I just read such an amazing BkDk fic, like- y'all don't even understand.

It's called Spider Lily by garden_hearts386 on Ao3. It's 33 chapters and absolutely worth the time. In this one they're all aged up, senior year at a university. Izuku is a stressed art major who has to tutor Katsuki in 19th century art so Katsuki can get that art credit and keep his hockey scholarship. But a MAJOR part of the class is about connecting the pieces they look at to their emotions and Bakugou Katsuki is chronically emotionally constipated. The portrayal of it all is real as fuck, the humor is on point, and the sex is amazing, and the way the fic progresses is everything

To put it simply, It's basically another version of From The Sidelines by suffocatingspring but in college and without the questionable wardrobe choices

I can’t stop thinking about a post from a few years ago that mentioned how unexpected shinkami was, and how popular it became in such a short amount of time

This first interaction happened in chapter 195 (joint training arc) and jumpstarted everything, it is not the only important interaction but it was the first one (I couldn’t find anything before that but if you do please tell me)

It is followed by this minor exchange (in terms of relevance for the shipping)

THEN in chapter 196 we get this

Which in my opinion solidifies the whole thing, but there is still not much to work with

SHINSOU ISN’T EVEN THINKING EXCLUSIVELY ABOUT KAMINARI HERE

And here we have the only other interaction i could find in more recent chapters (very minor manga spoilers if you are anime only)

Then there are some more chat and crack fics, a series shipping kaminari with everyone and fics that treat it as a rarepair so we can’t take them “seriously” (I’m not judging anyone but I have to be a bit selective for this)

There are some fics from before THE CHAPTER, and I think they interacted in the school festival, but I can’t remember and I can’t find it, so I’m taking august 2018 as my starting point

This is the first exclusively shinkami fic I could find

after this one there is a mountain of fics with only shinkami as a pairing. There is more that a work published per day on ao3, I don’t know about other fandom spaces, like tumblr, but I remember I was still anime only at the time and I was extremely confused with this new out of the blue ship.

I am and will always be a Shinsou stan and kaminari is one of my favorite characters, and while it is not my main ship, I get how and why it exists and why people enjoy it. But it was so sudden that no one could have expected it’s instant popularity. I get that we ship characters that never interacted and are not even in the same series, but im not questioning why it exists, im only highlighting how quickly it became popular, it is currently the ninth most popular fic on ao3, and immediately after that first interaction there was an avalanche of new works.

1a has almost no straight ships lol, (not including kamijiro, and dekuchaco because they’re too gay to be straight plus I ship them with other characters more) also Ojiro and Hagakure are both semi boring compared to the rest of the class and hence deserve to be together. Also, somehow, Ojiro just gives REALLY STRAIGHT VIBES

Look, Ojitoru has been one of my OTP next to Kamijirou since I became OBSESSED with this anime back in 2020

I have always loved everything about them together from the canon where they talk a lot and have been seen being friends almost from the beginning to the majority of collective headcanons about them. Like how  they balance each other out or how Ojiro lets Hagakure drag him in her shenanigans. Ojitoru is literally the song “Just the Way You Are” and I think that’s beautiful <3

When we didn’t know how Hagakure looked I was a firm believer that he had a crush even without having seen her because of her voice and personality. That he would be the only one to care enough to know her moods based on the movement of his corporal language. And Ojiro would make sure everyday of his life that Hagakure knows how lucky he is and how much he loves her. And that we know how she looks? MAN he is going to be whip for the rest of his life because she is gorgeous (and please someone give my girls some clothes thanks)

Hagakure has always been supportive and she has tried to make Ojiro understand that his quirk and him are perfect and interesting even if he doesn’t realize it. She would make a point of showing him as much as she can. Also she would remind him how HOT he is, because I’m a firm believer that Hagakure loves how Ojiro looks and she considers him HOT AS FUCK. 

In conclusion, I think that they are too underrated, need more appreciation (and fics we DEFINITELY need more fics) AND PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER!!!!!!

Look, I love Ojikami and I love Shinkami so why choose?? Ojiro has two hands!!! (Well technically Kaminari has two hands BUT details)

In my head the story goes like this:

Ojiro and Kaminari start to date but in an open-relationship situation, which he mostly only uses to sometimes makeout with people and Ojiro really doesn’t mind. BUT then Shinso appears and Kaminri strats to make out with him in EVERY SINGLE PARTY so Ojiro feels somewhat left out BUT mostly he just misses sharing time with his BF in the few parties that he attends. SO he decides to go to the two of them and starts giving kisses to Kaminari from behind and Sparky starts to make out with both of them at the same time. Which ends up with Shinso and Ojiro ALSO making out. Fast forward a few months and the three of them are a unit to the point that it doesn’t make sense that Shinso is not officially part of this relationship… AND VOILA POLYCULE OF 3 (yes I have been meaning to write the fic BUT I don’t have that much time okay :c)

Shinso would be the brain, Kaminari the heart and Ojiro the muscle

In conclusion, they are in love, your honor!!

So i wanna ramble about my Gods AU that I have mainly on my ao3 called 'devoted till death' but I'm also posting the sequels here under the title 'Love beyond mortality'. this is mainly based on greek myth though its not going to be 10000% accurate n stuff lets start with the gods Bakugou is the god of the sun & war Momo is the goddess of the Moon, hunting, knowledge & strategic war Shinsou is the god of sleep, dreams, nightmares Shouto is the goddess (yes I made shouto a girl...deal with it) of the mind and seasonal change. And she is also a princess Izuku is the god of nature Shouta is a demi gorgon (is based on the SA Myths of Medusa) but is also a protector of children Toyomitsu is the god of the seas Nagant is/was the god of love, Lust, desire, madness, wine (think of combining Eros & Dionysus) Now onto the backgrounds of their devotees (basically the ships) Platonic Bakudeku, before deku became a god he used to be one fo bakugou's devotees before something went horribly wrong Kiribaku, Kirishima runs a tavern and is Bakugou's current devotee

MomoJirou, Jirou is male in this AU and is Momo's current devotee. Jirou is a commoner of the village who loves playing music and always practices around Momo's temple

ShinKami, Kami is a prince who's trying to prove his worth and becomes a devotee for shinsou...who is terrified to have a devotee (I mean most of the young gods are to be fair)

IzuOcha, Ochako became deku's devotee to help her parents. Ochako was hand chosen by Allmight for izuku. SeroRoki, Sero is a school teacher who accidently became Roki's devotee when he came with Tetsutetsu to an even Enji had set up for Roki to find a devotee. ShoZashi, Zashi is Shouta's devotee and has been for a long time, they are soul-bonded (in the current devoted till death time line). ToyoMuri, Nemuri is of course Taishirou's devotee. Taishirou was personally assigned by Shouta to protect Nemuri with his life. Nemuri runs a bakery and Taishiro can't stay away from chocolate chip cookies to save himself lol. KeiGant, Keigo was Nagant's devotee until something horrific happened and then became Enji's (lol I will not be spoiling this for ya'll)

Exorcists or 'Heroes'

At this point, they go hand in hand.

In the beginning, people just called them either exorcists or shamans, which was due to their religious and traditional background. However, a few years into that, people on social media during a major incident started calling exorcists their heroes. After that, the title almost became interchangable, though most people give a subtle distinction between the two.

An exorcist is a person who can legally slay spirits under the delegation of a shrine while a hero works more as an exorcist either independently or under the government's Public Safety Commision. However, both still mean the same thing as there are heroes who work under shrines that are still well known or are popular throughout the region. At this point, it's all just a popularity contest based on namesake for many countries.

In the case for Japan, a majority of their heroes are known for how private their lives are. Many of them keep their identity hidden save for the government and official documents, but even then, they have people working around the clock to keep identies blurred throughout the media and the internet. This is speculated to be due to the possibility of targeted attacks by spirits or any mal-intentioned person, but because of the tradition of privacy, most heroes don't know the identity of their coworker unless absolutely necessary.

There are many heroes that exist throughout Japan. The Top 8 are known as the 8 Lucky Gods, the Top 10 are called the Top 10 (very basic I know), and so on and so forth. This is often determined through amount of cases solved, reports, and public sentiment.
