Still cant get over the fact that someone went into my comments and tried to argue it was okay for able bodied people to use cripple so they could be taken seriously when talking to a doctor about how serious their condition is.

And at the same time when told repeatedly that it's a slur it was "even if its widely *considered* a slur....but in my opinion it isnt..."

When someone tells you something is a slur that's not a opinion and you should fucking listen instead of continuing to defend its misuse because when something is a slur it's a fucking fact. Words arent just considered slurs.

"Debilitating and disabling dont have the same weight-" YES THEY DO. THOSE ARE LITERALLY THE WORDS CRIPPLE DESCRIBES AND A DOCTOR US MORE LIKELY TO LISTEN IF YOU USE MEDICAL TERMS AND SOUND EDUCATED INSTEAD OF THROWING A SLUR FOR PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AROUND.

How is it so hard to understand

If you tried to apply these arguments people make to defense of the use of the n word it would be so shitty and maybe then they would hear how fucked they sound

Do you need to use a mobility aid to be cripple punk? or just disabled? Is there like criteria or anything?

Cripple punk is very interesting to me and I really feel like I need to find more disability community but I think it kind of incites some kind of insecurity that I don't count or I'm not 'disabled enough'

Cripple punk is for anyone of any physical disability, theres no dictating if you're "disabled enough" because there is no "enough" it's just simply if you're physically disabled regardless of how severe it is or isnt. Mobility aids arent a requirement, not everyone can afford one or is in an environment that let's them have one.

If your condition is in anyway debilitating then you are disabled, imposter syndrome is an ass and we all deal with it, but you are welcome.

The only people not welcome are able bodied people

i saw someone post about how they lost their legs from a su1c1de attempt and dear lord the comments. "at that point I'd rather die" "god I'd rather just kms than have that happen to me" "my worst fear is failing and ending up crippled" "if I knew I was gonna have a life as shit as that i'd just try again" Thank you for letting us know that you consider our existence so intolerable that you would rather be dead than one of us.

living as a disabled person sucks. we know. WE KNOW THAT BETTER THAN ANYONE!! But to say that you would rather kill yourself than have to use a wheelchair? fuck you. you REEK of ableism and it's gross.

I'm shaking and crying right now, I just got a call for a cancelation at my neurology office and they offered me an appointment opening TOMORROW!!!! I've been in hell from my iih pressure and my appointment was still over a month away. Something in the universe aligned for this to happen I just know it because I never get this lucky.
