Name/Alias: Pomni / Kaleidoscope
Age: 25
Occupation: Cipher
Further Information: [REDACTED.]
She was discovered at a traveling circus that she had joined after her parents died, not having any other family members or friends to rely on. So the circus became her new home and she learned many skills through her time performing and perfected it. And one day during her acts, some people grew an interest in Pomni and essentially bought her to join their secret alliance and test what she was capable of. They needed someone with zero ties and no family in the off chances their suspicions were off about the potential of who they chose.
Pomni excelled in every task given. Her handle with sharp blades was something to be wary of. But she's rather cold and callous; her eyes shined with limited expectancy, her eyes always hung with gated judgement and strait-laced; a woman with nothing to lose and no attachments to emotion to hinder her from their field of work. She was perfect.
The travelling circus was a grounds to train potential new recruits to mold them into machines to join their secret organization of agents that ranged in talents, without their prior knowledge. It was obvious, in hindsight, however; everyone apart of the organization reeked of melancholic energy. Feed on the weak and create monsters out of them.
She accepted, without a single thought more to stew in doubt. There was no doubt within her hardened shell. An assassin, a cipher; skilled in her tactful art of precision with her hands and body. Very flexible, fast moving, silent. Her stamina was unparalleled and her words were little. Respect went a long way with her and only then would she grant more than silence.
An assassin needed to be perspective, quick on their feet and easy to manage situations under pressure; the circus did well to key in those factors for her. Almost catlike reflexes to her subtle steps and movements. She'd been the perfect creation for their cause. One that was still unknown about. Questions weren't what they needed, but someone who could understand and follow commands. She'd be the perfect fit.
Her eyes were pinwheels but to escape her identity ever coming undone, she bores contacts of a ruby and sapphire eye. Her hair was brunette, but the length varied. Bangs long enough at the sides to frame past her chin to her shoulders and hair braided down and in front past her rib cage.
She'd adopt the alias: Kaleidescope, or Kaleid for short. Her targets nor anyone else could know of or figure out who she was besides those who hired her - and it's better off that way; it was her greatest weakness, that and the true nature of her eyes that she kept hidden behind contacts.
Intel came in through a shoulder grab, a lean into her ear and a faint whisper. Kaleid needed to act and it was her time to shine. Her blades are sharp and holstered, hidden in many crevices throughout her body in case of a needed emergency. Foldable, retractable, long, short, you name it, she has it. And the venor to find who pissed off her hired heads begins.

so great that you're open to write about renato, I swear that man doesn't get enough recognition 😭 anyway, he's very private about his personal life (u literally don't see any gossip about him on media) but I would say he's a very funny and chill guy. he lowkey gives off intimidating vibes tho but that's only his outside, he actually has a good heart and he's very nice.
that said, I'd like to request an imagine where he starts dating a girl and he's so head over heels that he actually goes public with the relationship for the first time ever, maybe hoping on a funny tiktok trend or making an heartfelt post about her on ig, your choice. and his fans go crazy bc that's not like him but at same time they love to see it and congratulate both of them. even the reader is shocked bc she knows he likes to keep his personal life private but he's so in love that he had to let the world know. something like that, hope it makes sense, thank u 💓

𝘗𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴: Renato Sanches x Female Reader
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 1k
𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘦: It definitely does make sense! Thank you so much for clarifying everything for me (: I Hope you like how I represent your idea ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚!!
(っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ REQUESTS ARE OPEN, currently swamped with college work, uploads may be limited to weekends for the time being. Thank you for your patience c’: ♥
Baby, calm down, calm down. Girl, this your body e put in my heart for lockdown
You and Renato laugh and dance to the tune while the TikTok audio sings. The two of you decided it would be great to hang out by the pool in the backyard now that Renato has a few days off from practice and the weather is good. After some swimming, you laid down to get some sun but just for a short while because Renato requested you to record a tik tok with him. Obviously, you joyfully agreed. Renato was not a big social media user as he preferred to keep his personal life private, but that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy creating memories.
Currently, the both of you are recording tik tok videos to the hit song 'Calm Down by Rema'.
"No, not like that, like this!," you laugh as you try to demonstrate the dance to your lover, Renato. He laughs as he makes terrible attempts to imitate your movements, He waves his palm at the phone, saying, "I got it I got itttt, just start the timer." You swiftly set the timer and return to your position next to him while maintaining a smile. The ringtone sounds three times as the countdown begins before the audio plays again.
Baby, calm down, calm down. Girl, this your body e put in my heart for lockdown
You start dancing, tilting your head to the side to look at Renato, only to see him struggling again. You are laughing so hard that you are having difficulty dancing on your own. As Renato overhears you laughing, he smiles and rushes over to pick you up, causing you to squeal and giggle while kicking your legs back and forth as he heads towards the pool. You shout "Renato!" and plunge into the water. Once you both submerge, he lets go of you, and as you both swim back to the surface, you immediately wipe your eyes and push your hair away from your face. “I am going to soooo get you!,” you exclaim while splashing the water towards his direction. As you and Renato splash one-another in the cool, refreshing water of the swimming pool. He couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of happiness and joy. He is head over heels for you, and being able to goof around with you like this only made him love you more. Despite the fact that he usually doesn't show any emotion, which is why many people mistakenly perceive him as intimidating, he actually is a goofy person with a lot of love in his heart. While he was lost in his thoughts you take advantage of the situation and suddenly dunk him under the water. He sputters and laughs as he resurfaces, shaking the water from his hair. "You are so mean to me!" he playfully whines, grinning at you. You just laugh and splash him again, your eyes sparkling with mirth. Renato couldn't believe how lucky he is to have you in his life. He had never felt this way about anyone before, and it was both exhilarating and terrifying. But in this moment, as you two play in the water, Renato pushes all of his fears and worries aside. He is living in the present, enjoying the moment and the company of the girl he loves.
You beam with joy as he says, "Alright, you win, you win!" "I told you I'd get you!," you teased. He chuckles as he swims to the pool's edge, exits, and walks over to his phone. The tiktok video is still there when he unlocks his phone, which surprises him because he assumed it wouldn't have been saved. He turns to face you and smiles as he notices you in the pool floating on your back. He then starts to consider doing something he has never done before: posting on his social media about the two of you dating. Renato knew that being a public figure, his every move was scrutinized by the media, and he didn't want his relationship to become the talk of the town. Despite his fears, Renato realizes that he cannot keep his relationship a secret forever. He knows that he loves you and wants to be with you for the rest of his life. Renato also knew that he cannot let his fear of public opinion control his personal life.
He decides to take the leap of faith and go public with the relationship.
Inputting the description, Wouldn't want to spend my vacation days with anybody else <;3, and posting the video, he bites his lower lip. Unaware of his actions, you ask, "Are you coming back in the water?" as you see him turn to look at his phone. He shouts "Yes I'm coming back now!" as he posts the video in a hurry. He then moves over to set his phone down on the patio table before sprinting over to the pool to cannonball.
You two carried on enjoying your day at the pool while the video quickly became popular. The sight of their beloved futebol star, Renato, with his girlfriend thrilled Renato's supporters as the comments section was flooded with messages of support and love. Renato's fans were happy to see him happy, and they welcomed you into their hearts with open arms.
By the end of the day, when you two have had enough of the outdoors, you wrap your towel around your waist and go inside to take a shower. You glance at your phone as you make your way to the restroom, and when you see all the notifications that are appearing on your lockscreen, your eyes widen. You open Tik Tok after realizing that the notifications were related to a video and are shocked to see Renato publish the video of him scooping you up and diving into the pool. Since he preferred to keep his life private, you never imagined that you would be placed on his social media, but you couldn't help but smile now that the secret is out. The comments section is flooded with congratulatory messages, and his fans were going wild over the video. They had never seen this side of him before, and it was refreshing to see him so happy. Renato was overwhelmed by the positive response from his fans. He realized that he had nothing to fear and it made him happy that his fans respected him not just for his futebol skills but also as a person. He knew that his personal life wouldn't distract him from his futebol career and that he could balance both with ease.
Over the next few weeks, the relationship was the talk of the town. The surprising news was shared across all futebol social media platforms, and everyone was recognizing you whenever you were in public. While you did not mind the attention, you were initially concerned about how Renato might react. But, Renato was eagerly soaking up all of the attention as well. The world now knew about his stunning woman, and he was really pleased about it.

(pyro here! i feel like this is...very ramble-y and i apologize if this doesn't make sense, and no obligation to post if it all feels like i'm just going in circles or for any other reason)
this could just be me, but i find keeper to be so interesting in so many ways but mostly because of how little actual good guys and bad guys there are, if that makes sense? it doesn't seem like it on the surface, and the story seems rather clear-cut if you don't think about it too hard, but there's no character or group in the series that's completely perfect and hasn't done anything wrong ever, iirc? like, the council is very obviously not too pressed over whether their actions are morally right and they're the government of a species that's supposedly all about being righteous, and neither are the black swan nor neverseen, which i find really interesting to look at, especially when the protagonists start to realize these things and question them, outwardly or inwardly.
and even any developed individual characters aren't clear-cut. yes, sophie is our protagonist, but she's also an arsonist that frequently breaks the laws of her world and has nearly started a war by breaking a treated because she was curios as to what was in an ogre king's mind. linh is- well, she's the token nice asian girl, but she also flooded an entire city, twice, and has most definitely killed people. dex may not have done anything really wrong, but he still created the ability restrictor, a device that put his best friend through days/weeks of torment, all because he was happy to recieve attention from the council. and that's just three of the main characters.
and i'm under the impression you really don't care about the council (which is fine and totally valid!) but it's still so interesting how the three important characters from there follow this as well. oralie was revealed to be sophie's mother meaning she committed treason and should probably be in exile, kenric was actively hiding important information from oralie (and knew about her being sophie's mother and therefor was a willing accomplice to treason and should also be in exile), and bronte has gotten...better(?) in the later books? maybe?
i suppose im wishing that shannon will deliver on this in the future, but im not really getting my hopes up. sophie is very interesting, but the books have always framed her actions as the right ones to take, no matter how terrible the consequences could've been, and they definitely frame the rest of the "good guys" as, well, good people who do good things, which isn't exactly true in most cases. i just...i guess i find it really interesting. i'd also be interested to hear your thoughts on this! on the surface, keeper really does seem like a rather basic series, but it's cool how if you dig even just a little deeper you start getting messy.
hello pyro !! nothing to apologize for, I love rambling! and you are in luck because I happen to have so many thoughts about everything all of the time.
and I agree with you! When you first think of keeper—or at least when I do—I seems very black and white, even bland at times in terms of the interest of the characters and the aspects of their world. Especially when you’re an older reader and have since read more adult books with more complex characters. Which is common. Because these are middle grade series and there’s more limitations of what topics authors can reasonably cover. They’re being careful. Because their audience are young and impressionable and despite their best efforts may be influenced subconsciously. So they have to lay things out more clearly, explaining that actions are bad when adult readers can put that together themselves.
(I know there are a lot of younger people in this fandom so let me clarify: I am not saying you are incapable of critical thought. However, thorough analysis becomes easier with experience, and adults and older readers will often have more experience with this than you. We’ve also had more time to figure out our own opinions and morals. This is not meant to put you down, just remind you that there are inevitable differences between us).
Back to what you were saying, pyro, despite its appearance, when you take a closer look there’s actually not a lot of black and white—or at least not as much as you’d think. I know there’s a canon line where Sophie says something like “the Black Swan were…the good guys?” (paraphrased from the first book). Which makes sense because at this point in time she’s twelve, where it makes sense for her to have that very black and white mindset. Good and bad. Pleasant and unpleasant. it’s a very all nothing mindset, which I know I also had at that age. But as she’s grown older in the series, she’s thinking about things from a more mixed perspective. She’s bargaining with herself and deciding what’s worth what and if the consequences are worth the risks, making decisions she likely would’ve condemned earlier in her life. Like setting the storehouse on fire. That’s a very loaded and controversial decision from her. It’s neither good nor bad. It accomplishes something she wants—sending the Neverseen scrambling and setting them back—and she decided that was worth the consequences—burning potential information and doing something that might’ve been previously against her morals. It’s not the “right” decision to make. It’s just the decision she makes.
We see this a lot with Black Swan too. I’m actually going to bring their oath into this: “I will do everything in my power to help my world.” It seems simple and straightforward at first, but thinking about it, there’s no qualifications for what “help” means. And there’s no limit on what they’ll do, just that they’ll do it if they’re capable. This leaves it open for a lot of morally questionable decisions, like creating Sophie. Did creating Sophie help their world? She’s already started to make positive changes (like at Exillium) and she’s not done yet, so you could say yes she’s helping. And they were capable of bringing her into existence. So they did. It was in their power and it helped, so they did. Despite using Emma’s body, despite forcing Sophie into this situation.
with the Neverseen, they seem more like misguided anti-heroes (if I’m using that term right), doing “bad” things for “good” reasons. Fintan is making these bold statements and undermining the council, actions viewed as negative, to try and highlight the unfair discrimination in their system and reform it—a motive one could consider reasonable and positive.
as for the council, the most notable event this applies to is Sophie’s ability restrictor in Everblaze. This was not supported by everyone else, actively hurting out main protagonist, but their reasoning was generally sound. Sophie had already broken several laws at this point as was causing unrest in their society, the one they’re supposed to govern. And she’d used her abilities yet again to go against those rules, this time with incredible serious consequences. So if she refuses to listen, what do you do? Take away those abilities. Keep her from hurting this society further. There are more specific examples of this, like Oralie and Kenric’s cache, but this is getting long so i can talk about those later if you’d like /g
part of what is intriguing about these characters is how they’re not so black and white on the surface despite the world seeming to be so easily divided into good and bad, so it’s fascinating to talk about how those parts are actually displayed. You brought up a lot of really good topics and I love talking about this!! /g
if you’d like me to expand on any specific part more or have more thoughts of your own to share, you’re more than welcome to send another ask <33
