Rafe’s laughter grew as he scrolled, his tiredness from the day fading into pure amusement. He glanced down at her, her eyes glued to the TV as she munched on popcorn, oblivious to his discovery.

Adding to this rant post, but with minor Teeth of God spoilers.

The fact that Tier 4 came with typed out Director's Notes irks me. Firstly, it was framed like the notes were extra content and not included in the Graphic Novel. Pretty much everyone I know who bought Tier 4 purchased that option because we thought it was exclusive. Instead, those who purchased Tier 4 paid $80.00 US more than Tier 3 for a coin, a temporary tattoo, and a manila folder with printer paper.

Secondly, I just know so many people are having trouble reading that handwriting, because I write in a similar lazy, "half-cursive," scrawling style. I feel like it's a neat concept but poorly executed in the sense that only Tier 4 got a clear transcription of the Director's Notes, while others are struggling and some have to make transcriptions.

Thirdly, I have an opposite problem with the Tier 4 notes because the paper is literally budget printer paper (from what I've seen) and the last Director's note doesn't include the scattered TMBTE alphabet in it. Not only is it something you can literally print out yourself with 30 minutes of transcribing, but you also lose half of the effect of the transformation the Director is going through.

Anyway, I just wanted to rant about that as well but didn't want to drop any spoilers in the first post. I also wanted to ask if anyone else thinks they might actually have been written by Vessel 👀

Sydney 2025, June 8-10

We spent a few days in Sydney in June 2025.

Departed Tullamarine almost an hour late.

Navigated Sydney Airport as usual with speed and ease.

Used socials to find a Pub that served Sunday roast, pretty good.

Wandered down to the rocks in search of “dessert”. Came up empty but sat at the prime position of the James Squire Pub.

Spent the afternoon crowd watching there overlooking the Opera house.

We left before it got too busy as Vivid was on.

Made our way by ferry across the bay to Kirribilli, spent $80.00 bucks on fish & chips!

Ferried it back and froze our nuts off. Nik was madly trying to photograph Vivid from the front of the ferry. I just sat there and tried to keep warm, it was freezing!

Back at the room kicked back and watched television.

Room service for breakfast day 2.

Then off to meet Kent and visit Cockatoo Island for the day. Good times, lots of pictures.

After Cockatoo island we hit the Metro. Rode the new Metro train, Sydenham to Gadigal; up front too! Then back to the room to freshen up for dinner.

Dinner was at Mr Wongs. Not quite as exceptional as the first night in January earlier this year, they seemed to be dragging their heels with the food. Even did a doggy bag. Still we had a blast.

Back to the room then crashed out for the night.

Breakfast the next morning was an adventure, we ended up at a place called the Grounds, fabulous atmosphere, I had pancakes with fruit and mascarpone, Nik had egg and mushroom toasty.

We bought take away cake too.

Next stop, the White Bay Power station, for the Biennial, or so we thought! It took a while to find the bus stop at the start though.

We were early by 12 months! A very nice security guard let us in and informed us of our mistake.

Wandered around the area and discovered some gems and great views of Sydney, both the skyline and the harbour bridge.

Hopped on a bus back into town. Now we were determined to get the AGNSW. We stayed a the spot where we got off the bus and caught the same bus. Turns out it was the wrong one, so back to White Bay power station, only this time we hopped off and crossed the street back into town. All the while we had our doggy bag and cake in tow. The driver was pretty useless in terms of information about our destination too on that second trip.

We eventually decided to wander across to the gallery on foot from the bus stop where we alighted. But we were a little disorientated and it took us while to sort ourselves out.  As it was getting on we just sat and chilled in Hyde park. Ate our food and wandered and photographed. I decided to  look for the Captain Cook statue then headed back to the hotel to collect our bags. 

Sydney’s airport check-in/security is so bad, you have to remove your laptops and tables for the x-ray machines. Made it to the lounge had a quick drink, just, then off to the gate for an on time take off. Yet it took over an hour and a half to get to Tullamarine, go figure.
