On a mission for normality

Always run a test run... this shows why: on concentric ring parts, when the seam setting doesn't go according to plan. Because this part is rather small, it only takes about an hour, 2m of filament which doesn't use up a bunch, and so a few of them can be run in the same night.
Normally, it's a good idea to use the 'hide seam' which places the next starting point in a layer at a relatively random position - however this 'stringyness' is also caused by the extruder probably being a little too hot along with not enough extruder retraction - where it pulls the filament back just a little to back off the pressure at the hot end.
The overhangs look pretty good, but would probably a bit clearer if using a slower wall speed since the detail is quite small (on the order of 1mm or less).
Anytime you change the print speed, it dramatically affects the overall time for execution, so it's a trade off with crispness and clarity with overall time spent.
Even though there are simulation options in the gcode creation, it can be difficult to pinpoint where the crossover actually occurs. In cases like these, it's best to make an educated guess in the settings and try again.
Also, it's easiest to pick a main color (black or white depending on what you have the most of) to do test prints, that way you aren't using unnecessary amounts of the final color.

In 25 days I designed and built 3 skate obstacles to be curated in solo showing of my school lobby. I printed a skatepark I designed and mini skateboards for one podium. The other had CNC cut kicker I design with two of my tech decks.
The work explores existentialism, tattooing and skateboarding in semi functional way.

Speaking of the highly improbable...
Just a little more than a year ago I took countless hours spread out over more than a month to recreate the starship heart of gold to 3d print.
I still need to take the individual bodies to turn them into something a little more manageable for physical prints (ie odd overhangs and bridges that might be too long to come out looking well). Because I designed this to be quite large (think about a little larger than a regulation volleyball - about 10" in diameter) - each part will take literal days to complete.
It'll be time to run a power cord to the nearest UPS in the family room, because it would be just my luck that I'd get a power blip ruining the damn thing with only an hour to go.
I still haven't even figured out how I'm going to design the most important part which is the concentric ring that features iconic scenes from the movie... which is an ironic twist on plot considering the ship is in the movie itself. Clever...

This is someone's modified design of turning it into a lamp, so the central part to house the LEDs isn't correct to the model, but looking closely at the ring and you'll see what I mean.
Maybe now is a good time to get this movie prop rolling...
Ignore some of the odd looking cut lines along the main body, these are just artifacts of the CAD software, they won't be in the final print - it has to do with extrusion at weird angles to create cuts in an existing curved surface, even though it's a volumetric body.
