honestly I think severance more importantly than just the idea of work/life separation is kindof the perfect lens into the mind of the average tumblr user. which explains why so many of us have latched onto it with teeth

#like what. we all act wildly different on the internet than we would in real life I'll bet!#it's a remnant of an idea of a compartmentalized world and the exposure of that world and the separation of that world. and like yeah it #does happen with office settings too and that's really where the pheomenon started #but still concerns of the internet have the same trappings of like 'are the things that go on here really meaningful even if it's under the #guise of certain locality constraints? that demand certain behaviors of you in order to maintain equilibrium?' and that I think is worth #examining just as much as the corporate-ness of it all. because even worse out here it's so self-policing.#idk. just makes me have a little think is all
