🎉 The (Late) New Years 🎉

Shadow Milk is definately very delighted when you want to spend New Year's Eve with him, mostly because he knows that you'll be his even after the ball drops.

After all, who else would you rather be intertwined with other than the beastly jester himself?

Shadow Milk uses strings to wrap around your waist and pull you in close for the last kiss of the year.

After that will be the biggest party the jester has ever created! A party is needed for New Years, after all!

Even so, Shadow Milk still spends most of his time with you, giving you kisses all over and clinging onto you eagerly. Why would he ever want to leave the side of his doll?

He still hasn't let go of you, even when the party comes to an end.

Fancypants, of course, also holds a party on New Year's Eve, although it is something much more upper-class and luxurious, with sparkling water, the best foods chefs can offer, and even a front-row seat to a classy fireworks show.

Even with all of the sparkles and flashes, his eyes are still on his most expensive thing yet: you.

Fancypants is at your every beck and call, making sure everything is perfect for you on this night. After all, you deserve the world!

Starlo feels his heart skip a beat when you decide to spend New Years Eve with him, and he's one clingy cowboy for the night, smothering you with kisses and reminding you how much he loves you.

There's nothing too fancy for when it becomes the New Years, simply spending the night with Starlo, keeping him close, and wrapping each other up with sweet nothings.

Hornet doesn't exactly celebrate New Year's Eve or New Years, considering her society is much different than ours, but she does have something to show you when you decide to spend the night with her.

Instead of sparkling juice or loud fireworks, the night sky is lit up with soft fireflies that dance in coordinated precision, creating a quiet ballet for you and her to admire until the sun begins to rise.

When the morning sun hits your faces, Hornet bows to you and asks for you to be her first duel for the new year. It would be an honor to be her first fight to be with you, after all.

Lear has made many extravagant and luxurious preparations to this day. He's a prince, after all, he has to make all of these spectacular things happen... and yet his eyes stay on you for the night, and he can't pull his gaze away ever since you chose to spend your New Years with him.

Even as the cheers of trainers and Pokemon surround the night, Lear's mind is on you, wondering if this will be the year he could make you his royalty.

Lear doesn't want to outwardly show that to you of course- he's not blushing, it's just the light that's playing tricks on you!

Bill is both ecstatic and disappointed about the New Years. Ecstatic since his disciple chose to spend the time with him, but also disappointed since he was told that he couldn't plunge the world into complete chaos. But fine, if that's what you wanted...

...Although maybe he could bend time a little to spend more of it with you? Just a bit?

You're the one who chose him to be with, it's not his fault time decided not to start the New Years yet! Although Bill might have to answer to Time Baby later.

It's at least worth it for you, just so he could have you close and see you smile...

Maybe when the night does end, you can figure out how badly a triangle can actually blush.

So when it was revealed the first attack on Keyleth was Ludinus trying to test drawing out Vax, folks were pointing out that Ludinus would have had to stay up to date on Vox Machina romances in order to have the information to make that plan, which is very funny. I posit an additional hypothetical: if the preliminary attack had accidentally been fatal for Keyleth herself (I say accidentally because Ludinus would want to wait to execute the plan in full later, so wouldn't have killed her then) then Ludinus would have lost his bait and would have to figure out another way to draw out Vax.

And you know what that means. Matchmaking. Get the sad bird man to fall in love again so he can threaten the new person. Ludinus using every iota of his skill in manipulation and patience and influencing of events to set up Situations, and he needs it because as a celestial champion Vax is not just walking around into your average coffee shop. He becomes the king of tropes. He reads trash romance to get ideas and runs into Caleb at a naughty book store in Rexxentrum and it's very awkward for both of them. With centuries of experience and villainy, HOW has it come to this-

Fancypants was nervous when it came to the thought of each other meeting the others' parents, but you assured him again and again that things would be alright. However, when you first met his parents, things were very tense. It was clear that they didn't exactly approve of your relationship as Fancypants would've hoped, and it left a sour taste in his mouth when the two of you left. Your parents though? They were automatically ecstatic, talking up and down to Fancypants as if they were an old friend, or maybe even already part of the family. It at least helped to lift up the spirits of the fancy unicorn knowing that he was accepted at least in one family for who had fallen for.

Hi! Let’s get cooking:

—Scoutmaster Lumpus never did see his parents again after they stopped talking in 1988, (17 years from 2005, see episode: “Parents Day.”) When he got engaged to Jane, she insisted he be the bigger man and call them to invite them to their wedding. When he tried, he couldn’t reach them. After some digging, he found out they had both already passed away. It hit him hard and he almost called the wedding off.

—Edward’s millionaire dad, Antonio, is homophobic. After Fancypants came out, he kicked him out of the house and forbid any of his sons from talking to him. (Fancypants has a ton of money of his own and landed on his feet, but that’s neither here nor there for this.) This was very difficult for Edward, because Fance was the only stepbrother he liked. It meant too that he had one less ally in the Platypus Mansion versus his other stepbrothers when they bullied him. When Edward comes to grips with being gay himself, he nearly has a nervous breakdown at the thought of being disowned himself, and at a much younger age than Fancypants.

—Philip was born of an affair between Antonio and a woman besides his first wife Regina, and before Antonio met Susan. This broke Antonio and Regina’s marriage. Philip’s mother then refuses to have anything to do with Philip, so Antonio gets full custody. Cheesly and Alpine haaaaated Philip for this and basically acted like he was an intruder to the family. Only when Susan came into the picture and Edward was born did Philip become accepted by them, and that was only because they were now unified against Edward. Horrible.

—When Samson’s a young adult, there’s a few years where he moves into an apartment. To afford it, he needs to take in two roommates who eventually stop helping him with payments and reveal themselves to be manipulative slobs. Only with the help of Lazlo, Dave and Ping Pong is he able to do something about it.

—Patsy took Lazlo coming out as gay harder than she’ll ever admit.

—Before Jane Doe was promoted to Denmother, she served as Denmother’s Assistant to a perfectionist, verbally abusive old crone, Denmother Carson. (I’ve posted about her before, if you search my stuff.) Carson made her life miiiiserable and there were many times Jane wanted to up and quit.

—Nurse Leslie didn’t want to go into the medical field, but his family, the Sharkiros, have a longstanding tradition of it and essentially forced him.

(Ah crap. I ran out of tags. Never mind, we persevere!)

—Ms. Mucus is divorced.

—Gordon the bear has an anxiety problem.

—There was a time where, before he worked at Camp Kidney, Chef McMuesli wasn’t just a voluntary nomad but legitimately homeless and broke.

—99% of the time Clam doesn’t mind being judged for his unusual speech pattern and appearance, but 1% of the time (when it’s by Scoutmaster Lumpus or some other authority figure,) he does.

—I can’t explain it but there’s something about Scoutmaster Wesley and the way he talks and treats his genius scout (see episode: “Prodigious Clamus”) that just screams he has a history of cruelty and selfishness far beyond that one instance.

—Lazlo and the Loons’ parents were all very accepting and encouraging in regards to their orientations, so you can imagine how much they felt for Edward who was in a much worse situation.

—Edward, as a young adult, eventually writes off his father, Cheesly, Alpine and Philip, while still being close with Susan and Fancypants. Antonio makes it hard for Edward to interact with Susan for some time out of sheer spite.

—Bill struggles with self-image and he copes with this by trying different accents.
