They are immediately the cutest fucking people when together. So soft, so giggly.

I know it’s part of their social culture, but they drink a lot. Maybe it’s because I don’t drink, but dang.

“Jungkook is currently doing his skincare.” They add to the screen after panning away for scenery, yet leaving the sounds of *slap slap slap*😭

Jungkook cycling through multiple pairs of sunglasses, and Jimin swanning in and picking the first pair is peak! They’re so similar I yet so different, lol.

Another thing I’m sure is part of their culture, is the way they pay for stuff, but I find it interesting still that we’ve seen Jimin buy almost everything during their trips, since as far as we know they have pretty lax hierarchy rules between the two of them normally.

Jungkook is in the most romantic moment of his life, lmao! “I love it here!!!” said a million times. That man was experiencing a real life Hallmark movie in his head.

I also thought they spoke/understood way more Japanese than they apparently do.

“Come on everybody!” I understood that reference.

The way they chose to animate over everything to avoid having to blur a billion people in the station is HILARIOUS!

Jimin is too funny bro.

This train ride is so peaceful, it’s selling me on visiting Sapporo despite being broke and not speaking a lick of Japanese.

Can we also discuss how “My man, my man, my man.” Jungkook is? Yet Jimin is too, and somehow both is more than the other, lol. They are perpetually on some, “Jimin will like this.” “Where’s Jungkook?” *films food, pans to Jimin* *films the outside world, pans to Jungkook* *cuddle even while walking* type stuff. Just lovesick.

Girl!dad Jimin confirmed🥰 He’ll be such a sweet dad too, I think. He’s so patient and kind, which is heavily required to raise another human.

The way Jimin immediately pivoted to making JK laugh when he tried to downplay himself. Like I said, “My man, my man, my man.” Don’t talk bad about his man, even if you are his man.

My most delusional Jikook theory you’ll ever hear from me: “Are You Sure?” actually became the title because they were asking it if each other, because they in looooooooooove.

Also, to answer my own question from my previous list… yes, the bubble is back.

It’s a thing in America at least, that the “protector” tends to sit where they can see the door, and I don’t know if that’s a thing in SK as well, but it’s cute, because it matches their dynamic either way.

Jimin legit being ready to beat Tae’s ass over a dumpling is too crazy, lol. And folks be acting like he some docile helpless baby. Meanwhile, JK is a mediator. They definitely made for each other.

End of the episode. It was fun. Felt like the start of a holiday special. And I didn’t mention it up top, because I decided to “live blog” thoughts like ten minutes in or whatever, but Jungkook softly and sweetly saying he wanted to come back to Japan because it reminded him of their first trip together… SOBBING! He’s such a sentimental guy, with an equally as sentimental guy on his arm.

They truly do vibe so well, and I understand with each passing episode why them enlisting together was a non-choice choice. They click. Like they said themselves, they’re one person split into two bodies, and it’s clear as day they thrive off of being around one another.

Not to get too sappy either, but it’s insane they feel that way about their bond and dynamic, on top of all the things that already just so happened to bring them together. Not just born in the same country, but same city. Auditioned for the same music group. Actually made it into the same group… they were destined to meet, and even they feel that way. All that’s missing is them being the same age, and they’d be the same person. That’s an insane thing to say, but really tells you how deeply they value their connection.

Thoughts on Earthspark Season 2 (first half)

Spoiler Free:

I must admit I’m dissatisfied.

The animation and rendering definitely looks cheaper. Sometimes it feels like frames are missing, animations not polished, scenes not fully rendered. 2d and 3d poorly blends. It’s quite noticeable unfortunately. Characters also do the TFP Megatron stare now.

That being said, time was taken to revisit old models of characters and give them a new appearance. (4 i’ve noticed) It makes sense given a lot has changed during one year time skip.

The writing often feels either like exposition dumping or naruto filler episodes. I was never at the edge of my seat even during the climax. I ended up skipping through episodes due to the lack of relevant plot information.

Something ES managed to maintain were carefully composed shots that make great still images. While that’s nice for screenshots and redraws, I also feel like it’s the only unique aspect of ES’ animation style that remained. The rest, as previously mentioned, has lost quality.

Character Details I’ve noticed and want to talk about (spoilers ahead)

half of season 2 part 1 is filler. optimus trailer episode, great america with cosmos, a pachycephalosaurus-truck fighting mushrooms, hashtag taking ten years to dispose of hard drives…. each episode did have a few minutes of either cute or important moments. but the majority is a waste of time.

I was hoping that we would learn more about the decepticons. now that they’re free, what are they up to? how are their dynamics? how did season 1 finale change their perception on things? would they try to convince the terrans THEY are the good guys? nothing like that though.

There is no satisfying character development for starscream. ES Starscream was perfect to explore a more neutral version of him, who does not do bad things out of pleasure, but due to necessity; following his desire to be free. In the show he mentions he wanted to get rid of his oppressors (in his eyes autobots and humans), but a real “bruh” moment was when he told Hashtag the only reason he opened up to her last time was to tell her “take care of yourself first”. It completely disregards the fact he came to help in the season 1 finale after reflecting on Hashtags words. It also aggravates me that the writing could have been a very easy fix. “hey i’m not being selfish by destroying this town. im doing this for the decepticons, we have lived under the control of the autobots and then of humans. this needs to stop, we deserve freedom and i will do anything it takes.”

the show managed to establish some friction between starscream and shockwave but for deception standards it was very tame. overall i think it was written okay; he purposely let the Terrans escape with the fragments, and he bailed on Starscream once he went bonkers. I hope that he gets to be a Decepticon leader in the second half; i don’t think we have seen that in any TF TV show before. i also like that his antennae and eye color give away his emotions now.

i feel like the autobots are treated even worse than the decepticons this season ngl. they merely exist; and when they do have the spotlight it’s often for comedy.

why the fuck did shockwave not wait for hashtag to just dump the hard drives and leave. if someone walked up to me yelling “give me your trashbag” as i’m trying to dispose of it i’d be weirded out too lol.

i hope the chaos terrans don’t return. aftermath imo was, plot wise, redundant. spitfire at least was interesting and had an impact.

i wish there were more interesting fights like in season 1 instead of, oh no they’re hitting the trailer with sticks, oh no we are an abomination of dinosaur and vehicle for what feels like 15mins straight. i miss seeing soundwave slay.

SO MUCH TO COVER ON THIS ONE! Been waiting for this

So Morrison is actually a character from Devil May Cry The Animated Series! He's Dante's "agent" bringing him in non-standard jobs that entail a little bit more than just Go Here And Kill Demon. And in the show HE WAS A WHITE DUDE

Capcom took the character from the show, but raceswapped him to be a black guy. And nobody cared lol. The people who knew he was a pre-existing character either didn't care, or thought it was an improvement. Because he does have a bit of a Morgan Freeman vibe going for him now don't you think? And like in the animated series, he's constantly skimming off the top and taking expenses out of Dante's "cut" of the job payment. You'll notice Dante is so down and out for cash that he isn't even paying his electricity and water bills, which is also taken from the show. You might think business isn't good, but the truth is Dante just constantly turns down payment. The entire idea of Devil May Cry being a business is practically a formality. Most of his hunting is done pro bono.

Patty gets a voice only cameo! She is also from The Animated Series! She's a cute little girl that Dante takes in in the first episode, and functions as the shows audience surrogate character since she isn't aware of what demons are until she starts hanging out with Dante. So she's an easy excuse to give exposition on the lore of the video games to the audience. She was also, like, eight years old in the show. And as you might notice, she mentions it's her 18th birthday in the phone call. Meaning DMC5 is set ten years after TAS, which is set at least a year after the events of the original Devil May Cry video game.

(I assert once again that it is laughably implausible that Vergil was wandering around in a state of being near death after the events of Mallet Island for ten fucking years, and no piece of supplementary material has ever bothered to explain this)

Anyway I think it is beyond cool that this game is acknowledging so much of the expanded material from the franchise. Paying mention to Nell Goldstein from the DMC1 novel. Cameos from characters from The Animated Series. Now it doesn't mean those expanded bits of material are hard canon, after all Morrison doesn't look anything like he did in the anime. But the games are still readily accepting the contributions of the other artists who have made contact with the series and incorporating their own version of it into the source material of the video games, which is so cool to see.

Dante doesn't want to go to Patty's birthday party but it isn't because she's the Amy to his Sonic or anything like that. Although the first episode of TAS had this line which didn't age particularly well.

It was 2007 grade it on a curve. It wasn't creepy back then.

Anyway it's clear if you watch the show that Patty views Dante as more of an older brother figure. Dante is avoiding the shindig because it'll be an event that OTHER human friends of Patty will be attending since she's quite a socialite. And Dante feels a disconnect from humanity due to his own self loathing of his demon heritage. One figures he might be more amenable to attending a smaller get together of only himself Patty and a few mutual acquaintances though, but he definitely doesn't want to hang around with a bunch of fucking teenage humans. Relatable.

so yeah, DMC TAS, go give it a watch sometime.

ASIDE FROM THAT we see V's introduction to the narrative in this scene. Please take note of how he says he has no name, just like what Urizen said to Nero in the pre-boss fight cutscene of the level right before this one. It's also a William Blake quote, and yet serendipitously V literally was "born" two days ago on May 1st.

Now please take note that when V tries to convince Dante that the demon he's coming to him about is a big deal, he says "this demon is your reason for fighting." If you'll recall from DMC1, Dante says the only reason he's in the demon hunting business is because he figures eventually he'll get the one that killed his family. The game red herrings Urizen's identity to make us think maybe he might be Mundus for a while, but that's really only going to work on people who aren't paying that much attention. Or paying the wrong kind of attention. Take note that when Dante asks if this demon has a name, look at the mouth shape V's lips take to answer.

He IS NOT saying "Mundus." And he is NOT saying "Urizen" either. He is CLEARLY telling Dante that the demon he needs to take this job to defeat is VERGIL. Urizen was just the name that he told Nero, probably because V assumed Nero is Dante's son and he probably assumed Dante told Nero about his big bad evil uncle Vergil. The name just sticks even after the intended reason why V told him that was the name becomes obsolete. Dante knew from the very beginning that Urizen = Vergil though, and you need to look at every single line of dialog Dante has about Urizen from this point on with that context in mind.

ok its been… what a week? since dreamzzz season three came out, so, uh, for fun here’s my personal rankings of each of the ten episodes. Pretty spoiler free tbh

General overview: 8 was my favourite and 3 was, unfortunately, my least favourite

BUT NGL i love them all and yeah honestly it was pretty hard for me to rank them lol

And, spoilers under cut, but i think there’s really only two episodes I would tweak

Personally I think there’s only two episodes i would really only tweak/would want to rewrite and that would be 3 & 6

Yeah i have a bit of beef with 3 BECAUSE SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FART WAS THAT!? I wanted to see Cooper race so bad AND DREAMSMASHER WAS A TOTAL PRICK BRUHHH 😭 andways yeahh lol, i’d definitely tweak the actual race bit frr. Other than Logan just running in Lo-Lo form bc that was hysterical imo

as for 6 I think there’s really only one scene i’d want to rewrite 🤔 and it’s when Mateo and Zoey have their little moment and talk about what Zoey wants to do/be in life now. And im not flaming on their dynamic, i love them fr, I just feel like it would have fit better to have Zoey and Cooper have that talk/moment instead. Like rather than having Mateo’s… kinda weird tbh attempt at, what was he even saying genuinely (?), talking to Zoey about it. I think having Zoey and Cooper both bonding over not really knowing & understanding what they want/want to do in life would have done a lot more for their characters and showing off their character arcs along with their growing dynamic; sort of a part two to their talk in Irrational Treasure if you will.

Oh and… and i might have tweaked smth with the Time Owl? Maybe, it hasn’t done much so we’ll have to wait for part two to see if it gets more lore, yk?

Star Trek TNG 3×21 – "Hollow Pursuits"

Little commentary from someone that found themselves in Barclay and cried over this episode (I can explain myself, swear).

As soon as I started this episode, I disliked how Geordi spoke of Barclay – and then how literally everyone else spoke of him. Considering he hasn't done anything wrong other than be akward (and being late to work – which is something to be criticised for but that's not the biggest issue certain members of the crew have with Barclay) it felt just plain mean to me to talk about him the way they do. Especially behind his back.

Now, I don't want it to seem like I think everyone's evil and bad for being unkind to Barclay because I understand that people like him (myself included) are difficult to work and interact with. It's okay to be frustrated with the kind of person he is, but I think they were doing too much.

Also, when I started the episode, I was immediately put off by Barclay's holodeck fantasy. Not the part where he assaults LaForge and Riker – it's very common for someone to feel hatred towards their boss, I think this is just that – but more so his interaction with fake Troi. I definitely found it creepy and figured Troi would be at least uncomfortable if she were to find out. But further on in the episode I realized that that, along with beating up his superiors, is very important to understand Barclay's character. His holodeck adventures with Troi are more than just having a crush on someone and fantasizing about getting with them. Because, despite how it might be presented, the biggest focus in these scenarios is not Troi but the concept of Barclay being confident enough to get a girl and enter conflict when he deems necessary. When he's in the holodeck, alone – despite the simulations, he doesn't stutter. He's not nervous. He can relax. This is all opposite when he's at work or with Troi (the real one) because he's interacting with real, sentient people capable of judging, hating, and bullying him. And that's what's on his mind, causing him to be the way he is.

Like Guinan said: "If I felt that nobody wanted to talk to me, I'd probably be late and nervous too." (I just wanna say how much I love Guinan for everything she said to Geordi in this episode. She's genuinely very kind, and doesn't judge Barclay for being a difficult person.)

I was going to put videos just for comparison between him in the holodeck vs him in real life, with Troi, but there's a 1-video-per-post policy. Hate that. But I'll explain – in the holodeck he's easily speaking without stuttering and his movements are smooth and look effortless (he can even make eye contact with her.) Unlike him with the real Troi, where he's struggling to form a sentence and tries really hard to look relaxed and casual. It's like a Clark Kent/Superman contrast except Barclay's not faking the akwardness.

The scene after Geordi catches Barclay in the holodeck, where they're talking in Ten-Forward, was my breaking point. Barclay talks about how he's always scared of forgetting someone's name, never knows what to do with his hands which causes him to always fidget nervously, how he's so terrible at social interactions he has to practice what he would talk about at a function beforehand, but when he gets there he can't find the confidence to let one word out. And then Geordi says he's "just shy" and Barclay acts as if he's been described that way a million times and it just isn't that simple. And he tells Geordi he doesn't understand, no one around him could ever understand.

(^I just really like this piece of dialogue lol because like.... yeah man I get it)

Geordi tries (and in the end succeeds) to help Barclay be more confident. These scenes did make me cringe while watching, though. As you could guess, I'm very shy. So shy in fact that working on the Enterprise sounds like a nightmare. There's so many people and your job is so important and the consequences of messing up could be catastrophic. So, seeing Geordi bring Barclay on THE BRIDGE (aka the most important place on the ship) with THE CAPTAIN (aka the most important person on the ship) made me very nervous because I for sure wouldn't be able to handle the situation. If I were Barclay I'd be tearing up the whole time and when Picard calls me "Broccoli" I might just run to my quarters and cry so hard I throw up and scream till I pass out. I sound dramatic (and I might be) but it just really is that big of a deal for some people. But despite that, I can understand that this helps Barclay build confidence, which is exactly what he needs.

And in the end it's Barclay who saved the day. By being confident enough to voice his opinion. Something that I am very proud of him for because I still find it extremely difficult. And in the end he doesn't get a "thank you" from a superior. Geordi does, from Riker. And when Riker hears that Barclay was involved he doesn't think about thanking him as well, but it's okay. Because Geordi tells Barclay he's glad he was there to help, which is enough validation and assurance to get Barclay started. At least, it would be for me.

This is an odd episode because the main plot is that there's just this guy who's kinda weird (has social anxiety) and no one likes him. But at the same time, I really needed to watch it. For better or for worse, it felt like it was made specifically for me.

(after typing this out I found out that reg will be a recurring, and I think important, character which i am actually very glad to hear. it also means someone might care about what i have to say about him)

It's kinda just okay imo but I have a longtime softspot for Elbow even when they're being just okay. last book: Right now I'm speed-reading a terrible pop-nonfic book for book club tomorrow. 🙄 And then I'm going to listen to the If Books Could Kill episode about it lol. I recently finished Smut Peddler Presents: My Monster Girlfriend and Dirt: The Ecstatic Skin of the Earth, both of which rock. Last but not least I am still engaged in my luxuriously slow fine-tooth-comb reread of Wolf Hall, a book which is a self-contained masterclass on narrative voice, syntax, and rhetoric for fiction writers.

last movie: I think it may have been Stalker??? Which I watched ummm last spring. Oh wait if you count a filmed opera I watched Respighi's La bella dormente nel bosco on dvd back in like september or something. ........I do not watch movies very often.

last tv show: Season one of Detectorists. Really well-done BBC comedy from 2014 about two nebbish metal-detecting enthusiasts and the shenanigous rivalry between local metal-detecting clubs.

sweet/spicy/savoury: spicy. bonus points for spicy/sour combo.

current obsession: work is currently kicking my ass in a way that is hampering the development of any good fun obsession. >_< but i'm a bit obsessed with the Dishonored retelling I'm writing at least!

Although he's not truly a Nazi the way Stormfront was, we do see many times throughout the show that Homelander is a bit of racist, especially towards Hispanics. I mean, he doesn't like it when he hears Ryan speaking Spanish, and all his interactions with Supersonic were so, uh, uncomfy, to say the least.

HOWEVER, Homelander is willing to overlook anything when he gets emotionally involved with someone. Like how he's always rambling on about supes being the superior race while at the same time lowkey worshipping Madelyn.

How do you think he will react to dating a Latina? I can see him being a major asshole at the beginning, complaining about her putting on Latin music while in the penthouse, and cooking "weird food". But slowly and almost unwillingly he gets dragged into the culture.

Like, her brothers and cousins adopt him and suddenly he's the guy who goes to parrillada every Sunday to hang out with his amigos, playing domino and watching freaking soccer. They nickname him "El Casas" and teach him how to speak Spanish but the type that's only spoken deep in the guetto and has grandmothers clutching their pearls.

He starts watching Soap Operas with his girlfriend ironically but then gets weirdly into them to the point that he's crying his eyes out every other episode. He also starts calling her mami/mamita and his mommy kink gets like ten times worse. Which is fine by her because she's been calling him papi rey (king daddy) in her mind since the moment she laid eyes on him.

Once they finally go public, Homelander is all but embraced by the Latino community and it makes his ratings go through the roof because America's Dad speaking perfect Spanish and dancing Salsa in his girlfriend's livestreams is the best representation they've ever gotten. His fanbase drastically changes ofc. Stormfront would be rolling on her grave, I just know it.

Forgive me if this is weird, I'm just a sad latina who's dying for representation in Homelander x reader stories.

the latest doctor who episode awakened me like a sleeper agent. used to hang around here for Midnight Mondays. would love to hear your thoughts. love RTD commitment to destroying the earth to toxic and did I catch a few bars of 9's theme as Bel and the Doctor were landing?

you're the second person to bring up midnight monday in the past couple days and i just wanna first and foremost say i'm glad it seems like people look back on that fondly enough to remember me and my uber-hyperfixation on that one singular episode cause i worry it was maybe a bit cringe (which i feel like i am in general at times 😅) though i do remember how people would kinda scream with me about how great that episode was and i forever appreciate that as someone who doesn't have many IRL people to talk to about it (the cousins that were into DW were more into 11's seasons and i didn't wanna idk. scare them off with how much i was obsessed with a single episode lol) and hooooooooooooo boy yeah. it woke me up too though i will admit DW's been on my mind a lot lately, have had dreams about it, watched some of tennant's episodes as 14 (i can't remember why i didn't finish? cause i definitely loved the first episode and i think i started the second), still kinda like, casually look at tags and stuff just to see what's been going on, i'm sure i'm just gonna snap one day and rewatch everything and properly catch up like i did with csi back in 2018/2019

and that being said, the second i found out they did a midnight sequel? my heart LEPT. in intrigue, in joy and excitement

and i know midnight was such a great episode on its own, the perfect standalone bottle episode that came before all of big finale stuff of that season, the story was buttoned up and the only thing left to linger was the doctor's very....off feelings at the end of it, clearly exhausted and unsettled after he told donna everything. half-heartedly smiling with his molto bene until donna repeated it and he just like, doesn't snap but pleads with her that she not do that again and the episode ends on just that...haunted look of his, and then like most adventures, we don't hear really anything more after that (at least so i remember--admittedly been years now since i watched midnight, i meant to watch it yesterday but some...stuff happened and it didn't feel right)

[putting my thoughts of The Well under a cut just cause of spoilers]

SO. going in knowing it was a midnight sequel was definitely a thrilling prospect for me. I think i did admittedly cheat and see a gifset even before i watched, specifically one of ncuti (who from what i have seen, I very much enjoy) crying and knowing RTD is back in chargem so i knew it was going to be good, hearing Toxic immediately took me back--when i ultimately watch this episode again i'll have to keep an ear out for 9's theme!!

and as a fan of horror and sci-fi and esp put together, the setting of the stage of exploring this desolate planet with a mining facility was already checking off so many boxes for me.

And then the shadow appeared--and I commend this episode for still not showing us the entity in full!!! I love that shit so much!!! keeping the mystery but keeping the terror the characters experience. I'm usually not a fan of jumpscares but boy that one got me (and legit i saw a gifset of it right after it happened while i was watching lol)

and i love how they slooooowly built up hints, like the radiation and how nobody could live on the surface, etc until that reveal and the doctor also putting the pieces together, what, 5 regenerations later? and seeing his reaction was just!!!!! he was so scared still and for a character like the doctor who has such a long history to be scared over something he experienced literal lifetimes ago, AND NOT TO MENTION THE FLASHBACKS AND SHOWING TEN'S TERRIFIED FACE THAT'S BEEN BURNED INTO MY MIND SINCE THE NIGHT I FIRST WATCHED IT. I. fucking. LOVED. IT.

and the talking about it, how the entity "played a game" with them UGH again, just checking off so many boxes for me as someone who not only lives to see the whumpy traumatic events happen, but to see the aftermath that comes after.

and yet since he's still the doctor, he's still curious, he still tried to connect to this entity that literally possessed him the last time they met, still trying to understand what it is, trying to learn, trying to see it. and again, while we had the doctor constantly looking for that shadow we still as an audience never got to see it even at the very end when it's revealed that it got on the escape ship.

maybe cause of the setting but it also almost gave me a bit of the impossible planet/the satan pit vibes which now makes me selfishly wish this ep could have been two parts

so yeah. huuuuuuuuge fan of this episode, probably the best way they could approach a sequel to such a classic as midnight and definitely gave me some much needed serotonin even if it was only for a few hours. 15/10 would recommend

Re: Rolin's original vision for IWTV, he states in Naomi's podcast last year that his original pitch for the book had been ten episodes, and then AMC decided on 8 so that was what they wrote, and then the splitting of the seasons happened. And I think as part of that they brought in some elements from other books sooner than they would have otherwise (like Talamasca). So he definitely never thought that TVL would require 15 episodes, for what it's worth. :)

I'd like TVL to be 10, but with Rolin loving TVL so much and seeming to have SO much confidence in AMC's support of his artistic vision, I have a lot of confidence in whatever he does. I did wonder if the "double album" he mentioned hinted at a longer season, just because that's a lot of songs for 8 episodes, but who knows how literal he's being lol.

I mean... Rolin signed a multi-year contract with AMC in May (or at least he talked about it at the ATX festival). And he is only doing IWTV.

There's math in that :)))) and as such... I'm quite confident that we will get our seasons and therefore I'm happy to wait and see what happens.

I would prefer 10 episodes to 8 as well, but it also depends on where they want to split, et cetera. I'm very "gimme more" when it comes to IWTV *laughs*

Ok I have been obsessed with cyberpunk 2077 for about 5 years now and it's definitely one of my "special interests" but I did stop playing it for a while b/c the PL dlc made me very emo. And I needed a break from a game that I've played so much (while waiting for the sequel that will be a while before it's out)

But today I was talking to myself about how much I've been enjyoying another game indie game called "Being a dik" and before u judge me lol it is a AVN adult visual novel. And funny enough I did stop playing that game for a long while b/c the new seasons are still in development but for a time I was obsessed with it as well. Recently I got tired of waiting for it to be released on steam and I decided to get the Patreon version and subscribe to get two episodes early . And I have to say this game genuinely feels like it had so much love and care put into it. Like genuinely yes it's a AVN but actually has characters that have their own lives and interests it's not just about ur character getting a fuck. Which I think BaD does a lot better than most AVN . (I haven't played many after BaD b/c most don't look that interesting and $15 I'm not trying to spend on them) but anyways BaD made me feel as a player like I was "loved" and yes that may seem weird but to think an indie Dev is taking so much time to make their game more interesting than their last and listening to their audience and actually giving road map updates on the game. It genuinely makes me happy and ofc the story was already interesting but it just got ten times more interesting with the new 2 episodes and I just love it so much. And it feels weird but i appreciate so much effort the dev puts into his game especially when so so many triple A games have been such a let down recently. Yes not all triple A but it's enough to make me not trust a lot of them recently. (Yes fem presenting mfs play AVNs at least this one does🤧)

And i talked about this before but cyberpunk 2077 almost made me feel like it was made with love yes it wasn't perfect but it was still cared for very much so and the way it was constantly updated and how much cdpr listened to their audience with so many changes and updates it made me feel seen and "loved" as the audience . I doubt many ppl would ever say a game "loves them" but lately idk. These games have been feeling like a warm hug hitting all the right spots of my brain and I love them. And I think all game devs should strive to make their audience feel loved when playing their games I'd say it's what the consumer deserves loved so much u enjoy it yeah

Tottmnt!Mikey is the oldest headcanon still lives! (at least nothing has negated it yet lol ;) )

Also seems I was kinda right in thinking that Mikey is having a bit of a crisis of identity, and he seems to struggle a bit with self-comparison, with a lot of focus on Leo in a way that seems self-deprecating. (I feel like there's been some tension set up between those two, with Leo's jabs in the first episode, and now in Mikey's flashback in this episode he has Leo blaming him for their predicament. all of this is feeding into my head canon about those two being the oldest, but Mikey shirks a lot of responsibility onto Leo.)

Rod apparently follows in a line of red-headed characters who manipulate Mikey in some way (Bradford for 2012!Mikey, Meat Sweats for Rise!Mikey). Seems to be another one of those things that's a universal constant. Sure Mikey here obviously isn't totally swayed and is manipulating Rod right back somewhat, but Rod is definitely holding the cards in this situation since he's basically holding Mikey's brothers' lives in his hands. (well, at least as far as Mikey is concerned he is. I kinda can't help but take Rod's claims about his dad with a grain of salt but that might just be because I'm an adult watching this show. He's also just insufferable enough that it might just be true, but still. it's kinda moot anyway cuz obviously there's ten more episodes of this and the end of the episode didn't just hand Mikey the easy solution.) I'm not sure what it is about Mikey that makes pairing him up with a manipulative character a go-to story-line, but evidently there's something there about that.

anyway, it works leading into his arc for this episode. Mikey starts off feeling the need to do something to help is brothers but he isn't sure what. The weight of that responsibility bears down on him and scares him, so when Rod seemingly offers him an easy solution that takes the responsibility off of Mikey's shoulders, it makes sense that he would jump at it.

All that said I think it's a little unfair to call Mikey irresponsible as is implied by both Leo and Rod, because I don't necessarily think he is? Like okay, far and away breaking the zoo's fuse box was super irresponsible, but he at least has the wherewithal to realize it within a few seconds of doing it as opposed to later in the episode. just in terms of disposition tottmnt!Mikey seems a lot more grounded and down to earth than the more 'spacey' 03, 2012, or even Rise!Mikey's (also me calling them 'spacey' is not me dunking on those characters I don't necessarily mean it with a negative connotation, it's just a difference I noticed.) Like I was saying, I feel more like Mikey is more afraid of responsibility than he is actually irresponsible, but the fact that he stepped up to protect Rod at all from the mechazoid I think indicates he's ready for more than he thinks, and we kinda see that with how he handles the situation with Pidgeon Pete.

Honestly the situation could have continued to escalate so far out of control (and- while I'm not exactly sure what the current status regarding any possible future seasons of this show is- they left the situation at the zoo pretty open for consequences that could bite him back later), but the way he diffuses it and defeats the mechazoid kinda shows a level of maturity I don't think we get very often from Mikey in general.

So that's episode two down. I'm kinda starting to lose steam because it's getting pretty late here, maybe I'll squeeze in episode three before bed? but I probably won't write anything about it until tomorrow. I don't have any head canons or predictions going in for episode three, so I guess it'll be a bit of a surprise.
