Can't get Murder Drones out of my head. Almost like some eldritch code has taken root inside my brain. It's probably fine.
Anyway, headcanons for what the murder trio were before Tessa got them:
J was almost certainly in some corporate position. I like to think she was involved in marketing, since she has all those buzzwords ingrained in her lexicon. Maybe they even had her working with graphic design with her art skills. I also imagine she kinda hates corporate structure. "Bootlicker J" jokes aside, I can't imagine even she would have fun as a (literal) corporate slave, and she definitely enjoys freely speaking her mind: not something that flies very well in corporate and marketing contexts. Maybe she got dumped during some convoluted office politics, maybe she was dumped due to random downsizing, who knows.
N's a bit trickier. We see a lot of dexterity and showmanship from him in the manor. He's quite flashy with the glassware at a few points. He also likes drawing, but is lacking in technical skill, especially compared to J. He's also quite personable and friendly, and also seems to truly admire J in some capacity. As a bonus, Cyn mimics a lot of N's mannerisms, and one of her defining traits is her acting, even specifically playing at "improv" while rebuilding J. Therefore, I think N was in theater/entertainment.
He wasn't necessarily an actor himself: still a robot slave after all. But he likely assisted with a lot of setup. Rehearsals, testing stunts, watching over pets/kids (whether those of actors or actors themselves), etc. He enjoys fancy costumes as well, and he's pretty genre aware. He's probably had his fair share of experience with horror movies/stories. Maybe he got dumped pissing off the wrong famous person, maybe some stunt went wrong and they didn't want to bother repairing him, maybe they just wanted the newest model.
V is tough to decide. She seems to enjoy fighting the most out of all of them, but none of them are really slouches in combat, so I don't think that says much about her past. We don't see much of her in the manor, but the impression she gives is a bit more shy and demure. We see her playing chess in the credits, but one hobby doesn't mean much on its own, especially since chess is a common game to put on computers: probably all of them have chess programs built-in.
With that little to go off of, and her tendency to both act out in outrageous ways and keep herself closed-off, I'm thinking she was probably a menial worker beforehand. Minimal freedom, in a position where she'd best keep her head down. Follow the rules closely in order to keep what little she has. "Do your job and I leave you and N alone" was probably a pretty good deal to V because it was as good or better than her previous work arrangements.
Could be a lot of jobs like that for a robo-slave. But let's have fun with it and extrapolate from her usage of "narc" and her apparent desensitization to violence: she was used by a criminal organization for clean-up duty, and got dumped after being confiscated by authorities.

BSG rewatch notes, cont'd and ended (spoilers, obviously):
it was so nice to watch the whole thing again, once again being reminded why I fell in love with these characters
the second half of Season 4 is much stronger overall as the first one, but the Tigh-Six baby plotline is awful. dumb and ludicrous. gave lots of fantastic acting moments for Hogan and Helfer, at least
Michael Nankin was the GOAT for directing Sometimes a Great Notion
I had loved the piano man story from Someone to Watch Over Me, so I was looking forward to rewatch that, but I completely forgot that the other main plot of the episode is going to be Boomer kidnapping Hera, and jfc, the locker room sequence with Helo and Boomer as Athena and Athena watching them is probably the most horrifying scene of the whole show, genuinely disturbing
I really like the finale. the flashback structure works very well for showing us how far all these characters came, and also crystallizing their story arcs, the stakes of their present-day choices. the last mission is intense and satisfying. the big showdown between Cavil and the Final Five / colonials and the Opera House reveal is a bit bumpy, but I still love the anticlimax of Cavil just saying ah fuck this shit. the ending always made emotional sense for me, and because the emotional farewell was the more important expectation for me (rather than getting a wholly satisfying mythology and precisely worked out plot machinery), and I feel good about the exodus part, too, I can more easily let go of my quibbles of explaining how the people of the fleet actually went along with throwing all their technology into the sun and going into the wild which would realistically mean quite a low life expectancy for them - like, I would not last outside modern civilization at all, but considering the rate with which we have been destroying our planet in the years since the show ended, their choice to have a clean slate is all the more wishful and heartfelt. (also a nice sentiment to forego colonizing the natives of Earth). Kara's "poof" is jarring, but I find her narrative arc complete and wonderful. I don't need to know exactly what she was after she returned from Earth-1. I even didn't mind the epilogue! like, the dancing robots would probably be AI if they remade the show today, but otherwise, the all of this has happened before... message of the show, with all its cheesy directness, still stands. except maybe it's more difficult to share HeadSix's optimistic prognosis
"You know, I know about farming" is the best line reading of the whole show
I wish we got at least one more Leoben-Kara scene after the one in Sometimes a Great Notion. that was a huge turning point in their relationship, but it should have been followed up, and I am sure it would have if not for the unavailability of Callum Keith Rennie. that is the only part of the show that feels incomplete.
I was ranking all the episodes for myself alongside the rewatch, so here's my bottom 5 and my top 10. I still need to rewatch The Plan, which in my memory is barely more than a glorified clipshow with some nice acting, so that could possibly be in the bottom five as well. and yes, that is a 7-parter in the second place, sue me.
Black Market (2x14)
The Woman King (3x14)

Quality time

And we went, I think it was the same weekend or the weekend after, but pretty soon. Dad must have made some quick changes in his schedule, to free himself up.

We had compromised: no cadet uniform, but ‘just’ my school uniform, shirt and tie, grey pants, normal shoes. It was quite relaxed, actually.

There are some photographs where clearly I have unbuttoned my top button and loosened my tie – very uncharacteristic of me.

I think now that I did that to please my Dad, mostly, to show that I was not a robot, but perhaps I did unwind a bit.
It was fun. Lovely food, some culture, just me and Dad on a market, in a restaurant, chatting. I had missed the Christmas holidays, remember, when I was at Camp, and I had been working away ever since.

But when we talked some more, later at night, in our nice hotel room, I still felt lost.
It felt wrong to escape the Saturday morning school cadet drill, and it felt wrong to not fulfil my punishment duties at the barracks, in the afternoon. I felt like a deserter.

I couldn’t tell my Dad that I really wanted to talk to the Admiral some more and ask him why he felt I was ‘officer material’, or why he thought I would be best placed as a household aide, and what that would mean. I certainly couldn’t tell my Dad how I felt about kneeling for the Admiral and putting my head on the floor in front of him, and how good it felt when he kept me waiting like that for a few minutes, before telling me to get up.

I remember that on the third or fourth day I ran out of clean white shirts. My Dad told me ‘to just let the hotel staff take care of that’. Which made sense, but when the lady came to pick up the laundry I made sure to tell her exactly how I wanted them washed and ironed. I even went down to the laundry room with her. I didn’t tell my Dad that, neither.
On the last night we went to a more expensive restaurant, overlooking the beach, and my Dad (bless him) put on a shirt and tie for me – ‘just proper dress code for that place, son, nothing disciplinary, I’m not joining your bloody cadets’ – and I really appreciated it. It made talking easier.

I told him I was not a nerd or autistic or something, I just felt so safe and at home when things were organised like that, ‘you know, with rules’ and he said he understood.
I told him that I had sometimes hoped that he would wear formal clothes at home all the time, ‘so we’d have a really formal home, with structure but just normal, happy, clean…’ He smiled at that, and I guess he understood that too – over all these conversations in Thailand hung the shadow of my mother, who was away in Europe, battling her demons.

He said: ‘It’s fine, son, you can wear what you want and do what you want.’
And I said: ‘I have to do the camp, Dad. I know it was hard last time but I want to go again. Please let me do the camp.’
‘Very well, son.’
‘Thanks Dad’.
‘There’s a chance I will have to spend a month or so on the coast, and another few weeks back home in Europe, for this deal. Would you like me to talk to the Admiral’s office about a place for you there?’
‘Yes. Yes Dad. I’m sorry Dad, but yes.’
And I cried a bit, again. Dad hugged me. It was all fine.
It was also a goodbye.
We had to wait a while, at the airport. Dad got out his phone and did some work.
I went to have a haircut. Not just any haircut. A proper haircut, a cadet haircut.
I loved my Dad and I was grateful for the trip, but I was going to be a better boy. I was going to wear uniform forever, I was going to stay pure, I was going to obey, obey, obey, and I was going to serve.

About 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim's storytelling (I like it, but it's interesting to unpack)
context: I watched a full LP of it when it was PS4-exclusive, now I bought it for Switch to support the ADV games market
It's interesting thinking about the concept of its storytelling compared to the actual execution.
The concept is really cool honestly; you have 13 separate stories that can stand on their own but all tie together to explain the full plot and why they're together in giant robots in the RTS mode that happens chronologically after all the story events.
It sounds like an absolute nightmare to try and script and props to them for actually making it work.
But in execution it's actually a little funny because not *that* much significant actually happens during the Sector 4/1985 scenes where the main players are all hanging around in high school waiting for the kaiju to attack. All the really significant things have already happened, and there's only a few bits of cleaning up they need to do during the events of the story.
Three of the character routes (Juro, Iori, Shu) are literally just the characters hanging out doing regular high-school things and then they're like "this reminds me of a dream I had" which was actually incredibly crucial backstory on how this situation ended up the way it did.
spoiler stuff now i guess
For Iori and Shu, the explanation behind this is that Morimura and Ida are transplanting their memories into them because they want to steal their bodies eventually, and for Juro it's...because Megumi loves Juro Izumi and 426 needs her co-operation to put his nanomachine code into everyone so he's helping her implant his memories into Juro Kurabe.
Which are kind of random excuses for revealing to the audience scenes that we need to see to explain things. Especially because those plots don't end up going anywhere. Morimura gets shot by Chihiro, Ida gets shot by Ryoko, and 426 realises he doesn't have the power to take over Kurabe's body or something so he'll just lay dormant in his head.
Probably the same goes for the 2188 scenes. I don't think in-universe anybody gets to see all of the logs that were conveniently recorded into the simulation, and if I remember correctly sometimes it's just like "the character is messing around in the underground spaceship and because they have the same DNA as a 2188 character they have access to a 2188 log and watch it".
I think the only big thing that happens during the events of the ADV portion is that they cure the nanomachine virus in the Sentinels somehow? I can't remember how they do that in the end, I haven't gone through that yet. Like, even Gouto awakening the 2188 Morimura happened off-screen before his scenario starts.
Functionally, there's a whole lot of stuff that doesn't actually matter in the end and are almost just excuses for characters to witness the flashbacks that show the events that actually matter. Like the D-Code, or Shikishima Industries, or really actually most of Tetsuya Ida's plans.
I still like the story, though. It's just funny how it ends up being structured.

Complete SEO Roadmap for 2025: Rank Faster, Smarter, and Higher on Google

In 2025, SEO is no longer just about keywords and backlinks — it’s about smart strategies, technical precision, and understanding how search engines interpret content in real time. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned marketer, having a clear SEO roadmap is essential to stay ahead in a landscape shaped by AI, voice search, and zero-click results. At the center of it all? Strong content and Visibility Marketing in New York— the art of getting your brand in front of the right audience, at the right time, with the right message.
Let’s break down a modern SEO roadmap to help you rank faster, smarter, and higher on Google in 2025.
1. Start With Smart Keyword Research (Not Just Volume)
Keyword research has evolved. It’s not about chasing high-volume terms anymore — it’s about search intent, topical relevance, and content clusters. In 2025:
Focus on long-tail keywords and question-based queries.
Use tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, or even ChatGPT to explore user intent.
Group related keywords into content hubs to boost topical authority.
Pro tip: Target low-competition, high-intent keywords for faster wins — especially for newer sites.
2. Optimize for Google's Helpful Content System
Google’s 2024–2025 algorithm updates prioritize human-first, helpful content. That means:
Write for readers, not robots.
Avoid fluff, keyword stuffing, and thin content.
Include real-world value — tips, guides, examples, and data.
Google uses AI to evaluate expertise, experience, authoritativeness, and trust (E-E-A-T). Make sure your content reflects all four pillars.
3. Structure Your Content for Featured Snippets and AI Overviews
With AI-driven search features like Google SGE (Search Generative Experience) becoming mainstream, you need to write content that’s scannable and structured:
Use clear headings (H2s, H3s).
Include lists, tables, and FAQ sections.
Answer questions directly in the first few sentences.
This increases your chances of being pulled into featured snippets, People Also Ask, or AI-generated summaries — all crucial for visibility.
4. Technical SEO: Get It Right From Day One
A fast, crawlable, and secure website is the foundation of SEO in 2025. Focus on:
Core Web Vitals: Especially interaction to next paint (INP) and largest contentful paint (LCP).
Mobile-first indexing: Ensure your mobile experience is flawless.
Secure URLs (HTTPS), XML sitemaps, and canonical tags.
AI-assisted internal linking to support content clusters.
Fixing technical issues early prevents rankings from stagnating later.
5. User Experience (UX) Is Now an SEO Ranking Signal
Google knows how users behave on your site — bounce rate, dwell time, click depth — and it uses that data to rank you. So:
Keep pages visually clean, fast, and distraction-free.
Add smart CTAs, visual elements, and intuitive navigation.
Use tools like Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity to monitor behavior.
Remember: SEO gets people to your site. UX keeps them there.
6. Build Topical Authority, Not Just Backlinks
Backlinks still matter, but 2025 is the year of topical authority. That means becoming the go-to source for a subject by:
Creating interlinked content clusters around core topics.
Regularly updating older posts with new info.
Publishing original research or expert insights.
One powerful backlink from a trusted domain is better than 20 random ones. Focus on quality and relevance.
7. Use AI Tools the Right Way — Don’t Rely on Them Blindly
AI writing tools like ChatGPT and Jasper are great for drafts and ideation, but in 2025:
Google can detect and downrank low-effort AI content.
Use AI to speed up workflows, not replace strategy.
Always fact-check and humanize output before publishing.
Think of AI as your assistant — you’re still the strategist.
8. Track, Test, and Refine With Data
An SEO roadmap isn’t static. To stay ahead, you must:
Track rankings, click-through rates, and engagement.
Run A/B tests on titles, meta descriptions, and layouts.
Use tools like Google Search Console, GA4, and Surfer SEO.

Authenticity Matters: A Buyer’s Guide to Real Native Jewelry
Local Doesn’t Equal Legit
Searching for native jewelry near me is a natural first step, but proximity alone doesn’t guarantee authenticity. Real work is defined by cultural authorship, craftsmanship, and transparent provenance—not just the postcode of the shop. Before you buy, ask the seller who made the piece, which community they belong to, and whether they can provide documentation or a written guarantee that the work is genuinely Native-made. Reputable sellers welcome these questions; evasive answers should immediately trigger caution.
Understanding Terminology, History, and Law
The term indian jewelry appears frequently in older catalogues, tourist marketplaces, and legal contexts (such as the Indian Arts and Crafts Act in the United States), but its casual use in modern marketing can be misleading. What really matters is whether the artist is an enrolled citizen or a certified artisan from a federally or state-recognised tribe (or equivalent recognition depending on jurisdiction). Labels like “Native-inspired,” “tribal style,” or vague references to “artisan-made” often mask mass-produced imports that have no cultural connection to the traditions they imitate.
Turquoise, Silver, and Signatures of Craft
Within the broader category of Indigenous art, native american turquoise jewelry is one of the most counterfeited, thanks to global demand and the ease of producing lookalike composites. Hallmarks, heavy-gauge sterling, tight bezels, clean solder lines, and well-finished backs are all hallmarks of serious craftsmanship. Natural, untreated turquoise with documented mine provenance will command higher prices, while dyed, stabilised, or plastic composites are commonly used in cheaper imitations. If the turquoise looks unusually glossy, plastic-like, or uniformly coloured without natural variation, you should pause and probe further.
Materials, Methods, and Cultural Lineage
Authentic native jewelry reflects intergenerational knowledge—stone selection, metalwork traditions (such as tufa casting, overlay, and intricate stampwork), and design motifs that carry cultural meaning. While stylistic cues can help you evaluate a piece, remember that style can be copied. Proof still lies in documentation: artist attribution, hallmark verification through reputable databases, and transparent information about materials and techniques. Buying from known, ethical dealers or directly from artists dramatically reduces your risk of purchasing misrepresented work.
Fast Red Flags You Can Train Your Eye To See
If you’re trying to spot fake Native jewelry, start with the basics: test whether the metal is sterling (925) or a base-metal substitute, look closely for machine-perfect stamp patterns that repeat robotically, and assess the stone set—gaps, glue overflow, or flimsy bezels often indicate assembly-line shortcuts. Prices that seem “too good” for the claimed materials and artistry usually are. Authentic hand-made work carries the labour, skill, and cultural value that mass productions simply cannot match.
From Lab Tools to Paper Trails A structured, evidence-based approach to verification is the backbone of learning how to identify fake Native American jewelry. Start with written guarantees of authenticity, then check hallmarks against trusted directories. If the price is substantial, a gemmological or metals assay can confirm that stones and alloys are what the seller claims. Keep every piece of documentation—receipts, certificates, artist bios—because provenance not only protects you at purchase, it also matters for insurance, resale, museum donations, or estate planning.
A Practical Checklist for Everyday Buyers
Collectors who want repeatable, field-ready ways to tell if Native jewelry is real can standardise a quick checklist: verify metal purity; inspect bezels, solder lines, and tool marks; evaluate stones for dye, plastic sheen, or resin-filled fractures; confirm the hallmark and match it to a documented artist; and request written attribution to a specific tribe or community. Complement this with a market sense check: does the price align with the quality, materials, and artist reputation? If it doesn’t, dig deeper before you commit.
The Cultural and Economic Stakes Behind Every Purchase
Knowing how to spot fake Native jewelry and why authenticity matters is about more than protecting your wallet—it’s about safeguarding cultural sovereignty, ensuring artists receive fair compensation, and preventing the erosion of trust in the marketplace. Counterfeits distort public understanding of Indigenous artistry, strip value from legitimate creators, and can violate federal law. Conscious buyers help reverse that harm by asking the right questions, demanding transparency, and supporting ethical sources that centre Native voices and verifiable provenance.
