched. He said in an interview that when his team would win he wouldn't even feel like going in the ground to congratulate them coz of how hurt he felt.

Anyways My overall opinion on this drama is :

1. I support him for leaving.

2. But I hate that he left.

3. A block of ice would be a better coach than Rahul Dravid.

What I want now is for him to focus on his future.

And He can start by leaving Mumbai Indians.

MI was the team who would pick young players, groom and invest in them and make them capable enough for team India.

The MI we have seen this year is no longer that team. It doesn't matter how many reels their insta page puts out, the atmosphere of that team is tense, awkward and a hot mess.

If Mumbai really cared about a future captain as they claimed.... They should have made Ishan their new captain...like how csk and gt did with ruturaj and gill.

But oh well.

Right now... The best he can do is keep himself fit, play domestic and leave MI at THE EARLIEST.

That team, it's atmosphere, the mismanagement and inner conflicts (believe me, they exist) will not help him at all.

Imo, he doesn't need a team to grow. He has developed a good skill set. What he needs now is a stage.

A team like Kkr, RR or Gt will be great for that because these teams don't drop Their players after 1 or 2 matches... Have good coaches, stable environment and a good atmosphere overall.

Ishan is an excellent wicket keeper + batsman and the type of cricket he plays is best suited for t20 format (one day and test also but especially t20).

Whether we win or lose this t20 world cup... This one is the last one for our senior players.

After that, our youngsters will take charge (at least they should).

Yashasvi and Abhishek should be our openers.

Gill, rutu and Riyan would perfect be for middle order.

Ishan, with his explosive batting style, would be the perfect finisher.

Also... This dumb culture of batters not learning bowling (encouraged by this stupid impact rule) that has developed in the Indian team needs to STOP.

Look at Australia and New Zealand's t20 squad. Look at how many all rounders they have.

Look at ours. We won the 2007 cup because of all rounders as well.

Also... We cage our players. We hold them back. A player like Travis head is playing with such ferocity because his style and mindset is supported by his captain, his team and his media.

Meanwhile... If an Indian player attempts to do the same and doesn't make a big score in 2 -3 matches... He'll be benched instantly.

Another thing... If we look up the stats of our players in this year's t20 wc squad...

Except virat, Bumrah and maybe kuldeep ...everyone else is on ram bharose.

When players like n. reddy, ishan, rutu, gill, Riyan, natrajan... will be groomed and given enough opportunities....their aggressive style will be supported instead of criticized.... that's when we will win trophies.

I just don't believe that JE and Z were seriously dating when she invited him to go to Greece. He had just come back from months in South Africa when Greece happened. And we have the videos of Zs friends hyping her up talking about hot girl summer. We also have a friend of someone that was hanging with her that summer saying that she was heartbroken. I just think that JE started texting her after those July 17 articles and was flirty and her friends encouraged her to invite him to get over the heartbreak ("the best way to get over a heartbreak is to get under someone else"). Z is generally distrustful, but was ok with JE because they had worked together for a whole year. I feel like every relationship kind of starts off a little gradually, and then develops into something a little deeper. All I'm doing is looking at the facts.

Could Austin have stayed in Mexico for a little vacay? Sure! But it wouldn't have been because Kaia is still working. Girl, Kaia has been repeatedly spotted out with her friends (even Marcello 👀) all while she's been in LA "working". She is not too busy to hang out (or have sex 👀) with her boyfriend.

In fact, the same day that Austin was spotted in Mexico with Darren, she posted a picture of herself out to dinner with some male with short stubby thumbs. 🤣

I repeat: She is not too busy (imo) to spend time with her bf.

To me, it's just kinda weird to be spending time away from your gf who you "love more than anything" and who is your "celebrity crush", when you haven't seen each other on a regular basis for so long due to work/filming. Think about this, Austin skipped a major national holiday like Thanksgiving with his gf and her family, to go continue to spend even more time with his male friend and director Darren Aronofsky away from his girlfriend. Let that sink in a little lol. 😄

Is it odd for people in a relationship to take vacations with friends away from their significant other? The answer is no, not necessarily. I've seen couples do it all the time. Sometimes, even couples in great relationships need their "me time", Bro Bonding, or Girls Vacations/Nights Out to bond with their friends. BUT -- They're usually not doing that after they haven't seen their gf/bf in months. 🥴 How would you feel about that if you were the gf? 🤔

It will be two months since Austin and Kaia haven't been spotted together. 👀 Does it mean anything? Maybe? Maybe not!

Right now, we're just gathering evidence and quietly observing what's going on. We really don't have to make up our minds 100% on what's going on just yet. All we're doing right now is pointing out the weirdness of this couple. Everyone is free to think about this what they want.

Austin and Kaia might still be together and happy as a clam for all I know lol 😆 All I know, is that his behavior is seeming eerily reminiscent of how he was when he and Vanessa split up, and he decided to stay in Australia to continue work and prep on "Elvis" instead of going back home. 👀

Century Of Love - magical realism, action, romance, comedy

my thoughts so far: it's really fun, quite fast paced (understandably since there's only 10 eps and there are 2 eps airing each week), the chemistry is fantastic, as expected of daouoffroad.

Meet You At The Blossom - wuxia, romance

Synopsis: Jin Xiao Bao, the son of the wealthiest man in the Jiangnan region, falls in love with icy, white-clothed beauty Huai En due to an unexpected meeting. This young woman he sees as his future wife, however, seems to have aroused a lot of enmity. When he comes to the rescue of an injured Huai En, who's tainted by an aphrodisiac, the true identity of this beauty is revealed.

my thoughts so far: i haven't caught up with the latest ep but first two eps have been fun. it's adapted from the debut novel of shui qian cheng who wrote professional body double aka my stand in novel so you can see similar traits of her typical scum ml in huai en. the actors are probably rookie so the acting leaves much to be desired and a lot of room for improvement in that aspect but supporting it anyway since it's the first uncensored wuxia bl freed from censorship limbo.

Currently these two are the only "pure" BL series i'm watching because most of the time i just end up rewatching series i already know and love. I'm always on a casual Nadao/GDH rewatch, so if you haven't seen these before, I highly recommend them, not QL but they're fun nonetheless.

Great Men Academy - magical realism, unicorn hijinks, body transformation, queer

Synopsis: Love has always been a fan of the popular guy Vier of the famous Great Men Academy but has never had the chance to meet him. One day, she sees the mystical unicorn rumored to fulfill wishes and wished for her love for Vier to get a chance. Unfortunately the unicorn interpreted her wishes in a different way and Love wakes up to find herself… as a guy?

my thoughts: i have watched this series more than 20 times in full, and lost count of the times i've casually rewatched certain eps. it's just super wholesome and TANGMO BEST BOY! watch this for tangmo best boi, you shall not be let down by scene stealer tangmo and his 5 minutes screentime.

Bad Genius The Series - academic rivalry, heist, thriller, drama

Synopsis: Lin, a genius high school student who makes money by cheating tests, receives a new task that leads her to set foot on Sydney, Australia. In order to complete the millions-Baht task, Lin and her classmates have to finish the international STIC (SAT) exam and deliver the answers back to her friends in Thailand before the exam takes place once again in her home country.

my thoughts: if someone asked me what is the most perfect thai series i've ever watched, i would choose this series in a heart beat. bad genius the series is one of the rarest case where i genuinely believe a series remake has outdone its film predecessor (worth noting that one same studio produced both). it's got the perfect amount of angst and tension and cinematography style that i adore. if you want a breath of fresh air, i HIGHLY recommend this series for a change from all the other ql series airing.

ps: if you can't find official links to watch the two series above, don't feel bad about watching them in unofficial/grey websites because the original platform they were on shut down 2 years ago ಥ_ಥ they're literally my hidden gems but i don't want to gatekeep them any longer

for upcoming series, i'm thinking of starting The Trainee and I Saw You In My Dream and 4 Minutes. But I usually try to take breaks in-between series I have huge hyperfixation on like I Feel You Linger In The Air or My Stand-In like right now and I just rewatch low stake series I already love like Lovely Writer or some series I mentioned above.

i'm really sorry if this isn't much help because you're talking to someone who rarely watch new series unless they get a random urge and motivation to sit through a 30+ eps lakorn just for one actor. but i hope you found a motivation to watch one of the series i recommended above if you've been thinking about any of them (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

The site is up to date again! This is, for people who don't know, a very very cool archive that a friend of mine created last year, for everything we could find of Daniel Kitson's radio work. And I mean everything. It is very impressive, the lengths my friend has gone to to track down some of these recordings. He has also put large amounts of time into created edited versions of everything on there, that have the songs taken out, if you just want to hear the chat. And he's created Spotify playlists, if you just want to hear the songs. And track lists.

I've helped. I created the edited versions and track lists of a bunch of those older files. I have also spent many, many hours going deep into Google search results, and scrolling through page after page of message board threads from like 2007, in order to find exact dates and other meta data for most of these radio episodes.

Last week, we got an extremely exciting donation of four new episodes. Four doesn't sound like a lot, but it is in this context, as Daniel Kitson did a six-night Triple R Graveyard run from MICF in 2006, and that donation brings our collection from 1/6 to 5/6. From barely there to nearly complete! Also, the Triple R Graveyard episodes are four hours long (they ran from 2-6 AM), so four new episodes is quite a lot of hours.

For anyone who doesn't know, Daniel Kitson used to occasionally get on a community radio station - either Resonance FM in London or Triple R in Melbourne - and talk in between playing music off his own CDs/iPod/Spotify account, in the middle of the night. He did that once in a while from 2005 until 2016. From 2018 until present - the most recent episode being today - he has done the same thing every once in a while, but only in London, and only in the mornings, because he turned forty and stopped wanting to stay up all night, which is fair enough (I mean, there was Trifle in 2020 that was sort of at night, sort of, don't worry about it).

Daniel Kitson doesn't record/archive/podcast these radio shows, but ever since he first started them, fans have been recording them and passing around the files. My friend, who made that website, has been personally recording all the shows since 2018, and putting them onto an internet archive and an RSS feed. For everything before that, the recordings have come into his collection from others who recorded and/or collected them at the time, and he has shared his collection with me, and in 2023 I listened to every single one of those radio files in full, and I spent hours and hours looking up old message boards to find dates and other information about the ones that weren't already organized, and I've finally got a clear picture of it now. I then did the track lists and edits on those old files. And my friend made an entire website and maintains it beautifully because he is so impressively good at this.

There's also a "misc." tab in the online archive, which is for times when Kitson has appeared on other people's shows (most of those are old - as in, before he left his agent in 2005, and when he could still be forced to do publicity - and/or Australian, and he doesn't seem to hate public appearances in Australia as much as in England), and like I said, my friend has done an amazing amount of work to put all those together. An amazing amount of research, digging up all the information that's out there and then tracking down recordings. It's incredible project, overall. And as I said recently, my friend is working on expanding this archive to include information and promo material for all of Kitson's stand-up and story shows - though it was a surprise when we recently learned that Kitson himself is also making a Kitson archive. The un-archive-able man is going to have two archives.

Anyway. I've spent all weekend listening to the four new four-hour episodes, all recorded from 2 AM-6 AM during the Melbourne Comedy Festival in spring 2006. Kitson used to have guests for his Triple R episodes, and these four new ones included the Australian comedians Andrew McClelland and Courtney Hocking, and the Irish/Australian tightrope-walking-along-the-line-between-doing-an-ironic-parody-of-an-obnxious-overly-publicly-affectionate-couple-and-actually-being-an-obnoxious-overly-publicly-affectionate-couple duo David and Claudia O'Doherty (no relation, importantly). All four episode were so much fun.

It was Chocolate Milk Gang-era Kitson through and through. Self-important, in ways that I'm glad he's walked back since, but I still enjoy listening to the more forthright version of him. So much underlying/sometimes overlying competitiveness with his guests about knowledge of indie music, and who has the most of it. Frequent, carefree references to his frequent, carefree trips to record shops with large hauls, and not a moment of concern that maybe these will all end up in a box taking up too much space one day. By the way, my friend's archive is also fully up to date with the six episodes that have aired so far of Kitson's 2025 Resonance FM breakfast show run, in which he takes out CDs that were stuck in boxes in his house, and plays them before deciding whether to take them to a charity shop. There will be more episodes of this, but they've been postponed until March 2025.

Anyway. The new episodes are fun. The old episodes are fun. Spending all weekend switching between listening to Kitson on the radio in 2006, and Kitson on the radio in 2025, was very, very weird. Many things have changed. A few things have not. He still has a disproportionate hatred for songs that fade out. His music taste was so much better before he got into LCD Soundsystem. So much better.

Everyone should check out this archive. Click on a random episode and have a listen. Or look through the track lists and put on something from an era where his music taste mostly aligned with yours (his music taste has changed over the years, in my highly subjective and oversimplifying opinion, from music that was quite good to music that is much less good - but your mileage may vary, some people like LCD Soundsystem, I guess). For people who enjoyed this season of Taskmaster, there's an episode in the Triple R tab with Andy Zaltzman as a guest, from MICF 2007, and it's unmitigated delight. I'm also partial to the O'Doherty episodes, of course, as a CMG fan, but I'm pretty sure those episodes are enormous fun even if you don't share my personal CMG obsession.

Bring on the Blue Mountains! (Week 9)

After returning from Tasmania, it was time for me to recharge again before my family came to town. This meant some more local traveling, as well as catching up on sleep! On Tuesday, once my photography class ended in Paddington, I took to the streets to find a new route to explore which led me to Rushcutters Bay Park along the water just a bit east of the Opera House. The park and nearby pier reemphasized my love for the Sydney coast.

More than the incredible beaches and vast ocean, the coast is full of the greenest parks and forests, houses climbing up rolling hills, and people. People exercising, playing with their dogs, picnicking like there’s no tomorrow, or just enjoying the beautiful weather. Even at night, the cityscape illuminates the water and makes Darling Harbour the perfect place to take a seat and catch up with friends.

Along Coogee Bay Rd, the central road of Coogee beach, I finally got to try a Vietnamese food stop which always has the longest lines in the area and runs out of food before the sun sets. The chicken banh mi I got instantly became my favorite local meal and I got it again only a few days later.

My week ended with a hostel group trip to the Blue Mountains just about 2 hours from Sydney. Known for their vast canyons and incredibly diverse greenery, the Blue Mountains are a popular site for both locals and tourists as they’re full of hikes and unmatched sites. In fact, the most popular hike which we took is called the Grand Canyon trail which takes you to Australia’s own Grand Canyon! I can’t say it compares to the one in Arizona, but it sure makes a mouth drop. The several mile hike winds down into the valley where you’re immersed in a rocky rainforest before taking you uphill to a much drier walk full of completely different flora. The hike exemplified Australia’s endlessly diverse landscape as well as the easy access to nature from the city.

The trip to the Blue Mountains did expose a harsh reality of day trips - the logistics of getting there and back. Tired of taking public transport everywhere, my friends wanted to try Uber Carshare which lets you borrow someone’s car for hours/days at a time without going through the hassle of renting. The problem was that the car we booked was a 40-minute transport away anyway, and didn’t cut down the travel time compared to the train at all. And when it came to returning the car, we spent 20 minutes trying to parallel park it into the exact same spot we got it from despite the fact that the car simply did not fit into the spot. We then realized that the Uber app had a different drop-off location specified which prompted us to try again at this new location, but to no avail. Between the one-way roads and cones in our path, we couldn’t even reach the parking spot and had to park as close as we could manage. Then, as Shaunak went to take pictures of the car to submit to the app as proof of good condition, his phone died! At that point, we suggested the others go home and the two of us set off to find a USB-C charger. Adamant that we didn’t need to go home or find a store where we could buy one (there were none in the vicinity), I led us to a nearby student accommodation apartment building. I was confident that if we asked enough people, someone would help. As luck would have it, the very first person we talked to who worked in the lobby happened to have a USB-C charger right there with him! He was generous enough to let us use it and hangout in the lobby while we waited. 

The logistics of planning trips, between finding housing and flights, coordinating activities, and figuring out how we’ll get around is not an easy task for a bunch of procrastinators, but with each trip and excursion we get just a little bit better. The fact that we haven’t quite planned a week-long trip to New Zealand for 14 people in just two weeks is a little worrisome, but a reality for many students studying abroad. australian grand prix ✩ 02.04.2023

SOOOOO HERE WE FUCKING GO‼️‼️‼️ my journey into f1 has finally started. now, is it because i'm dutch and max is slaying? well, that has something to do with it, but! i actually have to instead thank the other driver in my username for getting me into f1! 🥰🥰🥰

🗓️ march 23th, 2023. i was in bed, trying to sleep, and i simply couldn't. i don't know why - might have to do with recovery symptoms, but i COULD NOT sleep. and my now ex was sleeping next to me, so couldn't watch video's. what did i do instead?

i'm not sure how it happened, but eventually i found myself on the... "crashes in formula one" page. and being the morbidly curious little freak that i am, i scrolled through everything. one of them caught my eyes though, more than any other.

💕💕ayrton senna💕💕 - the last driver to pass away during a formula one race. i clicked on his page, and, woah. it was like something clicked inside of me as i scrolled through it. especially his rivalry with 💕💕alain prost💕💕 seemed so interesting to me... like what happened there...

needless to say: i was hooked. more than hooked, to be honest. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

i ended up scrolling, reading more and more, and i only slept when it was 5 am. the days after that were a blur of FORMULA ONE FORMULA ONE FORMULA ONE. it was genuinely the only thing i could think of/talk about. genuinely felt like i was on cr4ck... 💥💥💥

funny thing: my brother, who had introduced me to f1, wasn't even home at the time i got hyperfixated. sometimes i wonder how that would've gone. 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

so yeah. went kinda (really) fucking crazy the week before this grand prix. of course i decided to wake up at 7 am to watch it 😁😁 god bless. i didn't gaf about fp at the time (smartest thing ive ever done, like, i should stop caring about fp now)

qualifying was just... confusing for me seeing as i didn't understand too much. i do vividly remember how AWKWARD the picture with the top 3 was 😭😭😭 i was very sleepy and i think i accidentally woke up my (now) exin the other room PLEASE 🤣🤣🤣

the race was... i'm both shocked and glad that this was my first ever race. waking up at 7 for it was fun as fuck i can't even lie i LOVE me an early race 💕💕 i was so hyped for it!! i didn't understand much, and i didn't have any friends to chat with yet, but it was fun. if i had been into f1 longer i would've probably been more scared of the mercs leading lap after lap, but i was blissfully unaware AND very very faithful in max... just kept repeating to myself "i'm not gonna worry about it lol" which DID work in the end. i rewatched this race for this post and man. i remember not really giving a fuck about charles dnf because i wasn't THAT much into any modern drivers yet except max LOL. 🥲🥲🥲 and i remember alex's crash being way later than it actually was in the race? maybe because of the crazy fucking red flags PLEASE 😰😰😰 george's car lighting on fire... nyck flopping... my first impression of carlos being his fucking complaint about the SUN i'm screaming... what a crazy fucking race.

after the race i was gleefully telling my dad everything (his ass was NOT waking up at 7 for this which i respect greatly) and shakingly eating breakfast (i was so excited fdjhgdhfgdfh)... and then i realised... 4 weeks without f1 😵‍💫😵‍💫 whilst in the height of my hyperfix!! how did i survive!!!

anyway i'm so glad this was my first race, even though it was a really weird one dfhghdg 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 AUSTRALIA 2023 U WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS TO ME‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

The Karate event in Dubai is on April 20th. Obviously the organisers will be paying for Mike and Jeffs flights and hotels, Jeffs paying for Verica to come from Australia, she won’t pay for her own ticket. To me it makes sense as to why she’s going to Dubai, I mean Jeffs flying 15 hours half way around the world anyway so they can meet in the middle. If he flew all that way and didn’t see her it would be strange.

Also does anyone else think this is all to quick, they literally met for the first time less than 3 weeks ago on 23rd March. After the Tana pod he had his reservations about her but now he’s changed his tune? What 34 year old spends less than 2 weeks dating a girl a decade younger him & then decides to be official after barely knowing each other? There’s more to a relationship than just finding each other physically attractive.

Deep down I think regardless of how Jeff feels about her, he’s in a position where he can’t pump the brakes and take things slower or tell her we need to be friends first as this is so public. He’s in a catch 22 situation where if he did cool things off people would think he’s a jerk and would get hell from h3 audience & upset Verica . And if he continues this situationship he feels pressure to show its going well and to keep Verica happy as it’s obvious she has way stronger feelings for Jeff. Jeffs got himself in a really fucked up position where he can’t be transparent and honest about his feelings. Dammed if he does, dammed if he doesn’t… but its his mess & his decision making from the start, so idk, Jeffs made his bed now he has to lie in it right?

Jeff is a fucking moron to think he needs to please H3, their fans, or his fans at the expense of someone else or himself. It's a fucking fan dating show, people expect it not to work out. He made his bed but he definitely will not sleep in it.

Instead of being honest, he's going to further dig himself into a hole that will make him look like more of an asshole. If he was honest from the start and actually discussed his reservations and why he's so hesitant, people would understand. Instead he wants to talk about it to some 20 year old influencer who is known for clout farming (Tana)? People wouldn't be surprised if it didn't work out with a FAN. His need to kiss ass and be validated by people who probably do not care for him as much as he thinks they do will contribute to his downfall. Let's face it, his career has not been great. He can be transparent and honest but he doesn't have the balls to so what does he do? Clout chase for a quick buck at the expense of his reputation and career.

He is fun using Verica for clicks and literally telling Tana he was unsure AND allowed it to be posted in the video after the week he spent with her? Now he's pulling the mental health card? Cry me a fucking river. He could have avoided all of those comments had he cut it out of the video if his feelings changed but no he chose to leave it in there and get people to talk. He's banning people on Reddit but why isn't he deleting that post discussing his feelings? HE KNOWS IT'LL RESULT IN CLICKS. Views = money. How do you think he's going to fund Verica's economy ticket to Dubai? Using his audience. The mental health card annoys me because Jeff has all the resources or much more resources than the average person to seek help and get it. Does he do it? No, he chooses to abuse sleeping pills and get rid of therapist because he doesn't like his hairstyle. He sounds like an idiot. People struggle to even get health insurance and I don't feel bad for someone who has resources and chooses not to access them yet complain on the internet that his mental health is bad.

Kou doesn’t want anyone to know about them yet, and Haru gets it. 

It’s not like she wants to keep them a secret, she just wants to keep it a secret from Rin, because it’s better to wait until the right moment, she says—to break the news to him gently—preferably over a Zoom call when he’s fucked off back to Australia, where he can’t hurt anyone unless he gets on a plane to Japan or swims across the Pacific ocean.

At first, Haru’s cool with it. Whatever. Their business is no one else’s business, and he’s not one for public displays of affection, nor has any form of social media that requires him to update his status to ‘in a relationship’ anyway.

But sometimes, he thinks that maybe they should come clean for convenience’s sake—and, selfishly, for his own sanity—because it sure as hell would make his life a lot easier than it was right now.

Kou is pretty, he’s known that since they were kids, but now she’s fucking hot, so much so that it was almost guaranteed that she’d be the sole recipient of male attention everywhere she went and it drives him near enough insane.

“Matsuoka Gou isn’t dating anyone, is she? If not I'd like to tap that,” Idiot #1 says as they’re lining up next to him with their lunch trays, and Haru wants to take his own and smack him around the head with it. 

“As far as I know, she isn’t,” Idiot #2 replies. “Kouji asked her out the other week. She said she isn’t seeing anyone, but she’s not that interested in dating right now,” and Haru’s jaw hurts from gritting his teeth too hard. 

Yeah, fuck Kouji, whoever the hell he is.

He has half a mind to track the guy down and tell him that he has Kou’s underwear in his pocket from when he had her bent over the clubroom table earlier that day.

But it’s not random members of the public that Kou is so concerned about—she mostly doesn’t want their friends to know just yet, in case one of them happens to slip up in front of her brother too.

Not long after they got together, she starts a part-time job at Yamazaki Sousuke’s family restaurant, because her mother's a single parent and Rin’s continent-hopping isn’t cheap.

Haru finds himself eating there most days she worked because…the food is good? He supposed? Even though they don’t serve mackerel but Kou is always telling him he needs to eat all of his food groups anyway. 

He’s there with the guys getting a late lunch and there’s another set of Idiots on the table opposite theirs, psyching each other up to hit on the new waitress and he’s livid but he can’t really do anything about it.

“God, she’s so cute.”

“Yeah, I come here at least once a week just to look at her.”

“I’m gonna ask for her number.”

“Go for it, man!”

Kou emerges from the kitchen, balancing two plates on her arm and another in the other hand and is heading towards their table. 

The one bold enough to dare breathe in her presence notices and starts messing with his hair.

“Okay, one beef-culet meal with rice and two chicken curries,” Kou smiles as she sets the steaming dishes down in front of them. “Anything else I can get you?”

“Maybe the pretty waitress’ phone number?” Head Idiot says and Haru slams his cutlery down onto the table.

Seriously?

Right in front of his salad?!

He’s out of his seat and crossing over to theirs before he can think it through.

There’s a dark and ominous shadow looming over his face.

“Hey. I think you should leave the waitress alone and concentrate on eating your food.”

Idiot stands and squares up to him, and Haru is pleased that he’s at least a couple of inches shorter than he is.

“And who the hell are you?”

“I’m her boyfriend,” Haru says bluntly, and Idiot and his merry band of other Idiots look so crestfallen that he relishes in their sunken expressions.

Meanwhile, the entire restaurant has fallen silent, save Nagisa slapping Makoto on the arm and whispering: “I told you so!” and Makoto sighing and handing him a 2000 yen bill. 

(He’s also pretty sure Sousuke behind the bar is texting Rin, but they’ll have to deal with that later).

The following week, they have a joint practice at Samezuka, and thankfully Rin isn’t there by order of Ai who has barricaded him in his room. 

Kou is on the pool deck trying to have a purely professional conversation with their captain, whose intentions—at least from where Haru is standing—are quite clearly unprofessional in comparison. 

“So, what are your plans after this?” he asks, confirming this theory. “Wanna go get something to eat together?”

Kou’s smile dampens a bit but then it comes back, bright and proud and reaching all the way to her ears.

“Sorry,” she says, “I have a boyfriend,” and Haru smirks. 

Damn fucking right she does.

I'm not sure why I stopped writing for so long, but it could be that I was lazy and it could be that I didn't want to think about the rest of the time after that dentist appointment. But I feel like it is fair to catch you up.

So, I invited him to Bekah's first dentist appointment. The dentist's office is just down the street from my house and I didn't think it was a big deal to invite him. I was trying to keep him involved in the kids' lives. Silly me.

So, anyway, we are on our way there, and I'm telling you, it takes like 5 minutes or less to get there. In that time, I picked him up from his parents' house and he divulged to me pretty quickly that he called Zak's commander and reported him for sleeping with a married woman.

I honestly did not believe him, but I was enraged. He was yelling at me and I was trying to keep calm for Bekah and for her first dentist appointment. He was trying to be manipulative and he was telling me to stop on the side of the road and kick him out. I told him I wasn't going to do that. Not on Bekah's day. I wish I would've, I just thought I was being nice. I could never kick someone out on the side of the road. And he is 400 pounds, what did he think he was going to do to get home?! Maybe call someone, I don't know..

Anyway, he told me he was going to call DHS on me and the kids would be his. He told me Zak would lose his job and I possibly would, too. I honestly just did not believe anything he was saying. He is hit or miss with his threats and this seemed like a pretty farfetched threat. Little did I know...

We get to the dentist's office and I am so mad I can't even look at him. They have me filling out paperwork for Bekah since it is her first time and he kept asking me if I wanted him to hold her and I kept giving him an emphatic, "absolutely not". There was one other person in the waiting room besides the ladies behind the desk, and he was an elderly gentleman. He was probably whispering down my throat, but I felt like people in Australia could have heard him. He kept saying if I did not leave Zak that he would ruin me. He would call DHS right then and there and I would not return home with my baby. I told him to "shut up" and that "this [was] not the time or place".

They called us back and he just stared at me with the most angry and terrifying face I have ever seen but every time the hygienist spoke, he smiled. I don't think she ever felt the tension and fear I was feeling. I had to ride back to his house with this guy...

I sat in the chair with Bekah in my lap and she would not let them hardly touch her so we weren't there very long. We drove home in silence. I dropped him off and grabbed my kids and left.

I wish I had called Zak. I wish I would've just warned him.

But he wasn't lying. He wasn't bluffing. He was laying out farfetched threats. He actually did call Zak's commander that day. Or someone that got ahold of Zak's commander.

That was a Monday. Tuesday morning, I was putting together a trampoline on the back deck that the kids' got for Christmas. I was texting Zak and telling him that I could not wait to see him again. We had been "talking" and been on a single date in 2 weeks, but I was enraptured. I was absolutely smitten with this man and how well he treated me. He was gentle with me, he was sweet and paid for everything. He loved my kids and treated them like he'd always known them. I felt so safe with him.

Zak texted me that next morning and told me that he could not longer talk to me. Zak told me that he had called the commander and that he's been commanded to cease all contact with him and I. He said goodbye.

I think I was in disbelief at first. And then utter agony. Which I know sounds absolutely ridiculous. We only knew each other for 2 weeks. But they were the best 2 weeks I had had in over 4 years. I didn't remember happiness like that.

I texted back and said, "For forever?" He never replied.

I called his best friends. I called my mom. I called anyone I knew that had anything to do with the military, past or present. They all told me the same thing: It may be now, it may be forever. But he will not respond to you.

This was war. This was a line in the sand. The end of my rope. The straw that broke the camel's back. After this, I wasn't holding back. I never would've done that to somebody. I never would've ripped that happiness away, no matter how hurt I was. And then to make up lies that I would ever put my kids in danger? With the most safe person on this planet for them to be around?

Hell no. That was it. We were going to war.

Hey J,

Been a hot minute since I’ve directly wrote a post to you, so here goes.

My life has been kind of fucked, so much has happened. My pop died, T hurt me again, uni is kicking my ass but I’m doing well, and my mind is a mess.

My pop was 97 when he passed away, it was his time but I miss him so much. It feels like a missing tooth, forget about it until I accidentally run my tongue over it and remember the hole that’s there.

With T, I went over to his place to see his roommates and long story short, I ended up passing out til 3am, where I woke up on the beanbag with him trying to spoon me. I don’t remember that night at all other than that and it scares me. I felt violently ill the next day, and couldn’t move until 2 in the afternoon, I was so confused and scared. I have to cut him off, I know. I can’t do it right now because I’m using him as a crutch to not talk to you. It’s so bloody hard to not reach out.

Uni is hard, I’m on holidays now but I’m so far behind I have to study. I finished my hardest assessment yet and I think I did well, but I’m not sure. I redid that quiz I got 66% on and got 83.3% - frustrated I didn’t get a HD. One more question right and I would’ve been there. Anyway. I have to spend a lot of time these next two weeks catching up.

I’m still doing placement at the place I wanted to get in, I’m going in today for a group session. I’m excited but nervous, and I can never decide what to wear! I’ll figure it out though.

Anyway, I’m considering that maybe after my degree I might try to get into UniMelb: the best psychology university in Australia. I’d have to move there, but one of my best friends from my old high school may be going there too, so we could do it together (if we both get in). I’m telling myself that I want to go there solely for the prestige and access to psychology opportunities, but I would be lying if I said a small part of me wasn’t thinking about being closer to you. Man I’m insane.
