Ace would like to know why his husband is currently a dragon. In fact, most patrons of his bar would like to know why Ace's husband is currently around Ace's neck and sulking at the fact he has four legs, scales, and can breathe fire.

"Well," Tredd says to break the eerie silence that had settled over the bar, "Do you think he can get bigger so he can rain fire down upon our enemies?"

"You are not using my husband as a siege weapon," Ace says as he reaches up to lightly tap on Nyx's head, "No," he says to the white and purple dragon partially wrapped around his neck, "Do not even think about it."

"It would be fun," Nyx says in a voice that is echoes the rumble of thunder, "I could-"

"And if you got any bigger where would I put you? We don't know if you can change back to this size. And I would prefer to be able to sleep with my husband under the same roof as me."

Nyx grumbles.

Ace ignores how adorable it is and wonders where the little blond he hired is. Shouldn't Prompto be here by now?

The bell at the door chimes, Ace perks up until he realizes that it is not Prompto would is walking through his door.

Rather it is the Prince of Lucis, Ace's younger half-brother who does not know of Ace's existence.

Everyone pretends not to stare as Noctis makes a beeline toward Ace.

"Uh," Noctis says not sounding very princely at all, "Prompto can't make it because-" He flounders as if he hasn't rehearsed the excuse Prompto gave him "- because he - iS THAT A DRAGON?"

Nyx''s claws dig into Ace's shoulder.

Ace makes a note to make Nyx sleep on the couch. It figures that Nyx wouldn't bother to hide.

"No," Ace lies terribly, "It's-"

"-Moving." Noctis sounds panicked and relieved at the same time. "Six above I thought I would have a harder time explaining."

Noctis swings his backpack - which is open a bit at the side - off his shoulder and and unzips it all the way.

A golden dragon pops its head out.

Ace can feel the blood drain from his face.

"Ah," he says calmly, "Is this why Prompto can't come in today? He got dragon'd?"

"Yeah apparently all of-" Noctis' eyes go wide. He wheezes something that Ace can't make out. Noctis points at Nyx.

Nyx blows a bit of fire out of his mouth because he can.

"Why do you have a dragon?" Noctis' voice is mortified. Ace feels the same way.

"I don't know," Ace replies, "Why do you have a dragon?"
