Thinking about the use of Daylight for Jere and Belly and Red for Bellyand Conrad, and how on the surface, you could say "ooh Daylight is the song about moving on! About moving past harmful loves into this better, brighter, warmer love, which means that's what Jere is for Belly! That he's the better choice, the endgame choice."
Except! If we look at these songs through a Swiftie lens (and Jenny Han is a Swiftie), we know that the love in Daylight ended up NOT being what we thought and that maybe this "golden" love wasn't actually the final answer.
And then you look at the lyrics. Daylight says "I don't wanna look at anything else now that I saw you." The first three words are key there for me when thinking about Belly's mindset. She doesn't want to look at anything else, right? She wants to be so focused on Jere and her love for him.
Except then come the lyrics of Red: "But moving on from him is impossible when I still see it all in my head." She may tell herself she's focused on Jere, but moving on from Conrad is impossible. She may tell herself she doesn't want to "look at anything else," but she is.
The depth of the love and emotion expressed in Red is also just insane next to Daylight. Daylight is like "oh this is golden this is great!" And then Red is like "Touching him was like realizing all you ever wanted was right there in front of you" and "Memorizing him was as easy as knowing all the words to your old favorite song" and etc. And "it comes back to me, burning red" the way that Belly and Conrad are coming back to each other! Daylight says "you gotta step into the daylight and let it go" except she can't! She says "Tell myself it's time now gotta let go" BUT THEN "moving on from him is impossible." The endgame is spelled out right there (without even bringing the books into this).
I also love thinking about both of these songs through the lens of the kinds of loves Belly's mom talks about in season one, the cozy campfire love versus fireworks. This post by @blues-valentine brings up some great points about this and how the campfire love is what Laurel and Belly's dad had and what Belly has with Jere, and the implications of all of that, and how her relationship with Conrad is the kind that fits her more and challenges her, and when you bring Daylight and Red into all of that? How Daylight represents the campfire love and Red fireworks? Do you see the vision now?
Daylight doesn't represent the healthier, moved on love from Conrad. Rather, in this instance, it's more of Belly trying to tell herself that this is the better love for her, that she's in this nice golden campfire warm haze, and then Conrad shows up and she realizes she was never over him, that their love is the kind of love she was looking for. Not that Conrad is the "unhealthy" choice, as some might take from that, but the one that fits Belly more, the one that she loves on such a deep, "that strong" level.

My Weirdly Conflicted Thoughts on The Summer I Turned Pretty
With the new season of The Summer I Turned Pretty coming up, I feel like I need to finally say it: I have extremely mixed feelings about this show. And honestly, it might be the only series that makes me feel this conflicted.
Tumblr media
First of all, I really like it. I’m genuinely excited to watch the new season. But it’s weird — because I’m not actually shipping anyone. Usually, if I’m not shipping anyone, I don’t care at all. I don’t feel anything. But with this show, I do have feelings — about every couple in this triangle, actually — and that’s so strange to me.
Let me explain.
The first reason is that Belly acts really weird, constantly jumping from one brother to the other. And she does it genuinely 😀 And I don’t like that. They’re brothers. That’s supposed to be a sacred bond. And she just goes back and forth between them, messing it up.
Plus, she’s known them both since childhood, and that just feels so unrealistic to me. Like… okay, you fall in love with one person you’ve known since you were a kid — classic (I always love this trope- loving someone since forever). But both? That just doesn’t sit right. Normally, people you’ve grown up with either turn into siblings in your mind, or it becomes a deep, true love. But here, it’s the opposite — she actually has real feelings, even passion, for both of them. It’s wild.
Second — neither of the couples is perfect. But also, none of them are annoying. Also both of them are beautiful.
If we look at her story with Conrad, it’s interesting — all the little childhood signs, how well he knows her, remembers things about her, how she’s always loved him. That’s compelling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then there’s Jeremiah — and there’s so much passion there, beautiful kisses, heartfelt confessions, and most of all, honesty, which is completely lacking in her dynamic with Conrad (which is just one emotional rollercoaster after another).
Tumblr media
Usually, in a love triangle, it’s pretty obvious who the “main love” is — who the true couple is — based on how it’s filmed, the chemistry, and certain storytelling cues. But in The Summer I Turned Pretty, even though it’s clear that Conrad is her endgame, it’s not that obvious emotionally. Because the way her relationship with Jeremiah is shown… it’s honestly really beautiful.
Tumblr media
They have insane chemistry. The entire second season was built around their slow-burn buildup — all those almost-kisses, the “we’re about to but we don’t” tension that creates so much emotional charge. And so many moments are just so aesthetically and romantically filmed — it feels like a real love story. Like when he lifts her up, spins her around in the sun, or when she says, “Jeremiah. I want you.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that’s what makes it even more confusing — because usually, with the “other guy,” it’s obvious that he’s just a distraction, or the safer choice, or the one she doesn’t feel as much for. You can tell when a relationship is filler — there’s less chemistry, less spark, less passion. But here, it’s the opposite.
Her dynamic with Jeremiah is more physically passionate than with her true love Conrad. The kisses are more intense, the energy is brighter, and the way it’s filmed — the sunlit spinning, the tension — it’s like they’re the epic couple. And these aren’t “best friends who try dating” kind of vibes — this is a full-on passionate romance.
Tumblr media
Both couples look amazing on screen. Great emotional scenes. The actors are really good. And I honestly have no idea who to root for, even though I do know who she’s going to end up with — it’s obvious from the genre and the books.
Still, I genuinely enjoy watching her with both of them. And that’s weird for me. Because I’m not really attached to either ship. I don’t root for anyone with my whole heart. I see the flaws in all of them and don’t even want to defend them. I just watch.
And not just watch — I actually enjoy it. I like watching edits of both couples. I’m not shipping anyone… and somehow I’m shipping everyone 😂 (wild, I know)
At the same time, I judge Belly so much for constantly switching between the brothers, more than once, after all these years of knowing them.
Tumblr media
So… does anyone else feel this way?

Oh my god Maxie and trouble!!??!!!!! Literally my favs… no thoughts just domestic max and trouble trying to sleep but she just won’t stop talking and max just kisses her to shut her up and finally get some beauty sleep 😭😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏‼️‼️‼️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
this was so cute and so self-projecting kqedjewfkqd thank you for requesting! and sorry not sorry to the team jeremiah girls!!🫶🏽
.
If there was one mistake Max made when it came to your relationship, it was agreeing to binge tv shows with you.
And yet, he fell for the trap every single time.
Personally, Max was never one to get overly invested in tv shows or movies. He would enjoy them, there were a few he wouldn’t mind rewatching on the odd rainy day. But he never got attached, whether it be to the show or the plot or the characters.
Not in the way you did.
He had to admit that he did find it adoring just how invested you got. If you liked the show, you were all in. You had your favourite characters and your comfort episodes. For the short time you watched the show until you finished, it was a hefty topic in most of your conversations. You got angry and sad and upset and excited over these shows. Max had never really experienced anything like it.
And usually—usually—he genuinely did find it adorable.
But sometimes there were moments like this one where he majorly regretted watching the show with you.
“I just don’t get how everybody can’t see the clear endgame!”
“Mhm.”
“Like, from music and cinematography and—”
“Mhm.”
“She has to end up with Conrad! She has to! I mean,” you paused for a moment as you let out a scoff. “Who would choose Jeremiah? He just lurks in the background with his creepy blue eyes and weird stare!”
“Mhm,” Max hummed like he had been doing for the last fifteen minutes before he paused. He frowned, opening his eyes to look over at you. “Wait, you don’t think my blue eyes are creepy, right?”
“Of course not, baby,” you murmured with a soft smile. “You have pretty ocean eyes. Jeremiah Fisher has the eyes of a white walker.”
Max snorted.
“I’m serious, Max. They stare into your soul.”
“I think you forget that I watched the show with you, Trouble,” he murmured as his eyes fell shut again, taking in a deep breath as he desperately tried to fall asleep like his body was begging him to do so.
But you had just finished the last episode of season two, you were riled up, and now instead of going to bed and cuddling with him like he wanted, you were sat criss-crossed on the bed as you rambled away about a show Max stopped thinking about the second the tv turned off.
“He is just the clear second option when Conrad is there, all dreamy and perfect and still in love with her and—”
You never got a chance to finish your sentence before Max had sat up, his fingers tangled in your hair as he kissed you mid-sentence. You felt breathless and flushed, and it didn’t take long for you to sink into his embrace as he pulled you back down onto the bed until you were lying on top of him.
“I know you’re angry but you need sleep,” he murmured against your lips as he settled his arms around your middle. “We both do.”
“Mhm,” you hummed, still a little dazed from the kiss.
“And I would prefer to have my girlfriend in my arms rather than talking about some other man being dreamy or whatever you said,” Max added.
You laughed lightly as you nuzzled yourself further into his embrace. “You are Team Conrad though, right?”
“Of course, Trouble,” he murmured and pressed a kiss to the crown of your head. “Now for the love of god, please fucking go to sleep.”

Joey & Pacey (Jacey) = Belly & Jeremiah (Bellyjere / Jellyfish / Jelly) !
Tumblr media
And then people wonder why I say that Conrad / Bonrad's endgame will never make sense. I don't care if they're endgame. Endgame doesn't mean logical or well-written.
As for me, I'm really going to pretend the show ended at the end of season 2.
Ultimately, let's just say that Dawson & Joey fans will finally have some sort of equivalent today with Bonrad... Frankly, it's not glorious.

Why I’m team Jelly
Something about Belly and Jeremiah makes so much sense to me. They just ‘flow’. Idk if that’s the right word, but it’s how I see them. Everything with them seems natural and easy, like they don’t have to try with each other, they just are.
I do understand why the Team Conrad people want to see them together (in some ways) but in my opinion, Jeremiah is the right choice for endgame and is Belly’s future.
Conrad was Belly’s first love. He was the older brother who was always sweet to her and who she harboured a crush for, for so many years. But Jeremiah’s the love that’s always been there. He’s the love that all of a sudden hits her in the face and she goes ‘how has it taken me this long to see it?’. Jeremiah is the boy who stayed at home with her for a week because she was sick and he didn’t want her to be alone. He’s the boy she stayed home for when he got sick too. He’s the boy she would run with to the beach with and play in the water. The boy who she knows “better than any boy”. She’s the girl who makes him feel seen (which only his mum and belly do). He’s the guy that will ‘always come and get her’. No matter at what stage Belly was in in her life, wether she was going on a date with someone or if she was little and was going to be home alone sick, Jeremiah pushed his own feelings aside, and chose to be there for her.
Maybe it’s only me seeing this as someone with a soft spot for Jelly, but everything seems less awkward with Jeremiah than it does with Conrad. Don’t get me wrong, there’s been more than a few moments with belly and Conrad where I’ve been like ‘omg that’s so cute’, but there’s also a slight awkwardness there sometimes. But I’ve never felt that there’s been an awkward moment between Belly and Jeremiah. Even when they were in the car together after not speaking for months, it was quiet and there was a tension, but it was never awkward.
They have such best friends to lovers energy and they have most importantly endgame energy. My only hope is that they show more of Belly feeling love for Jeremiah and not just Conrad. Because it’s so obviously there, so I need to see more of it. That boy means the world to her, and I’d like to actually see that shown more than it is.
Idc what anyone says, the relationship that Belly and Jeremiah have is so much healthier than with her and Conrad. Jelly communicates with each other, they tell each other how they feel and the love they have for each other (and I’m not just talking about romantic here) never falters, no matter the situation. Conrad seems to give affection and then pull away. He’s more talk than walk, whereas Jeremiah is more walk than talk. I know Conrad suffers with his mental health, and as someone who does as well, I can sympathise with him and understand why he does some of the things he does. But are we going to sit here and say that Jeremiah doesn’t suffer with his too ? I feel like people forget that Jeremiah has also lost his Mother. And he was there watching it happen, he saw her slipping away, that surely has had a huge impact on him. Not to mention that whilst it was happening, the girl that he was in love with was dating his brother, and he stood back and let it happen because he wanted both his Brother and Belly to be happy.
The entire scene with Belly and Jeremiah at the college sums them up for me. The montage of them giving each other piggyback rides and twirling each other around, Jeremiah tucking Belly’s hair behind her ear (did anyone else notice that when Conrad did that, she pulled away and asked him if she had something on her face, but when Jeremiah did it, she didn’t even flinch ? just saying 👀) the montage radiated nothing but complete joy, happiness and love and affection. And even in the serious moments, like when they talked about the future, Belly planned it with Jeremiah in it. And say what you want, but she didn’t plan it as ‘friends’ she was planning that future as a ‘we’, as a couple.
When Belly was at home and looking through the pictures of the boys and Susannah, clearly upset and missing them, it’s Jeremiah she called, despite them not having spoken in months. When it comes to belly’s struggles, she will always call Jeremiah for help. Always. And when it comes to Jeremiah’s, Belly is the only one that makes him feel better. Always. They just work. (Thinks if the tower of terror scene)
I just don’t want Belly to get back together with Jeremiah, only for her to then break his heart again. She clearly wants him, so let’s keep it that way, I am begging. Jeremiah deserves the world and Belly is his world. And Belly deserves the love she’s always craved (and without even noticing it at the time, Jeremiah is the love she’s always craved). She built Conrad up in her head, she gave him traits that she wanted him to have because she loved him, she gave him chance after chance because she loved him. But that true love, happiness fairly tale that she’s always imagined, that’s Jeremiah, and now is the time for her to notice that (as it seems she has) and to STAY thinking that.
I know how the book ends, and before anyone asks, no I haven’t read them. But I really do hope that they change the ending for the show. Jelly is a pure love. It’s a true love. They’re ‘real’ in the words of Belly. I’ve said this on someone’s post before, but the song Daylight by Taylor swift is very Jelly coded. The lyrics ‘I once believed love would be burning red, but it’s golden’ sums it up. Conrad was Belly’s burning red love. The love that yes, was deep and meaningful, but was also complicated and painful. Jeremiah is her golden love; also deep and meaningful, but the love that’s bright, one that makes her happy and is just easy. She never has to question herself around him, she can just be Belly.
And whilst im at it, I’ve seen a lot of discourse of people calling Belly a ‘bad person’ and I feel the need to stick up for her here. Has she made some mistakes ? Yes. Questionable ones ? Yes. But she’s a teenage girl for gods sake. Are you telling me that your teenage self has never made a questionable decision ? Are you telling me that your teenage self had never hurt someone ? Belly is young and has two boys who clearly care about and love her wanting her. Boys who have been in her life always. Of course she’s going to be confused and make decisions that hurt someone. I’m not saying she’s never in the wrong, because of course she is, but so is everyone at some point in their life. Again, she’s a teenaged girl, give her a fucking break. I never see anyone calling the boys ‘bad people’ for the questionable choices they’ve made.
Anyway, Jeremiah is Belly’s person. And Belly is Jeremiah’s person. Enough said. And also, THAT kiss!

I know we are all GUTTED that delicate played during a Belly and Jeremiah scene however this doesn’t have to mean the end of Bonrad, the demise of the show, or a fundamental betrayal by Jenny :-) I think we should look at it in the context of it being BELLY’S thing to have Taylor Swift moments playing during important moments in her life. Her whole life, Conrad has been the only person she has ever loved which is why he is the only one these songs would be played for because he’s the only person who was THAT important to her. This shows her letting go of that sole attachment and her opening herself up for emotional experiences with other people e.g. Jeremiah. Let’s also not forget her sitting in her room with Taylor in S1E1 listening to Cruel Summer which was also an important moment with someone she loved. AND August in the trailer. First and foremost, this is a show about Belly growing up and finding herself. And the fact that they announced season 3 with 10 eps leaves no doubt in my mind that we will get our Bonrad endgame <3

#jelly is endgame #bonrad get over it!!!
I honestly just CAN NOT believe the nerve of Conrad girlies (like for real). Why ruin something for someone else? Why crap on everything? Conrad girlies literally CAN NOT (and I mean are incapable) of keeping their thoughts and comments to themselves. Like... us Jeremiah girlies CAN NOT enjoy ourselves at all because the Bonrad fandom have to stay mad because Bonrad didn't happen. Like, how is that OUR fault. You've read the books. You knew how it ended. So why act surprised at the fact that Jeremiah and Belly ended up together? And to keep saying that Conrad is the better brother AFTER the last two episodes. JUST BAFFLES ME FR. Jeremiah literally the whole time is low-key being skeptical of Belly and making sure she is sure about him before he falls for her again. SHE initiated the kiss in episode 7. NOT JEREMIAH. Jeremiah literally tried his best to fight it but could not contain himself any longer because HE LOVES BELLY! And let's not forget what a JERK Conrad was being to Belly and Jeremiah in episode 8. He was literally out of line (multiple times). And then Conrad girlies wanna bring up, "Just wait till s3" AND????.... Do you Bonrad girls not realize that there is a WRITER'S STRIKE!!! Who knows when season 3 will come out. Could be three years from now! AND you wanna know what I GET TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT??? The cheating excuse. FIRST OF ALL BABES: JERE DID NOT CHEAT!! HIM AND BELLY WERE BROKEN UP!!!! SHE SAID IT HERSELF!!! Does that excuse what he did? NO. What he did wasn't right. But what Conrad did to Belly wasn't right either. Ex: Breaking up with her at prom, saying he "never wanted her" and then taking it back AFTER finding out about Jere and Belly, ruining his brother's wedding by confessing his feelings for his brothers wife-to-be the night BEFORE her wedding (when he could have told her at the motel), forgetting her corsage, telling her to, "grow up" (his fav insult). I could go on and on. JERE "CHEATED". Wow. One thing. Amongst all the other things Conrad did to her. AND can we just talk about how Belly was preaching to Jere about honesty when in actuality she went to Cousins and saw Conrad and when Jere called her on the way home, she DIDN'T tell him where she was coming from. NOT TELLING IS THE SAME AS LYING!!! I just find it funny how EVERYONE hates on JEREMIAH FISHER when he is NO CAP the BEST TSITP CHARACTER!!!! NO arguments there! Well.... I guess I've said what I needed to say. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!! #TeamJelly #TeamJellyfisher

Take some advice from a grizzled old shipper, Bonrad girlies: it’s going to be ok. I’ve shipped a lot of couples and they’ve all been endgame. (Ok maybe there was one that wasn’t but it’s kind of ambiguous thanks to a death. This is why I don’t watch stupid zombie shows anymore). Anyway…
First, there’s the books. Yes, there have been rumblings of not following the book ending, but with the exception of a few tweaks, the major plot points have all followed the books. It’s a 3 book, 3 season story and we’re only 2/3 of the way through. (Also, there are some quotes floating around where the cast talks about how season 3 will follow the books). Jenny saying she could choose to not follow the books was a ploy to keep people invested, thinking they have to watch in case she does change it. She said the same thing during To All the Boys movie promos and Lara Jean and Peter were still endgame. John Ambrose McWho?
But even if the books weren’t a factor, the past two seasons have been very heavy handed with the signs that Belly and Conrad are endgame. Even in a season that’s supposed to be Jere’s or episodes that’s supposed to be his, the unresolved feelings between Belly and Conrad are front and center. They’re infinite and the show isn’t letting us forget it. (This is a common storytelling mechanism with love triangles. It’s never about the 3rd person in the triangle. Look at Jim and Pam and Karen or Roy, or Nick and Jess and Sam or Reagan. The main ship and how these other relationships affect it are always the focus). I saw a tiktok comment that said “Jere is the rebound,” and that makes total sense. He’s the in between while Belly and Conrad figure their shit out. Belly needs to mature and figure herself out, have a few adventures before she can be with the one and Conrad needs to deal with his mental health surrounding his mother’s death and everything with his father. They’ll grow and change apart to be stronger together one day.
And purely from a storytelling standpoint it just makes sense. It is becoming clearer each week that this season will end with Belly and Jere together. And then what happens in season 3? Them just happily planning a wedding isn’t good TV. Season 3 needs drama and it’ll be the downfall of the relationship and Belly realizing she’ll never get over Conrad.
We’ve got this. Now we just need the studios to give the actors and writers what they want so we can season 3 made and aired so we can all find our zen.

I wish there was a profile with Khazard, is he rather neutral or does he have new ideals of his own
Character Profile: Khazard
One of my favorite characters and also one of the characters with the most wholesome endgames in this AU (those two aren't connected I swear). There are some slight changes to him but not many and on the whole, he is one of the characters most consistent with their regular versions. The backstory here is a little bit different than the usual ones, much less dark and creepy.
Name: Khazard
Age at the time of the Barred Gate breaking: ???
Current age: ???
Affiliation: Hypogeans
Appearance: Almost entirely the same but his smile has mellowed and is less jagged now. He also has a second serpent now, one made of wind and tiny ice crystals. Its name is Wind Viper.
Personality: Khazard has always been chill (ayyy) and after the Barred Gate was broken, he didn't really have much to do other than relax and maybe wait around for more commands from Uemiss. He did manage to eventually turn Respen to his side though so he's overall pretty happy now. Respen oversees the prisoner colony and while Khazard should technically be the overseer there, Respen just has so much more fun managing it so really, why bother?
Backstory: The voice now lay dormant most days. And why wouldn't it, really? There was little more he could do to serve that he wasn't already a part of. The Barred Gate had been torn open and the very nature of Esperia flipped on its head, there was no longer any Bastion of the Elements – at least not in the way it used to exist – and Respen... Well, he was doing fine and he wasn't going to die any time soon. Stroking his fingers through the wind and letting his chill be carried on it, something tugged at his attention out in the open sea. Raising his hand, he left the serpents on high alert up on the cliff overlooking the water as he descended to its surface. Nobody was scheduled to come this way for now. Was this another feeble attempt at resistance? Or an escape? When he reached the object of his curiosity, he only found himself even more puzzled. It was... a basket? Protected with magic and reinforced with elemental powers but a basket out here in the sea was still highly unusual. Peering inside, he found an otterfolk child, barely breathing as it slept, almost freezing. He combed through the water that carried the infant to him, listening to its whispers, its tales. The sole survivor of the clan after it was completely overrun by the Hypogean armies, the child was sent out to sea as a last desperate measure by its mother. Her stupidity almost amazed Khazard. She only traded one death for another, admittedly a far longer and more painful one. But what surprised him more were the wisps of elemental power. Search as he might, he found nothing in the streams about the mother casting any protective spells. Was that the child's own doing then? Perhaps it would be more useful to take it back then. As Khazard returned, Respen was already waiting for him, having no doubt heard about the disturbance from the wind. Khazard gently held the basket out, suddenly reminded of when he calmed that storm all the way back then. Respen had been so small. So fragile. This child may not have been an elemental but they were similar in many ways. He almost didn't want to give it up. It took a long time before the child opened its eyes, milky white and completely blind. It took longer still before it started to speak. The whole time, Khazard had been coming to terms with their eventual separation. It was fine. He didn't need anyone else. And yet, when Conrad finally came by to collect the little one, he couldn't but feel like when he made the choice to leave Respen behind. But, he reminded himself, looking at the boy, that, too was a good choice. He never regretted a single thing.

There's so many toxic stans that give so much hate to Jeremiah and Jelly I know Jenny sees this and sometimes she likes the anti jelly posts on tik tok like no she didn't makes me dislike her if I'm being real I guess she likes both sides of the fandom but seriously she better not make the conrad belly ship endgame yet again when there is nothing there even in the books I didn't get it the only love I saw was between Jeremiah and Belly. I heard some people say they have insides after the episode where Jenny and some of the cast talk about the ep and Jenny was saying she felt bad for Conrad then Lola calls her out saying she's the one who wrote it lmao I love her. Actually Conrad's reaction didn't seem hurt or anything he was just there interrupting them during that kiss which was hot surprised they weren't in the car like in the books. I wonder if she'll surprise us and make Jelly endgame I really want that to be the case it's just hard for me to trust her I don't want this relationship to be ruined I love them together so much. When I think about the third book as a whole it was terrible nothing good happened for them Belly was ruined too her character development that I loved in book 2 was gone actually I didn't recognize her at all I just thought she has the same name but is a much different person.
I really hope that her saying that she might change the ending is true and not just for views. Considering all those stupid signs people post ok tiktok, I kinda loosing my hope. If jelly isn't endgame, then what's the point? Jelly has development, while bonrad doesn't. They are just stuck and that's all. Jenny han doesn't devellop them as the couple. They never talk, it just weird signals. Belly is the only who vocalize her feelings, but then imo she realizes that she doesn't even know this man and doesn't love him. So she lets him go.
I love how Lola protects Jelly. Like she doesn't say it, but she kinda explains it differently without saying that she's team jelly. Like, the way she said why would she fight for love that doesn't even feel like the love. Why would she fight for a man who doesn't even lift his finger for her? Or pay attention, talk? She clearly states that she's team jeremiah. Like even Chris doesn't like bonrad. The way he always jokes that he's team bonrad because it's written in his contract🤭😭😭. I wish it wasn't in his contract, so he could scream at those bonrad fans that they're delusional and love toxic relationships 😭😭😭😭

Do you think we have any hope for Jelly being endgame for season 3? I'm guessing it's the final season if it's I need them to be endgame they're the main relationship of the series to me If it's not endgame why would I invest my time on season 3? Even if the cheating plot doesn't happen that still won't make the season good. You expect me to see Belly end up with this toxic jerk again and have Jere hurt again? Imagine watching the love of your life getting married to your brother ugh that would be the worst ending for Jeremiah Conrad doesn't really have anything with Belly all he does is same some corny ass line and it never lands the jelly relationship is more developed imo Conrad never wants her unless she' interested in someone else it's annoying didn't like him in the books don't in the show team Jelly forever.
I have no plans of watching s3 personally. And I'll wait for the season to finish before checking out who they ended up making the endgame. And apparently (due to the strikes I guess?) s3 will be out like after 2 years. Anyways as much as I hope Jenny has realised how bad of a look bonrad endgame is, Conrad is still hella romanticised and I don't trust her for delivering jelly endgame.
Exactly my point, there's no reason for making Belly end up with a toxic guy and romanticising it.
I feel that in a way, Jere did the right thing walking away knowing he'll never be appreciated but ugh does it break my heart to know that he's never appreciated enough 💔
Exactly, jelly has EVERY single thing under the sun going on for them, like every cute trope, best lines. Best friends to lovers, angst, mutual pining, telepathy, deep conversations, attraction, care, love, not to mention the chemistry & acting of Gavin and Lola. And like Jere has boundaries but still lets her bejeweled. Like how am I supposed to resist this ship!?! Jenny really did give them the best of everything (and then took it away and made them tragic lol)
While all bonrad has is infinity necklace (and Taylor songs in the bg in the show) lol
THIS!!! EVEN S1 Belly realised and acknowledged and admitted this that Conrad doesn't like her but likes that she is into him and chasing him. Plus every meaningful conversation esp to be clear on where they stand was initiated by Belly. Imo if tsitp was a one season show, it would make so much sense and provide a great plot twist and ending to make jelly the endgame and have it ended there. Like season 1 was amazing, it had Belly call out Conrad's bs and we finally had jelly only for the last scene to fuck it up.
I HATE HATE HATE that they erased all character development of Belly for a weak and toxic male character & romanticised a man who breadcrumbs her, is never emotionally available, hurts her and dare I say only sees her as a competition (coz I'm sick of twitter bonrad stans accusing Jere of this competition bs when if it's any brother who does this, it's clearly Conrad. Like all their accusations on Jere are literally a bunch of projections).

Why the hell are people comparing Conrad to Pacey and Jeremiah to Dawson ?!
At what point ?!
You guys are living in denial ! It's literally the opposite !
When I say that Conrad / Bonrad stans are only analyzing the surface to prove themselves right... And I say that even though I prefer Conrad to Dawson by a long shot, but clearly, if Conrad has to resemble a character from the Dawson show, well, it's Dawson himself, definitely not Pacey.
I don't even understand the people trying to deny it at this point, since it's been flat-out confirmed that the writers took inspiration from Joey & Pacey for Belly & Jeremiah.
So what are you trying to prove here ?!
It's like people comparing Conrad to Damon when... again, if there is a comparison between the brothers, well Jeremiah = Damon. More precisely Belly & Jeremiah = Damon & Elena.
The same writers worked on both shows (TVD and TSITP) and the dialogues about the real life associated with Damon / Delena worked by the same writers worked on those of Belly associated with Jere. And the same writers also worked on Dawson !
Like... ?!
And on the other hand, don't let anyone compare Conrad to Stefan, because that's an insult to Stefan's character, who is so much better / more interesting and much better written than Conrad.
And the comparison between Stiles and Conrad... Wtf ? You clearly insulting Stiles please at this point !
And even if I don't think Stiles has a lot in common with Conrad or Jeremiah anyway, again, if you really want to choose which brother Stiles potentially resembles... well it's again Jeremiah.
A main character who at first seems secondary, always there for others, funny, giving the impression of not necessarily taking things seriously at first but who actually does. And they both have a fucking Jeep.
And again, I don't think Stiles really resembles either of the brothers as a pure character, but if you have to choose, it falls once again on Jeremiah.
Seriously, at what point does Stiles resemble Conrad ?!
And I'm not even going to talk about the comparison between Nathan and Conrad, finish me off with the bullshit...
As this person on TikTok says, the real reason Conrad / Bonrad stans are most likely comparing Conrad / Bonrad to Pacey / Jacey, Damon / Delena, Stiles, and Nathan is probably simply because they're endgame.
The most basic level of thinking.
Like always with Conrad / Bonrad stans in fact.

Don’t know if you’ve seen any discourse surrounding this topic but what do you think of people comparing Jere to John (Belly’s dad) to prove that if the “safe option” didn’t work for Laurel, it wouldn’t work for Belly..? It’s an odd comparison for one but, while I know they divorced.. are people forgetting that Laurel and John were married for 15 years and have 2 children together? They ended things amicably and remain close. That doesn’t feel like a failure of a relationship at all.
I had a feeling this might come up at some point. In my opinion, jere is never going to be the ‘safe’ option. There’s so much more to lose with jere if it weren’t to work out/ they’ve been best friends for ages and they’re such a rock solid important relationship in each others lives. Belly ‘knows this boy better than anyone’ she’s Jeremiah’s ‘best friend’ he can read belly’s mind but really he can just ‘read belly’. Her and Conrad don’t have anything close in comparison to their relationship. If it weren’t to work out with jere, belly would lose her world. If it weren’t to work out with Conrad, belly would just lose Conrad.
I think the conversation that laurel had with belly has been taken way out of proportion. Laurel never describes John in a negative way, she describes him as ‘like curling up in front of a warm fire where you know you’re safe’ or something like that. Idk about anyone else, but that sounds rather lovely. But I don’t think that John and laurels relationship is supposed to represent belly and Jeremiah’s anyway. If anything, the ‘safe’ option would be cam Cameron. Laurel described having another love that ‘burned too bright’ and what happens if you’re in a fire that burns to bright ? You get burned. You get hurt. This is the Conrad/belly reference.
Susannah was the love of laurels life and vice Versa, wether they realised it or not, and this is where I see so much of Jeremiah and belly. Plus, so we all remember that scene where they were high and it was jeremiah that found them and he called belly to laugh at them. They watched them both together, laughing and smiling. And I’m that moment, belly and Jeremiah were a literal mirror of laurel and Susannah. Laurel has called Susannah her ‘soulmate’ before I’m pretty sure, and this is what makes me more sure about the mirroring.
Both Jeremiah and Belly and Laurel and Susannah are best friends, love each other endlessly and are the happiest when around the other.
I’d also like to mention the little part that Laurel read from her book where she said that Susannah ‘dropped everything’ to be with her for belly’s birth. I would now like to mention Jeremiah’s ‘I’ll always come and get you’ to belly. is anyone else SEEING THIS ?!!!
Jeremiah is in no way the safe option, because there’s so much more riding on him and belly being together. If they don’t work, they lose the one thing that’s always made them happy and at peace in the world. If they work, they get the love of their lives.
Plus, I know what bonrads are wanting to get at here with the whole ‘safe’ thing and I want to just raise them this; let’s stop calling good, loving, kind and passionate people ‘safe’ because there’s no drama for you to consume and purely because you prefer the toxic LI. What you need isn’t a bonrad endgame, what you need is therapy.

TSITP is already laying down the ground for bellyconrad endgame and jeremiah cheating situation. they’re only “winning this season” but the foreshadowing is already there:
1. Belly talking to Conrad and saying “if my dad had cheated on my mom, she probably wouldn’t even care” and Conrad being like “why wouldn’t Laurel have a reaction?” And Belly being “nothing about my dad really excited her”. This goes back to Season 1 and Laurel saying she loved John but it was safe like a “cozy campfire” that would keep her warm at night but never really gave her fireworks. Then she says someone did gave her fireworks once but it would have burned them alive (as Belly and Conrad right now that are dealing with too much and their love is to strong for this). This is Jer = campire Con = fireworks. Belly then asks if it didn’t work out with either, then how does she knows when it’s the right person to which Laurel responds that she’ll know when she wants to be with someone because nothing would matter and it would just feel right.
2. During that phone conversation with Conrad, Belly says “I just can’t imagine marrying some that didn’t give me fireworks. like electric jolts every time i saw them” to which Conrad agrees. That he wouldn’t marry someone that didn’t make him feel electric. Again, referencing Laurel’s conversation with Belly on Season 1.
There’s not reason why that conversation was even in there if it’s not to foreshadow the future. Every line in TV matters. I feel like Belly will be paralleling a lot from her parents relationship with Jeremiah by settling for a sense of blind safety mostly as a cover from Susannah’s death which is why she’s so in denial and holding onto their relationship on book 3. She will be getting into a relationship that doesn’t fully excite her and from Belly’s pov, you can tell her relationship with Jeremiah fully lost it’s spark long before the cheating occurred. One of the reasons I feel like Laurel didn’t want Belly to marry him is because she knew she was going to end up like her. Belly and Jeremiah would’ve ended up divorced for the same reasons Laurel and John did. But not even like 17 years in but way sooner then them.
Also how that Laurel speech is the same episode Jeremiah launches fireworks at Belly and Conrad to stop them from kissing out of spite to just seal the metaphor that Conrad is Belly’s fireworks.
3. After that conversation, Belly tells Conrad about her discovery. She tells him “Did you know Venus is an evening star for 263 days out of the year and then it disappears from the sky for 50 days before returning as a morning star for another 263 days out of the year. And right now it’s an evening star and it’s very bright next to the moon, actually I’m looking at it right now (…) i wish we were looking at it together”. This parallels the quote “For Belly, Conrad is the sun and when the sun comes out, all the stars disappear”. Venus was named after the goddess of love and beauty. And just the whole thing foreshadows that their love might go for a while but will never disappear because it will always return to them.
4. No one mentioned this but when Belly and Jeremiah were in that store picking up the cupcakes on 202, as Jeremiah walks away there’s a frame in front of just Belly in which you can see them selling peaches and pie – and we all know that book 3 bellyconrad scene involving a market and peaches.
5. Just the parallels, the references of their relationship, the song choices for both couples, the infinite necklace, the shirt, the change about Belly losing her virginity to Conrad.
6. Jeremiah referring to BellyConrad as having some “invisible string”. Also, let’s point out how Nikes by Frank Ocean played during a Belly and Jere scene last episode and it basically says “I’m not him but I’ll meant something too”.
7. And just since last season, when Belly and Conrad kissed, the song choice spelled their entire arc and I know it was intentional because it was cut in a way that you could hear: “This love is good this love is bad. This love is alive and back from the death. This hands had to let it go free and this love came back to me.” And “when you're young, you just run. but you come back to what you need”. The original song doesn’t follow that same line but bellyconrad songs are always cut in a way that foreshadows their arc. Just like how the lines used for The Way I Loved You foreshadows Season 2.
8. Conrad saying last episode that he seems himself in Cousins and the beach house in 10 years. That same house being the one he finally confesses to Belly, the one he lives in when they reconnect and the one they end up together and married at.
9. BellyConrad and StevenTaylor are Jenny’s endgames for sure and they’re paralleling each others arcs right now. With Taylor and Belly going onto that journey of wanting to “let go” of their first love only to realize they’re just settling for that type of love that it’s just easier because they are not that invested in it emotionally. It won’t hurt as much if you’re not truly in it. Jenny basically called Steven as “Taylor’s Conrad” so it makes sense why Taylors low key projecting on Belly right now.
Like, it’s not question bellyconrad is endgame. They are being written as the love story of the show and Jeremiah as the person getting in the way of that. “And unnecessary detour” as some reviewer called it. Everyone can see it except jellys that keep making their relationship deeper than it actually is. Jeremiah is clinging to belly as a way to cope with his mother’s death and so is she. And it will come back to bite them.
Couldn’t have said it better myself anon 😂 I don’t have much to add because… yeah. I think you nailed it all.
