clary walked into the lab, walking past the tables of tools and robots to where harley was working under a light. she was being extra quiet so that he didn't hear her coming. when she did, she held a tiny plastic microphone under her chin and spoke to a non existent audience (although, she was sure jarvis was listening). "coming to you live from the tower, this is clary stark, reporting live with harley keener. what are you working on harley?" she then held the microphone out to under his chin.

Clari: *throws open the door to his room, arms extended in victory* Hello, it is I, your favorite!
"Jesus fucking Christ, Clari!" He drawled, jumping slightly at the sudden slam of the door. He didn't exactly rush to put his pants on though. "Look, I get it, you're obsessed with me and desperate to catch a glimpse, but ever heard of something called knocking?"

"it depends," clary watched jimmy taking pictures more than she watched the actual parade. "they get kind of boring after a while. i really only stick around for the performances." maybe she'd just seen too many parades during her lifetime already. "this your first time so close or something?"

At her comment Castiel huffed a breath through his nose and pressed his forehead to his palms. He opted to ignore the validity of her comment. “Why can’t we just talk about this? I can help, if you’d give me a chance you’d see!” he practically begged.

What's in a name?
Because I have no chill, too much time, and a scientist's curiosity and love of a spreadsheet I've gone through all the YouTube longforms and noted down all the names used because it felt like some came up oddly often. To vaguely justify this insanity I figured I'd share the results:
Given Names:
Used 5+ times: Hans (6), James (6), Jemima (5), John (5)
Used 3+ times: David (3), Johnny (3), Michael (3), Penelope (3), Terry (3), Toby (3)
Used 2 times: Amanda, André (both as André Beetroot but he's in two separate longforms), Bill, Clarissa, Derek, Dmitri, Gavin, Helga (there are two Helga's in the same longform), Javier, Jeff, Jimmy, Krampus (Big and Little), Lucy, Maria (one is part of Maria Clarissio as a compound name), Mark, Martha, Marty, Mary, Mildred, Otto, Peter, Rupert (Sr and Jr), Sherlock (again, the same character in two different longforms), Tarquin, Tony, Xavier
Surnames:
Used 3 times: James, Jenkins
Used 2 times: Beetroot, Holmes, Johnson, Lestrade, Moriarty, Rogers, Twilliger, Watson
General Things:
There are 172 distinct given names used across the longforms on YouTube
There are 79 distinct surnames
For given names they bloody love ones starting with J because there are 24 of those and the next closest is M with 19
The least favoured are Z, Q and U with none and E, I, O, V and W which all only have 1
For surnames most common is B, C and R which crop up 9 times each, followed by J again with 8
Their least used are F, I, N, Q, U and Z all get no entries and E, G, K and X have just the one
The longform with the most given names used is The Milkman with 9, the The Hobnob Affair and And so it Begun both with 7
The most surnames are given in The Final Baker of Baker Street with 9, then The Mystery of the Midnight Circus with 7
The longforms with the least given names are The Midnight Mystery and The Meringue Haberdashery which both only have 1 first-named character
7 longforms have no surnames in at all (Oopsy Daisy Bulge, Wine Under the Bridge, Moist & Magical, Marigolds, Bluebells & Hugh, Divorces & Teddybears, Wild, Wet & Worrisome, and Susan's Holiday)

winter wind whipped her hair into what she was sure was a giant knot at the back of her head and she'd seen in the mirrored elevator that both their cheeks had a bright pink flush to them. usually on nights like these she would have done everything to stay inside where it was warm, but to her, no where was warmer than being by harley's side.
they weren't even a floor apart, which had surprised her all things considered, and she still didn't want to part from him even for the night when it was just for a few hours. when he spoke, clary felt like he'd struck a tuning fork for a frequency only she could hear and it sang. "saints do not move, though grant for prayers’ sake," clary replied easily, tugging him closer by the hand that still held his. "we're already in trouble, come inside, romeo."
Tumblr media
it was late , past the curfew that had been imposed on both of them for sure , but harley didn't particularly care . his face burned with cold , still not used to the new york cold . the elevator had been too loud in the long empty corridors , but no one had come to check the noise , and now the two of them stood in the hallway that separated their rooms. different coloured eyes squinted both ways , being let crash at a billionaires place was wild .
❛ how about a kiss goodnight ? ❜ @heartsbreaking said and harley grinned, all teeth and southern country charm .
clary looked beautiful . he looked at her and for once his brain quieted ; no equations or words trying to form the right way to fix something . his shoulders shrugged and he did the thing that he thought would impress the actress the most. in his best impression of a man playing romeo , harley earnestly answered , ' o , then , dear saint , let lips do what hands do ; they pray , grant thou , lest faith turn to despair . '

call it what you want 🩰
coriolanus snow x fem!reader
in which mrs snow finds something she must keep. and who his coriolanus to tell her no?
-
the garden behind the presidents mansion was beautiful, no doubt about it. coriolanus snow married his wife back there and he watched her from the window of their bedroom as she worked in it in all her free time and whenever the uv was above a 7.
he insisted he hire a gardener to “protect her pretty hands” but she declined over and over again. it was her outlet. her one “real” hobby that didn’t involve hiding away in the grand library coriolanus built for her.
large green bushes she trimmed so delicately and the stone path she’d managed to put in place her self. orange, red, pink, and yellow flowers everywhere with small blue ones trickled without. coriolanus had put a picnic table in it where they ate on occasion.
the only thing she didn’t like was the fence that guarded it to keep people and cameras out. it wasn’t very pretty, but as first lady secret services insisted, and so did coriolanus. it kept her hard work from public eye and left it only to be seen in photos inside magazines that didn’t do it justice. but the fence seemed to have failed.
kneeled in dirt, her gold necklace with a ‘C’ engraved in it hanging over it, she planted strawberry seeds in hopes they’d actually be good this year. focused on what she was doing, trying to avoid a repeat of last years berries, her focus dropped as she heard a weak meow. she turned around, only to hear it again. she stood, wiping her dirty hands on her pants, walking along the path in hopes of finding the source when suddenly she saw her.
a small kitten. she was light brown with dark spots, almost like a cheetah. mrs snow had not a clue how the animal had gotten in, but it must’ve been fate, she thought. “hi,” she whispered, kneeling down and gently reaching forward. the kitten meowed and she took that as her way of saying “yes, you can pick me up.”
she held the kitten all day long, leaving her in her lap when she read and holding her in one arm as she helped one of the snow’s maids, clarissa, with a task. she was already in love with the small animal as she waited for her husband to get home, ready to beg and plead to keep it.
“hmm,” she hummed gently to the kitten. she sat in her lap at the piano, mrs snow’s fingers gently playing soft chords as she stared down at her. “what about… lorelei?” the kitten stood and did a little spin bringing a laugh out of her. “you like that?”
“like what?” coriolanus echoed from the foyer, dropping his keys on the table. “i didn’t know you were having company, darli-”
“suprise,” she said with a smile, standing from the bench, holding the kitten to her chest. “i found her in the garden. i don’t know how she got in but,” she frowned, running a finger down her nose. “it rained last night, it must’ve been awful.”
coriolanus stood over her, a firm hand on her shoulder. “well, you must know we can’t keep it,” he said as if it was obvious. his hand brushed over his wife’s head, refusing to acknowledge the cat because he was sure if he did he’d give in.
“no i don’t. why can’t we?” she moved out from his touch, holding the kitten up to his eyes. “please, coryo?”
“no,” he swallowed, doing his best not to give into her temptation. they couldn’t have a cat. it didn’t seem… scary to him. not presidential, not like the pet of a man who led a country and 12 districts.
but his wife was persistent. she frowned up at him, holding the cat to her chest as she purred. “coryo,” she whined. “look at her. she’s just a baby. her mom was out of sight, i looked, and she already likes me. she even picked out her name.”
“i said-”
“please?” she gave him her best puppy eyes, her free hand on his chest.
coriolanus bit the inside of his cheek before sighing. “i guess.” he stumbled back as his wife pulled him into a side hug, kissing his cheek over and over again. red lipstick prints covered his face as she offered him the cat which he took with a small smirk. “what name did she pick?”
“lorelei,” she smiled.
“hm,” he nodded, holding the creature awkwardly. “i like it.” after a few moments he looked up. “you’re impossible to say no to, you know that?”
his wife only smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder. “you love me.”
“you’re a master manipulator and i’m an easy target or i love you, call it what you want.”
“i’ll call it you love me,” she said, standing on her tiptoes to kiss him softly.
“then i guess i’ll call it that, too,” he said, his arm holding her close to him as the pair smiled at the new member of their family.

My Darling
Lady Lesso x F!Ever reader
Warnings: Angst with a happy ending? Words: 1028
Tumblr media
Panic filled your heart. The school that had been just crumbling down was no longer doing so. It had repaired itself. You hadn't been with the other teachers and you didn’t know where anyone was. The ballroom in the Ever tower was empty and you had searched almost everywhere.
“Nora, Nora. Where are you?” you shouted as you ran throughout the empty halls, your heels clacking on granite floors while your long dress flowed behind you. “Oh god, please be ok. I can’t lose you too.” You said just above a whisper.
After searching the entire Ever tower you finally reached the library. You slammed the doors open, your breath was heavy and skin flushed from all the running. The whole library was askew. Displays destroyed, paintings far from their places, and books all across the floor.
Spotting no one in the mess that was the library, you ran out of the tower and onto the bridge. The wind blew your hair every which way while you ran across the bridge towards the scorched school. You were hoping and praying that you would be able to be held in her arms again.
Bursting through the doors of the school and up several flights of stairs. When you heard the faint laughter and chattering of students you followed it. Running towards the sound as fast as your legs would carry you and as your dress would let you. The closer you got to the sound the stronger the ache in your legs grew and a million thoughts raced in your head at once.
Once you reached the location of all the sounds of laughter and happiness. You opened the large black doors, chest heaving and skin even more flushed than before. Your eyes swept over the room and the thoughts running around your head came to stop when your (e/c) eyes met her gray ones. You smiled while you slowed your breathing walking into the room. Approaching Clarissa you tapped her on the shoulder.
“(Y/n),” Clarissa enveloped you into a tight hug that was so tight she was practically suffocating you.”thank goodness you're ok. I was so worried when we couldn’t find you.” After getting Clarissa to calm down and stop fussing over you. You got the rundown of what had happened to cause all of this.
Throughout the night while everyone mingled, good and evil, you kept glancing at the Dean for Evil. As badly as you wanted to run into her arms and be at her side. You know she valued her reputation, you did as well. Strictly speaking Evers and Nevers still weren’t allowed to date.
~
As the activities for the night settled down. Students filled their dorms. Some good and some evil. Everyone was far too exhausted from the day's events. Teachers and students alike took to rooms within the evil tower.
Unbeknownst to you, Clarissa noticed the fleeting glances you kept taking to look at the dean and she had a plan up her sleeve. As quickly as the students left to room with their new friends, so did the teachers. You and Leonora were all too quickly left alone. As soon as the last teacher left the room and you heard the door close.
Your eyes met her gray ones once again and she dropped her cane while you ran into her arms, longing to be in her embrace. As soon as your bodies met her arms wrapped around your smaller frame and yours around her larger one.
Taking a short moment for yourselves, you both just stood there in the comfort of each other's arms. She pulled back slightly, arms still wrapped around your waist and you did so as well albeit reluctantly.
Looking up at her, you smiled and she smiled back. Putting your hands on her chest you were just so overjoyed that she was ok. She was here in front of you breathing and smiling.
“Oh, Darling,” she pulled you back into her arms cradling your head, “My darling I was so worried when we couldn’t find you. I don't know what I would have done without you.” She loosened her grip and you pulled back to look at her.
“Nora, I’m just fine, I went all over looking for you but I couldn’t find you. I was worried that you had hurt yourself, you already have a bad knee, you don't need to hurt anything else.” You laughed slightly while you played with her coat a bit.
You both pulled back from the hug and just looked at each other for a bit. Hand in hand. You broke eye contact and started to giggle and she followed shortly after breaking her strong demeanor.
“ I didn’t think I could love you more than I did but you just proved me wrong.” You laughed out with a sigh.
Leonora put her fingers under your chin and moved it up to look at her. For a moment you could have sworn time stopped as she connected her lips to yours. You moved your arms to wrap around her neck and her arms found their way to your waist. You never wanted this moment to end but alas it had to.
You both parted for air and you put your forehead against hers.
“Leonora Lesso,” you whispered to her while she looked at you with nothing but complete love and adoration. “You are my happily ever after, and I don’t care how crazy that makes me. But if loving you makes me evil then so be it.” You smiled at her while she pulled away.
With a swish of her finger faint music started playing and she swept you up into a waltz.
“And you, my darling princess, are my happily ever after. I don't care how good it makes me.” She told you as she dipped you down her eyes never leaving yours.
Dancing the night away as you both had wanted to do for hours, not caring who saw anymore. You both eventually walked back to her chambers and you fell asleep tangled in each other's arms knowing you both had each other and needed nothing more.

boyfriend, shyly: can I be your field trip buddy?
me: YOU'RE THE BEST FIELD TRIP BUDDY IN THE WORLD 💞
