gesinski ink, studio pen, hartz, tessellated, galaxias, and rosette are all standard procreate brushes

greasy pastel, trashiest oil, and personal bonobo chalk come from Dawner's brush pack

sorry if this sounds like a silly question, im not the best at wrapping my head around things like this, but is the problem with the tcg more that the designs are being used /commercially/ without credit, not just that inspiration was taken? im a little confused since the latter is really common in blaseball fan spaces. either way the whole thing with the tcg sucks and im sorry you have to go through all this

Not a silly question at all! Clarification is important. But to answer your question: unfortunately, it's very much the former. Blaseball: Wild Cards is a for-profit game. Some designs are completely unique to the game (EX: Sexton Wheeler as a cowboy) but many many other designs are not and are being used commercially + without credit.

At least three of my designs have appeared in Blaseball: Wild Cards without my consent, and I have received no public credit or compensation. And worse yet, there are still plenty of card expansion packs that Wayfinder hasn't revealed. EDIT: I should also clarify that although I think that you should credit other people’s designs if you use them, I don’t think it’s a reprehensible action if you’re just drawing for fun or non-profit purposes. It’s happened to me countless times and I’m pretty used to it by now.

Literally all I had absorbed about Blaseballl before today was your crazy weird and incredible artwork. It has intrigued me cuz I love the designs, but I'm horrendous about getting into new media. ANYWAY Your stuff is impressive enough that it has successfully made me dream about it, good job. :') (The dream was basically all these monster people competing in a ball game and also depending on how good they played they got to pick... romantic partners like the bachelor or some shit.)

also im gonna be entirely honest this isnt entirely inaccurate to how blaseball actually is? i could explain it to you but i feel like that would only make the situation worse. this is all to say you know more about blaseball than you think and also i cannot recommend this game to anyone because its consumed my life for the past two years.

10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw AUGH. overalls definitely. baggy sweaters or cardigans are up there, i love how the fabric folds on the arms and they often have a real nice texture to them. honestly the more folds the better

i would say i enjoy croptop hoodies but i always feel like im cropping them too high or too low 😭 how much tits is too much!!

What piece of yours do you think is underrated lordie, probably my s24 zine piece or my dunn gif tbh the dunn gif was originally just a drawing and i was like oh yeah i can animate this. and then i spent three extra days animating it even though i was supposed to be enjoying the beach OTL her hair gave me so much grief like girl theres so many colors to account for

4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw oh lord its reese clark. bian lian costumes have so many layers and tiny details. it's decorated in dragons. i draw them because i love them though

also side angles or the back of someone's head stump me, for whatever reason. the body just looks weird. 13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing oh this is a fun one. hmm. i think recently it would be laurie lipton? im not huge into how she depicts her subject matter (a lot of it is very unsubtle) BUT her use of pencils on such a large canvas is really really inspiring. highly recommend watching some of her interviews on youtube

my dearest darlingest mutual gob, what The Fuck is the video game blaseball about bc it quite obviously isnt about the sport baseball and from what all i know about it (legit just looking at your kickass art) blaseball straying farther and farther from baseball

and you would be correct! (also thank you very much btw haha <3) in a sentence, blaseball is an absurdist baseball simulator that's run on your web browser. fake teams and fake players go up against other fake teams and players and we, the audience, bet on who wins, who loses, etc. you use your earnings to vote on what you want to happen next season. the narrative is controlled as much by the simulation and the developers as it is by the fans. fun stuff! (side note because people have asked this before: no blaseball doesn't use real money nor is it anything related to cry/pto. completely free to play!) of course there's a lot of really abnormal elements-- like the umpires sometimes setting players ablaze when there's a solar eclipse. or finding loopholes in the simulation to necromance a fan favorite. or a player becoming so popular that they're encased in a human-sized peanut shell indefinitely. silly (and terrifying) things like that. my friend waveridden wrote a pretty comprehensive breakdown of blaseball which you can read here (i have this linked on my blog under ‘links and shit’ as well)

people make games also made a video giving an overview of blaseball which i also recommend as an artist, i really like blaseball because the sim gives you such little visual content/description, you can really go wild with what players look like or how events take place etc etc. also i’m terrible at statistics and barely know much about real baseball, so i tend to stick to making horror art or writing about sad men with trauma. blaseball has been on hiatus since july of 2021, but it’s planning on coming back in the summer. usually i would redirect you to the official blaseball discord if you wanted to check it out, but it’s currently under maintenance until may 4th. there’s other team-specific servers to join, but i’m kind of getting into the weeds here.  sooo yeah! hopefully this was at least a little helpful. you (or anyone else for that matter) are welcome to dm or ask me more questions about it if you want! it’s a big fixation of mine, and i have a lot of feelings about it
