MY OPINION ON;

Character in general: Every time I think about Pico I always remember this one Playable Parappa mod where he gets a Pico Mix and, Idk, especially the final bit of the song? Where he starts going on a bit of tangent about how he's rapping with a literal talking dog and seems to be having a great time? That's it, that's how I have always viewed him. Pico as a character has always been interesting to me because, while there is a bottom line as to how he should be portrayed, everyone has their own twist when including him in animations and games. He really is the embodiment of "Everything By Everyone", a canvas for everyone to add their colors on. Though, if we talk from an FNF perspective, I am definitely a Babysitter!Pico Truther and a MASSIVE sucker for the Jerk with a Heart of Gold trope, which fits him like a glove. Also I was there for when the whole Pico/Lila ship was popular so... yeah. He can be a merc while also being a pretty normal guy that can babysit two rambunctious kids on the side, y'know?

How they play them: I LOVE UNCLE PICO!! But not just that, let me start from the top: I think Ben's Pico is complex. A character with Pico's grisly background opens the door to a lot of psychological and inner exploration, which is one of the things Ben excels at. He has a very solid grasp of Pico's flaws, his psychological profile, all the small things that make him... difficult, if you catch my drift. But not just that, because some of my favorite things Ben has written involve Pico's daily life, when things are "most normal". Of course, this is my bias talking, because those bits usually involve Pico interacting with Pump. Because, well, I think those are the moments where Pico feels the most... organic? Real? Idk what word to use here, but little things like NOT cussing around kids and wanting to be an okay influence around them is always very endearing to me?? I'm sure he has demons to fight every waking moment, but I love those moments of solace he gets, and Ben just does such a GREAT JOB showing them... Love Uncle Pico.

The Mun: BEN, I GAVE YOU MY DISCORD AND NEVER DM'D YOU, I'M SO SORRY!! 😭😭 That aside, though?? I'm happy Ben has been a constant presence in my Dash ever since I made this blog. He was one of my first RP partners, one of the first people I pre-established relationship with, we go FAR BACK, just check the tag!! Ben is also one of the reasons I have kept my blog's FNF Verse around, considering back in the day (and, technically, now still) there weren't many FNF muses. He's a diamond in the dirt, very invested in the muses he writes, and ESPECIALLY the psychology behind each and every one of them. I think he knows what he's talking about, and all of his metas and character explorations are very interesting to me?? Which is why I recommend reading his OOC tag, because it adds an extra layer to Pico's blog.

RP with them: YEYEYEYEYE, even if I'm slow as molasses!! Ben is always insanely active and I WISH I could match a fraction of that reply speed, wow.

Want to RP with them: ALWAYS!! I'm always down for more shenanigans between him and my son!! Especially now that he met Pico's dad?? Bubby, you have one hell of a storm coming lol.

Overall Opinion: CHECK BEN'S PICO AND HIS OTHER BLOGS OUT!! Like I simply can NOT recommend of my first mutuals ever, you know?? Always very active on my Dash, always writing and exploring all sorts of concepts with his muses, and Pico in particular?? You don't need to know anything about FNF, Newgrounds or Pico's School to get to know him, really! Also Ben is super sweet, he should be getting more interactions in spite of his more niche muse picks! Also Tumblr should stop shadowbanning him, omg, my man deserves better luck!! Please check one of my OGs out, I SWEAR you won't regret it!

ㅤPico's erratic breathing had carried easily through the walls. John had been there as quickly as his half-asleep brain could process it. Waking the boy earned him hard, but instinctive strikes to his hands, which he pulled back without argument, waiting quietly for Pico to pull himself together.

ㅤMoving slowly, John sat down on the edge of the bed. His large frame still dwarfed Pico's, even all these years and built up muscles later.

ㅤPathetic. Hah.

ㅤ“ Yeah, I've heard that one before. ”

ㅤUtterly dismissive. Not directly quashing the notion, not confronting this absolute wreck of a man, but not bothering to disguise his opinion.

ㅤJohn wrapped a careful arm around Pico's shoulders, drawing the boy closer, feeling the feverish heat and faint tremors against his side.

ㅤComfort had never been John's strong suit. Even after Pico stumbled into his life, and he stumbled harder into adopting the kid, it took him a long time to learn the power of even a simple hug. But they had shared too many nights like this for John to have not learned anything. He couldn't get rid of the memories, couldn't absorb his son's turmoil, no matter how hard he tried to squeeze it out — but, he could stay. Until it faded again, or until he was asked to leave.

ㅤHe wasn't asked, sometimes. Especially not during those first few months.

He didn't respond to the gun being pointed at him, or even the words thrown his way. Whether it was because he didn't hear or not was unknown, his gaze continuing to remain unfocused as he simply sat there. Occasionally bringing his hand up to inhale the nicotine and smoke from the lit cigarette, like it was an automatic thing for him.

His appearance to a certain blue haired rapper was eerie enough but his disheveled state only seemed to add onto it. Torn clothes, untied shoes, a worn cap, the outline of a mic in their pocket. So similar and yet so different, telling a silent story that the one in front of Pico had been through a lot to get to this kind of state.

It was the worst day she ever had. She got scolded a few times, by customers and her boss. The workload is unbearable. Debbie cursed under her breath. She returned home only to find out that her fridge was running out of food, meaning that she has to go out again. Her motorbike had ran out of fuel... Guess she'll have to walk then.

The moon hung high in the sky. Neon signs flickered to life, casting a glow onto the sidewalk below. She grumbled as she left the store with a huge bag of groceries. Her mind pondered to elsewhere until she was startled by someone shoving her out of their way. She almost fell over, almost pilling her groceries out.

" HEY ASSHOLE! " she yelled at the direction where the person had gone.

A group of men flew past her, seemingly in hot pursuit of someone, who was, surprisingly, a familiar figure. Ginger hair. Her anger quickly subsided. What was they after him for?

RELATIONSHIP HEADCANONS (2/?). || @getblammed

In spite of Pico doing his very best to prevent it, always being very mindful of the things he could say out loud, Pump has picked up one single swear word from him. Which one? Only Pico knows because he is the only one that has heard it. Turns out that mumbling curse words under his breath was not a good strategy. Related to this subject, if Pico were to instinctively swear out loud, Pump will call him out on it. He just can't say that!! This has happened at least once.

Pico has plans for the next Halloween night, because Pump made him promise he would go trick-or-treating with him and Skid. They are also going to personally pick Pico's costume because Spooky Month is VERY serious business and they know best. It's likely going to be that zombie costume from Spooky Mix, let's be real here.

Pico tries to appear as normal around Pump as possible. His job, nor his friends/partners in crime, have ever come up in conversation and he would rather keep it that way. Pico finds solace into this temporary sense of normalcy where he just can hang around these kids and keep an eye on them in case they get up to some mischief. Also he knows for a fact Darnell would teach Pump how to ignite spray cans and he does NOT want to be partially responsible of something eventually exploding in their faces.

While he will not admit it, because he is a bit of a hypocrite, Pico has helped the kids sneak into a horror movie at the theatre before. In his defense, they really, REALLY wanted to go see it and he was not going to be caught dead at a kids movie screening. He does it a little bit disturbing how seemingly desensitized Skid and Pump are at excessive amounts of on-screen violence, at least.

BONUS HEADCANON: Pump ran to Pico's house once solely to tell him that he had successfully punched Roy. Why? Well, he wanted to prove it of course! How did he prove it? Don't ask.

ㅤIt was a morbid routine to have fallen into. But, it began a long time ago, when Pico was much younger, scrawnier, less accustomed to pain. The days when the boy would collapse through the front door or an unlocked window, drenched in blood and shaking like a leaf. Back when he would let himself be lifted into John's arms and fussed over, too tired to pretend he hated the coddling. Back when he would whimper at things that merely made him hiss through his teeth now.

ㅤNow... Well, it wasn't that much different. Pico had more experience, and a much higher pain threshold, more capable of looking out for himself. Even when John was visiting, he would more often sneak inside and tend his wounds alone than even let his father know he was home. But his worst days would leave him no better than the tiny, inexperienced kid he was when he started all this.

ㅤLuckily, today wasn't one of those days. Today wasn't a day where John had to worry so much. Instead, he heard Pico's usual protests, and merely raised an eyebrow at him.

ㅤ“ Well, if you stop getting your ass kicked, we won't need to have this argument again, hm ? ”

ㅤBut a smirk played at his lips as he said it. Far from the first time he'd joked while stitching Pico back up. Taking the edge off, acting like his boy getting badly injured so often wasn't as horrifying as it should be. ( Plus, the kid was cute when he got grumpy at his teasing. )

ㅤHe finished his meticulous stitching, covered the wounds with patches and gauze. An unusually gentle pat to Pico's shoulder to signal that he was done, then he stood, turning to the medical supplies.

ㅤ“ So, what's the story this time ? ” he asked as he cleaned up, tucking what was still usable back into the pack, tossing what wasn't into the trash bin. “ The other guy better look worse than you do right now. ”

❝ Ghosts? ❞ His eyes, slowly, trailed off. ❝ ...I don't know what are you talking about. ❞ Judging by his face, that was exactly what he was planning to do. (How?! How did he know?!) Pico is NOT a dad, he should not have been able to read Pump's mind like that! He had made his intentions too obvious.

That meant the graveyard was no-go, and so was the abandoned house at the top of the hill, and the wood around town. For shame! He would have loved to show the other some of their favorite spooky hanging-out spots. This was for the best, actually. One day, they were going to convince him to join them in one of their spooky adventures!

Thankfully, it was not like the seven-year-old minded going to... normal places once in a while. And, look at that! The ginger had ideas!

❝ Oh, I like the arcade! ❞ Good ideas, even! They could only visit the mall, the candy store and the cinema so often. ❝ I always help Skid climb into the claw machine when we go there. ❞ And, somehow, they had not been caught and banned yet.

Attempting to come off more nonchalant than he actually was, Pico’s near protective hold on Pump’s gloved hand contradicted that lax attitude in a way he hoped the little guy didn’t pick up on. ( Not to mention, the short range would hopefully keep the apparently chaotic antics of the skeleton and pumpkin duo within sight, even if only one of said two was present. ) Walking down the street and away from what the redhead could only assume to be the kid’s house, Pico glanced down to Pump as they walked, tilting his head slightly.

“ Could hit the arcade, get some snacks— Whatcha thinkin’ in that big ol head? ”

Geez louise. He knew what kind of 'job' Pico had on the side (as it's what he's known for), but he didn't expect it to look this concerning in person. Not from someone he considered a friend, at least. The fact that the young merc didn't sound like he's at the brink of death confirms that at least the 'jam' wasn't his.

Can't really deny the scrapes and bruises, though. Or that iron smell, either.

"...Come on. Let's find somewhere to get that 'jam' off of ya before someone else notices."

...4th wall-break aside, he's absolutely joking; he knows what's it actually made of. But he's only serving the same sense of humor, he thinks.

“ Yeah but, like, imagine how many loaves a’ banana bread they could get outta a you-sized banana, man. N’ then compare that to a regular ol’ banana. I’unno, just sayin’ I get where they’re comin’ from. ”

He’s joking, of course, can’t hurt to mess around with his fellow icon ( and practically family member at this point ) a little.

“ Please, like I’d give you the time of day. Your name isn’t even worth thinking of. ” Their usual bickering slowly began and escalated. This song and dance happened more and more often as they spent more time together, coincidental and sometimes purposeful.

It felt like a hookup, if hookups were replaced with fights meant to burn off steam, thats how he saw it anyways, and as a source of amusement.

“ I could say the same to you, Pico, your face follows wherever I go, any idea why? I have my theories but I’m afraid your slow working mind wont comprehend them. ” The psychic got closer, not too close but he stood in front of the man. His arms crossed as he leered down at the merc. A little ball of fire and aggression with a set of ginger curls to match. Alucard’s eyebrow was scarred, the past incident at the bar left its mark but he remained unshaken, his prodding will never end.

What kind of monster wouldn’t miss their childhood pet, their little partner in crime? Not him, that’s for sure. For all his flaws and issues he’d ( reluctantly ) admit to, he definitely wasn’t that awful.
