I’ve had velocitygrass’ blueprint maker in my game for the longest time and haven’t done anything with it, so I decided to bite the bullet and make a start on pumping out some lil pre made rooms to make the building process that little bit easier for me. figured I might as well share, so here you go.

this room can be found in the blueprints category of build/buy mode under bedrooms. just place it down, click to build/buy mode again, hit ‘realize’ and the room will pop up on your lot.

please note there are a few items missing in the actual blueprint! the blueprint system in the sims 3 is not perfect by any means, and I’m pretty sure I read that objects from blueprints disappearing occurs for people even with the ea blueprints already in the game. from memory it’s the end table and a few pieces of clutter missing, but you’ll still get them in your game by downloading this. sorry!! nothing I or the mod creator can possibly do about that as far as I’m aware, and at least you’ve got the majority of it.

Some tips for The Sims 3 Buy/Build

Install LazyDuchess’ Smooth Patch to alleviate lag, esp in Buy/Build and CAS.

Keep your CC merged and organized, esp your patterns, this will also alleviate a lotta lag across all modes.

When building on community lots, or any lot rlly, avoid going to the edit world menu, and just put testingcheats enabled into the cheat window, then shift+click the ground of the lot to enter Buy/Build mode. This makes leaving it to save a lot easier, with less “preparing” screens to possibly get hung up in.

Lower your settings, you don’t need any adjacent lots loaded, and you certainly don’t need super water on either. You can always switch these back on when you’re done.

While you’re at it, remove your HQ mod, and turn off your Reshade/Gshade preset, or at least turn off your depth shaders. I only ever turn on my depth shaders when I’m taking screenshots for better fps while playing. The DoF shader esp requires a lotta resources your game could be using to simulate all those 78 townie sims instead.

Save as… vs Save, I Save as… at least every third save. It’s also just good habit to keep backups.

When using the CASt tool, set down everything you plan to CASt first, then switch to a category like the wall tool to avoid eventual lag and drag when using it a lot. Love yourself. You don’t have to suffer using CASt tool in an overpopulated category like misc deco.

Utilize the clone option through testing cheats to duplicate already CASted objects, it’ll keep your design just like the dropper tool, but it’s a lot less time consuming, I promise.

Don’t be afraid to use the swatch save tool for objects you use often, esp community lot objects, as it helps to keep your aesthetic consistent. I also keep all of my favorite streetlamps, benches, and public trash bins etc in a convenient custom collection folder to speed up the process of doing multiple lots in one sitting. These handy tools are there, use them.

The issue with custom counters. They mess up sometimes, if you can’t recolor it suddenly, here’s how to fix that. Now if you can’t place down a cupboard suddenly, even though nothing’s in the way, and you’ve got moveobjects on activated, try putting it on the wall a tile over, and then try adding it to your desired spot again. Lastly if you set down counters or cupboards at a corner, and it messes up the textures, but you can still recolor it, you could do what the video I linked above does, or you could simply pull out the CASt tool, and switch it back to any of its original swatches and click the check, then feel free to recolor it as you want.

Railings will also do the “can’t recolor” trick too, but this is a simple fix, just delete it, and replace it, and you’re good.

“Oh no, I switched between buy and build mode, and now my catalogue won’t load, and I can’t click on anything at all!” Don’t panic, hit F2 and/or F3 on your keyboard, these are shortcuts for switching between them, and if you’re lucky it’ll load properly again. Should you get the bug where you load a category and it’s somehow empty, don’t fret, just click on a different category and this should fix it. Then if you get the bug where all the objects you put down disappear suddenly, sorry your game is haunted. Call an exorcist, or just reload, they might reappear if you do.

Tbh, if you run into any kind of major bugs, it’s likely a sign to either save immediately or just restart your game. These only ever show up when you’ve been at it a while ( at least for me ), therefore starting fresh wouldn’t hurt. Probably also wouldn’t hurt to check whether you might’ve installed something the game didn’t agree with by running Dashboard, or put it through the ol’ Save Cleaner.

Honorable Mention: Keep an eye on the texture sizes and poly counts of objects. I know it’s tempting to build these ultra hyperrealistic lots with clutter at every inch, but unless you’re just doing it for screenshots, or for your story, or using it very sparingly, it is not by any means recommended purely for gameplay. This is just the truth when it comes to any Sims game. You don’t want lag, or max memory crashes, or save errors? The Sims 3 is a 32bit game, that’s almost old enough to drive, be easy on it.

Titans!Jason Todd/fem!reader angst/fluff (TW: Suicide Mention/Attempt)

A faint breeze blows along your cheeks as you open the door, eyes glazing over a broad horizon full of dreary skies and rooftops. You find who you’re looking for standing ontop of a metallic platform framing along the edge of the building, his downturned head peering down at the dense, vacant streets below.

A long, harsh, catastrophic drop with just the wrong step.

Confusion rattled your mind when you wondered exactly what the hell was going on, never seeing such a trifling event happen in the common area. Millions of questions followed once you heard the screaming.

A million more followed suit when you walked in on the hostile environment, the air thick with static tension.

“You people are insane!” He had cried out by the second you entered the room, surprised to find a short crowd of people against him. Friends, colleagues, all glaring at him with accusations you didn’t fully hear.

“I’d rather be with Deathstroke than you assholes,” Jason states with an emotional quiver in his tone, growing more detectable towards the end of his words. “You think everything’s my fault.”

“Jason?” You call out to him, seeing his head lightly peek over his shoulder. Whether he heard you or not, he knew you arrived once the door was slammed shut behind you due to the wind.

“What do you want?” He asks with understandable bitterness wrapped up in a solemn tone, as if you were a stranger he could’ve cared less about.

Technically, you and Jason were colleagues for a long time, but never really reached the category of friends.

He was an obnoxious, painfully reckless Robin, but he was good. You were good, training yourself to set your differences aside to put the tasks at hand. You provided data, not violence.

The task now was to set those barriers of yours down with intentions to knock on his.

“To talk.” You reply, not wanting to approach further than you had to, but a huge part of you wanted to go further.

“Look. I don’t wanna hear any more bullshit—“

“Not about that,” you insist. “Just to talk, that’s all.”

To talk, to buy time. Anything.

Waves of guilt coursed through your veins for him, for his safety. The strong winds could easily sweep him off his feet if he allowed it, the tension in his braced legs preventing him from slipping off the ledge he stood on for now.

“You shouldn’t be here,” Jason states, his lungs burning with reach trembling breath he took. “The others think you’re crazy following me out here.”

“I don’t care what they think,” was your response, rooftop gravel crunching underneath your shoe as you took a slow step forward. “I don’t want you to be alone out here. That’s what matters.”

“Why?” He questions, refusing to turn around and face you with full disbelief on his face. “You hate me. You can’t stand me every time I’m around. No one can.”

“That’s not true,” you shake your head, slowly getting yourself to take another step forward. About four feet of distance remained between you and Jason, your mind cluttered with ideas on how to get him

“Jason, I don’t hate you.”

“You don’t need to lie to me,” Jason mutters, not believing you for a good second. You understood that he wouldn’t trust anyone after what you witnessed. You didn’t want to be on that side.

The steel frames were tall enough for you to hop up yourself, but the height was unnerving.

He remained quiet, pondering his rancid emotions running nonstop in his head. He felt himself nothing but poison; black pitch that stuck to everyone who so much as touched him, costing their skin like a cancer until it killed them.

That’s what was happening now, wasn’t it? Everyone was hating him, blaming him for things he didn’t understand. Now, here you were, coming up to add onto the pile. He assumed that on the spot. Why else were you here?

Bracing your hands along the beam, you push yourself up on it, fighting back your fear of heights to put yourself into this vulnerable position. Thinking slowly, you ponder over what else you could do, thinking over in your mind.

“Wanna sit?” You say, hoping he’d take the hand that offered such an innocent suggestion. “Talking is easier to do when sitting.”

To show this, you move into a sitting position beside him, feeling a little less tense on your concerns for falling. Jason doesn’t take the bait at first, only wondering as to why you were still even trying with him.

“You don’t need to be here,” he reverberates, but you weren’t going to have it.

“Neither do you,” you glanced up at him, seeing his attention fully focused on you, sitting beside him as of the ledge was just an every day public park bench.

Reluctantly, he shifts his position, leaving you to thank the Gods. With Jason sitting, you had much better control and opportunity to catch him, with the roof behind you to break both your fall.

“Do you want the truth?” You hesitantly ask, wondering if that’s what he needed. Someone who didn’t follow the others, who didn’t view him as a scapegoat to their problems, just because the unintentional category he fell into without realizing.

Just a glance of his bruised face in your direction after staring ahead for so long gave you the sign, smoothing your sweaty palms over thighs.

“You can be… obnoxious sometimes,” you proceed, slowly making the decision to proceed. “But not dark, or annoying, or… Look. I don’t get why they accused you on the spot. I really don’t.”

Silence continued to rattle his physique. His shifting head slowly peering downwards after hearing your words. His heartbeat began drumming in his head, his lungs burning with an irritated sting, his throat going dry.

“I might not like how you are, Jason,” you blatantly confess, “But I tolerate you enough to understand that you didn’t deserve this.”

There it was. Catching him off guard by cold facts, only to soothe the blow with truth. Your truth, the truth that should matter.

Not everyone was against him.

A part of him appreciates it, but at the same time, he grew irritated at your persistence to tell him what he already knew. It only made his feelings for you that much harder to understand.

He was supposed to not like you.

You were smart, yes. You popped one liners when you helped relay information to the Titans, read books and kept journals by yourself during your free time, and listened to music when you were in desperate need of relief after plenty of audible overstimulation.

The way you had your hair styled on different days, your persistence of spraying perfume on yourself before going to bed.

You weren’t loud, you weren’t overtly quiet. You respected business and boundaries, despite your job to hack and defy the purpose of them behind a computer screen.

He hated how unique yet simple you were. No one would suspect you of your talents, balancing your double life with little to mo effort.

“You don’t deserve this, Jason,” you say in order to remind him, watching his calloused fingers slowly flexing in his lap, signifying his various difficult emotions. You’d say it as many times as you needed to, to ram it into his every day thoughts.

“I don’t hate you,” you shake your head, peering at his battered, slowly healing face. “And… maybe I don’t entirely hate just how annoying you are. Sometimes, it makes things fun on a boring night.”

The corner of his busted lip rose in a faint, subtle smile. That made an interesting amount of sense. Maybe he was the type to irritate you on purpose, especially during his much earlier days.

His much earlier, flirtier Robin days.

“How annoying?”

Maybe, just maybe, being his friend didn’t sound like such a bad idea.

“Horribly,” you instantly reply as it became your turn to smile. “I mean it. Every day I wake up and dread what stupid thing you’d say next. What could you possibly say today for me to cringe at.”

If the both of you weren’t sitting on the edge of a building, Jason would have half a heart to nudge you with his shoulder. But, he knew your fear of heights.

“You think of me?”

“It’s hard not to, Jay.”

“Did I miss a party?” You announce as you enter the dark, gloomy hallway, coming to an abrupt halt at the sight of two tall men talking to one another. A pile of unconscious bodies explaining their rigorous treatments just moments before you arrived.

“You missed the fun,” Jason chides, an amused smirk quickly growing on his face. The first full bodied smile Tim had seen on Jason since they met.

“A little earlier, you coulda joined in on your kickass computer skills.”

“Oh, ha ha,” you say, catching sight of Jason’s said laptop abandoned on the ground, bits of broken glass hinting at an unsalvageable screen. “Looks like someone beat me to it already.”

“It’s you.” Tim’s voice makes your head raise, giving the man a smile as you take in his Robin uniform.

“It’s me,” you reply, feeling a nostalgic flutter in your chest upon seeing that uniform worn by someone new. “I see Dick passed on the torch. How’s it feel?”

“He’s learning fast,” Jason gestures with a raised finger before pointing towards the bodies. “Very fast.”

“I see that.”

Ever since you had made the choice to step back from your position with the Titans a while back, life had gotten more chaotic in very unexpected ways.

You changed; in heart, in mind, in maturity.

You’ve grieved your best friend’s death, silently took pleasure in violent justice in the deaths of those who’ve betrayed and harmed your colleagues. You grieved once more when masks were unveiled, and even aided the wrong crowds for a while.

At your age, you’ve seen it all, you’ve learned from other peoples mistakes, as well as your own. You hated it, but accepted the lessons learned. As off as that sounds, that’s the best way you could describe it.

You kept in touch with Dick when he needed the help from the ‘attractive computer geek,’ so you were at least aware of what was going on. Hearing it all from Tim’s perspective brought back the times when you used to work alongside a particular ex-Robin, who remained standing close to your side during all topics of discussion.

“I got to meet the great Red Hood,” you watched with a smile a few steps up on the staircase as Tim prods Jason’s chest in a friendly manner, causing a flare in his ego as he chuckles in response.

“Don’t forget her,” Jason gestures his head up towards you, Tim’s eyes catching the faint flush in your cheeks.

“Poor girl’s kept us from running around with our heads cut off for years.”

“Always gotta respect the tech workers,” Tim agrees with a nod, making you scoff in amusement. “At least you didn’t call me ‘customer support’. That’s Grayson’s favorite.”

You said you were leaving when Tim was considerate to offer you a ride, but you brush off that you had your own, intending to head out for a date in two hours.

But, you weren’t.

The Titans, old or new, didn’t need to know all your secrets, regardless if cracking them was your specialty.

“You gave him your bike?” You ask once he gets off the phone with said old bird, approaching him as he gazed up at a clear board with various equations scrawled on the surface.

“Just sits there getting dust in the corner. I trust him to take care of it.” Jason sips at his dark drink once more before trailing off to the side, setting the bottle down.

“Still on for tomorrow night?” Jason asks, watching smile form on your face. The date. It was kinda true.

“Of course. Just came by to get my lipgloss.” You smirk, raising up your cherry flavored lip product you had to fetch from under his bed where it had rolled. “Forgot it here last night, remember?”

“How could I ever.” Jason replies with a lowered rumble, recalling all the memories of the night prior, involving getting sticky, glittery cherry gloss along his lips, leaving remnants of it smeared on his neck after a very short, sexually tense conversation.

“Kinda thought you’d wear a scarf when you showed up,” he teases as he approached, amused at your eye roll.

“I don’t do scarves, Todd,” you state, feeling it harder to fight off a smile. Your hands ease off your hips to settle across Jason’s broad shoulders.

“Whatever you say, shortcake.”

By now, you should take up a job at being a makeup counter girl, especially considering how well you managed to cover up your hickies over the span of many, many months.

Your nose lightly brushes with his, his lips merely missing yours on purpose, planting a single kiss on the corner of your mouth before holding you closer, your hips smugly fitting into his hands.

You were a breath of fresh, rainstorm air after a dark storm, your perfume clinging to his clothes for days.

“Was thinkin’,” he murmurs. “We’d try to reenact last night for our date night.”

“Hmm, with a different flavor?”

“You taste a lot better without it.”

You giggle, settling your hands along his back to keep secure in this comforting embrace.

“You think of me like that?” The words softly leave your lips.

He smiles down at you, his eyes full of warmth and comfort in your presence, cradling your right cheek after fixing a bit of your hair. He can’t help but shift attention to your pretty lips; perfect petal soft skin that displayed the prettiest of smiles to his god awful humor.

“It’s hard not to, babe.”

when I used to babysit a lot I came up with a trick to get kids to clean up that I have recently realized works pretty well for my ADHD brain too. with the kids I called it the junkyard game—you start by making a junkyard i.e. a big pile in the middle of the room of all the stuff that isn't where it belongs, and then somebody comes to the junkyard who wants to take all the books, and then someone wants all the clothes, and then whatever other categories of stuff there's a lot of in the pile. it's easier for kids (and my ADHD brain) to avoid getting overwhelmed when they're focusing on one category at a time, and it's easier to sort stuff out of a designated pile than to go around the room collecting one item at a time; it's also encouraging to be able to see the pile getting smaller as you clear out the most abundant categories. then at the end you wind up with a more manageably-sized pile of the stuff that demands cognitive effort, like things that don't have a dedicated home yet or things that require further action (e.g. I tend to leave empty packaging out on the counter as a reminder to buy more of the thing). if I encounter those higher-effort things while trying to clean up the room, I often get distracted by dealing with the associated task and never finish cleaning, so when there's a lot of clutter that needs to be dealt with it's better for me to have a system that delays the cognitive work until after I've broken down all the cardboard boxes and shelved all the books and corralled a perpetually shocking number of writing implements from various surfaces. I think it's also helpful to physically move things from where they've been sitting for however long, because my brain gets used to glazing over them so it requires executive function resources to break past that and engage.

(of course the risk with ADHD brains is that you make a pile and then the pile just stays there, but no solution is perfect XD)

"Flower Shop" - BTAS!Riddler,Dano!Riddler,Arkham!Riddler and ZY!Riddler x Fem!Reader

A flower shop au? In 2024? And several MONTHS late?! Lets do it! I'm not going to lie to you, even though I've been around for flower shop aus, I don't ever remember getting into them when I was younger? So that being said, I really hope I've captured it right!

His flower shop is immaculate. Neat, plants organized by category and then sub-organized by color. Has a small greenhouse focused on more delicate or rare flowers that need special care. Due to his technological prowess, everything is automated to an exact science, down to moisture readers in the soil of the potted plants. Has an eye for arranging bouquets.

He has a criminal past and managed to elude law enforcement on his path to revenge. Instead of going right back to games and puzzles, he opted to lay low. He's successful, but how successful is a flower shop that it gains renown? It's perfect for his intentions.

You catch his eye when you come in and look around. You'd noticed the flowers from the outside and felt yourself being pulled in. After a lovely conversation that made his heart flutter, he just assumed he wouldn't see you again. Such a delightful woman never seems to accept all of him. And yet... you do. You ask questions. You appreciate him and what he is. When the time is right, he'll tell you the truth.

Flowers has been the thing to bring you together. What he plans to do to show his affections will take time- He works. He plots and designs and creates numerous genetic charts. And once the time he right he reveals the symbol of his love for you- A brand new rose variety. It's color and petals are soft. He names it after you.

2022

Hyperfixation career. In this au, there had to be a special moment in which plants became just as much of a comfort area as numbers. Perhaps something about raising them and nurturing them to bloom when he was in the orphanage? Creating something beautiful from nothing. Maybe if he keeps growing these plants, something can grow inside the void in his chest... It's not his shop, but the owner likes how dedicated he is- down to Edward's complex understanding of accounting and statistical numbers that's increased profit exponentially.

He really watches you from afar in the shop at first. The pretty woman who just moved into Gotham, looking to buy a bouquet for herself. He listens in on his boss talking to you, asking general chatty questions. His biggest takeaway is that you're alone... just like him. So when you keep coming in for new flowers, he's enamored.

Very much crushing from afar and if you asked him any questions, he'd make a bouquet that's basically a love confession in flower form- Aster, gardenias, white roses, red chrysanthemum... The actual presentation is a little messy. But it's made with such feeling it's difficult to not find it beautiful; Even if you're not sure of the meaning just yet.

In this au, he'd likely only make a move if someone else was moving in on you or if you expressed interest first. Otherwise, he'd keep a lot of his feelings to the flowers... and his totally not creepy online blog he runs where he talks about injustice and numbers and now you :)

Dumb side thought, if any of these guys was a Seymour from Little Shop, it'd be 2022. Except he was probably killing people already, this is just easier body disposal.

Arkham

He's so gruff but his flowers and plants are so lovely. Really, it's the only reason people keep going in to get them from him. His shop is dimly lit other than UV lamps and the scarce sunlight that filters through the front window for the flowers that need it. It's clean but... cluttered. There's never an instance where he doesn't have dirt and mud on his clothing. Overall, it's pretty unwelcoming for a store. Even the nursery outside is well taken care of but reminiscent of a garden to get lost in.

When you bring him a dying plant that you're desperately trying to keep alive, he looks... annoyed. Hand it over. Obviously you don't know what you're doing. Why even bother buying it if you're not going to learn to take care of it? When you tell him it was a sentimental gift, he pauses. Come back later, he'll have written instructions on how to take care of it.

If someone were to snoop, they'd find that this version of the Riddler was once something of a prodigy. Brilliant with technology and numbers. Yet he was obsessive. Couldn't stand to lose. So when he did, he couldn't accept it. Some... bad things happened and he left the game. He's vague about it. Says the other person cheated. Better to leave it alone.

When you come back in with photos showing you followed every instruction he gave you and the plant flourishing... That's when he starts getting feelings. Hey, young lady, do you- Do you perhaps need a job? He has an opening and you seem competent. He can pay you competitive rates for... whatever it is you're wasting your time on now. Then you'll be close.

Zero Year

Similar to BTAS, Zero Years shop is meticulous and filled with devices he created himself to take care of the plants automatically. He hardly needs staff- yet found himself hiring in case there are clients he doesn't want to deal with. A lot of this is a cover for the hacking and other illegal shit he pulls for giggles and his own ego. It's not nearly the same grandiose level of his crimes in the comics, but it's not nothing.

He can rattle off the taxonomy of anything inside or outside the shop. Tell you the historical and cultural significance if it has any. His flower language game is insane. This results in both flirty messages that no one seems to understand in this bouquets or scathing insults the morons will never figure out.

When you show up, he's shoving away the morons working for him to see to you himself. In his mind, it was very smooth and you probably didn't even notice. In reality, it was very obvious that he was barreling his employee over to talk to you. What were you looking for, sweetheart, hm? Tulips for your mother? Congratulatory bouquet for a coworker? ...He looks slightly annoyed- Roses for a lover? When he finds out it's just for your home. Yellow daffodils, summer savory, coral roses- He picks everything out himself, complimentary colors. He gives it to you for free with a wink.

When you come back another day insisting on actually buying something, he knows he has you. Did you know that giving someone an orchid is a sign of thoughtfulness and charm? He has a whole collection of them if you want to see. Private. If you really want to pay, that's fine. But at least take your pick of your favorite color. He insists ;)
