Halfway.
I am officially halfway through chemo - I have completed 4 rounds of Adriamycin and Cyclophosphamide, and survived the havoc it has wrecked on my body. I feel weary, not just physically but also mentally. It has already been a long haul and there is a lot of fight left to fight. But right now, as I lie awake in bed at 3am because I was so tired that I slept at 9pm, and also because I drink so much water that I have to pee like a racehorse in the middle of the night, I am allowing myself to feel victorious. I made it through the hardest part of treatment. My body fought hard for me every time it was pumped with poison and more cells were killed. My nail beds darkened, my nose hair fell so my nose was constantly dripping, my brain was only half working most of the time and the worst part of all was being incapacitated by tiredness, in all it’s various forms.
There is chemo-induced tiredness the first week when you cannot get out of bed and you don’t even have the mental energy to read or watch a show. Then there is the extreme fatigue related to low white-blood cell count exactly one week after chemo which feels like complete and utter depletion - your brain is back online but your body has been zapped like a character in a video game that is on its lowest energy bar. Finally there is the cumulative effect of all four rounds that makes you feel like you have aged a million years and need to sit down after doing anything. This is the worst one because I don’t know when it will get better and it means I can’t play with the kids the way I used to. I’m missing out on their summer: trips to the pool, playing in our new backyard, exploring the town, fruit-picking, play dates, day trips, beach trips - I can’t do any of the things we did last summer and it stinks. Whatever precious energy I have I reserve for them and I am so grateful on the days I feel well enough to even spend a few hours a day playing with them like I used to.
So here is my list of advice for anyone else who has to go through AC. (This may be TMI for anyone else!)
1. The nurse will tell you to take either Zofran or Compazine for the nausea. Take both! Be as aggressive as possible with the anti-nausea meds. I also started taking Omeprazole twice a day for the heartbearn and acid reflux after a terrible Round 2. Even then, be prepared for constant stomach discomfort. I had to change the way I eat to smaller frequent meals because it felt like everything I ate was about to come right back up.
2. There will be days you have diarrhea and constipation on the same day. Your digestive system will be a mess, keep track of your BM (bowel movements) like they tell you to. Err on the side of constipation because diarrhea sucks. I started off taking Senna every night but ended up with diarrhea. Then I only took it on days I didn’t poop.
3. Definitely suck ice chips during the Adriamycin infusion so you can preserve some feeling in your tongue. And invest in a big insulated water bottle with a straw. Your body wants you to hydrate and I was constantly thirsty and didn’t feel like drinking anything but ice-cold water which I sipped all day. I hate getting up in the middle of the night to pee and find it so hard to fall back asleep so right before bed I would use my Biotene dry mouth spray instead of drinking water and some nights I actually slept right through.
4. You will spend a lot of time with your thoughts as you lie in bed and the rest of the world goes about their business. Make them happy ones. Try not to Google yourself into a rabbit hole of depression with search terms like Metastatic Breast Cancer (1 in 3 cases of breast cancer end up metastatic, FYI.)
5. I love food so I would eat even on days I wasn’t hungry. It gave me a sense of normalcy to eat with the family. Texture becomes important when you start losing your sense of taste, I felt like eating crunchy foods. Fruit is great for hydrating when you don’t feel like drinking, yay for summer watermelon. You may want to over salt your food to compensate for taste, try squeezing limes instead. Eat whatever you feel like and whatever makes you happy not what you think you should be eating or what people tell you you should be eating. You have the rest of your life to make lifestyle changes. Right now you are in survival mode.
6. Aromatherapy. Your sense of smell changes dramatically so get things that make your room and your body smell nice. For me this was possibly the worst side effect. My own body smelled terrible to me. The smell in my room made me nauseated. I can’t explain it but everything smelled unfamiliar and toxic. Candles helped and so did being outside in the fresh air. Neutral smelling body products like talcum powder or kids Honest body wash also helped.
7. When you’re lying in bed all day, it’s hard to get a good nights sleep at the end of the day. Get some exercise if you can. If not, smoke some weed or have melatonin. It’s no fun being awake alone at night. See 4 above.
8. Friends. You need them more than you think you do. Text, call, visit, reach out. Your family is amazing and you couldn’t do this without them but no one can lift your spirits or distract you like good friends can. Work also helped me feel normal. There is a time for wallowing and then there is a time to just get on with your life.
9. Your newly bald scalp will feel sensitive. Buy some caps because it feels cold when you’re used to having a full head of hair. Buy a neck pillow because you will be sitting up in bed a lot. I hate my wig because it feels like I am pretending to be someone I’m not. You will wear it for others not yourself. Mosquitos love bald heads.
10. Love yourself. Love your body. Love your fighting spirit. If I could go back and tell me pre-cancer self anything, it would be that she is perfect. The extra pounds don’t matter, the house doesn’t have to be clean, the kids can watch all the TV they want, it’s okay. Self-care is not indulgence, it’s necessary. Treat yourself as you would treat the most important person in the world, because you are.

One Piece Chapter 990 - Initial Thoughts
Well, okay then!
The new chapter FINALLY gets translated so I get check it out, both sides are teasing, pleasing and treasoning Something big is bound to happen in 10 chapters time though, OP1K is closing in on us quick and fast. Spoilers for Chapter 990, Support the Official Release
YES POUND, the receipts are enough to bring him on the ship, the family is complete!
Sasaki’s loose though, mainly thanks to BM’s Delphinium, it’s interesting though, their friendship seemed legit so this cuts deep for Sasaki - he’s not bothered about the Wano stuff as a whole, he just wants payback for himself
Thankfully, the Su Long Minks are able to kick most of the Ass, only Jack is really holding them off thanks to his durability as the Scabbards and Kaido still stare each other down (bit of an odd tactic, especially since Su Long has a time limit until death)
The Teases though! Inu and Neko stop Kin’emon from attacking, in shadowed out Su Long forms, so they could have the honors of taking on Jack
King just echoes my concern about Queen screwing up so much, but interestingly Queen doesn’t think that Babanuki was swayed, Tama’s DF still allows a wildcard to come into play
King though is rallying the Flying Six, meaning this will be some of the bigger fights
I TOLD YOU HAWKINS WAS ALIVE! Though shame he’s not the guy with Law, his buddy though Drake is there with him and there is a note that Hawkins could easily bounce since he doesn’t want to be here.
Here’s the interesting part though, 1% - that’s the probability of ‘that man’ being alive by the morning. But who is that man? Drake could easily think it’s Luffy (or ‘Stealth Black’) but what if it’s not, what if it’s Kaido? or Jack, or Queen or King? Maybe the 1% is Luffy but that’s his chance of Dying? The odds are nondescript, but Hawkins should know how Luffy’s avoided death, even in Marineford his cards would not be certain of Luffy’s death after all
Also gotta talk about that BIG ASS HELMET behind Hawkins, first the sword now this helmet, was there some Ancient Giant Shogun or something?
Back with the enjoyable Ulti/Pay-Pay stuff though, I really hope we see them again. But seems that the Yamato bounty has been called off for them and all focus is on the raiders.
Pay-Pay just give her the damn Piggyback ride!
Who’s Who is making his moves though, asking Drake to take down his primary target: Queen. Hawkins looks at his cards though, did his predictions change?
The Oniwabanshu do provide a proper challenge for the samurai prisoners and yakuza but old Mega Forehead leaves the battlefield, and it is noticed
Good on the raiders to at least try and pave the way for Luffy against a Number, but Zoro and Jimbei are quick clean up crews
Thriller Bark mentions again, I feel like Moria is still set to show because of this
Zoro being a bit bloodied seems a bit worrisome, given how the rest are unharmed, including Sanji who was drilled into a building by King
LUFFYWHYAREYOUINGEARFOURTHYOUSAIDTOCONSERVEENERGYNOTWEAROUTYOURHAKIFORANOTHERTENMINUTES!
I had to look at Myo-o (Fudo Myoo) for a reference and...I kinda see it? I guess Hyou isn’t used to this much Haki coating and steam emanating from the body
Alas the twist belongs with Drake, Who’s Who led him straight to Queen because they knew he was a traitor
I’m conflicted by Hawkins as well on this, it seems he’s testified information that points to Drake being the one that freed Law - and he would be sore about that given how he got cut up - but surely this’d also be an out for him? Maybe he’s playing a longer game, making sure he knows what Drake’s plans are before joining in on them?
I still don’t think it was Drake though, the guy was wearing a kimono and the wooden sandals wasn’t he? Sure it could be a disguise but why hide that from us after we knew he was in SWORD?
X Calibur, yes. Just, yes. I was hoping he’d have an attack like that. Though it is a shame that Luffy couldn’t take out 2 Numbers alone
Drake sees his opening though, another unlikely ally declaring themselves! This one though thanks in part to Coby, who’s pro-Luffy dialogue convinced Drake to make a gamble on it.
‘Pirate Alliances and Betrayal go and in hand’ was the theme that carried over into Wano as we (still) fear the stability of Law and Kid’s working with Luffy, as well as whether the Straw Hats will be forced to sacrifice the samurai to defeat Kaido. But right not the treachery is unravelling for Kaido’s forces with Drake. It’s interesting that Drake thought he could escape Wano but decided to stick to the mission, Hawkins as glad as I am that he’s alive does make me concerned, is it just bitterness or observation. I hope the latter partly because of my 5 Captains theory. The pace of the story is jam packed because this whole chapter is just moments after the last, the battle is still in its infancy as Inu and Neko have just turned Su Long - and they refuse to show us STILL! No Carrot this chapter but the focus has mainly been away from the crew as a group aside from Zoro and Luffy, looking more at the enemy side as we prepare truly for the tower climb, the Flying Six will have to fight the rest of the crew if they are to push their way up to Kaido, who’s basically just chilling, but Jack’s about to be wiped out so if Oda does show it that may be a little cathartic Painfully, another week break, it was only 2 weeks since our last one D: Oda I know you’re giving space for the Volume Release as we feast on the juicy SBS content and whatever Sanada says, but the 1000th Chapter is so in sight it hurts to delay!

don’t think there is a woman on this earth that I think more beautiful than @Shakira… randomly heard "ojas asi": one of her songs- sounds exotic…just made me think how much @Shakira stands out in appearance...
and now to get serious, to express the other side of my scale, with some thinking that I'm going to share -
---
In my request to end “the situation”, “the phenomena”, I keep saying tell me what’s going on to help me end it. That’s one thing I lack: a witness or someone to be this kind of friend to me. My request is with urgency. The orchestrators may say, “it’s almost done” or “ we already spent more than a decade, why not a little bit longer?!”
They maybe even say “get involved with what, we the orchestrator, say, and the “phenomena” will end sooner .” You cannot clap with one hand alone, so don’t be the corresponding hand to the orchestrators hand, to make a clapping sound. Do not be their army. Act by not acting, or simply refraining from action-probably what concepts such as inaction vs. action vs. nonaction get into.
In the Bible, it says,
59 He said to another man, “Follow me.”(BL)
But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”
60 Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”(BM)
61 Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.”(BN)
62 Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
Point of this passage, in the time of urgent calling from life or when there is a need:
We, as humans, will always have excuses. But “the time being now” is a concept that is so serious, when Jesus hears a man saying “he’ll be right there, I just want to attend to my dad’s funeral rites”, Jesus himself says (in what may come off as insensitive to impulsive human emotion), that, “let the dead worry about the dead, and you, do what needs and must be done. “
End this “phenomena”, “this situation”, now.
If you, the high minded American orchestrators, have a problem following the request of a lowly Indian, know that my request is dictated through the directives of the Golden Rule.
Jesus gave us the Golden Rule, but in being ANY follower of God, that would make us a “Champion for Justice.”
From the Christian perspective, it’s said:
Matthew 10:34
“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
What Christ is saying is, He came to teach us insight, to challenge established rules and traditions and to get us to go beyond them. The path of doing what’s right could put us in wrong terms with family, could get you jailed. But followers of God can’t just cozy up and be apathetic to what goes on in the world. Through your words and influence, you need to fight deceptions and evils and injustices of this world with the figurative sword of the might of your will power and compassion and conviction.
So, on the basis of the following two Biblical verses, you might’ve heard:
Mark 13:6
Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many.
Matthew 24:5
For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.
I seem to be in some mind reading/and the possibly secret mind control cr*p.
Regarding the Christ, it’s said many will pose as Him, for the purpose of deception.
Here’s a scary reality, in knowing aggressive power hungry American mentality, that can happen. There is one band of orchestrators who very well could take over my body, not just mind control my hands to go up and down or allegedly read minds. Whether they’ll allow this message to seep through their filters, God knows. In Sha Allah - God willing- in Arabic- my words will reach you before the end of this.
For me being me, people may feel one way or another, toward me.
But with respect to me, know me and not judge me, based on the content of my character, my words, my actions…not even my alleged secret thoughts. You need to be direct with me to pick up on these things. Something very sinister could take advantage of my influence, posing as me, with my appearance, for their own selfish agendas.
Going back to Christ with the present day reality I am facing, it’s said many will come, saying they’re Christ. We have pictures of Christ, but the reality is, no one really knows what He looks like. ( Based on Middle Eastern appearances 2 thousand years ago, he may have had a tan, may have been about 5’5 in height-but don’t know for sure/different story/deviating from main serious point…) How will you recognize God, the Messiah, or Christ? Perhaps that why you shouldn’t get lost in names or various labels like doctor, police or whatever. Appreciate the company before you, through the Golden Rule. Be your best you, learn what you can, see not just with your eyes but through insight, practice the Golden Rule, and be mindful of the times. You are a Child of “The God” (capital G), making you little gods (small “g”) made in the Image of God.
Act with compassion, authority, dignity like a god,
and treat ur neighbor through listening/donation and dedication of your time/your verbally expressed perceptions or kindness or expression of a good word…
Regarding true insight and being mindful of the times, especially these times where under drunkenness, figuratively expressed through naivety and innocent smiling faces, living as though in paradise, taking part in what will inevitably/ultimately happen to them and their loved ones, through the completion/perfection of the orchestrators agenda- like something from the book, “1984”…these are the times of the “thought police”…and you foolish people are making it happen under the American corny sentimental notion of “preventing it from happening.” If the project is completed, it will lie in wait to tempt the orchestrators for use. Simply existing is a temptation. I’m a kind of serious that an American thinking they’re in paradise will never comprehend, when I say the following: “do not partake in the project/situation/ even if it means I rot or ultimately die from direct involvement or extreme mental exhaustion.” To my family, my parents: if Mary, the Mother of Christ, can endure the crucifixion of her Son, if the Apostles can get arrested and freed from their cells through Angels, please do your part of giving value to my suffering and not partaking in the success of the orchestrators project.
In Matthew 16:1-3:
The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven.
2 He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.
In our times in America, we live an age where the orchestrators: government officials, military, law enforcement, and whoever else with earthly power to engage in a mind reading/control project, are knowingly or unknowingly engaging in deception of the masses “to accomplish their ends.” They tell the crowds, we’re helping a defenseless/sweet boy. They tell the families, we’ll make him big. They get my age group, particularly females to behave one way or another. What better way to complete and conceal a covert government/possibly military project that in broad daylight with - no offense- overly joyful kid like voices doing the narration and handling P.R. stuff with the public? They probably picked my family for this, after studying their naivety and innocence and realizing they can be manipulated. I mean I pick up on some obvious flaws right off the bat and ur telling me that top level people doing mind reading/control stuff, didn’t realize any of it?- I mean is that plausible deniability that they try to cover up with? I.e. making the family more American and solving familial problems? If my Family has any flaws, the universal fix to all of it is my success, progression, and well being. In the spirit of the situation/project being done in broad daylight…I mean come on America, come on “the world,” see the American sinners create a situation where my own family cannot talk to me about the situation for more than 10 years!!!. I’m not allowed to talk to them. The world won’t tell me what’s going on and act on the instructions of false American gods. If I make any attempt to talk about what transpires, I’ll be labeled mentally ill and/or drugged-this while everyone is led to smile about the situation in public, at this atrocity, that has been going on for more than “A Decade. “The American infidel of orchestrators are focused on completing their project, despite my suffering and health crumbling parents. When all is done, they may stop filtering what I’m saying, show you what was said by me (if even that! ), and save their a*ses by blaming America’s inability of being direct to one of their fellow citizens, or from a Christian perspective, their neighbor.
Have you ever seen anything so complex and conniving…For the American gods and their following, lay down what’s been done, what’s transpired, or maybe there’s a pattern to all their instructions…do I lie? Am I disillusioned?
this not even about interpretation. In broad daylight, look at the literal kind of things occurring. By the Will of God, let justice prevail.
The orchestrators ultimately give the promise of giving me the world. When I first came across the idea of being handed the world, I got the vibe of it ringing along the lines of Satan himself. Positions in life and women are cool, but at what cost? You literally are offering me the world to screw with the sanctity of person’s mind, I.e. the mental Kingdom of God…I mean the chaos the orchestrators have caused is indigestible.
Now I don’t think the orchestrators have the insight to see this much detail, buts it’s like Satan himself tempting Jesus with offering of the world, in, if I remember correctly, His 40 days in the desert.
What will the orchestrators do in completing their mind project, while cleverly passing it off as a show of being cute with finding what a guy is thinking.
-I kinda want to say to the orchestrators,”you tricky tricky b*stards” or “ you f*in son of a b*tch”… In seeing my words from today or yesterday, they may calm normal reactions to atrocities, lighten the mood, by making a joke out of all this or saying things casually like "oh -
-now he's mad", or "oh he wants an army" - isn't that adorable of sugary sweet Indian man?" -
The orchestrators will use their project to enhance their military, in warfare, to subdue the enemy, and things like that first and foremost.-
With the time they wasted on attaining gifts reserved for the Enlightened of God, through science, the orchestrators could’ve solved male pattern baldness or type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Recently I saw a woman whose son suffers from low blood sugar. In just solving this mother’s sons problem, would the joy you bring her, equate to enhancing your armies?
I have a lot of things floating through my head, and these kinds of philosophies are among them. But I’m about balance and this is just one side of a scale. Regarding me, I am no one, I am trash, I’m just a guy waiting to go on a date, after a decade, or go to a party of my peers. As I pass by in your lives, I just wanted to share what’s relevant for the moment.
Don’t focus on remembering me, but remember what I told you.

In Pleasant Hill, the Avengers rescue squad headed to the Inn to find the heroes who had been absorbed into the town. After bringing them back to their selves, the group had to come up with a game plan to find a way to beat Baron Zemo to the fragments of the Reality Stone that were scattered around town so that they could clean up S.H.I.E.L.D.’s mess once and for all.
These events come BEFORE the MUSEUM / HOSPITAL / TOWN HALL chat logs.
THIS IS THE OFFICIAL CHAT LOG COVERAGE OF THE IC
SAM WILSON: Reality warping never got any easier. Not that Sam had a ton of experience with it. It had just been a long six months, that’s all. Wanda had changed their appearances before entering and did a spell to keep their minds - and identities - in place in case the blocking chips failed, but she couldn’t tamper with too much. The second they entered the town, Sam felt the change ripple over his skin. He was still Black - god bless little miracles - but his wings were gone. Every weapon he had was. Left alone with timbs and jeans, Sam glanced around the slightly too bright and perfect town. “They said to go to the Inn,” he cleared his throat. “Anyone know where that is? Or what we’re walking into?”
DAISY JOHNSON: As much as it pained her to admit it in that moment, Daisy knew exactly where the Inn was. Part of her job in Pleasant Hill over the course of the past month had been to actually live in the town almost every day of the week. She was just glorified security without any access to any huge information like the citizen's identities, but still. The guilt of even letting herself get this involved was twisting her gut as she took a deep breath and nodded. "I do," She took a moment before pointing north of where they were standing. "It's a few blocks over that way."
BUCKY BARNES: Bucky regarded Daisy plainly, watching her with a certain level of scrutiny reserved for people he didn't really trust. It sucked, considering, but he followed her motion and looked towards the direction of the Inn. "Walking into practically naked." he remarked. Pleasant Hill had stripped them of their belongings, including his fucking arm.
CASSIE LANG: Cassie uncomfortably tugged at the side of her shirt, feeling very out of place standing next to all of the other heroes. She had never actually done any field work like this before, and she imagined she’d be doing it alongside her dad for the first time. But now that he was sucked into the town, she had to help get him back. There was no way she was doing home. But that didn’t change how bizarre this all felt, and definitely didn’t get rid of any of her anxiety about attempting to use her powers at some point. “Does the reality stone mess with any abilities in here? Or is it just physical objects?”
BOBBI MORSE: A perk of her job had meant keeping her own face. A tiny piece of freedom given to Bobbi and taken from the residents. That didn’t work now. If she wanted to be incognito she couldn’t call herself Violet Testa and look like Barbara Morse. Her hair was actually blonde now, skin paler in color. “Quake ‘n’ Bake is right,” Bobbi confirmed. “But what we’re walking into, I’m not sure. They were conscious but they may not be now.” Starting up on Keds clad feet - she was dressed in a weirdly old fashioned waitress uniform, the Agent winced at Bucky’s situation. “The town default is to claim all weapons and lock them in the Town Museum as inventory. We’ll have to stop there after. There’s thirteen of them and twelve of us. Jenna Carlisle runs the Inn -- she’s fine, but she’s serious about what she does.”
BUCKY BARNES: "So we don't hit the museum first?" Bucky asked, tone betraying the clear irritation he felt. "What's so important about the Inn right now anyway."
RIRI WILLIAMS: “Naked is right.” Riri mumbled under her breath, flicking at a long maroon braid. Long hair don’t care was fine for the Willow Smith’s who wanted to whip it, but Riri’s scalp ached from where the box braids had been fastened into what had once been her curls. “Natural abilities are negated,” she muttered in response to Cassie. “It was in the dossier. No powers and they took my armor. Aight. That’s fine.” She glanced over at Viv, who once again looked human with tanned flesh and no green hair in sight. “I don’t like this. Any of it.”
STEVE ROGERS: Steve was getting a little tired of having reality warped — it seemed ever since Thanos went after those damn stones nothing ever really settled back into place. “We don’t have to like it, we just have to survive it.” Steve said. “Everyone just keep your eyes up and remember just because their mind and face are altered, they might still retain subconscious powers or skills that could be triggered.”
BOBBI MORSE: Stepping around a piece of litter -- which was incredibly rare in Pleasant Hill and a clear sign something was wrong -- Bobbi snorted. “How about our people that Ripley ate at the Border? People, like Clint and Kate, who are gonna need to hit up the museum too. And we don’t have the luxury of making multiple trips.” As Steve spoke, Bobbi gave a lazy salute. “Aye, aye, Captain. We’re here anyway.” Jutting a chin towards the quaint Colonial home, Bobbi led the way up the structure and knocked on the door. When the Agent answered, she quickly leaned in to whisper Alpha Override Command BM-99078. When Jenna didn’t budge, Bobbi just sighed. “Redwing. Redwing, okay? I’ll explain later.” As Agent Carlisle stepped back and opened the door, Bobbi gestured for everyone to enter. “Call everyone down to the dining room. Meeting time.”
VIVIAN VISION: Strange wasn't even the right word to describe the entire situation laid out in front of them as Vivian sat quietly and listened to everyone speak. It felt bizarre to not see her green locks in the corner of her eyes, or her purple skin. But she shoved past the discomfort as she turned to Cassie and nodded. "It was in the dossier, like Riri said. But I'm sure this is overwhelming for you, being new to everything." She frowned at Riri's words and nodded, wishing she had a better answer for her friend. But unfortunately, it seemed a little bit late to turn back and change their minds. "It will be okay. We just need to stick together."
DAISY JOHNSON: Daisy wasn't sure how to respond to the nickname as she ran her hands through her now shorter and brown hair while they walked. She wasn't really feeling up to pitching into the debate of where to go first, since she didn't even feel like really speaking up at all. She was too wrapped up in her own thoughts of everything that could potentially go wrong, considering they were walking through a town that was filled to the brim with supervillains. Well, mostly supervillains. As they entered the Inn, she looked around the room as they entered and raised an eyebrow as more new faces entered the room.
BOBBI MORSE: “Florence. Kitchen. Now.” Bobbi snapped twice at Agent Carlisle before leading ‘Florence Young’ away from the group of growing people. “They called Subsonic Frequency, all agents active. Even embedded. I need your folder on who’s here. The inmates have Director Hill and Agent Carter, which means I need Avengers and not yogi’s.” When the other Agent didn’t budge, Bobbi took a step forward. “I’m your superior, which means you’re giving me the file and then you’re relieved of duty. Evacuate the city.” A few moments later, the Mockingbird brought the thick folder out to her makeshift squad. “Ta-da. Turns out that ugly asshole,” she pointed a thumb at a sickly white boy. “Is my circus freak ex-husband. This ringing a bell for anyone? Feel free to look.”
GWEN STACY: One of three cheerleaders crashing at the Inn, Alice Kelley was seated on the lap of Max Welch, letterman jacket covering the midriff exposing cheer uniform. “This is, like, a super fun awkward interaction,” she snapped her gum at the people who had entered the Inn. “But the who the hell are you guys?”
RUBY KIM: Ruby Kim furrowed her eyebrows and licked the cherry lollipop in her hand as she took a look at the room full of brand new faces in front of her. Things were definitely hazy the longer she thought about them, like where she was, or more importantly why she was there and not at school. When it seemed to take awhile for an answer, she moved her lollipop in tandem with her hand as she shrugged. "Yeah, who are you? Cause there's a pep rally that we're going to miss."
NATASHA ROMANOFF: Reclining on one of the lumpy sofas, the arm of ‘Lulu Gordon’ was extended above her head as she tried to angle her phone properly. Too much cleavage? Not enough? It was hard to decide. Taking pictures both way, she propped herself up to peer over the edge of the couch and glare at the newcomers. “Yeah, hi. You’re really kind of ruining the energy in the room. So, if you could just arrivederci or whatever that would be a-1.”
RIRI WILLIAMS: “Um.” Riri just stared at the full dining room. She had read the folder fast enough to connect new faces to old, but her brain wasn’t computing properly. Which was a first, actually. “--I don’t think I want to unpack this. How do we fix it?” She couldn’t help but shoot Miles a look where he sat under what had once been Gwen Stacy.
BUCKY BARNES: Despite knowing Yelena's location wasn't here, Bucky still scanned the room, looking for Nat. Most were reclining, chatting amongst themselves. He stopped on Clint, who was just now barely getting with the program that they were no longer alone. He went from flirting horribly (even Bucky knew that face wouldn't get him very far) to blinking dumbly at them. Yeah, that tracked. "Cranial reset." he said, passing his gaze back to the face that wasn't Natasha, but she was buried somewhere beneath. Carol was here too, already standing in defense.
VIVIAN VISION: "Perhaps a jarring action will help them blink back to reality?" Vivian suggested, shrugging as she suggested it. She wasn't sure it would work, but anything seemed to be worth a shot.
STEVE ROGERS: Honestly the sight in front of him was registering but not as his wife. He had expected her to be different but this was...he didn’t have words for it. At least when Wanda warped things everyone looked the same, this was something else entirely. She didn’t appear to have the slightest trace of Natasha on the surface, in fact he was having a hard time understanding how any of it reversible at all—but then again these were magic cosmic rocks they were talking about. Silly him. “So you want us to hit them really hard in the head?” Steve deadpanned.
BOBBI MORSE: “Hit them so hard that reality rights.” Bobbi whistled. “I mean, it’s technically worked before? If any of them are still in there, they should know how to hit back.”
VIVIAN VISION: "That makes it sound worse when you say it like that, but yes."
GWEN STACY: “Slight issue.” Alice raised a hand. “We have a game tomorrow, and Coach said if there’s, like, any head issues at all we can’t play and he’s a starter and Ruby and I are varsity. So, I would love to not get hit. Not sure why that’s even being talked about. We’re minors.”
STEVE ROGERS: Steve shrugged. “Nat did it to Clint once when Loki’s scepter had control over him. Theory tracks.”
CINDY MOON: "I don't know why we're talking about hitting anyone, but I'll totally defend myself if you try. I carry mace." Ruby insisted, her eyes narrowing at the strangers around her.
BOBBI MORSE: “No, I think it sounds exactly as bad as it is.” Bobbi shot back. “The main difference now is that I’m pretty sure I’d break Clint’s face if I hit it. He looks... delicate.”
STEVE ROGERS: “Good news is, it’ll get put back together.”
GABBY KINNEY: Gabby rolled her eyes and grumbled to herself as she walked over to who she hoped was Laura and clocked her right in the nose. She hoped their healing factors kicked in again soon, because it looked like it really hurt. "Laura? That's you, right? I probably shoulda double checked the file.."
LAURA KINNEY: “--what the fuck.” The third cheerleader, who had yet to speak, head snapped back as she frantically tried to cup under her nose to stop from getting blood on the white uniform. “I think you broke my nose.” Stella blinked over watering eyes. Still, a secondary pain shot through her temple. “What the hell.”
BOBBI MORSE. “Jesus Christ.” Rolling her shoulders back, Bobbi was halfway to Clint when the baby badger or whatever the clone’s clone was called punched a walking Barbie. “Did that work or not?” She faltered, arm still prepped to punch Clint.
CLINT BARTON: Clint's false, lanky face flinched, hands coming up in defense. "Hey! Who gives you the right to just barge in here-"
GABBY KINNEY: Gabby couldn’t tell if it was her sister or not, since the cheerleader definitely seemed pretty annoyed. Laura would be fighting back by now. For once, she felt a tingling in her knuckles where she’d punched and raised an eyebrow. Is this what pain felt like? Curious, she shrugged and punched hopefully Laura a second time, this time in the stomach.
STEVE ROGERS: Steve wasn’t thrilled about the idea of having to hit Nat, but he didn’t exactly like the idea of having someone else do it either. Regardless, none of that made him feel any better about walking up to the twenty something year old illusion that had been warped into Nat. “Okay, ya gotta believe if there was another way t’do this, I’d be all over it—but wouldn’t yanno the magic fix to our magic problem is punching each other.” The defeat could not be kept from his voice if he tried. A beat as he looked at her and shook his head “I’m sorry—“ Quickly, Steve hit her really hard in the side of the head with the shield gauntlet on his wrist, probably wincing harder than she did at the impact. It was enough to stun—he tried not to pull back too hard, afraid that if he hit her too gently it might not work and he’d have to inevitably do it again. And this was very much something he never wanted to have to repeat for as long as he lived.
LAURA KINNEY: Still caught up in the tender and definitely broken cartilage of her nose, Stella didn’t see the second hit coming until the fist connected with her gut. As the breath was forced from her lungs, red covered her vision. This time, it didn’t fade. As she straightened one hand shot out to grab her assailant. Jerking it behind her, she used the leverage to twist it behind the girl and shove her face first into the wall. Hard. It was a strange instinct that led one fist to be poised next to her neck even though the flesh remained unchanged. “Stop.”
GABBY KINNEY: Gabby didn’t know what she really expected if the punch had worked. And sure enough, suddenly her face was colliding with the wall next to them and she bit the bottom of her lip, tasting blood. It stung, which was a strange and unfamiliar sensation as her eyes widened and she couldn’t help a smile. Laura was trying to hold claws at her neck, which meant it was sort of working. “Laur, it’s me. It’s Gabby.” She grumbled, trying her best to resist her sister’s grip and turn to face her. “I look different, but it’s me.”
CAROL DANVERS: Carol's false persona let out an obnoxious, very non Carol sound. "This is not how we handle business in Pleasant Hill." she crossed her arms over her chest. "Someone, help Lulu get away from mister violence for hands. It's already over for Stella." Her dark brown gaze slid over. "Oh honey, what a horrible impromptu nose job."
BOBBI MORSE: “S.H.I.E.L.D. did, actually.” Steve punched Natasha then, which was more than Bobbi would have put past Rogers -- but hey, desperate times were met with desperate measures. “And the power of the Vegas minister when he pronounced us woman and douchebag.” Never one to be left out, Bobbi delivered a sharp uppercut before her knee instantly drove itself into his gut as she kicked him to the ground.
NATASHA ROMANOFF: One minute her phone was in her hand, the next it was across the room. As pain resonated across her temple and ate out any comprehensive thoughts, it took two seconds for Natasha to propel herself off the back of the couch and twist mid air to wrap her thighs around his neck. As her body weight came crashing down it pulled him with her and the “influencer” came to rest on top of him with a knee digging into his chest. “What, we don’t say hi anymore?”
LAURA KINNEY: Chest heaving for a moment, Laura pushed Gabby further into the wall before releasing her grip and backing up. A quick check of her nose revealed it was still broken -- officially the longest broken bone she’d ever had. “Everyone looks different.” She intoned. “This is Pleasant Hill. And you’re all here?”
DAISY JOHNSON: Daisy grimaced, knowing what she had to do even if she didn’t really want to. Some of these people here didn’t have anyone aware to specifically wake them up, so she went with Cindy as she approached the cheerleader and swiftly grabbed her arm, easily knocking the mace out of it before elbowing her in the forehead. She tried not to do it too hard, but hard enough to hopefully wake the younger girl up.
CINDY MOON: The cheerleader quickly tried to pull her mace out with a shaky hand as she struggled to find out how to get the lock off. But before she could, suddenly the mace was rolling on the floor and there was a blunt that radiated throughout her head. She blinked for a moment and stumbled back. “Ow..”
JESSICA DREW: “Fuck ‘em uuuuup.” Legs swinging from the counter she was perched on, the firefighter took a bite of her apple and watched the brawls.
CLINT BARTON: Clint winced, pain ricocheting through him from the force of his organs ping ponging around his body. "Dude not-" he wheezed, but just as Bobbi geared up for another kick, Clint caught her boot, one hand cupping the top and the other wrapping around her ankle and calf. "Would you let up already?" he said as he tightened his grip. "This wasn't what the therapist recommended."
BOBBI MORSE: Leg caught in the air, Bobbi paused with a heaving chest. She had been wrong. His face wasn’t that breakable. “He also didn’t recommend running away to fantasyland, did he?” She lightly kicked twice to signal that he should release her. “Song we danced to at our wedding?”
STEVE ROGERS: You’d figure as the breath ripped from his lungs as his back slammed down into the ground, he’d be alarmed or upset, but no, pure relief flooded his lungs when he slowly forced air into them. It was odd to hear her but not...hear her. The voice was foreign but the second his eyes met, hers he didn’t know how to feel about the familiarity of her in someone else’s. for all accounts it was definitely Nat... “Well it’s been a while, wasn’t sure you’d recognize me.”
SAM WILSON: “Really, man?” Sam groaned at Steve, who was now pinned under a presumably conscious Natasha. “Setting unrealistic standards for men yet again. Maybe you can hit your girl, but man, my Pops would've--” The former Captain America did a double take. “Shut the hell up, Drew.” Turning to face Carol, Sam held his hands up. “I know you’re gonna forgive me, Cap, but I’m still sorry.” There was a pan on the table, and in one rapid movement Sam picked it up and flung it towards Carol’s head. He still had his shield skills, and he didn’t want to actually hit her.
CLINT BARTON: "Gangnam style." Clint said, pushing her foot away on the release. He rolled, using the momentum to get back to his feet but immediately swaying. "My center of gravity is way off," he said, wincing as he grabbed for his side, only then realizing. His hands went to his chest, then down his stomach, across his thighs. "Am I teenager? Don't tell me they made me a teenager."
CASSIE LANG: Cassie frowned as she looked down at the file again and glanced back up at who she could only presume was Kate, despite not having any of the same physical qualities. It was technically one of the first times she’d seen Kate’s face without a single mark on it. “I’m sorry, dude. I promise we’ll laugh about this later.” She grimaced before clenching her fist and throwing a punch at her best friend’s cheek, trying her best to avoid the nose. Cass had been training with Hope, so she hoped she landed the punch the correct way.
NATASHA ROMANOFF: When her head snapped up following the takedown, the mass of hair that covered her eyes was dark and unlike her own. Although still in shape, her legs were too long and she had to untangle herself from Steve before offering him a hand. “This wasn’t exactly what I meant when I said I wanted to find my sister.” Which, she hadn’t technically done yet. Giving Bucky a quiet nod, Natasha observed the group of people wiping blood from their faces. “But I’ve seen worse.”
CAROL DANVERS: Carol didn't even flinch, didn't even move. As if anyone would have the audacity to throw a projectile at her. She just observed the chaos, face contorted into something displeased until thunk. When she came to, Carol was rubbing her forehead and sitting back up. Her eyes landed on the pan, which she immediately grabbed. On Sam's cue, as if her brain could make sense of it anyway, Carol strong armed it in someone's direction, smacking them directly in the head.
KATE BISHOP: Drinking her coffee and minding her business, Kate attempted to splash her attacker with the hot liquid before her cheek took the hit. Smashing the cup against the edge of the table, she branded it at Cassie. “Who the hell taught you to hit?”
BOBBI MORSE: “You danced to that alone because you were drunk and I was peeing in a bush.” Taking a step back, Bobbi shook her hand out. “Nope, just a malnourished adult man.”
CASSIE LANG: A little hot coffee splashed onto Cassie’s legs, but thankfully she had jeans on and it didn’t make it to her face. She still grimaced though as she took a step back and looked down at the broken coffee mug in Kate’s hand. “Does that matter? And jesus, what’re you gonna do? Stab me with that thing?” Cassie exclaimed.
JESSICA DREW: Caught up in the obvious tension between Lulu and the guy who hit her, ‘Catherine’ didn’t even notice Carmella go down. She also didn’t notice the pan get launched again until it clipped her clean in the temple. Apple hitting the floor, Jessica followed it a moment later as she slumped off the counter.
STEVE ROGERS: At Sam’s comment, Steve definitely didn’t think his father would be particularly keen on Steve hitting any woman for any reason — but then again his dad wouldn’t be very impressed with a lot of things he’d done. The Cap title, sure, but the war criminal part would have really put a damper on things. “Well, we didn’t exactly have an instruction manual.” He said, sitting up right. “Sorry.” he added, gently placing his palm on the side of her head. He knew she’d had worse, but that was entirely beside the point. “What are the chances that doesn’t bruise when we get you back to normal?”
ROGER GOCKING: Normally when brought out of a daze, or brainwashing ( an experience Roger was all too familiar with ), reality came back to you in flashes, but this time - it hit Roger like a brick. Suddenly much much taller and lacking a set of quills, the bewildered man found himself in an unfamiliar room. Hands flew up to examine his face and various other parts of his now distinctly human body, before noise down the hall drew his attention away. A bit unstable on two legs, he made his way out the door and down a set of stairs - very slowly down a set of stairs - finding himself amidst almost total chaos. “Uhh — “ he tried to speak up, voice a bit hoarse, “- hello?”
KATE BISHOP: “I don’t know, slash your radial artery? I’m crafty.” Kate hissed before she dropped the piece of glass, the painted fragment the winking eye of a partial smiley face. “Ouch. Thanks, dude. But ouch.”
CAROL DANVERS: Carol got to her feet, still rubbing the side of her head. "You're an ass." she looked over towards Sam. "But thanks."
SAM WILSON: “I’m sorry, Carmella.” He crossed his arms over his chest. “You got a Zumba class to instruct?” Noticing another enter, there was a scoff as Sam nodded towards Roger. “Call the search party out of the bushes. Found the rodent.”
CAROL DANVERS: "Hey Sam." Carol cocked a brow. "You wanna know what a pan feels like to the head? No? Shut it, Perry."
SAM WILSON: Letting out a low whistle, Sam shook his head. “Low blow. I’ve taken a pan to the head. It’s how I knew it would work. I don’t want to tell you how pissed Sarah was.”
ROGER GOCKING: Roger blinked, eying the man who addressed him with confusion, “Wait what — rodent?”
CAROL DANVERS: "I promise I throw harder." but she was smiling, just a little. "Come on. Help me with Jess."
BOBBI MORSE: Wincing, Bobbi smiled apologetically at Roger. “Long story that’s not that long. You were -- more or less -- turned into a porcupine for the last few months. It’s what the Town Database assigned you. But, and I won’t be the first to say it, that should never have happened and I’m very sorry. Drew’s been looking for you. Welcome back to opposable thumbs!” Jesus, S.H.I.E.L.D. needed to pay or more therapists.
NATASHA ROMANOFF: “I’ll take a bruise if it means I look like myself again.” Natasha commented quietly. “But we have bigger problems right now. Beginning with, James --- where’s your arm?”
ROGER GOCKING: The woman that approached him next looked moderately friendly, but her face was unfamiliar to Roger. As she explained the situation, a hand slowly rose to his head again, subconsciously carding through unruly brown hair before gently prodding at long forgotten features. Memories came back in flashes, in sensations. Grass as tall as the sky, flashes of sunlight, the distinct scent of evergreen trees - it meant nothing to Roger, and more than he could imagine. But at the mention of Jessica, his heart rate spiked, recognition flooding back, “Jess? Where is she?!”
BUCKY BARNES: "Oh, this thing?" he motioned to the empty space. "Apparently if it were plastic I would've been fine. Now I'm lopsided."
DAISY JOHNSON: “In the Town Museum,” Daisy chimed in, glancing at Natasha. “The town automatically claims them any weapons and writes them into the museum as inventory. Which means that should probably be our next stop.”
KWANNON: As the room erupted into chaos, the woman formerly known as Kwannon had receded to the edge of the room. She didn’t need to be clocked in the head. The thoughts in the room began to mount and suddenly they were pounding against the mind of the telepath, a punch of a different kind. Poised at the top of the staircase, the telepath closed her eyes for a moment. Purple butterflies flared up on the temples of those they had yet to recalibrate -- Chavez, Morales, Murdock, Stacy -- and righted their memories. “We’re wasting time.” She spoke both telepathically and aloud. “Pleasant Hill is crumbling. The X-Men are sending more in.” As she moved down the stairs, Psylocke psychically compiled the images of their true faces and telepathically placed it in their minds. “Hopefully that helps.”
SAM WILSON: Obediently following Carol, Sam grabbed some peas from the fridge and propped Jess up against the counter. “Jess is here. Someone got a little overzealous with a frying pan.” Still, it was a relief to actually see everyone. “You want to elaborate, Psylocke?”
MATT MURDOCK: At Kwannon’s telepathic prod, awareness flooded Matt’s system as well as the sudden need to take in as much visual stimuli as possible before the worst could happen. Realistically, he knew it wouldn’t be long, but the selfish part of him hoped things took a bit more work to solve and his current state would last just a bit longer. Blinking slowly, he sat in the corner of the room, silently observing.
ROGER GOCKING: Roger approached Jess slowly, despite the intense need to wrap her up in his arms and never let go. She didn’t look like herself yet, but it was her - and they were one step closer to getting home, to getting out of here. Wherever here was. “Jess— oh my god. It’s so good to see you. Well, sort of you,” Roger grinned, eyes brimming with tears.
KWANNON: “I’m speaking from what I’ve heard.” What she had sensed, around the fear. “Zemo and his Circle have taken over the town.” She explained then what the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had said in their cry for help: the plan to lure the heroes to the Town Hall and the fragmenting of the Reality Stone. “The Museum, the Town Hall, the Hospital.” She ticked off. “Each guarded. US Agent, Bullseye and Elektra are at the Museum. Taskmaster, White Widow and Batroc are at the Hospital. The rest are at the Town Hall. I would advise splitting up, dividing and conquering. Polaris, Synch, Rogue, Magik and Nico Minoru have entered the town. It’s my job to make sure they cast the spell your Scarlet Witch instructed on.”
SAM WILSON: “If the boss says we divide and conquer, we divide and conquer. I know a lot of us need gear, so, I’ll head to the museum. Clint, Kate, Parker, Riri, Alexander, Scott and Steve -- you guys good to come with me? There’s some wings and bows with our names on it.”
SAM ALEXANDER: “Aye aye, Captain,” Sam nodded, immediately cringing at his own choice of words.
MATT MURDOCK: Matt stood up, knowing what he had to do, who he had to face, “I’ll come to the museum as well.”
GWEN STACY: Raising a hand, Gwen shifted from one foot to the other. She really needed to find a way to cover up. “I need to go too. My suit’s a symbiote, so they qualified it as a weapon and I don’t have my powers anymore.” A painful admission.
NATASHA ROMANOFF: “I’m going to the hospital.” Natasha was already tightening her running shoes. “I’m finishing what I started. What we started.” Her and Bucky. “Bobbi, I need your codes. Viv, it would be nice to have you as well.”
KWANNON: Now on the ground level, Kwannon stood beside Natasha.. “I’ll be going with you. Magik, Synch and Nico need to be at the hospital. Laura?”
LAURA KINNEY: Nodding once, Laura flexed her fingers as if to try and call forth latent claws.
VIVIAN VISION: Vivian nodded, glad to help in whatever way she was able. She couldn’t help but glance to Riri though as if to silently ask if she’d be following after she got her suit.
GABBY KINNEY: Gabby looked up at her sister and tried to stand up to seem taller, but she still somehow felt small around everyone else. “I want to come too.”
DAISY JOHNSON: Daisy clenched her jaw and nodded at Sam and Kwannon, knowing where she probably needed to go. She had no idea what kind of state Cal would be in, but she knew she had to be the first person to find him. “I’ll go to the town hall.”
KWANNON: “Polaris and Rogue will meet you in the Town Square, but the Council has asked them to leave once the spell is cast. Gabrielle,” Kwannon cast her gaze downwards at the young mutant. I need you to accompany the group to the Town Hall. We have to divide our talents, and I need you to give Lorna a message.”
GABBY KINNEY: As much as Gabby wanted to stick with Laura, she couldn’t help her excitement at being given a specific message to give. “You got it. Uh, what message.. exactly?”
JESSICA DREW: She had stirred at some point from her frying pan induced stupor, clutching a bag of frozen vegetables to her aching temple. Jess had a few harsh words for Carol but they all dissipated when she spotted a very tall and not rodent looking man approaching. “Oh my god. You.” She half scuttled over, sloppily throwing herself on him. May she had overestimated her balance post frying pan a little. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you. Even the bushes.”
KWANNON: Kneeling down, Kwannon tapped Gabby’s forehead with one finger and a small violet butterfly flew away. It was a telepathic message shared only between the two, and when Kwannon stood she left without another word.
BOBBI MORSE: Sighing, Bobbi grabbed two of the kitchen knives for good measure. Not like they’d do much good, but she wasn’t above slashing her way out of shit. “I have a uniform and staves at the hospital anyway. Catch you guys later. Try and stay alive, yeah?” Turning on a heel, Bobbi left along with Laura.
CAROL DANVERS: "So now that we're in resume mission mode," Carol glanced over towards Jess but left it alone for now. She'd probably have to apologize at some point, but Roger no longer being a rodent was occupying enough of her attention at the moment. "I don't think we'll have time to stop by the museum to gear up. We need to get this handled, now. Johnson," she directed her attention to the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. "We need a plan, especially regarding this. We'll take a group to Town Hall."
ROGER GOCKING: The relief that flooded Roger’s chest as Jessica recognized him was unmatched. She stumbled forward, but large, steady arms caught her, holding her upright. “So I’ve heard —“ he let out a slight chuckle, leaning to the side for a moment to wipe his moist cheeks against the sleeve of his shirt. “Maybe you should sit down,” guiding her over to the nearest chair, he gently lowered her into it, before his hands came up to gingerly cradle her head, “God, I missed you.”
DAISY JOHNSON: “Plan is to make it to the town hall, and do whatever we can to stop Zemo from getting that damn reality stone.” Daisy insisted, not really in the right mindset to stop for a moment and consider a plan. Based on what Psylocke explained, there didn’t seem like much time to consider most of this. If they didn’t act now, there was no telling what he’d do with that stone. “Other than that,” She paused and gave an exasperated shrug. “Whoever is left. Rambeau, Danvers, Lang, Chavez, Moon, Morales, we’re heading to town hall. Let’s move.”
JESSICA DREW: “Maybe you should sit down.” Jessica hiccuped, mouth moving independently from her mind. “You were a porcupine. Which I know you know. I’m sorry. I thought Gerry was one too for a minute.” Carol had been there to drag her out of the bushes. Buried in the mass of his chest, Jess let out a shaky breath. “I missed you too. When you weren’t there to pick up Gerry, they said...” She shook her head. “I knew you wouldn’t, and I’m sorry they did this to you.” Her powers were sluggish but her head was clearing. “We need to get your suit. We need to make sure you’re protected.”
ROGER GOCKING: “God — Gerry. Where — is he okay?” Roger immediately questioned, ignoring Jessica’s concern for his own well-being. “I would never, Jess - I love that kiddo like my own,” one hand lifted to gently stroke her hair as he considered the situation at hand, “Wouldn’t be a bad idea. Sooner we can get out of here, sooner we can get Gerry back in his mama’s arms.”
JESSICA DREW: “He’s okay, he’s okay.” Jess quickly reassured him. “The daycare called me when you weren’t there and I was’t getting my face smashed in for once so I answered. I reached out to Olivia,” which was hard considering that Roger’s ex hated her, “but she thought you bailed. Ben watched Gerry some. I told him to call Jen Walters if I didn’t come back.” Which, she hadn’t. How long had they been in Pleasant Hill? “He misses you.”
ROGER GOCKING: Roger softened, more relief flooding his system, “Urich? Alright, I’ll give it to you, he’s plenty responsible. And of course Olivia thought that. Can’t say I’m surprised.” Hoisting Jessica gently out of her chair upon realizing they were the only ones left in the inn, Roger began to direct them toward the door, all the while grinning like a lovesick puppy, “God, you’re gonna kill me. I missed the little guy as well. So so much. But we’ve gotta head to the museum, Jess - get my suit back.”
JESSICA DREW: “I know. You’re right. As much as I would love to christen the inn,” she paused, thinking about all the criminals who had stayed there. “No, nevermind. Museum is the good choice.” Rising on her toes to kiss Roger on the cheek, Jess grabbed his hand and pulled him out the door. “Let’s get the hell out of here.”

I’ve received a number of inquiries from SWLing Post readers lately regarding an inexpensive Si4732-based mini stand-alone receiver being sold on Amazon and eBay for around $56-66 US shipped. The radio is based on the Silicon Labs Si4732 DSP chip which provides the following frequency coverage: FM (64–108 MHz) with RDS AM/Mediumwave (520–1710 kHz) Shortwave […]

Current ham radio news
Tad Cook, K7RA, Seattle, reports: Average daily sunspot numbers declined this week from 17.9 to 11.9. Why? Because on the final 2 days of the March 25 – 31 reporting week sunspots disappeared. That’s right. We’re back to the blank sun again, unfortunately.
Spaceweather.com reported on Wednesday that we may soon see a potential sunspot that’s currently on the far side of our sun.
Average daily solar flux dropped from 78.6 to 77.4. Geomagnetic indicators softened as well, with average daily planetary A index declining from 13.3 to 8.9, and middle latitude A index from 10.4 to 7.7.
Predicted solar flux over the next month does not look promising, with values way down in the 70s, although this forecast improved some over the past couple of days. Expect 10.7-centimeter flux at 73 on April 2 – 3; 71 on April 4 – 9; 73 on April 10 – 13; 74 on April 14 – 16; 76 on April 17 – 24; 75 on April 25 – 27; 74 and 73 on April 28 – 29, and 72 on April 30 – May 5.
Predicted planetary A index is 5 on April 2 – 5; 8 on April 6 – 7; 5, 10, and 20 on April 8 – 10; 5 on April 11 – 15; 20 and 18 on April 16 – 17; 8 on April 18 – 19; 5 on April 20 – 21; 8 on April 22 – 24; 12 on April 25; 8 on April 26 – 27; 5 on April 28 – 30; 8 on May 1 – 2; 5 on May 3 – 4, and 12 on May 5 – 7.
Here’s the geomagnetic activity forecast for April 2 – 27 from OK1HH. The geomagnetic field will be:
quiet on April 12 – 13, 24 – 26
quiet to unsettled on April 5, 14, 23
quiet to active on April (2 – 7, 15, 20 – 22, 27)
unsettled to active April (8, 11, 18 – 19)
active to disturbed April (9 – 10,) 16 – 17
Solar wind will intensify on April 3, (4-5, 8-9,) 10-11, (12, 16-17,) 18, (19-22, 27)
Parentheses mean lower probability of activity enhancement. Predictability of changes remains very low, as there are ambiguous and quickly changing indications.
This article in The Irish Times asks, “Was space weather the cause of the Titanic disaster?”
NN4X reported a 15-meter long path opening to Asia: “Nice opening to Asia here in Central Florida on the morning of April 1.
“On FT8, I worked BA7LP, YD7ACD, BG7PHA, and VR2VLY, and heard 9V1PL and BD7LMA.
“It was very concentrated. Note, no JA/HL/DU. Typically, I’ve been seeing more YBs than anything on 15-meter LP, but certainly not today.”
Many years ago we reported in this bulletin the results JQ2UOZ was getting running one-half watt using simple wire antennas on his apartment balcony. Check out his blog.
Another blast from the past on flares and CMEs:
This article in The Conversation discusses, “Why we need to get better at predicting space weather.”
The Carrington Event, mentioned in this article, “Extreme solar storms may be more frequent than previously thought,” continues to fascinate.
AL7LO has a collection of his favorite ARRL Propagation Bulletins, and he shared this one from 8 years ago.
Sunspot numbers for March 25 – 31 were 24, 24, 11, 11, 13, 0, and 0, with a mean of 11.9. The 10.7-centimeter flux was 78.8, 79.6, 80.4, 75.1, 74.4, 79.5, and 73.8, with a mean of 77.4. Estimated planetary A indices were 18, 12, 9, 6, 4, 3, and 10, with a mean of 8.9. Middle latitude A index was 18, 11, 7, 4, 3, 4, and 7, with a mean of 7.7.
For more information concerning radio propagation, visit the ARRL Technical Information Service, read “What the Numbers Mean…,” and check out K9LA’s Propagation Page.

Community Service complete ✅
2018
So this post is 7 months late 🙈 but what a year it was....
So community service isn’t always the conventional or mainstream definition sometimes we get placed in district or rural hospitals for a year, if you are as blessed as I was you get placed in a tertiary institution where you get to gain experience in a speciality that you’re interested in.
I spent the full year in Obstetrics and Gynaecology 😃. If you’ve read my previous posts you’ll see that it’s always been a source of joy for me. I was meant to spend 3 months In Paediatric surgery however the person I was meant to swop with wasn’t interested in O&G and would rather do anything but O&G. His loss and my gain 💃🏽.
Initially I was looking forward to rotating out for a bit of a break and I also held myself back because I knew that I was going to have to start afresh with a new group of people, and that nearly cost me a lot. When I found out I wasn’t rotating out I had to change my mindset and get serious very quickly because now a door had been opened and I wasn’t going to let it slip through my fingers.
O&G is such a demanding yet rewarding experience. We have a high turnerover of patients and are on call every 5 days and only get 2 weekends off a month sometimes only 1 weekend off. So it is exhausting but the people I got to meet, work with and the relationships I built made the entire experience worth while and waking up for work each day wasn’t always difficult until the chronic fatigue started creeping in....or when I was being taken advantage of because of my work ethic or my love for just being at work 🤷🏾♀️.
Most of the registrars that I worked with between May-October I had worked with while I was an intern and they remembered me which also made the transition and working environment so much better. I had 2 momma bears that really took me under their wing and taught me a lot, not only do they have great personalities, work ethics and were registrar/resident goals they also led their units well. I’ll always be greatful to them both, they played key roles in my life for different reasons and different seasons. I don’t care what anyone had to say about either of them as well Dr R.H and Dr H.L are 2 of the best O&G specialists.
Now to summarize some highlights from last year, I was officially cleared to solo cut Caesarean sections in April last year, did I first case with an intern: previous c/s x1 in labour, breech presentation. First of all it was a challenging case, managed to deliever the baby but couldn’t exteriorize the uterus due to adhesions and I had only seen the uterus being sutured intra-abdominally once by Dr J M (thank you) was literally a see 1, do 1, teach 1 moment. After about an hour or so and sweat dripping down my back the case went well.
I think one of the highlights for me was how people didn’t realize that I was a junior- internship completed just a few months prior. Not sure if was really that confident or was just great at faking it but people kept asking how far I was in the program, whether I had started my research etc, and as music that was to my ears I reminded them that I’m still a junior and still needed to be checked on from time to time. The benefit though was that if I was calling for help they knew to come running. Having said that I knew my limitations and my weaknesses, I was always eager to learn from them and if I said I didn’t know something I would make an effort to learn or ask to be taught how to do it. Not only did I learn but it encouraged others to teach and impact some knowledge while building relationships and bonds.
There are so many good things to write about last year, I made two “besties”- Dr S.N and Dr X-L F. Very unexpected but we all work well together, separated though because of rotations but good friends none the less.
So many noteable people that taught me and continue to teach me a lot but also who have a best interest at heart and have continued to support me from the beginning- Dr E BM., Dr C.J, Dr P. Ml, Dr P.Mo, Dr O.O.... these women have been amazing in my life.
When the Lord blesses you with so many influential people who have each played such a significant role in your life at different seasons and struggles you can’t help but just be greatful. Writing this post I think I underestimated how many people I’m thankful for- especially the women because now a days many women find themselves alone but we’re starting to rebuild ourselves and hold each other up the way we’re meant to.
Having said that there are still a few men out there who have also helped me along my journey- Dr C.M, Dr K. K., Dr K. T- I’m very grateful for the time they took to teach me, all three of them very humble, kind hearted and hard working individuals, very grateful for their contribution in my life.
2018 wasn’t without its challenges and moments where I felt defeated, unfortunately I may have taken out some of that frustration on my juniors which was poor form on my part and I did apologize for my behavior. I’m very self aware or conscious about my emotions so I do know when I’m out of order and need to regroup or realign myself. I did make mistakes, I learnt from them and I grew...it’s part of the reason of how I’ve accomplished certain things in my life thus far.
A shout out to my family for loving me, supporting my dreams and goals and just standing by me through it all. Lord knows I wouldn’t have gotten though it without them being by my side, praying for me and just being there for me
Went for my very first interview- landed myself a medical officer/ houseman post in O&G for 2019, only lasted for 4 months- that will all be in another post or so 😊
I’ll have to go through my archives for any interesting cases to discuss but year, that was my 2018 in a nutshell. No special hashtags for this one. Just a reminder to myself that I’m not alone in this journey and to just encourage myself to be like the women who have been a part of my journey

Race-by-race preview and tips for Port Macquarie on Sunday
Race 2 3YO MAIDEN HCP (1206m) Open race and market watch on a few first starters that haven't done much at the trials. Like gelding 8. Phylave who resumes for good Taree stable off a nice trial win, and whose record is much better than it looks, despite only one placing from eight starts. Wasn't beaten far in decent maidens at Canberra earlier in the year, and before being spelled finished hard as favourite behind Comzig at Bathurst, who won again at Dubbo on Friday. Dangers: Local filly and former Victorian 7. Night Terror mixes her form, but if she can get across from a wide barrier and gain some cover will take some holding out. Cessnock debutant gelding 1. Crime Wave hasn't been asked to do a lot at the trials, but draws nicely and leading hoop goes on; while include first up Taree filly 5. Sensational Girl who trialled okay and has blinkers and lugging bit for the first time. How to play it: Phylave to win Race 3 CL1 HCP (1206m) Much more open affair and keen on 4YO Coffs Harbour mare 6. Lunar Tramp second-up over the right trip. Flashed home to win her maiden three runs back and was strong to the line in a deeper race resuming. Up in weight but already a second-up winner. Dangers: Respect for Taree 4YO gelding 1. Monaco Sniper who resumes for prominent stable and was consistent in good company at his first prep. Weighted to his best but won first up last time. Another Taree runner 3YO gelding 3. Jest Magic won his maiden three runs back at this track and has been finding the line since, but this looks a little stronger. 4. East Esplanade improved sharply at Newcastle last start and should figure in the finish. How to play it: Lunar Tramp each way Race 4 WAUCHOPE SPRINT (1100m) Good competitive race. Always been a big fan of power-finishing local 4YO gelding 2. Patriot and this spot-on. Zoomed home to win the Lightning at Gunnedah two runs back before had little luck caught back and wide in the BM 83 Casino Flying but still charged through the line. Drawn to get lovely cover midfield and finish over the top. Dangers: Local 4YO gelding 4. Golden Comet will push forward from a low gate and park right on the speed. Has good form around some nice sprinters and was right on the heels of high class Queen Of Kingston two back in a strong BM 84 at Grafton, and that mare won at Ipswich on Saturday. Kempsey 5YO gelding 3. Jexerlent has a solid record and resumes without an official trial but fresh record is strong enough and draws the fence with a 3kg claim. Include Glen Innes-trained 4YO mare 5. Carry On Ringo in exotics who got home from well back in that Lightning at Gunnedah, as well as Taree 5YO mare 6. Valbeata who mixes form but draws well on a nice weight. Wauchope-trained 7YO topweight 1. Prince Mayted can't be dismissed on form and class alone, having finished close-up in stronger metro and provincial races this prep but forced to carry a big weight from an awkward gate. How to play it: Patriot to win and quinella 2 and 4 Race 5 MAIDEN HCP (1506m) Open contest with several hopes but improving local mare 3. Veganza again almost cracked her maiden second-up at Coffs Harbour when charging home off a good tempo and can go one better here. Will be forced a long way back from a wide draw but extra trip ideal. Dangers: Newcastle 3YO gelding 1. Lucitor was given plenty of time at the trials before a fair debut in a stronger maiden at Coffs Harbour and should improve up marginally in trip. Hard to believe local 3YO filly 8. Little Funny Bunny is still a maiden after 15 starts but has placed second in three of her last four and will go forward from a cosy gate. Tuncurry 3YO gelding 7. Listen Mate has only been fair to the line in his last few but is hard fit after four runs, draws to get plenty of cover and will appreciate the extra journey. How to play it: Veganza to win and box trifecta 1-3-7-8 Race 6 CL2 HCP (1506m) Some nice depth here. Local 3YO filly 7. Apache Belle at big odds is screaming out for this distance now after powering home in his last couple and looks one of the better weighted runners all day. Dangers: Big watch on lightly raced and well bred 3YO Newcastle filly 4. Azarmin who won her maiden second-up in December and returns for just her third start off a nice trial at Wyong. Stablemate filly 1. Scenic Sight is progressive and taken on deeper company over longer trips but comes back sharply in journey and up in weight so will need plenty of speed on up front to get into the finish. Wauchope 5YO gelding 9. Wolfram has improved significantly in his last couple and draws a nice trailing gate. Another Taree-trained gelding and long-shot 11. Presscott doesn't have a flash record but comes back from slightly stronger company and draws well. How to play it: Apache Belle each way and trifecta: 1-4-7/1-4-7-9-11 Race 7 WAUCHOPE RSL CLUB CUP (1506m) Feature race looks a real battle of tactics and tempo. Improving local 4YO gelding 10. The Kroc rattled home from near last to win a BM 58 at Coffs Harbour two back before found the step up in grade a bit tough last start. Getting a big pull in the weights against more seasoned and older horses brings him right into it. Dangers: Taree 6YO gelding 5. Fuel has had two runs back from a spell in much tougher grade at Scone and Rosehill, both times easily over-run after travelling on speed but should be ready to show his best third-up with less pressure in this. Eagle Farm-based 6YO gelding 2. Gold Symphony is used to carrying weight again tougher opposition and has to be included off a big finishing run behind in-form Queen Of Kingston in a BM 85 at Casino. So too local 5YO gelding 4. Cogliere who drops back in class after being well beaten in a BM 88 at Rosehill. Was very good late two runs back in the Tamworth Cup but weighted right up here. Include the classy stayers resuming 3. Our Gravano and 6. Estikhraaj who will both be doing their best work late in exotics. How to play it: The Kroc each way and first four 5-4-10/2-3-4-5-6-10 Race 8 BM 58 HCP (1206m) Open battle to finish but local 5YO gelding 3. Bangalley Lad looks supremely placed fourth-up back to more suitable distance. Was unwanted in betting last start over further but previously bolted in a weaker race at Kempsey before just missing in a good CL2 this track when heavily backed.Dangers: Tuncurry 6YO gelding 6. Twelfth Raj looks well placed. Has run fourth straight third placings over a spaced period doing his best work late from off the speed, and pattern should suit late in the day. Taree 6YO mare 8. I'll Take Money also looks better suited back in trip. Won two straight this grade from on speed before stepping up to 1400m in a deeper race at Coffs Harbour and was swamped early in the straight. Drawn out, but should come across and sit outside the lead. Stablemate 4YO gelding to Twelfth Raj, 4. Scorching continues to race with zest after winning three straight in weaker company at the start of the prep, and recent efforts around this grade have been solid. Extra weight and wide gate are hurdles. Watch for 6YO Taree gelding 5. Toast getting finishing late.
4. Great indie record labels don’t appear overnight. Time is needed to cultivate industry relationships. Passion from the team is necessary to develop and guide the label throughout its setbacks and successes. And tenacity must be ingrained in the leader for the label’s success to maintain longevity and sustainability in an eve changing, technologically advancing, music industry.
It’s founder, Corey “COBaby” Coleman, has been in the game since the early 1990s as the first road manager for Cash Money, bearing witness to their growth from an underground label, to the original sketch of Cash Money’s logo, to their first major deal with Universal. Since then, COBaby found that he had a real passion, and the skills for managing new talent. With his industry connections in New Orleans, Detroit and Houston, COBaby achieved local success with the DoughBoys in Detroit and Piece of Mind Productions in Texas. Gaining momentum in his drive to connect his influential industry contacts with his tenacity for a successful legacy, COBaby set his sight and ambition towards the bigger picture, owning a label of his own.
Phreedom Records transformed from an idea 20 years in the making, into reality in 2010. COBaby had recently relocated back to New Orleans and found that his daughter, Deshantrel had been rapping under the name Flo’Rescent, recording and rhyming at home, uploading her raw videos onto YouTube. COBaby recognized that she has a flow and originality that wasn’t a part of the current music scene. Dad and daughter met for lunch at Deanie’s Restaurant in the French Quarter and walked out as manager and first artist of Phreedom Records.
COBaby came home from the meeting already on his grind. He asked his wife, Amy, to be partner to his dream and build Phreedom Records LLC from the ground up. When asked about her decision to build a record label, she said, "In the beginning, you're excited to start a label. Your focus is to get your artist in the studio and make a banging track...the reality is it's a lot of paperwork...and learning about what drives the business behind the music is a daily initiative."
November 16, 2011, Phreedom Records LLC came into existence and from the jump, Flo’Rescent opened for Dee-1, Lil Chuckee, and Travis Porter. Performing locally and gaining attention from DJs like Wild Wayne of Q93, collaborating with legends like Skip of UTP. Her success and COBaby's professionalism drew the attention of other talent that led to the signing of three more artists; Ruk22, Hollygrove Tigga and Mic Price.
A lack of female rap groups influenced the decision to combine the strengths and talent of Flo’Rescent and Ruk22, creating the female powerhouse, Double Trouble. Their hits “Stackn Paper” and “Hustler’s Ambition” opened shows for Mia X, LEVEL, N.O.4, Ghetto Twiinz and Mystikal. Success was on the horizon.
But every backstory has their share of successes, as well as trials and tribulations. Phreedom wasn’t spared.
Since 2015, Phreedom Records has been revitalized through new talent and influential business partnerships, beginning with the signing of Lucki Lew. Lucki Lew delivers a mix of musical influences from club rap to bounce and jig, fusing inventive lyrics in his songs “My Lil Yeah Remix feat. Tweeday” and “HotSpot Remix feat. Level” delivered through energetic live performances. He currently has a roster of success in opening for Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, Jacquees, Freeway, LEVEL, Kevin Gates, 5th Ward Weebie, K Styles and Colonel Loud.
In 2017, COBaby added two additional artists to our phamily; Aaron “Butta Bezzy” Anderson, a creative hook master, who expresses himself through a raw and gritty voice, layered with lyrics heavy on sex, twisted with is comedic take on hood life and relationships.
His latest tracks, “All My Life” and “All On You” are fire club bangers.
Travlon “Murderman” Johnson, a gifted storyteller who delivers unapologetic rhymes blended with an effortless style of delivery. On his latest project, Murderman has collaborated with legends such as Jay Da Menace of Kangol Slim on fire tracks such as “I’m Gone” and “Fuckin Right.” His debut album titled “No Contradiction” is concurrently being developed through genius producers such as KC Tha Producer, Nave Monjo, Kangol Slim and Jay Da Menace to solidify the success of his next release.
Our team has opened individually or collectively for the artists listed above, with 2016-2017 building in momentum as our team continued to make successful moves, opening for Scarface, LEVEL, ZRo at The Ayva Center in Houston, Jacquees at the House of Blues in New Orleans, and recognition of an artistic win of first place at the National Entertainment Expo 2016 in Savannah, GA. Invaluable industry and phan attention was gained at SXSW 2017 in Austin, TX. Including a happenstance, reacquaintance with Mr. Mitchell, President of Urban Network Digital.
And this indie label can’t stop riding the wave...
2018 has brought many changes to our label that generated new life and longevity to our team. We signed 2 major acts to the label, Ghaazi Ali and Tha Team, and from the jump the love from phans has been tremendous.
Ghaazi Ali is a native New Orleanian with a love of music spanning all the way back to his days at Jean Gordon Elementary where he learned to play the snare drum. He has a humble spirit and drive for success that not only impressed CO’Baby but brought a meaningful message to his attention. Ghaazi expressed his feeling of being “stuck at the bottom…and not having anybody really stop and listen to what kind of talent comes from here is a constant struggle.”
CO’Baby listened. A couple tracks were exchanged between artist and record label owner that led to the eventual signing of Ghaazi Ali to Phreedom Records LLC.
Since then, Ghaazi Ali is no longer “unknown.” He has opened for artists such as; Trina, Just Queen Brittany, Webbie, ShortyWorld, Whop Bezzy, Yung Bleu and Jim Jones. He was also given a chance to perform at a community event for Smother’s Academy, an all-boys school in Metairie, LA, where a small concert that included artists from around the city like ShortyWorld, demonstrated their craft and created a positive vibe and message for the young men.
Success is imminent as Ghaazi Ali recently dropped his first single, “Facts” and recently released his second single, “For Me," off his debut album “Now or Never.” The official video release for “Facts,” produced by Son_Production, dropped October 16, 2018 with his follow-up smash single "For Me," also produced by Son_Production, official video released December 4, 2018. Both songs have been released under The Orchard/Sony Red distribution umbrella with the release of "Facts" and "For Me" soon to take place in Korea beginning December 12, 2018.
Tha Team (K.g, G.o and Mastamynd) have a vocal mixture of talent just oozing with lyrical style and ability. Their originality as a team is enhanced by their ability to stand alone as a force of one, or as a team forging their own path, primed for greatness with hard-line bass tracks, combined with clever and masterly laid out verses, produced by KC Da Producer; one of the most sought-after and skillful engineers’ in New Orleans.
Their entrance to the music industry is as dynamic as their singles "Wave" “In My Zone” and “Benz” is to their growing fan base. Within 6 months of signing to Phreedom Records LLC, "Wave" was released on November 23, 2018 under The Orchard/Sony Red distribution umbrella, with an impressive follow-up release scheduled in Korea on December 26, 2018. The views and likes on their video "Wave;" produced in Detroit by videographer Christian Nelson, continues to climb, amplifying the idea that a new "Wave" is about to impact the current music scene.
In 2019 COBaby solidified a new business relationship with an artist he had been following for a minute, Tony Merc. A self-proclaimed “animal” to the mic, Tony Merc already came with significant accomplishments under his belt. He opened for artists like The Game, Bone Thugs N Harmony, and Nutt the Kid at high-profile venues around New Orleans such as The House of Blues, Club Lyve, The Howling Wolf, The Republic, and The Metropolitan with songs “Off Safety” and “I’m The Man.” Tony Merc’s videos for “Off Safety” and “I’m The Man” add fire visual depth to what he brings to the table that will make phans and haters sit up and take notice.
The combination of these three powerhouse acts have set Phreedom Records on the cusp of stardom, but we aren’t there yet.
The internet is continuing to dominate the breaking of new artist into mainstream artists, making new marketing and promotional relationships a must. Including our solid phamily of artists, our current professional partnerships include:
Corey “COBaby” Coleman; CEO and Founder of Phreedom Records LLC
