DATING A⇴Z HEADCANON ⇴ Kim Hyojong

A ⇴ AFFECTION

Hyojong is incredibly soft around you, he loves to be able to cuddle up to you and often uses his affection to make sure that you feel loved as that’s his number one priority. His affection will always be close and meaningful with you.

B ⇴ BEFORE DATING

The two of you met when you were working at the studio that he was rehearsing at. You weren’t quite sure what it was about you both, but the two of you just instantly seemed to click. You spent the whole day chatting away to each other and getting to know each other, finding out about all the things that you had in common with each other.

C ⇴ CONFESSION

It didn’t take too long for Hyojong to confess to you, he enjoyed your company, and there was no way that he was going to risk losing you to someone else first. He confessed one evening when the two of you went out for a walk, he sat you down on a bench halfway through your walk, taking a tight hold of your hand as he tried his hardest to remain calm and tell you everything that he wanted to say to you.

D ⇴ DATES

Hyojong always made time for you, at least once a week the two of you would have a whole evening where you’d just be with each other, with your phones switched off. He knew he was busy a lot, so he’d make up for plenty of lost time with your dates. He would make sure that every date the two of you had was special and made sure that it was something you’d remember. He much preferred your dates to be quiet and relaxed then anything too overwhelming, his main focus was just being able to talk to you.

E ⇴ EXPERIENCE

He didn’t care what anyone thought about the fact that he was in a relationship, he wanted to put his own happiness first, regardless of what anyone else thought. He knew what he had to do in order to go about things in the right way, having learnt from previous experiences, but if anyone was to tell him no, then he’d definitely go ahead and do the complete opposite. He was his own person, he didn’t need his company to tell him what he could or couldn’t do, his career would always be important to him, but so was love.

F ⇴ FIGHTING

The two of you didn’t tend to fight often, but if you did, it would usually end in something pretty big. The two of you were stubborn, and firmly believed that you were right in any disagreement that the two of you had. It would usually take for one of your friends to nudge the two of you back together and encourage you to talk things through. As much as you hated to fight with each other, you both knew that arguments were natural in relationships and that no one expected to live your lives always on the best of terms. Eventually, the two of you would always talk things through and carry on like nothing ever happened.

G ⇴ GETTING TO KNOW HIS FAMILY

To begin with, Hyojong’s family were quite protective, it took a couple of visits for them to really warm to you. It certainly made you nervous for a while, but as you gradually began to feel that you were accepted as a part of his family, it definitely made life easier for you, and put you in a much happier position with Hyojong.

H ⇴ HOME

Hyojong didn’t want to rush your relationship, he wanted to work at a pace that was comfortable for you both, but as he began to work a lot more, he was keen to move you in after a few months so that he could spend more time with you. He didn’t want to wait for days to see you anymore, he wanted to see you when he got home instead.

I ⇴ “I LOVE YOU”

He was the first one to say, ‘I love you,’ when you surprised him at a concert. He hadn’t seen you for a couple of weeks because he was working so hard, so when you had the chance to head over and see him, you took it in an instance. He didn’t have time to think when he saw your face for the first time, he just found himself letting you know that he loved you.

J ⇴ JEALOUSY

Around other people is often when Hyojong will feel most insecure. He knows that others think of him as a bit of a unique character, so when someone else tries to compare themselves to him, he’ll often shrink back into his shell. Just the feeling of your hand holding onto him will usually be enough to convince him that he has no reason to get jealous, but for the rest of the night he’ll definitely be a bit off the ball until the two of you can finally leave and he can go back to being in a more comfortable environment.

Starting a family was a huge deal to Hyojong, he wanted to complete that family dynamic whenever the time was right for the two of you. You knew at the start of your relationship that his career was the priority, but as your relationship became more serious, that focus tended to shift more to trying to find a balance of making his career work, but also looking towards a future with you, preferably with children too.

L ⇴ LAUGHTER

You loved the many quirks that Hyojong had, he was unique, which was what you loved the most about him. There was never a day when he didn’t make you laugh, even if he was busy at work, he’d send you a dodgy selfie or send you a silly joke that he knew would put the smile on his face. He didn’t care how much of a fool he looked around you, if it was enough to make you laugh, then it was good enough for him. You would never not find yourself smiling around him, you just couldn’t help but enjoy Hyojong’s company.

M ⇴ MISSING

Now that he was travelling alone, Hyojong was more desperate to have you with him than ever. He’d try and work his schedules around you too so that you could take along and he could show you a bit more of the world. If you weren’t there, touring and promoting would feel very lonely for Hyojong. Not having you by his side was hard for him, especially if time zones meant that he wouldn’t be able to call you every day or receive a text from you. Whenever he came home from tour, he didn’t let you go for a very long time, he knew he had a lot of time to make up for, and despite your protests, he’d refuse to let you go.

N ⇴ NICKNAMES

When you first started dating, Hyojong mentioned to you how he loved when you called him ‘jongie,’ so that was what stuck for you both. Any time he heard you say it, it was a guarantee that his cheeks would turn bright red.

Hyojong is obsessed with your heart, he loves what a pure and kind person you are, it’s the exact type of person a personality like his needs.

Whilst he’s not over the top with his affection, Hyojong isn’t afraid to be affectionate with you in public. When he tells you that he doesn’t care what other people think, he means it, if he wants to show you off and hold you close to him, then he will. He never fusses or lets other people’s stares bother him.

He’ll ask you a lot of questions, as he loves to strike up conversation with you. A lot of his questions are random, but that’s something that you’ve come to expect over the years, you never quite know what he’ll say.

R ⇴ RANDOM FACTS

Whenever he’s away on tour, Hyojong will carry a bracelet with him and wear it for his shows. It fits in well with the other bands around his wrist, but when you see it on his wrist, you know that he’s wearing it because of you. In interviews or segments, he’ll often fiddle with the bracelet to make a point of making sure that the camera focuses on it so you can see that he’s playing with the bracelet especially for you.

S ⇴ SEX

He’s incredibly soft when it comes to intimacy, he loves to make sure that you feel loved and special around him. Out of the two of you, he’ll tend to be the one that dominates a little more, he still likes to be the man and be the one to put in all the hard work, but if you mention to him that you want to switch, then he definitely won’t turn you down. Ultimately, all Hyojong ever wants is for you to be happy with him.

Texting is not something Hyojong is a fan of, if he wants to get in contact with you, he’ll usually call, just so he can see your face. Even if it’s only for a couple of minutes, just being able to see your face is a huge relief for him.

There were many times when Hyojong was left feeling pretty misunderstood or like an outsider, but around you, he really knew that he could be himself. You made him feel safe and protected, which was all he ever wanted.

Hyojong loves the fact that he’s the one who can show you the world, he loves to take you to new places and give you as many new opportunities as possible. Even if it’s just a quick stop on a tour or for a promo, he’ll make sure to show you around so that you can explore and open your eyes to a whole new world.

If he doesn’t have your attention, there are definitely times when Hyojong can get quite loud to make sure that you know he’s in the room and wants you.

He’s incredibly affectionate, and with that, he loves to kiss you. His kisses vary a lot, sometimes it will just be a light peck on the cheek, other times he’ll love to tease you, either by allowing his lips to linger against your skin or nibble gently against your skin. The feeling of you squirming as he presses his lips to you is exactly the reaction that Hyojong craves, all he wants is for you to be on your toes when he’s around.

A/N: I’m so sorry if this is really short. I couldn’t really think of a good way to write this 😭

When Hyojong first saw you dancing, he became immediately interested. He soon would find himself walking passed the dance studio you always practiced in.

One day he poked his head into the studio and saw you dancing to "Shine" alone. You were so invested in the dance you didn't really pay any attention to him as he watched you from the doorway.

The minute he made his presence known, you stopped dancing and turned to face him in shock.

"Hello!" You both said in unison.

You smiled sheepishly as he made his way towards you. "You dance really well." He stated, smiling.

You could feel you smile get bigger as you looked at the floor. "Honestly!" He exclaimed. "It's crazy that you haven't debuted yet."

A giggle escaped your lips as you glanced back up at him. "Thanks."

He looked at you for a moment with a small smile, his hands stuffed in his pockets. "What?" You asked, making him chuckle.

He shook his head and smiled wider. "It's nothing." He stated. "I should really get back to practice."

He turned on his heel and started for the door. "I'll see you around, Y/N."

“Look, Hyung!” Hyunggu yelled over the loud music, not-so-subtly pointing to a group of girls that had just walked into the bar, “hot foreign girls!”

I laughed loudly but complied, slightly turning around to look at the newcomers. There were three of them, cheerfully chatting while walking towards the free table right in front of ours.

“Let's say hi!” he said pleadingly.

I shook my head. “I think Changgu-ya and Yenan-ah want to go, though,” I said teasingly, noticing they were both staring at their table.

My words alone were enough for Hyunggu to forcefully lead both guys towards the girls. Yanan sent me a terrified look that I replied with a smile, shrugging my shoulders innocently.

I watched in amusement as my friends approached the ladies. Hyunggu casually sat on their table, engaging them into a conversation, while the other two awkwardly stood at the side until one of the girls motioned them to join too.

“Jinho-hyung, what are you laughing at?” asked Hwitaek, getting closer, taking Hyunggu’s previous spot in front of me.

I motioned him to look at our three younger members. Apparently, the guys had mentioned us as well, for all three girls turned their heads on our direction. I briefly locked eyes with the girl sitting in the middle and she smiled before returning her attention to Hyunggu. I couldn't help but stare. She was breathtakingly beautiful and I could see my dongsaeng thought so too, as he was leaning closer towards her, excitedly talking about who knows what.

Changgu too seemed to have hit it off with the girl in front of him, as she was laughing loudly at something he had told her. Even Yanan was shyly interacting with one of the girls.

“Aah, how nice to be young,” I joked, receiving a confused look from our leader.

“Hyung, you are only 28!” he exclaimed and I laughed in reply.

“You old people,” exclaimed Hyojong, standing next to us and laying one hand our shoulders, “let's go get some drinks at the bar!”

After downing a bottle of soju each while talking at the bartender, a close friend of Hyojong from middle school, we went back to our table. Changgu, Yanan and a the two girls they had been talking to had joined Yuto, Wooseok, Shinwon and Hongseok and were playing 3-6-9. Hyunggu and the third girl, however, were nowhere to be seen, so I assumed they had gone somewhere together.

We all played for a while, drinking every time we lost, and losing more frequently every time due to the higher amount of alcohol in our systems.

At some point, I spotted Hyunggu dancing with a petite Korean girl, and realized someone wasn't right.

“Changgu-ya, wasn't Hyunggu-ya with the other girl?” I wondered curiously.

“Ah, it seems she wasn't interested in him. She was barely talking to him, and then she left,” he explained.

“I told you it wasn't like that! She wasn't feeling well, so she went to the toilet,” one of the girls exclaimed.

“She went to the toilet about an hour ago,” I said, trying to make sense of what she was saying. “She wasn't feeling well, and you all left her alone for a whole hour?”

“She's fine, it's only a slight fever,” said the other girl, “she took some ibuprofen before we left the hotel, she should feel better now.”

Did these people lack common sense? Even after two whole bottles of soju I knew it was not OK to leave a sick person on their own. And she was a girl, for God's sake! I sincerely hoped no one had decided to take advantage of her.

Without saying anything else, I stood up and rushed towards the women's toilet. Luckily it didn't take me long to find her, as she was sitting on the stairs that lead to the lavatories.

“Are you OK?” I asked softly, crouching in front of her. She raised her head, that had been previously resting on her knees and looked at me.

“I'm fine,” she said with a smile, “it's only a dream.”

I looked at her oddly, shaking my head. “You aren't dreaming,” I told her and placed the back of my hand against her forehead, “you are burning up!”

“I never dreamed of Jo Jinho before, though,” she continued, ignoring what I'd just said. She knew me?

I suddenly swelled with pride. Being recognised was still something new for us, even after two years had passed since our debut.

“Why did you come here if you weren't feeling well?” I decided to ask her.

“It's our first weekend in Korea,” she explained, “the girls wanted to go out.”

“You should have stayed anyway,” I told her and she pouted. Why did she have to look so cute even in her condition?

“I can't leave them alone, they can't even find their way back home in a city they have known since they were born,” she said and sighed. I could definitely relate. I nodded in understanding before standing up.

“Let's go look for your friends, so you can go back,” I told her and she shook her head.

“I can't ruin their fun yet,’ she said, “I’m fine.”

“Let's go to our table, at least,” I tried to convince her. “Can you stand?”

I extended my hand and she took it, getting up with effort. I held her by the waist and guided her across the tables full of drunk people. I noticed she was almost the same height as me with her heels on, and I was amazed at how well she fit my arms.

Ahh, Jo Jinho, you really have to stop drinking so much! I scolded myself. When we got to the table, she almost immediately fell asleep against my shoulder, act that didn't go unnoticed by my group members who teased me non-stop until I finally managed to convince everyone it was time to get back home.

a/n: seeing as i have no motivation to do anything but write, here’s a little writing I had while listening to music.

light laughter could be heard from the living room, the owner’s voice belonging to (y/n) as she pushed his frantic hands. he laughed as well, continuing to do as he was previously.

she teased him, stating he couldn’t make her laugh without his voice. obviously, she forgot that one of her weakness were her sides. knowing this, he easily tickled her to no end. it was only till she flipped the pair onto their sides, did the tickles reside. however, their giggles and humorous laughter could be picked up on. 

it was merely Wednesday morning, lack of schedules for the pair had the two grinning at one another as they sighed in content. it was only till his phone ringed, making him frown slightly as he got up to answer it. she, on the other hand, had stayed on the floor, watching his lips move as he conversed with the other person on the line. 

as he ended the call, he placed himself back in his previous spot beside his partner as he brought her closer. 

“are you sure you don’t wanna do this on the couch? isn’t it a bit uncomfortable?” she questioned, her arms looping around his neck as they laid facing one another.

he shook his head as he flashed a familiar grin, arms resting on her hips, “i’m fine, besides the couch is a bit far”

she mentally smacked her forehead, the couch was merely an arm's length away. he gave her a knowing look, before ruffling her hair with his hand. 

and the pair continued to quietly admire each other on the floor of their living room, that Wednesday morning.

I was thinking to have a light-hearted first request, maybe we can write a scenario for all the members playing the Don’t Laugh Challenge? The one where people do funny things to get the person doing the challenge to laugh, then they all take turns. I’m wondering who would crack first and who would last longest. Lol

as the oldest hyung he starts the game and sits down on the chair in front of the other members

smiles in amusement all the way through but doesn’t actually crack up

has surprisingly much self-control

Hui starts singing very dramatically and Yanan and Wooseok start harmonizing in high pitch

even at that sight Jinho doesn’t laugh and just watches everything patiently

until Hyojong points out that he’s technically lost cause he’s been smiling the whole time

Jinho complains and gets attacked with tickles in return

of course he immediately starts giggling and is forced out of the chair

Hui:

everyone’s wondering why he even tries

but here he goes, bursting out laughing before the game even starts

when Jinho and Hyojong try to drag him out of the chair, he protests

“Hey! The game hasn’t started yet!!”

so everyone goes back into position and Hui actually manages to keep a straight face for a second or two

…until Hongseok gives the start sign

the members start doing stupid sh*t right away and Hui just loses it

again, Jinho and Hyojong drag him out of the chair

“I wasn’t ready!!” Hui tries to protest, but it’s too late already

he somehow ends up sitting on the floor for half of the next round, still in disbelief he couldn’t save his reputation as a respectable leader this time either but when does he ever lol

he isn’t even half bad at first

Shinwon thinks of a super bad pun and whispers it into Hongseok’s ear, confident he’ll have him with this

Hongseok just raises an eyebrow at him though

maknae line tries a triple attack

he finds them so adorable he would’ve almost slipped up

then Jinho appears from behind, hugging him cutely and doing aegyo

that’s when Hongseok bursts out laughing and covers his face from second hand embarrassment

Hyojong:

pokerface all the way through

I don’t know what’s funnier - the fact that he just stares off into space without moving a single muscle throughout the entirety of his round, or just how idiotic his members must look trying desperately to make him laugh 

like Yanan and Hyunggu both go for cringy aegyo that has no effect whatsoever

Changgu pretends to be a melancholic DJ somewhere in the back

Shinwon and Wooseok make funny faces at him, and even though they’re hilarious, Hyojong just…. stares

Hui pretends to be a monkey eating lice off Hyojong - leaves him totally unfazed but half of the other members are cracking up in the back

when Hyojong sees them he almost grins to himself fondly and one corner of his mouth shoots up for a moment

“Ya! He lost! He laughed!” the others start screaming, at least half the members tell Hongseok to end the game, Hyunggu runs over to Hyojong to hug him laughing

in the end the mess in front of him makes Hyojong laugh too

Shinwon:

Changgu starts another acting attempt, this time as a drunk uncle

Shinwon just observes everything with a gaping mouth

he may or may not already be grinning

but he’s used to the craziness of the other members, so he doesn’t find them all that funny

that’s when Yuto appears behind him, uttering a deep-voiced Yutoda, sending Shinwon jumping out of his chair

“Whoa, you surprised me!” - he’s still not laughing though

“Didn’t he lose if he got out of the chair?” Jinho starts nitpicking

so Shinwon complains because he did not lose.

of course the others see their chance and join in, someone runs around the room screaming, someone else found the light switch and keeps turning it on and off a normal day with ptg

Hongseok tries to calm everyone down and gets swallowed up by the chaos instead

everyone just screams for a few minutes until Hyojong starts tickling Shinwon’s sides and he laughs out loud

“There! He laughed!” Hyunggu shouts

Shinwon has to admit defeat

Changgu:

“Okay. I can do this!” he tells himself and holds up his fist in determination

Hui starts his lethal attacks but somehow Changgu sits through them, repeatedly calming himself down with breathing exercises

he keeps closing his eyes for a few seconds to recollect himself, when Hongseok interferes

“If you keep closing your eyes you get disqualified!”

he nods and tries hard to stay calm while the others pull their stunts in front of him

in the end he accidentally closes them again and starts laughing when he realizes his mistake

“I can’t believe he made himself laugh!” Yuto comments and everyone spends a good five minutes trying to stop laughing because of that

in the meanwhile Changgu just,,, regrets

Yanan:

sits down and as soon as the game starts he smiles awkwardly

“Hey! Didn’t he already lose?” Hui points at him

the good dongsaeng he is, Yanan gets up and towers over Hui, trying to play-intimidate him while complaining

but he starts laughing immediately

“Well he definitely lost now…” referee Hongseok comments but lets him try again in the end

so Yanan collects himself and sits down once again

Hongseok gives the start sign

Wooseok starts playing peek-a-boo right in front of Yanan’s face

Yanan cringes

Yanan laughs

Hui complains again

meanwhile the others drag Yanan out of the chair

Yuto:

the others know from the start that he won’t be an easy one to crack

so they plan ahead on how to trick him

as expected, when the game starts he wears a perfect pokerface

the others start making faces and cute and weird noises

of course he doesn’t react, but it’s all part of the plan

“Whoa, you’re really good at this!”

“Really! Where did you learn this from!”

“I could never be as good as you are!”

and that’s when he smiles from all the compliments and Hyunggu points at him, starting to laugh

“He laughed!!”

Yuto tries to deny it and ends up actually laughing softly in the process

Hyunggu kicks him off the chair cause it’s his turn next

Hyunggu:

the game hasn’t even started and he’s already cracking up

tries to collect himself and fails twice

is finally calm after the third time

but we all know the others wouldn’t play nicely and start tickling him

and we also all know just how ticklish Hyunggu is ksdjlfka

so he starts laughing again

then complains (still laughing ofc)

the members start taking pity on him and let him do one last round

Shinwon makes a funny face that reminds him of an ugly animal and he laughs again within seconds

buries his face in his hands blushing because he can’t be THIS bad at the game

Wooseok:

doesn’t really want to play at first

is surprisingly competitive as soon as he gets into it though

similar to Hyojong, his pokerface is top notch

he’s a little weaker to the cuteness of his members though

though when Yanan does something that’s supposed to be aegyo he just stares at him blankly

so Hui comes up to him crouching, making weird noises while looking at him with big eyes

that’s when Wooseok has to grin

“Ah, I really lost against Hui-hyung…”

disappointed in himself, he gets up and walks over to the next wall to lightly bump his head there

“I can’t believe this…” he keeps muttering, wallowing in his defeat for the rest of the day

Part 1

Jinho-sunbae said he'd be done with his practice at eight that night. So at half past seven I was already waiting in front of his practice room, dying from curiosity about what he had to tell me.

Had it been a good idea to pick him up? I hadn't talked with any of the other Pentagon members before, and I was starting to get anxious.

I was still considering leaving when the door opened, revealing a very confused Kino.

“Oh? Who are you?” he asked, surprised by my presence.

“Umm… I…” I stuttered, “Hello, Hyunggu-sunbae.”

One by one, all the members started approaching to the door, and suddenly I could feel ten pairs of eyes staring curiously at me.

“Y/N-ssi? What are you doing here?” said Jinho-sunbae.

“I thought I'd pick you up, but maybe it wasn't such a good idea…” I said softly.

“Ah, it's alright. I need to take a quick shower, though. Can you wait for me a while longer?” he asked. He seemed a little uncomfortable as well.

“Hyung? Is she your girlfriend?” asked Hyunggu, trying to understand the situation. Sunbae seemed embarrassed, so I decided to clear the misunderstanding myself. It had been my fault after all…

“I'm Y/N, his student,” I said and they all nodded in understanding.

“Your student is a girl?!” exclaimed Hyunggu surprised. Jinho nodded silently an hour then started walking to the locker room.

“I'll be back soon!” he told me with a smile. And then he disappeared from my sight, leaving me surrounded by nine very curious young men.

“So you are really not his girlfriend?” asked me their leader. I nodded in reply.

“Are you taken?” asked Hyunggu, looking me up and down.

“...No,” I answered hesitantly.

“You are a trainee, right?” asked Hui and I nodded.

“AH! I remember you!” exclaimed Changgu suddenly, “you were supposed to debut with (G)I-DLE!”

There was an awkward silence, and I noticed Hui had elbowed him, probably for being inconsiderate. I smiled, though, trying to reassure them it was alright. It was true, after all.

“That's right, sunbaenim” I confirmed, nodding.

“How old are you, Y/N-ssi?” asked Shinwon.

“I was born in 1994,” I replied. Was this some kind of interview? Didn't they have anything better to do? Like, taking a shower maybe?

“You are older than most of us, then!” exclaimed Yeo One.

“Noona, do you like younger guys?” asked Kino. I raised an eyebrow at him.

“I don't really care. I don't have time to fall in love now,” I told them truthfully.

“Well, interrogation time is over, guys!” exclaimed Jinho, who was finally back. I let out a relieved sigh, that didn't go unnoticed by him, as he smiled at me gently. There was a collective ‘ooh’ from the members, probably teasing us.

“Shall we get going, Y/N-ssi?” he asked me and I agreed.

“It was nice meeting you all, sunbaenims,” I said bowing slightly, and followed Jinho out of the company's building.

“Sorry, sunbaenim,” I apologized sincerely. I didn't know him well, but somehow I knew he tried to avoid situations like this.

“Don't worry,” he replied with the warmest smile he had given me so far as he ruffled my hair. I stood still, surprised by the sudden gesture.

“What do you want to eat, Y/N-ah?” he asked. Y/N-ah? First he invited me to have dinner, then he messed my hair, and now he had dropped the honorifics. Had we become closer? The thought made me happy. Maybe we could remain as friends even if I stopped being his student.

I was so lost in thoughts that I forgot to reply until he stopped walking and stared at me expectantly. “Ah, I'm fine with anything,” I told him.

“Really? I’d kill for a hamburger right now,” he commented, “is fast-food OK?”

I chuckled. I wasn't expecting that from him, but I was definitely alright with that, and I told him so.

We ate in a comfortable silence. We had been starving.

It was only when we had satisfied our hunger that he finally mentioned the ‘important thing’ we had to talk about.

“I've been invited to participate on Fantastic Duo,” he started.

“That's great! Congratulations!” I exclaimed. I didn't know much about the TV show, but I knew many amazing singers had been there.

“Thank you,” he replied smiling, “but there's more.”

“What do you mean?” I wondered.

“Usually fans audition to sing with their idols there… But our CEO wants you to sing with me,” he explained.

“I'll be singing too? But why?” I asked, confused. Of course I was happy to finally be able to sing in front of an audience. And to do it with Sunbae, whom I admire, was more than I could ask for. But it didn't make any sense.

“I can only think of two reasons,” he said, “he’s either testing you on your performance, or he wants to see how people react to you. Possibly both.”

I must have looked scared, for he spoke again. “It's your chance! Let's show them the best performance they've ever seen. They'll absolutely love you,” he said and I felt like hugging him. Those were the most encouraging words anyone had ever told me. So I trusted him. For the first time in months I smiled genuinely  and looked into his eyes, hoping he'd understand how grateful I felt for everything he had done for me.

“Thank you.”

oh lord this is starting badly

I have no idea how you’ll even get him to enter that haunted house but let’s pretend you did

probably with candy or smth lol

screeching

lots of it

is very aware that he should be the one protecting you, but he’s too scared for it

he tries putting his arm around you once but gets startled when you turn to look at him

somehow ends up clinging to you throughout most your time inside the haunted house

you aren’t actually as scared as you are cautious of Jinho freaking out next to you, so you put your arms around him in an attempt to protect him

there’s this one pitch black room he’s especially afraid to go into

you see the people in front of you go through it just fine, so you assure Jinho that you two will come out unharmed as well

but luck isn’t on your side - just when you’re in the middle of the room, something falls down from the ceiling, right onto you and Jinho

this time you both scream and run for the exit

having left the room, you take a last look back, realizing it was just a black wig dangling from the ceiling

there will be lots of Jinho’s cute noises and screams, and you’d be lying to yourself if you said you didn’t find them adorable

but the relief when you two are finally out of there and you can feel him relax a little is bigger

Hui:

he will try to act tough and take your hand before walking into the house, telling you not to worry because he is right by your side

he will most certainly also be the first one to scream like a baby

“Oh, that surprised me,” - with that stupid grin of his

in the meanwhile you are shivering next to him, unconciously moving closer

he realizes you’re actually scared and puts his arm around you, guiding you through the haunted house

you’re almost out when you see a blood-smeared person lying in the dark corner of the last room, and you refuse to pass it by

at the back of your head you know that that cannot possibly be a real corpse…

…or is it?

when Hui tries to lead you through the room, you shake your head, tears welling up in your eyes

“Wait here,” he says, and lets go of you to approach the person

just when you want to scream at him to stop, he suddenly holds the “person’s” wig in his hands, and then the head, proving to you that it was just a doll after all

you manage to get out of there, and a few minutes later you can hear some staff yelling

“Who of you was it that started dismantling our props?!”

needless to say, Hui apologized for about an hour to the staff and assured them he would pay for a new doll

Hongseok:

convinced you to go to the haunted house with him

knows you’re scared of dark, spooky places and is determined to take away your fear

holds your sweaty hand all the way through and refuses to let go

“If we’re going down, we’re going down together.”

“…not that anything bad’s gonna happen to us.”

“Hongseok…?”

“Yeah?”

“Just stop talking for a moment.”

it doesn’t take you long to realize that the silence scares you a lot more than Hongseok’s rambling annoys you, so you silently curse yourself for telling him to shut up

you hear a scary noise coming from around the corner and instinctively jump closer to him

“What is it?” he asks and you point at where the noise came from

but it doesn’t seem like he heard it

are you imagining things now…?

that’s when the noise is heard again

so Hongseok carefully walks towards the source with you and makes sure you know there is no real danger

he rubs your back to comfort you, and somehow by the time you walk out of the haunted house you’re not so scared anymore thanks to him

the others get suspicious as to why you were in there for so long, and they start teasing Hongseok how he shouldn’t do inappropriate things in a haunted house of all places

but you step in and defend him, feeling very thankful for his patience

Hyojong:

oh dear lord, another one who can’t handle scary things

will ask you to hold his hand the entire time

will probably also scream the entire time

tbh you two just dash through the haunted house in record time together, not really taking in many of the surprises waiting inside

when you reappear next to the rest of the members within a few minutes, none of them are really impressed

they start complaining that you should walk through the house properly

so they end up shoving you inside one more time, this time threatening to have dinner without you later on if you don’t at least stay in there for 15 minutes

which is long for two people who are scared af

so as a revenge you two start plotting a prank on the others later on

planning goes rather well while you’re still in the queue, but both of you immediately forget about your plans as soon as you enter the haunted house

scary noises here, some weird dolls there, and not enough light to feel safe from any monsters jumping out around you and kidnapping one of you

you’re holding hands again and both your fingers are cramping around the other’s hand so much that nothing and nobody could separate you

or so you think

until a “ghost” (ergo, a person wearing a white sheet with some cut out eyes and mouth) appears in front of you and starts chasing you around, then running past you inbetween you and Hyojong, forcing you to let go of each other because neither of you wants to touch the scary creature

with horror in your eyes you stare at each other, before you two link arms and slowly proceed further, hoping the 15 minutes will be over soon and that the ghost will leave you alone now

Shinwon:

look, we all already know how this is going to go

he is literally scared of EVERYTHING, so he must’ve lost some kind of bet to go into that haunted house with you, because within the first three seconds he will already have attempted to jump into your arms for you to carry him around like a scared puppy twice

you’re more annoyed than anything that you’re stuck with him in a haunted house, so while he whines a few steps behind you, trying not to lose sight of you in the dark building, you just want to get out of there as fast as possible

little does he know that deep inside you are at least as afraid as he is, you’re just a bit better at hiding it

you enter the next room and something loud passes by right above your heads, probably even touching him due to his height

the next second you can feel him clinging to you from behind

your heart starts beating like crazy, but you tell yourself to play it cool

at least one person in here has to keep their calm, right?

come the next room, you hear layered laughing

even though you know full well that it’s just an audio track playing somewhere, it freaks you out

and Shinwon doesn’t seem to deal with it any better than you do

once again, he reaches for you for support, but this time you’re not prepared at all

you whirl around and scream at him, leading to him screaming at you

you stand there like that for probably a minute or two, looking like idiots

when you both go silent and realize how stupid you must’ve looked, you burst out into laughter

“So you’re scared too, huh?” Shinwon asks.

you nod

“Is this why you didn’t want to go in here with me?”

you wonder if now’s the time to be honest with him

hesitantly, you answer

“…I didn’t want to look uncool in front of you.”

“What should I say? I’m supposed to man up and protect you here…”

he holds out his hand to you and gives you an honest smile

“Let’s just be uncool together.”
