I have conjured a slugcat in my mind and my computer files that I like, though I also fear they're an overdone or overpowered type of slugcat. The Tamer- a Slugcat that looks similar to a lizard (they don't have a lizard head they just look similar to a lizard in some regards) and has an easier time befriending lizards.
Though if anyone does want me to in depth on them I can, not right now though I'm going to bed.
Also need to explain the warrior and the pilgrim but that's for a long au of recreating landscapes and reimagining an entire games plot later. All you'll get for now is that their iterators are more or less dead, pilgrim is orange and warrior is green

I can now unload every single variant of the tamer upon you (however I might change their design a bit, keep certain aspects of the lizards and take out the head spikes for the most part? I don't really like those much ngl But yeah. The Tamer. They are truly a creature.
Don't really have an idea for a campaign for them, but I do have other ideas:
-White Lizard Look is their default variant, as they can camoflague into other types like a white lizard. Black Lizard is also their default because they just need to close their eyes for an extended period to activate that camoflague
-Because they can't just lose their legs they cannot camoflague with Eel Lizards.
-They are most at home with groups of Yellow Lizards, as the drawback to being lizard-like is that Lizards are territorial. Except Yellows they hunt in packs and communicate telepathically.
-They can't spit or use a tongue like certain types of lizards, nor can they climb walls, but they can mimic the noises of lizards.
-If they're not being territorial they can tame a lizard slightly easier than the average slugcat.
yeah that's about all I'm gonna put here rn

I can't leave you all without an image of them
The impossible variant- Train Lizard Tamer
I have variants of them for all lizards except eels
