Oh yay, another Kirby thing.

I swear, something about Elfilis changes every time I draw them.

Also this would probably look a lot better if I put a tad more effort into it, but unfortunately if I work on this any longer I might just go insane.

#Fun fact! My other Fecto Elfilis piece was actually created as I was working on this one! That's how long I've been putting it off.#Also I don't know how I feel about the amount of blood I added.#Is it too much? Is it not enough? This will probably haunt me until I forget that I ever made this.#My only saving grace for my shitty colors and lighting was slapping a ton of layers and filters over it. Which is why it's so saturated.#Also don't mind the lazy background in the top panels I was not going to do that traditionally or digitally. the crazy thing is that malevolent really seems like it's gonna be one of those "there's nothing actually special about this guy, he just has very bad luck." stories but no. there IS something special about that guy. there's a REASON this is happening to him. this story could NOT have happened to anyone else the way it did to him. somehow, for some reason, arthur lester is special. and even more absurdly, this specific version of arthur lester is special. that's insane.

so much of the horror genre is all about how these things could happen to anyone, but malevolent wants you to explicitly know that arthur lester is important. arthur lester is the reason this story is happening. arthur lester is different, in some strange way that even he doesn't fully understand.

and that's what makes him the main character, not just the protagonist.

One thing that I've never seen people talk about is that Shen Jiu would want his body back. Sure, it may be irreparablely damaged and weak, but it's still his body. He never had any bodily autonomy until he joined Cang Qiong at seventeen, so he would fight tooth and nail to get it back rather than lose the right to his body again.
