(WATCH) watching mine while drinking their beverage (thrandy and bard) -✧- @muutos

The Elvenking of Mirkwood and some of his kind had been invited to Dale for a spring-time celebration. This was one of the first events held by the humans, finally having a sufficient place to host their allies and friends from the Lonely Mountain and from Mirkwood.

Bard sat near the head of a long table, along with his children and some notable merchants. Thranduil and his elves sat at the table also, with the King sat next to Bard himself.

The tradesmen and merchants sought talk amidst the dinner of their plans for the near future. Such talk as this wore out the bowman quickly, and though he replied when directly spoken to, he distracted himself with food and drink. It was not long before something else distracted him - a feeling of eyes that were watching him closely, burning into his flesh.

When he subtly glanced up, in the middle of drinking of his wine, his gaze landed on Thranduil who watched him over the rim of his own glass. Bard swallowed stiffly as warmth flushed through his body, fanning out across his chest. He looked away, hoping the Elvenking noticed nothing out of the ordinary with his reaction, and set his goblet back down again. Now he was growing painfully aware of each of his movements: with his hands, his fingers, his lips, his eyes. Chancing a look back up, the elf was still watching him.

This time, he lifted a silent brow in question at him, daring not say a word as many others conversated nearby. The sounds and sights of the room around them began to fade from Bard's focus as he could not ignore the other King and his enthralling gaze. The strong elvish wine that had been brought for the feast did nothing to help.
