Significant Brothers by E. Davies
Tumblr media
Title: Splinter, Grasp, Slick, Trace, Clutch, Tremble, Wintersweet Author: E. Davies Series: Significant Brothers Number of Pages: 1568 Genre: LGBT Romance   Publisher:  E. Davies Date of Original Publication: ASIN: B08BJB7MG1
Significant Brothers is the second series I’ve read now by E. Davies and I think it was better than the Hart’s Bay collection. E. Davies does a wonderful job at creating strong character development and interesting storylines.
This collection revolves around 6 high school friends who are now adults and all finding their significant brothers and career paths. The 7th book of the collection is a novella at the end that brings them all together.
I admire this series because each character has their own personality and E. Davies does a good job at emphasizing their careers and how they shape their everyday lives. Each storyline is well developed and has a perfect mix of comedy, connection, HEA, and drama.
★★★★★ I would definitely recommend this series.

Each cut, each scar, each burn, a different mood or time. I told him what the first one was. I told him where the second one came from. I remembered them all. And for the first time in my life, I felt beautiful. Finally part of the earth. I touched the soil, and he loved me back. Secretary (2002) Dir: Steven Shainberg

How I sacrificed everything to beg Russell T Davies to canonize Richard E Grant's Doctor
Several years ago, when it was announced that RTD would be returning to Doctor Who, this trend started of people commenting on his photos "Like this comment if David Tennant is coming back," "Like this comment if Donna is coming back" etc.
So I decided to comment: "Like this comment if you're going to canonize Richard E Grant's Ninth Doctor." And so, he liked my comment. And then he blocked me. And for years now, when I tell people that RTD blocked me on Instagram I have to stop and explain the whole story.
Anyways, last night this happened:
Tumblr media
That's an image of Richard E Grant in a lineup of all the TV Doctors, including Hurt and Jo Martin. According to people who worked on the show, it's a special photo taken of Grant just for this scene.
So thank you Russell, it was worth it.
Incidentally, I just want to explain that I was a big DW fan before 2005, so I saw Scream of the Shalka at age 6 and was really dejected when Dad explained it wasn't going to continue. I've long head-canoned that the Richard E Grant Doctor is out there somewhere, with Time War shenanigans accounting for it all. Here's my custom Shalka Doctor:

Felt like sharing one of the best comments I've ever received. This was about my Jack and Phryne video. Forever humbled by people who take the time out of their day to write such wonderful things. I love fandom.

so i have this au called "the mage's heir" where davy never gives simon up after lucy's death and, instead, makes the decision to raise him alone. and kinda does okay! davy is still all *snazzy piano riff* and shit, but in this verse, taking care of simon when he's small forces him to step away from his work and chill the fuck out a bit. at least for a little while. (simon winds up growing up into a signficiantly more arrogant and morally grey version of himself tho.)

Hart's Bay Collection by E. Davies
Tumblr media
Title: Hard Hart #1, Changed Hart #2, Wild Hart #3, Stolen Hart #4 Author: E. Davies Series: The Hart’s Bay Collection Number of Pages: 1152 Pages Genre:  Romance Anthologies Publisher:  E. Davies Date of Original Publication: October 10, 2023 ASIN: B0CKS178CN
I’ve been jumping around with LGBT fiction and authors. I was not familiar with E. Davies but Audible recommended them to me. I decided to download two collections by them and finished them between November and December. I would recommend them as an offer.
Hart’s Bay was a great collection of four novels that revolve around a group of young adults who buy a house in a rundown town. They each plan on running an art collective down town but end up branching off and partnering up with people in the town. They open new businesses and bring the community back together.
E. Davies does a good job at character development and relationship development with each story. They are each unique and do not get repetitive like some collections. Each character has their own flaw and they eventually overcome their issues.
I wish this series was longer as there were more characters that could’ve been developed.
★★★★★

NASA concept art by Don Davis, featured in The Rotarian, June 1978: "This artist's conception of a huge space colony could become a reality by 2008. Floating in space more than 250,000 kilometers from earth, the colony would house a population of 10,000."
