I'm running on fumes right now, so if you spot any mistakes, no you didn’t. I whipped up a reference for my take on Dust.

I mentioned this in another post, but the nickname 'Cap' comes from Dust’s chronic drinking habit. So, 'Cap' as in bottle cap, because he’s always glued to a bottle.

ran into this post again decided to leave a tip -u-

im also a beginner artist so dont take it straight to the heart,,

Sans is a skeleton, so the skull will be the base in any stylization of Sans. I recommend you looking up anatomy on skeletons.

and try understanding muscle too. since Sans do have muscle for facial expressions. this can help understand how you should draw it to be anatomically correct. <- not a must but will help your Sanses look natural and consistent.

Personally, I draw it anime style, most Korean, Chinese, and Japanese draw it this way. I recommend studying Atemune(twitter, youtube), NUL눌(twitter, youtube), d-han(tumblr, i linked it on the name) and temmry(tumblr, twitter, youtube, i linked the tumblr blog)'s style of art, as they represent anime style the most!

Anime style is usually sharp, "sexy", and tends to be based on a format, hence why they usually seem similar.

There are more cartoonish style, more round, cute, and "canon" to Sans's pixilated origins.

I recommend chimo-ver2(sansbelazy on youtube, tumblr linked). there are a few more but i look at anime style more so :p dont know the names of artists. maybe calvateyla(twitter, tumblr linked) will be in this section.

there are more stylized versions and different genres that can be applied when drawing sanses :p

but just stare at the art of professionals, try to see how they made each line, how they drew the skulls and body and clothes, and try to copy it yourself! put up a lot of reference on pose and clothings if you are drawing!

also, i recommend doing many doodles everyday then just one big project at a time! this is because small artworks takes around 1 to 2 hours, and lets you go through the entire process of sketch, line, color and shading!

it can be a simple pose, no meaning or story. doing this often helps you draw and color faster, get a more consistent and unique art style, and experience as art grows with time!

trust me, i drew comics every day for 5 months and went from

this. (story sucks cause i never write, haha)

ofc you dont need to draw comics specifically like i did, i was an extreme case, even. most artists just do semi colored doodles like this.

You will suck at coloring, shading, and lines at first! I did too and i still am struggling! practice is key!

also, look up tutorials from genuinely good artists. they give tips that change your life.
