I had an 18month review at work (did not get a 6 or 12 month review btw) where it was revealed to me that I was behind where I was expected to be on one of the key performance indicators and I’m very much stuck in a rut between “fuck I didn’t think I was behind and I feel really disappointed that I’m not performing at the level I’m expected to be at this stage” and “how the FUCK was I meant to know I was doing something wrong when no one pointed it out until NOW? I didn’t even know what those analytics even MEANT nor did I have access to them!!”

#It’s a KPI on how much money I bring in from diagnostics and it’s lower than it should be because I don’t resee patients #But like! Yeah people kee saying case continuity but few of my cases desperately need continuity compared to needing someone competent #And my burning fear of owners verbally harassing me for the prices I DO NOT SET makes asking for a follow up VERY DIFFICULT #and like my boss gives me all this wonderful advice on how to deal with the situations but the simple fact is #When an owner has decided I’m a despicable evil bitch for these costs no amount of conversation will convince them otherwise #And they so RARELY want to be given the management email. They don’t want to talk to management who will take my side #They want to make me cry and feel awful to try and guilt me into lowering the price bc they know management won’t do that #Like I can get the KPI up by asking owners to book in on one of my surgery days. Fine.#But if no one’s told me that I need this statistic for this reason why would I insist they book in with me?#Your dog is painful and needs this removing let’s get him in tomorrow vs I want to see this dog back let’s get him in in three days time #This looks like a complicated lump let’s get you seen by an experienced surgeon makes sense to me for value for money #Idk I just feel like the meeting was useful but it would have been MORE useful to know what was expected of me and why A YEAR AGO
