My field notes:
Oh, my gosh! How and/or why does Matthew Mercer look so good on a horse?! Could he not be so perfectly awesome for, like, five seconds?
Laura's cute selfie with the horse. Like player, like character, I suppose.
Sam just vibing on the ranch. Nothing to see here. To be honest, it looks like he's surveying his kingdom.
Wow, Quyen has really great balance to sit on that rail thing.
Matt and Marisha being great as always.
Liam looks kinda hot here, to be honest. Looking at that picture is making me giggle, and I don't quite know why. I saw somebody say that he looked like the cover of a Western Romance novel, and I can actually see that.
Alright, rant/fangirling over for now. Y'all have a great day now! :)

@aflockoffeathers said: Richard - [⛷️] our muses go skiing at a resort
| SEND AN EMOJI FOR A STARTER ! ↳ winter season & holiday based
It was a skill in of itself that Bailey seemed able to get Richard to stop working for fifteen minutes to full lunch breaks. A bit of a miracle that they could convince them into nit working for a day or taking a day off even. But to manage to get Richard to leave his precious Café for a vacation in a whole other state? Really only Bailey could somehow muster such a feat. The rooster knew how to get his way when it came to Richard. Richard could say no but that was never the end of the topic. Bailey had what seemed like a million tricks tucked away under all those feathers of theirs. Sometimes Richard was grateful that his husband was such a laid back bird, because who knows what they could achieve if they were far more ambitious. Instead? their ambitious tend to lean more on 'Richy stop working and be with me.' Turns out the cure for a workaholic are a pair of gorgeous eyes fluttering their way up at you. And lots of whining.
Though Richard had to admit the fresh look of snow on top the mountain tops, stretching out for what felt like miles. Of just fresh untouched powered. The sun was so brightly refeclted off of the flakes lining the ground. Needing goggles to help lessen the glare The resorts had only just opened for the season and they were one of the first set of guest at Winter Park. Richards gaze was more focused on the lift that he was waiting by. For sometime now, even on vacation Bailey found ways to still leisure more than they already did on a daily basis. turning to find his husband finally joining him. Richard expression knitted up in his brow as he slightly hung his beak at them, lifting up the goggles to rest on his forehead. A rare time he worse contacts over his glasses. Hoping that it just made his gaze that more pricing. As his arms firmly crossed over his own blue ski jacket.
"Pollito" He said the nickname evenly "It's past ten" He doesn't waste a second pointing out that Bailey was late. Not that Bailey seemed bother. But of course Richard was very bothered. Richard peered down to his watch next "We are meant to be at the lodge at noon, why were should been up and moving sooner." He goes to express, already he could feel the day just being near about over.
Well maybe only to Richard ten in the morning felt like half the day being gone and wasted. It was still pretty early in the day despite his own thought process here. Even on vacation Richard liked to keep to a sort of schedule or he just didn't know what to do with himself. Of course he dose note how Bailey doesn't seem too worried about these facts. But Bailey was the opposite in fact. Which had the eagle audibly huff suddenly as he turned to look away from Bailey looking over to the line for the ski lift they should make their way over to now he guesses. Once again running through a mental timer in his mind. Mentally trying to adjust the days plan he set up wondering how they could make it still work slowly getting lost in his own thoughts when he feels Bailey hold on to his arm.
"Yes yes I know I know" He relents finally, reaching up to rub at the space between his eyes. "I don't know how to relax though." He admits to the one person in the world who knows that better then anyone since they put up with it the most. Richard feeling the tiny bit of guilt over. because well that can't be all that fun for someone like Bailey to have to deal with. He does look over to his husband though and offers a faint smile, it's hard on him to not stress on the mental clock in his head. "I think you be proud of me though, I didn't even check the sale from last night." He did check on other things but that didn't need to be mentioned right? From the look on Bailey's face now? "Okay it was the only thing I didn't check on." Richard folds to explain. Your really can not take him anywhere with out work slipping into his mind. Sales, and other metics were just always on the forefront at times.
But Bailey is always his favorite distraction. "How do somehow look twice as fluffy than normal?" he remarks assumed on Baileys choice in winter wear for himself. "You look like that one cake treat, a sno ball" he recalls its not really a tease at all but maybe there is a hint of playful teasing happening here. Leaning down a bit as he moves in closer to his husband, slightly feeling over the jacket as he hums to himself "Hmm is it very warm though? It's cute and very you of course but I wonder if it severing the function of keeping you warm?" Feeling over the materiel between his fingers as he hums a little and shakes his head "Nope clearly to thin." Moving his arms around Bailey's shoulders to pull them in against his side as they made their way up to the lift. "I will just need to keep you nice and close, you know for warmth. It be awful if my poor dear and forgiving husband" and now the reason for the sudden charm was out "Got sick on our lovely family vacation he worked so hard to convince me to take time off for." And hopefully forget about the fact Richard still didn't fully leave work behind.
Now the tables had turned with Bailey the one able to set looks and minor annoyance towards Richard. Even as the lift chair came up for them next and took them slowly, very slowly up to the top of the run they had picked out earlier to try out. This was going to be a long ride, "In my defense" and the start of his shovel hitting the dirt for his grave. "if you had stuck to the itinerary and time table I spent the past two weeks setting up for our trip I wouldn't of had those spare minutes to grow curious and look."
Richard explains as this excused it at all, but habits are hard to break especially for one who admitted he doesn't really know how to just relax. Something Bailey wasn't just know learning in all fairness either. As they were lifting up higher and higher into the air Richard feeling he had a sound argument for what happened of course he dose known its not going to get him out of it. Bailey could slept the whole day aware and he still be getting the same reaction he knows that for sure. If there was anything Bailey ever seemed to get after Richard for it was the working too much habits he had. Which was a big part of why he loved this cute fluffy and slightly huffy rooster so much. "Look you can be huffy that I worked slightly" Toning it down as if it help his case, "and I can be huffy that ruined two weeks of planing on the first day" as if Bailey had committed the worse crime between the two of them.
"Or" Richard goes to suggest clearly a little deal between them as he scoots in closer to his husband. Arm moving to hold around their waist "We kiss and make up now" As if to make his point stick out more he leans down and lets his beak slightly nuzzle against their cheek. "and keep my poor Pollito from becoming an actual snowball over the cute little marshmallow kind that are sweet and fluffy as can be?" Richard offers, pretty postie Bailey will agree because what could be more enjoyable then being nice and cuddly with his husband? and just in case Bailey bratty side was acting up Richard sighs "When we get back to the room later i'll let you change the password on my computer again alright?"

A Christian camp in Colorado has filed a lawsuit seeking to prevent the state from forcing it to violate its religious and commonsense beliefs about biological sex.
Camp IdRaHaJe, which derives its name from the song “I’d Rather Have Jesus,” filed a lawsuit on Monday, May 12, to stop Colorado from forcing it “to surrender its religious character, beliefs, and exercise to maintain a license to operate in Colorado just like everyone else.”
The camp, which is being represented by lawyers with Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), has operated in Bailey, Colorado since 1948. It has maintained a resident camp license in...

luke hughes

March 12, 2025
Abby pulled her hoodie tighter, sunglasses shielding most of her face as she weaved through the arrivals terminal at Newark. She kept her head down, backpack slung over one shoulder, suitcase in tow. A few heads turned—someone whispered something that sounded like her name—but no one approached, and she didn’t stop.
She wasn’t here for selfies or fan videos. Just three quiet days. Three days to make sure her big brother was okay.
The automatic doors hissed open, the Jersey air cool and gritty compared to Nashville’s humidity. She spotted Cody instantly, parked at the curb in a battered rental SUV, window rolled down and sunglasses on like he was trying to go incognito too. Abby grinned and jogged over.
“This is the car of a man in crisis.” Abby said
Cody laughed, getting out to hug her.
“Shut up. It’s temporary. Like everything else in my life right now.” Cody said
Abby hugged him back, holding on for a beat longer than usual.
“You’re good though? For real?” Abby asked
“I’m… getting there.” Cody said
He took her bag and popped the trunk.
“It’s only been five days. Practices are solid. Haven’t played yet. Still adjusting.” Cody said
“You’re not living out of a hotel room, at least.” Abby said
“Nope. Crashing with Luke Hughes for now. He had space and—well, Jack’s still in Colorado with the shoulder, so Luke didn’t wanna be alone. I think we both needed the company.” Cody said
Abby raised a brow as she climbed into the passenger seat.
“You and a Hughes brother. Sounds dangerous.” Abby said
“He’s a good dude.” Cody said
He merged into traffic.
“Low maintenance. Very... clean. Like, suspiciously clean.” Cody said
“Does Bailey know you’ve been adopted by the youngest Hughes?” Abby asked
“She thinks it’s hilarious. She’ll be out in a couple weeks once everything’s settled. Packing up the house, getting the dog squared away.” Cody said
Abby nodded, watching the skyline shift through the window.
“I’m glad. I was worried.” Abby said
“You always worry.” Cody said
“Yeah, and I’m usually right.” Abby said, voice quieter
Cody didn’t argue.

Luke appeared from the kitchen just as they stepped inside, tall and comfortable in his own space, a glass of water in one hand, barefoot, hair still wet from a shower. His Devils practice tee was slightly wrinkled, sleeves pushed halfway up his forearms, and his expression was warm but curious.
“You must be Abby.” Luke said
He crossed the room to greet Abby.
“Guilty.” Abby replied
She shifted her weight as Cody dropped her suitcase by the wall. Her tone was light, but she didn’t move closer.
“Thanks for letting me crash for a couple days.” Abby said
Luke offered his hand, easy smile in place.
“Anytime. It’s nice to meet you. I’ve, uh—heard a lot.” Luke said
Abby raised an eyebrow as she shook his hand, keeping the contact brief.
“Hopefully good things.” Abby said
Luke laughed lightly.
“Mostly. Jack said you made him do a TikTok at All-Star last year, and he hasn’t recovered since.” Luke said
“I did the hockey world a favor. Jack has too much confidence.” Abby said
Luke grinned, but something flickered in his eyes—just for a second. Something knowing. Abby clocked it instantly. Ah. So he’d heard.
She didn't say anything, but her posture shifted the tiniest bit—a fraction more closed off, arms folded loosely as she leaned against the back of the couch. Luke didn’t mention it, but she could feel the subtext buzzing underneath everything. The weight of being known about without really being known. He didn’t bring up Cole. Smart.
“Well.” Luke said
He turned toward the kitchen.
“The guest room’s all yours. Cody’s still hoarding my Netflix account and eating all my protein bars, so feel free to steal whatever you want while you're here.” Luke said
“Careful, I might take you up on that.” Abby said
Cody rolled his eyes and tossed his water bottle into the recycling bin with unnecessary force.
“Can we go one conversation without me getting chirped?” Cody asked
“No.” Abby and Luke said, at the same time
They glanced at each other. Luke smiled. Abby didn’t return it—not quite. She wasn’t trying to be cold. But she also wasn’t ready to pretend hockey players didn’t make her skin itch a little right now.

Bertha Pitts Campbell (June 30, 1889 – April 2, 1990) was a civil rights activist and one of the 22 founding members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
She was born in Winfield, Kansas, but spent most of her childhood in Colorado, where she lived with her grandmother, Eliza Butler, a former enslaved woman who worked as a laundress.
She was the only African American student enrolled in Montrose High School when she graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1908. Upon graduation, she was offered a four-year scholarship to Colorado College. She declined the scholarship and chose to enroll in Howard University in 1908, where she received financial support from the Congregational Church. In 1913 she co-founded the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and took part in a women’s suffrage march in DC. In June of that year, she graduated cum laude from Howard University with a BA in Education. She taught for two years in Topeka.
She married Earl Pitts, a railroad worker, and government worker, in 1917. The couple spent some time in Colorado and moved to Seattle in 1923. They had one son, Earl Jr who was killed in an accident as a baby. Earl Sr. died of a heart attack in 1954.
In Seattle, she was a committed activist and organizer. She was a charter member of the Christian Friends for Racial Equality, an organization that worked to expand housing and other opportunities for the black community; she worked with the Seattle Urban League and was the first African American member of the board of directors of the YWCA of Seattle-King County. She was an active member of the YWCA for 53 years.
At age 92, she led 10,000 members of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority in a march down Pennsylvania Avenue in DC to commemorate the participation of the organization in the suffrage march of 1913. Having long survived her husband and son, she spent her final years in a Seattle nursing home and died peacefully.
In 2018 and 2019, the Northwest African American Museum featured an exhibition on her and Mona Humphries Bailey, the 17th president of Delta Sigma Theta. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence #deltasigmatheta
