I don't know why am I like this or what can I do about it. I've been feeling everything is dirty lately and I don't know how to clean everything. I bought a new mattress in February and I still haven't used it because I'm afraid it will get dirty if I sleep on it, or if I install it on my "dirty" bed frame, do you have any advice on these things? Besides the obvious one aka therapy? Would you clean everything you touched while being dirty (dirty meaning you haven't.... (this is part two)
Anonymous said to effys-closet:showered in a week)? How would you start cleaning a room that's all dirty including the walls? I just want to get my shit together and be a normal human again. I'm sorry if this is too awkward for you to answer. (this is part three and the last one)
I don’t think part 1 ever came through but I’m going to try and answer this best I can from just these two. It seems like you’re struggling a lot and that therapy would be a good option for you. I’m not a doctor or anything, but it sounds like you might be developing a form of OCD. A preoccupation with cleanliness shouldn’t be dictating your life, but it’s definitely something you can work on and get past. The thing about getting into the habit of cleaning stuff is that you’ll perceive it as getting dirty again very quickly, and that can lead to loops of constantly cleaning the same thing over and over. If therapy is something that will take time for you to get into, there are also some great self-help articles and programs you can try. The ones I’m going to link are for OCD because a lot of people with that disorder experience a similar preoccupation with cleanliness. Check the ones here, here, and here.
