2, 4, 6, 12, and 29 for riya, maeve and aphrodite!
i loved these questions and then god decided they shouldn't be answered bc i got struck w brain struggles, internet issues, and tumblr overwriting new edits almost every time i tried to work on them so uh. i'm in hell but at least my girls are cute idk // oc ask game
2) what sort of music would they like? have you thought about what genres or bands do they lean towards? do they have a favorite song?
first of all: thank you for psychically sensing one of the questions i was most interested in and enabling me, long answers incoming. second: must be noted that in any aus where riya & maeve are in modern verses with aphrodite, they’d both be Obsessed with her and her music. third: going with those modern verses for riya & maeve bc like idk what they’d have going on in canon. fourth: 3/3 hit all pop girlies w this list lmfao.
RIYA — anything that you’d file under club or stripper music, she’s vibing out to it on the daily. pop, house, rnb, rap, whatever twerk anthems fall under lmao. the only time she adds reminders to her calendar app of her own accord are for album releases of her favorite artists and i know that for a fact. she’d be a huge megan and cardi fan (you can only imagine how insane she went over WAP), other artists fluctuate depending on releases and her current vibes. w/e the modern equivalent of rivaini music would be add that on because her dad would've gotten her obsessed. i don’t think she’d have a single favorite song, it’d be changing week-to-week and almost certainly influenced by who she’s been hanging out with the most those days. also!! i think this is another area where riya adapts to her partner(s) in that she’ll grow to enjoy or even love different genres if they’re passionate, share their music with her, and she doesn't outright hate the genre to begin with.
MAEVE — THE founding swiftie of my oc catalogue, it’s not even funny how much time and money she (and then ilya <3) would be throwing at that woman. it's heinous, a quarter of her closet is merch for one artist. i generally see her being big into pop and all of its variations, because that covers such a huge variety of music tbh. outside of that i can see musicals, a wide range of instrumentals (she'd love the instrumental covers of modern songs lmfao), and probably some kpop?? i don’t know enough about it to pick anything out, but she’d love the girl groups. i can’t say her favorite song, but i can list a few albums i know she’d have vinyls of that she cares for like they’re her first children: literally every taylor album, sour by olivia rodrigo, my 21st century blues by raye, renaissance by beyonce, actually probably all of ariana’s too, wasteland baby! by hozier, all of stela cole’s works if they're printed. i think there'd also be some older icons like whitney houston, madonna, mariah carey, etc etc, but i don't personally know enough about them (at this time) to make solid album choices.
APHRODITE — #1 in her heart literally always is kesha, doesn’t matter what song it is she’s going to scream about it being her fucking favorite and know every damn word. the animal & cannibal albums were her everything and still are, favorite song is probably either boots & boys or kiss n tell (do NOT talk to her about how she's had full-on sobbing breakdowns listening to multiple songs off of those albums after the seven breakup, she’s livid he ruined them for her) ((she’s the one who fucked up the relationship but w/e)). she listens to a lot of the pop (and all its variations but mostly synth, r&b, punk, rock, soul), r&b, electronic, dance genres because 1) she likes it, 2) it’s research and learning for her own band a lot of the time. has a sweet spot for rock/punk rock music that sometimes comes out in her own songs if she feels it suits the production, it became more prominent for a while after her break-up when she was so Angry and Hurt all the time.
4) how crafty/resourceful are they?
RIYA — naturally crafty and only getting better as the campaign goes on, she enjoys trying to talk her way out of things a little too much. resourcefulness doesn't come as easily, her first instinct is usually "what would [loved/trusted one] do with this shit??" and not her own gut reaction. she's spent so many years listening to her mother and brothers talk about what they've done with what they had at hand to turn a situation to their advantage so she turns to their history, but i imagine it'll take a shift over the course of the blight (arguably already has) when she starts gaining her own bank of experience.
MAEVE — had a pretty great baseline of craftiness from how she was raised to spin things for her parents' gain, and then kept leveling it up as she focused on charisma over other skills once adventuring. was probably passably resourceful but then all of the years traveling alongside witchers helped her to improve in that department.
APHRODITE — incredibly crafty, she's annoyingly good at pulling a get out of jail free card out of thin air and it drives some people nuts because she avoids consequences and having to learn from shit. i wanna say she's crafty but about silly things, like somebody leaving their make-up bag behind and her going well let's just use some of this fruit juice as some color for your cheeks, ridiculous things like that.
6) how do they wear their hair? do they care a lot how their hair looks?
RIYA — would leave it flowing down to her ass all day if she didn’t have to be constantly adventuring around and getting into fights where it’s disadvantageous, or simply annoying as fuck having to constantly blow it out of her face. so for the past year it’s spent a lot of time worn in multi-braids (usually 3 or 4) that she takes an ungodly amount of time styling so that they’ll last for a good few days, and when she’s feeling cute she’ll add little accessories to them that match her other jewelry. absolutely cares a lot about how her hair looks and has multiple times bitched about how the grey warden life is putting her hair’s life in jeopardy. desperately misses just getting to relax and have a lover brush out her hair for her with no "we have to get ready and GO" time limit, that's not truly relevant here but it's riya so she demanded i whine about it for her.
MAEVE — while adventuring she has it secured in a braid (or the top half pulled back with loose braids, the rest down) to keep it in check, outside of that she likes to keep it mostly down to show off the curls that she takes so much time caring for lmao. she’ll take the time to secure some parts to keep them from falling into her face (with some braids or with cute accessories), but usually her headbands or diadems do that well enough on their own. she cares quite a bit about her hair, both its health and its styling.
APHRODITE — waves down like 80% of the time, bestie’s all about vanity and knows she looks best with the hair on full display. she’ll pull it back into a half-up bun or ponytail while working on music and engaging in downtime activities, but actual effort hairstyles are reserved for special performances when she has A VisionTM and knows they’ll make it all the better.
12) how long have they been around? do you know their birthday? is their birthday the day you made them or another day? what do they think of celebrating birthdays?
RIYA — okay so i was able to track down february 2nd 2022, that’s the day i first sent the dm the snippet about a duchess giving the chantry her palace to become the college of magi because she had a mage daughter which became the base concept of riya (after i got encouraged into making Another noble because the idea sounded fun) + the day i first created her google doc for conceptualizing. her in-canon birthday is 18 cloudreach, 2:84 glory, and it was for sure picked to be aries and whatever the thedas equivalent is (unfortunately there are multiple sources for thedas astrology now and they’re all different and i can’t remember which i used lol). she loves birthdays because they usually mean parties or at least spending time with family, both things she loves deeply. the presents also help <3
MAEVE — the first maeve post was on january 9th 2020, she’s so old 😭her in-character birthday is february 20th 1237 and it was chosen to make her a pisces! also helps that it’s close to valentine’s day because yeah, of course that’s cute for her, plus it means modern maeve can get spoiled with on-brand gifts from her friends/loved ones because they know she’ll be obsessed with anything pink and/or heart themed. modern maeve would care more about celebrating her birthday and considers it an occasion to host friends/loved ones for some quality time, don’t think canon verse maeve would care that much about it. probably even had a few years of dreading them while dealing with her fear over desperately wanting to be remembered by her loved ones and for her work.
APHRODITE — she was first thought up on july 14th 2023! she doesn’t have a canon birthday yet because i’ve been a neglectful oc mother oops, but i live for sorting ocs into personality types and such so it’ll probably be chosen to match her leo zodiac. she’s a self-obsessed bitch so obviously she loves her birthday and celebrating it. give her all of the attention and affection and gifts and take her out for meals and parties yes yes ye
29) are they associated with any particular element (air, earth, fire, water)?
RIYA — probably fire?? for all that symbolism with passion, strong emotion, various sexual themes, flaring anger, being vivacious, etc etc. smth smth goof here about also being flashy and hot. there's also the whole "passing through fire to change" thing, which feels kinda like the biggest fucking understatement at this point given what she's gone through but whatever.
MAEVE — i've always had water in mind for her. something about the themes of healing, renewal, life and fertility, i never went in depth but it's all there's and apparent. there's also the images i have in my head of her + water that usually show off the loneliness she went through (sitting by herself reading next to the river of white orchard, staring out a window of the sommers estate across the waters that make her feel even more isolated and unable to escape, etc etc).
APHRODITE — idk probably air?? after some googling they're described with terms like "flighty, pulled to passing fancies and interests, lively, talkative, airheads unable or unwilling to concentrate on important matters" and yeah those check out lmao

Dart Adams presents The Top 50 Hip Hop Albums, EP’s & Mixtapes Of 2009 (The Final Top 200)
This is a list of what I consider to be the Top 200 Hip Hop LP’s, EP’s & mixtapes from this year so far. Please keep in mind that in order for me to even narrow this list to 200 I had to exclude all instrumental albums with the exception of Exile’s “Radio” (as it could’ve easily been Album Of The Year) otherwise it would’ve just been ridiculous and impossible to narrow to just 200 Hip Hop albums. This is the final time I do this, after three years I’m sure you all get the point I’m trying to make by now.
Also keep in mind that I’ve heard slightly less than 700 different projects this calendar year (my gmail account was bananas). I’m sure that my Bloggerhouse brethren Eric & Travis have quite a few projects in mind that I missed. That should give you all an idea as to just how deep 2009 was with quality material that you probably never even heard of.
In the comments section feel free to gripe, bitch and/or moan about Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Wale, Fabolous, Busta Rhymes or “insert wack rapper’s name here” lackluster ass album not being in my top 200. Also feel free to add albums, EP’s & mixtapes I missed (like Pill’s). I head mad albums that are still in my rotation that missed this cut (Moka Only made so many albums I stopped him at one so “Summer Notations”, “Carrots & Eggs” & Ron Contour’s”Hot Dog” aren’t on this list).
I’m sure listened to WAY more Hip Hop than you this year (and I probably suffered irreparable damage because of it). All you gotta do to check every Friday of 2009 (both the reviews & Late Passes (For Doz Dat Slept) sections) on this blog for proof. Enjoy (or don’t) my final Poisonous Paragraphs list:
