You'll need to restart the game, but no worries. I added the option to start from chap 3 (I hope I coded that right this time)

This chap is meant to be more 'chill', with MC spending time with people close to them. Everything 'dramatic' is more in a RO's pov than MC's. Also, I fixed some typos, bugs, errors, and some other things, but I'm sure I didn't catch everything as I said in my previous post. I'll get to that when I'm done with LAD and tackle any issues when I see them or when generous souls report them to me.

BIG motherfucking shout out to my beta testers and to anyone that reported bugs/errors etc. via inbox/mails/discord/patreon! I really am grateful for the time you took to send me those.

That brings us to around 160k words for this chapter, but it'll probably feel like ~70k words if not less because of the different branches and variations.

Public release of CT:OS Ch 7 pt. 2

The public release of the Chapter 7 pt. 2 update has gone live! Play it here!

This covers the quarter-final match against Sam, the post-match interview, and the conversation with Sam after :) 

Word count: About 70k words in (messy) code, but likely about 20-25k words play-through since there’s quite a few varying branches in this (different partners, Felix hookup etc.) ​

The band was her idea, after all. She’s level-headed, composed, and always there to talk you down when you need her. Sometimes, she acts more as your retainer than anything else…

Stevie is tall and skinny with light brown skin and extremely long, curly black hair which she always wears in a wet look. She has big, dark brown eyes and a soft face.

Paul/Paulette Zima, lead singer & saxophonist (f/m selectable, trans) — “Trying to figure out where you know me from?”

Your band’s brand-new, second lead singer. Your manager says they’re going to give your music the kick it needs, that they’re the one missing ingredient to your success. You’re not entirely sure if you agree. Worse yet, you happen to know this person, and your time together didn’t end on a favorable note. They’re part of a past you would much rather forget.

Paul is very tall, broad-backed and thickly muscled with light skin, shoulder-length slicked back brown hair and bottle green eyes.

Paulette is of average height with an hourglass/slim thick figure. She has dark brown hair with parted bangs and light blonde strands dyed into it. Her eyes are bottle green.

Angel Monsanto, guitarist (m) — “I was always going to make it big, with or without those guys. Only, I… I really wanted it to be with them.”

Your crazy but good-hearted guitarist. His passion for music borders on obsession, and he will stop at nothing to make a name for your band. Sadly, he’s very much of the conviction that all publicity is good publicity, which has encouraged him to pull some very questionable stunts in the past. 

Angel is of average height and build with a warm beige complexion and long black hair. He has a square jaw with an occasional five o’clock shadow and brown eyes. 

Lincoln Saunders, groupie?? (f/m selectable) — “What can I say, I loved them.”

Calling Lincoln a fan would be an understatement. Fanatic is more like it. You remember seeing them at your very first show, and you’ve continued to spot them at every venue you’ve played at since. You don’t know anything about them, and perhaps changing that would be a very bad idea. But maybe you still want to.

Lincoln (m) is short and lean, with an angular face and wavy blond hair. His eyes are cobalt blue. 

Lincoln (f) is petite and tan, with a youthful, round face and chin-length blond beach waves. Her eyes are cobalt blue.

Others:

Maddox Wells (m), drummer

Another one of your oldest friends. You don’t much like to talk about what happened with him.

Fatima Shah (f), drummer — “I’m pretty sure they used to try to make me disappear with their fog machine.”

After things didn’t work out with your original drummer, Fatima saved the day. She’s a sweetheart to you, but from what you’ve heard, she can be kind of a terrible person. Maybe it’s best to stay a little wary of her.

Kalena Graham (f), manager — “The first time I saw them… well, they kind of sucked. But I knew, I just knew, that they had what it takes to suck on an international level.”

Your band’s manager. You can’t believe how lucky you were to have caught her attention. She’s experienced, driven, well-regarded in the industry and… kind of mean, to be honest.

Simon Young (m), reporter — “Start at the beginning. And then, don’t stop.”

The guy conducting the interview for Groove Magazine. He’s nice enough, if a little starstruck. It seems he has been waiting a long time for this.

Demo Update (July, 10, 2024): Episode 1

Hi Hello. Yes, I know. :< I went dark again! This time it was because I ended up changing more last minute and didn't want to moan on about the excuses so I hunched away to work on it in silence. :> I think I've made it clear through my actions that I am not a social media person so I tend to neglect the 502 Tumblr when I write. Sorry :< A lot happened in my life since posting the pilot but I did say I would never abandon 502 and I meant it. I struggled with my work/life balance since starting an IF (it's a lot of work) but I'm glad I'm here to I can update the demo now!

What to expect:

Some things to take note of:

The news anchor route is not available. I didn't like the direction I was taking it and haven't figured out what I want to do with it. It's not gone permanently but this update it'll be blocked off :<

Stats are still not updating. I ended up changing them multiple times and realized I wanted to wait another update to figure out what stats I want to focus on. The story gives me many directions to go on when it comes to stats and I want to make sure I hone in on the stats that will apply the most of MC's story. The stats are there so you won't get any errors but they won't move or anything and they'll most likely change.

There may be some inconsistencies, typos, errors or things that don't match. The product of writing half the chapter over nine months ago and going through many changes. :< Please let me know if you find errors. You 100% will in a 100k chapter.

I would HIGHLY recommend you start on a new save as I have had to make some changes to variables and stats which will be detailed below, but starting from an existing save may break some things later in the game for you and you won't unlock the codex or stat pages if you don't.

Hello. I apologize for the delay and the lack of promised communication. This past month has been very difficult for me, and for most of it, I wasn't able to sit at my computer at all.

Still, I've decided to release what I've managed to finish so far [83k words], even though I had really hoped to release the full update all at once.

What the current update [Chapter 3 Pt. 2] includes:

A return from the crime scene to the department [main story evening scene].

Important notes:

S's scene includes a sex scene, but currently, only the "fade to black" option is available [it's tone down, but still remains detailed up to a certain point]. More explicit options for the scene will be added next Friday instead of the usual "Progress Update".

The option to view the code is turned off and will remain disabled until the update goes public.

What remains unfinished and will be added:

R's scene [I was unhappy with the rewritten version and don't want to include it until I feel more confident about it].

T's scene [not finished].

S's scene [an additional branch for the sex scene for virgin MC].

The content listed above will be added within the month, as I expect to also need time to fix bugs and address error reports from readers.

PUBLIC UPDATE: The Festival of Eostre (END)

Hello hello! It's time to conclude the Festival and the childhood segment of the game!

PSA: This is NOT the same build that patreons got in April. This build features everything I've done for the current Patreon build so I will be listing all the new features and content below. There is an updatescript that will help fix bugs- BUT it's finicky with old saves. If you are having issues, you will have to start a brand new save. After that, there should no problems in the future (fingers crossed)

Childhood segment of the game comes with its own mini stat page with physical descriptions. It gets overwritten after the time skip.

Armoury/Inventory:

The armoury is where all item, weapons and trinkets you've collected on your journey will be stored. Some items will increase your personal stats, which will help you to pass stat checks. You will be gaining items for the armoury in later updates.

Cast Page: I actually forgot about this one. But if its working, it's because it was from the early alpha. I will come back to it in the another update.

A few UI changes. The Player and Armoury as been added to the Footer of the interface for easy navigation.

Alright, I'll first say it as a warning: it's a big hit or miss. I didn't have any 'bad' outcomes from my Ko-fi supporters, but we never know—some of you might be disappointed or glad. Idk.

Anyway! In this second part of this chap, you will:

Have some alone (short) time with your best friend after your call with Vince

Try not to fall with your RO

Spend time with your group of misfits

Spend time with your brother and other 'second' characters

Have another nice call

Experience a flashback

Go on a date (or decide to cancel it)

Lock your romance route (or decide not to romance any ROs)

Chapter 2 is at 160k words (excluding code), bringing the whole game to 280k words.

This time, you'll have to either restart the whole game or start from chapter 1 or 2, because there are some codes/variations/errors I modified and changed to make them work properly.

This chapter has a pretty beefy/substantial word-count (total wordcount is now 898k!)

Fall festival (mini-car trip to a nearby town: hang out with your hallmates, feast on doughnuts and pies and apple cider, kiss in a corn maze with G)

Experience the fall-out and consequences of your Halloween Hookup (if you’d done something with Felix…) this got a lot lengthier than I thought (and very branchy) 

Extra fall dates with Tobin/Rayyan (if romanced). This includes a hike or a run + dip in a frigid lake, respectively — you can commit to them on these dates!

Gear up for the National Doubles Tournament — including some friendly matches to decide who’s picked to represent Cargill, and who your doubles partner ends up being (Felix is an option…)!

Play the first three rounds of the Doubles tournament (win all of them, and you’re through to the quarter-finals!)

Bump into a certain redhead who’s now more foe than friend (technically, anyway)

Spend your first night in the hotel room (pre-match shenanigans with one particular character, for the brave and the lucky…)
