it also caught me so off guard in episode 1 in particular that the crew clearly knew how much izzy was doing to protect them from ed?? no one's saying it out loud because it won't help but the hug, and the whole scene surrounding it, says they've all quietly been paying attention and worrying about him behind his back and it was a culmination of weeks and months of living like they were while knowing that izzy was bending over backwards to absorb as much of ed's rage and heartbreak and anger as possible in order to shield the rest of them??? help??

Their actual first meeting in the Kyoshi Warriors AU!

Katara had her Oh moment before exchanging a word with Jian Li, and while she gets over it in time (or, at least, convinces herself that she's not embarrassed by her initial reaction to him) this quasi-interaction haunts her for the first couple of days of their stay in Kyoshi Island.

It's just not fair that the place is full of gorgeous people! Or that he's not only beautiful, but also kind and awkward and respectful and dorky and—oh, La—she's in trouble.

Jamimayu Genie AU

(I’ll likely come back to this idea and make doodles in the future but writing it down now so I remember…)

AU where Jamil’s the genie in a lamp that Mayu discovers, but she’s frustratingly unable to decide on any wishes on the spot so she simply asks him to keep her company until she can decide. (He’s 🙄 about this because he just wants to get it over with so he can return to the comforting solitude of his lamp, but he doesn’t let it show)

She ends up taking him on many random trips to different places together and he goes from being super annoyed that she’s wasting his time ➡️ “Ok this isn’t bad.” He got the chance to see so many sights that he couldn’t have on his own, being trapped in a lamp that was collecting dust inside some forgotten vault. The original plan was to manipulate her into wasting her wishes but… maybe that can wait.

Until the day comes where Mayu finally settles on something for her first wish, and he feels his heart drop because if there’s one, then there’ll be a second and a third, and then what? Is he never going to see her again after the inevitable? (She wonders why he doesn’t seem that happy about her finally making a wish.)

Aaand the (cliche) twist is that she still doesn’t really want anything, but she enjoyed her time with him so much that she wants to repay him with the chance to be free and travel on his own. It's not fair that he's stuck going only wherever she chooses to! She’s sneakily spending her wishes on him to set up her third and final wish for his freedom, so it goes something like:

Mayu: For my first wish I’d like a large sum of money, enough for an individual to live comfortably for several decades ☝️ Jamil: …Uncharacteristically materialistic of you, but I suppose it can be done.  Mayu: Okay! And for my second wish I need some very talented and shady connections that can produce me any documentation I need with 100% legitimacy that no official will ever suspect 🙂 and maybe also be capable of altering government records (This is the part where she makes friends with Azul/Octavinelle) Jamil:  Jamil: What the actual hell are you planning.

When she finally makes that third wish for his freedom, she just hands over the bank details and his definitely-not-fake ID and documents (all under his new name that he chose during a random “hypothetical” conversation they had at one point about what he’d like his name to be if he could have one) and tells him the truth, and that he should be all set up and ready to go for a while! And he’s so baffled, but once he gets over the initial shock he sighs and awkwardly tells her that he’d… still like to stay by her side 😌

Despite all his talks about not caring about not being chosen by the Keyblade, Sora seems to tie a lot of his worth into being a Keyblade wielder. 

The time when he lost the Keyblade in Hollow Bastion was devastating for Sora. Not only his best friend had turned against him, but Donald and Goofy briefly abandoned him.

Although he seems to get over it pretty quickly, there were hints implying that moment hurt him more deeply than he let on. In KH3, he says that when he lost the Keyblade, Donald and Goofy had to go on without him, which I don't think is true? What was stopping them from following Riku with Sora instead of leaving him there alone?

I think that moment might have affected Sora a lot, leading him to think that not only he is useless without the Keyblade, but his friends are going to leave him if he can’t use the Keyblade.

This comes up again in KH2, when Sora is completely lost when he learns that defeating Heartless with the Keyblade is exactly what the Organization wants. He says that he doesn’t know what he’s supposed to do if he can’t use the Keyblade and once again he feels useless, albeit he’s able to overcome this fairly quickly.

Then he has to face the Mark of Mastery, and it’s the first time he’s on an adventure on his own. Although he doesn’t seem to care much about becoming a Keyblade Master, he’s confident that he’ll pass the exam as he sees it as a formality. Except, the Organization hijacked themselves into the exam, tricked him and he ended up having to be rescued and failing the Mark of Mastery, losing most of his power in the process.

He tries to brush it off, focusing on his excitement for Riku, but when Yen Sid talks to him after the exam, it’s obvious that Sora is devastated. That experience left him feeling very insecure in his strength, and the constant remarks from villains and allies alike only amplified this insecurity. 

What happened during the Mark of Mastery deeply affected him and he never truly recovered from it (at least not yet). He has lost all his confidence in himself.

The Keyblade didn't choose him, he failed the Mark of Mastery, he's not as reliable as the other wielders, so, to make up for it, he ties his worth uniquely in his connection with other people. His friends are his power, therefore if his friends are gone, he’s worthless. He doesn’t believe he’s able to make it on his own. Not anymore.

au where emilie doesn't "go missing." gabriel fully believes in his plan to bring her back with the black cat and ladybug miraculous, so he doesn't want to fill out a police report and label her as missing as it would both put more attention on him as well as make it more difficult to explain her disappearance when he brought her back.

instead, he stages a tour for her. she's taking a break from her acting career to focus on the gabriel brand, traveling the world to learn about different cultures and their clothing for a new line they'll be releasing.

the press is excited, conspiring and making predictions about which countries will be included. many people wonder why emilie decided to make such a stark career change so suddenly, but no one really questions it as suspicious.

adrien, who has seen his mother less and less over the past few months. adrien, who has been nervous to speak to his father ever since his irritation has spiked. adrien, who can't remember the last time he had a meal with both of his parents. adrien, whose only friend is chloe.

he begins to think. all the times his mother left for months to film a new movie, his father burying himself in his work for days on end, adrien being left in the care of his parent's assistants while they filled their schedules as much as possible — keeping busy and far away from one another.

he wonders if he's just be oblivious this entire time, if his family has been drifting apart and he's been forced into photo shoots and advertisements as a way to keep him distracted from it all. he notices the way his father looks longingly each time they pass a portrait of his mother, as though he's lost something, and the way natalie's eyes soften when she notices as well.

he stops asking his father why he didn't tell him about the new line. he stops asking his father why he can't call his mother, why she won't call him either. when he comes across his father sitting at his desk, holding his wedding ring is hand and looking at a framed photo of their family, he stops asking questions all together.

adrien doesn't know much, but he has a strong feeling his mother isn't coming back.

it feels a certain way bc it's true that he shouldn't feel the need to seek everyone's approval but it's not really bc he has confidence in himself. hoeru thinks of himself as lowly and not needing approval bc he's low. he was so happy when he received approval and praise but as soon as he's hit with the fact that others still think low of him he goes back to how he always is. things are just as he thought they were, and so there's no need to seek out approval.
