Okay Re: The Jack Slash Perma party unlocked. I think its just after the switched sides slaughterhouse 9000 boss rush. You have access to Grey Boy, but only with Jack also in the party. Grey Boy breaks So Many Things. He’s fun, but he was clearly planned as a boss first, same thing Jack, although he’s far worse for it..

This is a bit of a side tangent but like. Jack as a party member works a lot better than GB. Like he’s balanced weirdly well? His super high evasion with broadcast, and the hidden scripting that means his HP never drops below 1%, seems hypothetically busted, but his damage output isn’t absurd, and he’s more an incredibly survivable support/utility build. It’s cute! The demoralise status he can inflict, alongside the aggro draw make him a fun party member! Like we get to see a little bit in the main route too, in the Number Man sidequest flashback vs King, before the slaughterhouse route got added. Dude was always fun.

Meanwhile grey boy is… kinda simple. If you don’t miss, and get high enough TP, you Loop the enemy. There’s a reason they only give you him for a really short period, and he’s practically a party member designed for Ambiance. You’ve already won, he’s just kicking people into the dirt for you.

Anyway. Basically, using the loop out of battle on certain capes can make things janky. If you position your character so it’s partially clipped into the wall in that one area, after you defeat Checalier, and greyboy loop him and you, it glitches, when his gear separates. You get shunted through the wall, and outside the map. You need to walk a really specific distance, and do some menu glitching, but you can basically warp to any state of the story. You need to keep Jack in you party, otherwise he gets wiped along all your progress when warp back, but once you have your golden ticket

Anyway its really funny. Especially if you reset back to the exact beginning of the game. All your stats get completely reset, so you’re just dragging around this weirdo serial killer. There’s bits of hidden dialogue the devs snuck in after the glitch was found, rather than patching it completely. The most notable are the tutorial fight vs Lung and Vs Slaughterhouse Nine, which both just. Crack me up so much. There’s also some really cute dialogue between him and Number Man during the Cauldron section of GM. Always nice to see devs adding in little touches, even for glitch routes.

There’s an entire speedrunning category, with both the set up, and then running through the game with slash too. It’s long as hell, but p fun.
