literally just had a "we have deer at home" conversation with my mother over whether or not we can go to Nara when we're in Japan.

(caveat before anyone gets weird: I'm Japanese-American, my mother is Japanese, we're going for family reasons, jury out on whether we get to do any tourist stuff.)

(I was the one who wanted to see the deer in Nara.)

(we do indeed have deer at home. but those are different deer. American deer. wild deer who eat our fruit trees.)
