Update #50
New promotion and new love?...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kennedy was going for the CEO position in the company, a highly competitive position, so she did the same thing she always did and seduced her boss, Efrain. He felt guilty after they had woohoo because he was married. He confessed to his wife, who decided to give him a second chance provided he didn't interact with Kenny again. The easiest way to not interact with her anymore was to promote her out of working for him.
To celebrate her promotion, Kenny went out to a karaoke bar. While she was there she ran into Mia and they had a few drinks together and chatted. They also sang a duet on the karaoke machine. Mia was obviously incredible since she is a musician, which Kenny found very impressive. They went outside to get some fresh air and things got flirty. They started making out then Mia invited Kenny back to her place where they made out some more and then woohooed.

"he literally killed people" I think the spirit of sashey possessed me here sorry chat
at its core, kaiho's story is about grief, about healing, about learning he can take up space. kaiho has felt guilty his entire life; he's been trying to serve others in hopes to justify his existence, to somehow make it up to his dead mother, but he can't. he can't make it up to her, he can't make it up to efrain, he can't make it up to sofia, he can't make it up to joseph—they're dead. but he remains, and he has to live
trying to close kaiho's arc is so hard for me bc he literally killed people... like yeah his thing is he feels this crushing guilt that makes him seek death unless there's someone he feels the need to protect and he'll devote himself to them until he falls apart and that's bad maybe he should get on the path to healing! but also he literally killed people like idk maybe he does deserve to be miserable for the rest of his life

@efrainglynwarren.
some professor sat around, softly speaking with drinks in hands and papers across the tables. something like a ‘study group’ but more of a grading and chatting group. some had more work than others, the flip side were lesson planning. a few got up to get more for the others, leaving herself and the ‘efrain’ teacher alone. adeline passed a warm smile to the table, she’d heard rather good things about him. nothing wild, that was good. “are you enjoying the evening professor?” she questioned, her chin propping up onto her hand.

Los Otros Marmolejos
April 28th
Day 247: I was sitting outside this morning sipping my coffee and enjoying the mild temperature when my phone began to buzz. It was my counselor Maria Doris calling to inform me that I would be changing houses today. This was unexpected news as I thought I would be finishing my exchange with Marlen. But she told me that Marlen had to go to Bogota for the week and would be very occupied in the coming month with work, so she would not have time for me.
I would be changing to Antonio’s brother Efrain’s house. The family is more than kind so I was not worried about the change at all. But I was a little annoyed by being alerted on such short notice. So my relaxed Saturday turned into a day of packing. It is not an easy or fast job packing up your entire life into three suitcases (which ended up being more like five). I do not know how I am going to make it back to the US with all of my things.
I finally finished the last of my packing around six. Just as I sat down to take a breather, Marlen called for me. Socorro was here and ready to take me home. So much for a moment of relaxation. So we loaded my bags into her car and drove to Sajonia to their house located a block away from the Marmolejo’s. Efrain and his son Fransisco helped me bring my bags into my new room. Then we sat down around the kitchen table for a coffee and chat.
They each told me a bit about themselves. I shared about myself as well. Efrain is the father. He is an orthodontist but isn’t currently practicing because he is the Rotary District Governor this year. This is the highest position in the entire district which encompasses more than half of Colombia. This year he has been busy overseeing projects and Rotary as a whole while having to travel to every single of the 81 Rotary clubs in the district. It is no small job.
Socorro, the mother, is a trained lawyer who is currently working in the tourism industry. Fransisco the son is studying medicine at one of the universities in Tulua. We were friends before I joined their family so he is very easy to talk too. The family also has the oldest yellow lab that I have ever encountered. Princess is sixteen, eats only mush, and can barely stand up from a sitting position. But she is such a sweet creature and I am happy to be in a household with a dog again.
Each time an exchange student enters a new family they are supposed to go over a few basic questions to establish a baseline for the new relationship. None of my previous families did this and with Efrain and Socorro I didn’t either. Instead we just had a conversation where we got to know each other, free from a sheet of questions. And they were so interested in getting to know me and who I am. I can already tell that we are going to have a wonderful time together.

Twitter’s newest feature is reigniting the ‘iPhone vs Android’ war
Twitter’s newest feature is reigniting the flame war between iOS and Android owners.
The U.S. social media company’s latest addition is a subtle piece of information that shows the client that each tweet is sent from. In doing so, the company now displays whether a user tweets from the web or mobile and, if they are on a phone, whether they used Twitter’s iOS or Android apps, or a third-party service.
The feature — which was quietlyenabled on Twitter’s mobile clients earlier this month; it has long been part of the TweetDeck app — has received a mixed response from users since CEO Jack Dorsey spotlighted it.
Some are happy to have additional details to dig into for context, for example, whether a person is on mobile or using third-party apps, but others believe it is an unnecessary addition that is stoking the rivalry between iOS and Android fans.
Source information back in the tweets pic.twitter.com/q5Qp7U8oS2
— jack (@jack) December 20, 2018
Interestingly, the app detail isn’t actually new. Way back in 2012 — some six years ago — Twitter stripped out the information as part of a series of changes to unify users across devices, focus on service’s reading experience and push people to its official apps where it could maximize advertising reach.
That was a long time ago — so long that TechCrunch editor-in-chief Matthew Panzarino was still a reporter when he wrote about it; he and I were at another publication altogether — and much has changed at Twitter, which has grown massively in popularity to reach 330 million users.
Back in 2012, Twitter was trying to reign in the mass of third-party apps that were popular with users in order to centralize its advertising to get itself, and its finances, together before going public. Twitter’s IPO happened in 2013 and it did migrate most users to its own apps, but it did a terrible job handling developers and thus, today, there are precious few third-party apps. That’s still a sore point with many users, since the independent apps were traditionally superior with better design and more functions. Most are dead now and Twitter’s official apps reign supreme.
Many Twitter users may not be aware of the back story, so it is pretty fascinating to see some express uncertainty at displaying details of their phone. Indeed, a number of Android users lamented that the new detail is ‘exposing’ their devices.
Here’s a selection of tweets:

While it may increase arguments between mobile’s two tribes, the feature has already called out brands and ambassadors using the ‘wrong’ device. Notable examples including a Korean boyband sponsored by LG using iPhones or the Apple Music team sending a tweet via an Android device. Suddenly spotting these mismatches is a whole lot easier.

gilmar‌:
Gil kept his gaze mostly ahead as they wandered, but he turned to look at her and throw her a genuine smile at her gesture. “You’re most kind, Ms. Thalra.”
He walked inside, taking in their surroundings. It was one of warm colors, wood and a roof full of hanging plants, very unlike the rather stony interior that was the common sight in Khaggon. There were a few patrons already seated with foods and drinks of their own, each one looking more appetizing and magical than the last. It was a most wonderous side.
With a quick chat to one of the employees, a purple-haired gnomish lad, they were seated in one of the seats further into the surprisingly big café.
“I’m not a knight, Ms. Thalra,” he replied as he sat down across from her, “just a squire for now. It’s most perceptive of you, though! A recent development, but one I am excited for.” He had to stop himself from doing a bit of a victory dance at the memories. “I am actually  training under Sir Efrain Crayhorn. A great fella, that one!”
The same gnome came over, big smile on his face and two menus in hand, which he handed them in his flitting about from table to table like a moth to a lantern.
Tumblr media
Thalra sat at the table and admired the atmosphere of the cafe for a few moments, wondering why she’d never stopped by such a place before now. She supposed she’d have to taste their tea still, and judge how well they made their pastries before she made any real judgments. Sometimes a place was all aesthetics and no substance. She’d no a thing or two about that in her line of work.
Then Gil spoke again and Thalra froze momentarily. She blinked at him a few times, shock evident on her face like she might have misheard him. Quickly though, her expression was overtaken by a mirthful smile. “Efrain Crayhorn, huh? The world really is so small.”
Thalra read over the menu carefully, uncaring of the amount of time she was spending just going through their drinks. Occasionally, she’d ask the gnome who’d given them the menus about the ingredients in the tea, and if they were locally sourced. He listed off the ingredients dutifully, and told Thalra that of course they were locally sourced, they lived in a mountain. “Fantastic,” Thalra replied with a grin. “I’ll have the hot spiced tea, please.”
Once the gnome was gone, Thalra turned back to Gil. “So, tell me about Sir Efrain. What do you think of him? Don’t be afraid to be honest, I’m very good at keeping secrets.”

The Angels’ Managerial Search
By Jeff Todd | October 20, 2018 at 10:03pm CDT
We’re tracking all of the managerial hiring situations around the league with team-specific posts, and it’s time to introduce one for the Angels. Mike Scioscia just wrapped up a 19-year tenure with the organization that included a whopping ten-year, $50MM contract — a managerial pact that’s still without compare.
As of late last week, the Halos were wrapping up their first round of chats with potential candidates, as Jeff Fletcher of the Southern California News Group reported. At least ten candidates were slated for an early look, with the remainder of the process — and the identities of most names under consideration — largely unknown.
There still aren’t a ton of names available, but we learned more about the club’s approach from MLB.com’s Jon Morosi (Twitter link). Beyond reviewing resumes and speaking with candidates, the Angels front office is said to be “administering [a] 2-hour written test to managerial candidates” that poses “questions spanning analytical, interpersonal and game-management aspects of the job.” Needless to say, that’s an interesting process.
Here’s the latest on individual candidates:
Latest Update – 10/20
The Angels have interviewed Rays major league field coordinator Rocco Baldelli, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports and Fletcher confirms. Baldelli’s among 10 candidates who interviewed during the first round of the process, per Fletcher, though he reports there are only six confirmed names (Baldelli, Vizquel, Chavez, Ausmus, Espada and Hyde). While it’s unknown which candidates have stood out to the Angels thus far, Fletcher writes that they could name their next manager by Monday.
Earlier Update — 10/18
Longtime big league infielder Omar Vizquel interviewed for the position but is no longer in consideration to be hired, per Venezuelan journalist Efrain Zavece on his podcast (Twitter link; hat tip to MLB.com’s Maria Guardado). The 51-year-old Vizquel previously served as the Tigers’ first base coach (under fellow Halos managerial candidate Brad Ausmus) and has spent the past two seasons managing in the White Sox’ minor league ranks.
Previous updates below…
Have Interviewed/Will Interview
Eric Chavez, who finished the season as the Angels’ Triple-A manager, has interviewed for the position, per Morosi. The same is true of former Tigers skipper Brad Ausmus, who is currently a special assistant to Angels GM Billy Eppler. Chavez, in particular, was reported as a favorite for the job early in the process — in some cases, before Scioscia even formally stepped down.
Astros bench coach Joe Espada is among the initial candidates, as ESPN.com’s Marly Rivera reports. He’ll get an interview, if he hasn’t already, per Fletcher, who notes that the timing was not yet clear given the Houston ballclub’s ongoing postseason commitments. Espada, who is in his first year in his role, is also drawing interest from multiple other teams.
Cubs bench coach Brandon Hyde received an interview from the Halos, according to MLB.com’s Jon Morosi (via Twitter). He has ample experience in the Chicago dugout, including a pair of campaigns as bench coach and three prior years as first base coach. Hyde also spent five years as a minor-league manager within the Marlins organization. Like Espada, he’s chatting with other clubs as well.
Potential Candidates
It isn’t yet certain who else the Halos have sat down with, but it seems there are some strong hunches. Fletcher tabs four internal possibilities: special assistants Brad Ausmus and Eric Chavez along with field personnel Dino Ebel (third-base coach) and Josh Paul (bench coach). Those looking for more reading on the topic may also want to check out this recent post from MLB.com’s Maria Guardado. She recently ran through some possible names to contemplate, included many of those covered above. While it’s not clear whether or not they’re considered candidates by the L.A. organization, Omar Vizquel (White Sox minor-league manager) and Joe McEwing (White Sox bench coach) are tabbed by Guardado as conceivable possibilities.

Thank god I switched to iPhone before this new twitter update cause chile, these android users are….. nvmd pic.twitter.com/5lkR2BGXbg

Twitter is trying to expose us android users

twitter said: time to expose people with androids pic.twitter.com/ujl0WvTlzM

Omg twitter! What a discrimination towards android users! Perlu ke cakap twitter for android or twitter for iphone?! Hina sangat ke pakai android?!!
— (@hani_farisha22) December 21, 2018
Since Twitter can show what a person is tweeting with Android, iPhone etc.. We are going to be selective when we reply, can't be back chatting to someone who is using android. pic.twitter.com/FnxscpM7ah
— Terry (@TENDANIL) December 22, 2018
So Twitter released a new update where you will see thee kinda phone someone is tweeting from, either iPhone or Android… I've been scrolling for five minutes and all the tweets are from iPhones… Except mine pic.twitter.com/mY0tGE5SVw

— Nyasha (@NyashaSamsunga) December 8, 2018
Now Twitter let you know who uses IPhone and who uses Android and seems like I'm the only who uses Android here
— Liya | (@xliamstanxx) December 8, 2018
So now twitter tells me who's tweeting from Android or Iphone? I guess all us Android peasents need to start stockpiling ammo and jarring our urine.

Twitter for iPhone / Twitter for Android pic.twitter.com/G6Rd208Qtp

I could go on — you can see more here — but it seems like, for many, iPhone is still the ultimate status symbol over Android despite the progress made by the likes of Samsung, Huawei and newer Android players Xiaomi and Oppo.

HOLLYSMUG: Seth Rogen, actress sneer at science-hating American rubes

HOLLYSMUG: Seth Rogen, actress sneer at science-hating American rubes
http://twitter.com/#!/dcaldwe2/status/445538373789159425
Oh, hell no. This aggression shall not stand.
So, this happened when social media blogger, author and screenwriter Kelly Oxford took to Twitter to sneer while watching “Cosmos.”
http://twitter.com/#!/kellyoxford/status/445418176231116800
Huh. It’s weird how those silly science-hating rubes are somehow forcing her to remain here. What power they have! Hey, Ms. Oxford, if you are worried about science-denying, have a chat with Nancy Pelosi’s anti-science daughter.
Oxford continued to look down her snooty nose. She, and her children, are far too smart for such things, you see.

Because she’s now onto you big dum-dums, you know.
Enter fellow Canadian, actor and filmmaker Seth Rogen. His scornful tweet was retweeted by the oh-so-tolerant actress Elizabeth Perkins, natch.
http://twitter.com/#!/Elizbethperkins/status/445499143511764993
Sigh.
http://twitter.com/#!/Sethrogen/status/445420009557200896 http://twitter.com/#!/kellyoxford/status/445422736844660736
Double sigh. Well, they sure did pick up on American Democrat talking points and spin rather quickly, didn’t they?
This Twitter user sums it up for the condescending pair.
http://twitter.com/#!/H3MBY/status/445423984922742784
Ding, ding, ding!
And here is an exit generalization, since the snide Rogen and Oxford seem to like those so much.
