Probs unpopular take, but I don’t think Pandora was actually that crazy, like she was definitely odd but she had to tune herself down a considerable amount.

She grew up in the (then) esteemed house of Rosier, she was expected to be a proper lady. She was under considerable pressure to conform and she didn’t like being ostracized, even if she was unwilling to compromise certain aspects of herself in that pursuit.

In private, she was herself but in public she learned to appear composed, she didn’t like being made a fool of, she didn’t like being called names. So she just.. didn’t speak, didn’t rock the boat too much. Slipped under the cracks. She was content to live like that, but there was always an ache in her heart from the fear of going entirely unnoticed, of being forgotten.

At home, her grandmother praised and loved her dearly but not everyone was as warm. Her father was a difficult man and more so after Pandora’s mother died shortly after giving birth to her brother Felix. Pandora had no intention to please him in the way Evan did, but she did feel responsible for things running smoothly at home.

Pandora always felt a little responsible for other’s emotional state. She wanted, no, she needed everyone to be okay, lest things be wrong. Lest she be left to pick up the pieces. She needed to soothe and maintain the peace, she was always walking on eggshells. Both her father and Evan were wildly temperamental and such displays made her deeply uncomfortable, the yelling especially made it hard for her to breathe.

She was a pacifist, and like Regulus, passive in her actions. She didn’t want Evan to join the death eaters because she knew it was unsafe, not because she fundamentally opposed them (which she later did mind you, but way too late), but because she didn’t want to lose her brother to a war that she naively (in her privileged point of view) believed neither of them had a part in.

Personal loyalties are more important to her than sides, much like Narcissa.

Pandora is nice, kind, but she is not intrinsically good. She’s not a monster, mind you, but like Regulus, she is human.

Pandora was afraid, she had every right to be, she wanted to live, she wanted to be great. She knew non of them would make it, but it didn’t deter her, she thought she could outrun fate. She tried, she tried so hard, to defy and delay what was inevitable. But one cannot outrun themselves.

Luna grew up to have her mother’s kindness, but most of the way she is was informed by her father. Luna was ALLOWED to be herself without consequences from within her own home (that is not to say she had it easy at school, people were so cruel), Pandora was not. Pandora was under scrutiny from the places that mattered most, she found solace later in life, but this too was short lived.

"you know, it's one thing to avoid the press and the raving lunatics calling for your head, but sending me to voicemail? rude." he doesn't wait for an invitation or offer any kind of greeting before the preamble, doesn't bother asking after the man's mental state or tiptoeing around the nastiness of it all, because donny feels a nasty little bit of hurt pride in all of the avoidance, even if he understands the reasons behind it, and it simply won't stand.

and so he does what he does. he pushes his way into the house, closes the door behind him, and sets a bottle of premium liquor on the table like a silent offer and a casual answer to a prayer. he shucks his jacket off his body and tosses it lazily across the back of a seat he has no intention of sitting in. he toes out of one shoe and then the other and leaves them sitting in a very pointed gesture to make it clear he won't be shuffled right back out the door again.

and then he looks at felix, really looks at felix with an almost condescending mix of pity and genuine care, a careful balance of the worry he feels for a friend in a tragic situation and the ruffled annoyance he feels at being shut out when he could be a good person to lean on in a crisis. he is, after all, excellent with crisis management. he did start his career in it.

Description

Inspired by the Lives of the Twelve Caesars by the historian Suetonius, The Exiles of Tiberius shows a frieze of people banished by Tiberius, the tyrant who ruled Rome from 14 to 37 BCE.

Evoking the faces on ancient coins, the strict profile of the republican senator in his toga, bidding farewell to the land he is abandoning, conveys a sense of austerity and moral rectitude. In front of him, the dejected, hooded woman in black is like a personification of grief.

Like David in his Sabine Women, the painter demonstrates his talent by offering a variety of facial expressions. In spite of the classical restraint, the vigor of the oarsmen instills a kind of romantic elan into the composition, setting up an echo of Gericault's Raft of the Medusa. The boat thus partakes in the symbolism of the passage from life to death, one of the great themes running through nineteenth-century art.

Okay I imagine that as a child Félix was insanely attached to Adrien and simultaneously jealous of him BC of his relationship with his parents, bc Émilie was always around and Gabriel at least liked him, while I believe Amélie was around but not really and Colt was just downright abusive (we hate Colt Fathom in this house btw)

But also he (Félix) knew atp that he was formed by jealousy whilst Adrien was formed by love, so he is simultaneously hating his own jealous and bitter nature and also always playing into it. He fully believes that he can't overcome his nature atp (when I think all sentimonsters can) most likely BC he didn't know very much about himself, being a sentimonster, and all that entails

Intriguing... Did either at least five fics get untagged Felix Ravinstill on ao3 or did five fics get deleted? I swear It used to be 176-178 fics in the Felix tag when I last checked (a few days ago)? Or perhaps, I am just misremembering. I've never been good with numbers.
