new favorite thing about angelverse is that the franklin expedition is canon, but instead of dying of exposure and lead poisoning and scurvy or being eaten by a demonic bear spirit a la the terror 2018, those men succumbed to contamination from the angelic artefacts and metals they used to reinforce their ships (since contamination is a relatively modern concept in av so regulations around handling angelic matter were far less thorough at the time), and then most of them were eaten by either an insidiously seductive locational (regional demon which manifests as a physical location) which takes the form of any oceanic or ocean-like (ie: salty) body of water and has ensnared countless souls in its watery domain, or an insane apocalypse-grade war machine angel which was decommissioned and consigned to the ice millennia ago after it grew too dangerous and unstable to utilize as a weapon. and also the scurvy.

I'll forever be obsessed by the idea of angelic characters on Earth finally having an opportunity to discover who they are as individuals after spending their entire existence up to a given point solely defined by their role. Angels can represent so many things, ofc, but the idea of a queer (especially trans) allegory will always stick in my brain.
