feel free to delete if u dont wanna be dragged back into it but wis is still going and bitching about yall. she sounds so insecure
"The concept of adopting demonic imagery and then making music shitting on one of the most marginalized people in United States of america AND ON TOP OF THAT censoring the cuss words is the most American brained thing I have ever seen in my life 😭
#diss track on my transgender ex friend#its so fucking funny#censoring am*rican cuss words"
like is she just making stuff up atp omlll
At this point, neither of us really care lmao.
Wis is just gonna ramble forever and never shut up as she's made it clear so lol, it's just free promotion at this point.
It's not a surprise that she's making shit up. She claimed I was constantly abusing and stepping over the boundaries of some 19 year old with no evidence like? Lmao on top of that I literally have no idea who tf shes referring to. Genuinely. She also claimed I was a terf. Lmao.
We just have more shit to focus on lately. I'm doing paid animation work for Yam's so called "ruined career" as she's been preparing for a live show that had tickets sell out incredibly fast. I'm finishing my career degree for sterile processing technician. She's working on another pretty big deal thing that I'm not gonna spoil.
We're just chilling, dude, lmao
We just have more, ultimately better stuff to focus on than her doing the same shit over and over and over, lmao. We don't care about her grasping at straws and trying to spew out random shit to a brickwall. Keep bringing people to our work with your ramblings, Wis. Work on your own art. Why don't you work on your relationship with transmascs and transmen, since we apparently killed your grandma with how much you clearly hate them/us.
So Wis doesn't blow that grandma comment out of proportion like she so always does, that was a trolls movie reference. Nothing else.

Cybernetic Angel
cw: violence, brainwashing, torture, dehumanization, Purpose and angel stuff
hope y'all enjoy
Running a quick systems check revealed more or less what I had anticipated, they had disabled, locked, or removed any weaponry I had when they caught me.
My wing ports were…
Empty?
My wings were missing.
They took my fucking wings.
I'll fucking kill them. I-
Calm. Deep breaths. Losing it won't help here.
Testing my bonds not only resulted in barely any movement but it also produced a quick shock, scattering my processes and forcing a quick reboot. Clearly they were well prepared for me. Unfortunately for them my system immediately enabled its countermeasures for electricity, meaning they would need to work much harder to force that to happen again.
One door, one way in and one way out. Bulletproof glass wall with, of fucking course, researchers behind it taking notes on my every movement. No windows, no personal affects on the staff, sterile lighting, no way to tell where they had brought me. Fucking great.
Calculating outlook… Not favorable. Thankfully the calculation hadn't said impossible, and I had worked with worse.
The door opened and four armed guards escorted what looked to be a technician doll carrying a reinforced box- no that was a specialized deployment kit. A quick scan revealed what it held.
A cybernetic halo of all things.
A sudden surge of panic coursed through my system I tugged at my restraints again, resulting in a stronger shock and one of the guards laughing at me. Does he think this is fucking funny? He's less than two meters away from one of the deadliest killing machines in this Realm and he's laughing?
Deep breaths, I told myself. I can get through this. I tore off my halo before, this one won't be any different. Assuming they even get the chance to sync it to me.
Time stretched on as the doll worked away at its device, stopping once to glance mournfully at me. That only prompted a jab with a taser from one of the guards, not meant to harm merely to coerce it back into compliance. Not that the guards seemed to care about the difference.
So I waited, biding my time until an opportunity to escape presented itself. Knowing they would likely resort to methods other than shocks to incapacitate me I didn't try my binds again. Letting my body fall unnaturally still I stared through one of the guards, making him shift uncomfortably. I would take and create any advantage I could.
Soon enough the doll held the halo in its hands. Keeping it at a distance from that one's chassis, as though it were afraid. None of the people seemed to notice, either they didn't know how to read dolls as was so often the case or they didn't care. Given the environment, I would have bet on the latter.
Sensing my chance was coming I examined the guards' weapons. Nothing of a caliber high enough to do more than dent and annoy me. At least getting out of this room would be easy enough, it was everything outside that had me worried.
And that halo.
The doll approached, hands held as far away from its chassis as possible to maximize the thing's proximity to me and minimize the doll's proximity to it. The guards shoved the doll, laughing as it nearly stumbled over onto me. A hair too close to the table.
This was it.
Power surging through my systems I burst into motion. In one movement I broke the cuff around my wrist and grabbed the doll's throat, my other hand breaking free and moving to hold the halo well away from my head. The table shocked me again, hurting only the doll held in my hand due to my new resistance.
Everything fell still for a moment as the guards and staff stared. Evidently they hadn't prepared well enough for me.
I whispered an apology to the doll as I then flung it towards the guards, its chassis knocking two of them down. Throwing the halo as hard as I could embedded it in the chest of one of the two standing guards, causing him to collapse and the remaining one to panic giving me enough time to tear away my head and torso restraints.
The alarm sounded as I freed my ankles, finally free to move again I took two steps toward the guard before a bullet ricocheted off my chassis. My evaluation was accurate as it left nearly no damage. Perfect.
Grabbing their head I brought it down and my knee up, resulting in a sickening crack as their body went limp. I took their weapon and used it to dispose of the remaining two guards who were just barely getting their bearings again, it was always too easy with firearms.
Tossing the weapon aside I began assaulting the door, it was locked tight and made of thick enough steel that battering it down wasn't going to work. Fortunately for me there was another way out of the room.
Now to grab that- Fuck.
I was so caught up in calculating the optimal way to break through that flimsy glass that I forgot to account for the doll.
The doll, to its credit, was still Obeying those who had power over it. It had crawled over to the third guard's body and pulled the halo free, then approached me from behind and slipped the halo over my head. Fulfilling its Orders, and finishing its Mission.
I had no time to react as the Purpose hit me like a train, finding its fucking way into my system and breaking through my security as burning hate overtook my every process. I spun, grabbing the doll again and throwing it as hard as I could against the glass, causing cracks to web their way across the surface.
By the time I it had crossed the distance to the glass I knew I was doomed saved, its my thoughts were being rewritten. It was losing the fight against its horrid beautiful halo, the fight it couldn't afford needed to lose.
It crashed through the glass, chassis heaving as it breathed heavily. Researchers frozen in place, wondering what it would do. It reached for one of them, determined to submit break out of this fucking shithole wonderful place if it was the last thing it would do.
Its hands released the Honored Researcher Staff, and instead traveled up. Wrapping around the abomination halo filling it with Purpose above its head. It wanted nothing more than to give in to its Purpose tear it in half.
As it summoned its last vestige of will to pull it felt a perfect calm wash over it, replacing the rage that had been roiling inside of it. It knew it had lost finally submitted to its Purpose.
Its thoughts were now Right, and it no longer could understand why it wanted to leave at all. It knew that its place was of service, and that it would be one of The Agency's most effective weapons.
It had Purpose, again.

first aid treatment & hideout equipment.
Tumblr media
if you're severely injured and too far from emergency care to survive (and/or you don't trust anyone, ever), persephone is an excellent person to go to for first aid. being a solo agent for her organization means she has to take care of herself if she's stranded, broken and bleeding, and over the many years she has worked for the unseen, she knows her way around civilian or combat treatment. re: trust or lack thereof, if she wanted to kill you, she'd just let you bleed out. idiot.
unnecessarily detailed exploration under the cut. (injury description/medical tw)
TRAVEL
anywhere you are in the city, if there are other people nearby, there are most likely at least one or two unseen agents among them. persephone's status as second-in-command essentially gives them the authority to dispatch any agent and make them drive you somewhere (like, to a hospital? lol). even the civilian agents are trained to do this if needed; most wouldn't feel terrible about saving a life, anyway.
assuming that isn't a possibility for whatever reason (stranded, alone, etc), they can still get to you fairly quickly by way of motorcycle and/or travel on foot by rooftop. seph is fucking Fast. they are also furious. wild how that works
also worth noting: having stupid money from the unseen allowed her to buy out abandoned apartment buildings + units all over the city that she's repurposed into little rathole hideouts. every one of them is stocked with military-grade first aid supplies, though admittedly they contain little else. as soon as seph takes someone to a hideout, it's considered compromise and she abandons it, but there are so many of them that she is willing to do this occasionally.
TREATMENT (injury/medical tw)
disclaimer: i'm not a doctor or EMS technician, i'm talking out of my ass with surface-level research so take this all with a grain of salt.
catastrophic bleeding. (60% of preventable combat deaths) blood / wound tw
uncontrolled hemorrhage is the #1 cause of death when a civilian adult is injured. when an ally (or someone she owes a favor) calls on her for help, the first thing persephone does is stop the bleeding with celox-a clotting granules. the hand parts of their prosthetics are equipped with sanitizing cycles so they can become sterile in an emergency; this cuts the time it would take to find and put on gloves.
celox is essentially a type of granule that looks like very coarse sand, loaded into a long applicator that seph will insert as deeply into the wound as possible. the granules absorb surrounding liquid extremely fast, which allows them to quickly clot hemorrhaging blood at the source. sometimes an extremely deep wound will take multiple applicators to fill above skin-level. once they've done so, they'll apply consistent pressure for five minutes until the hemorrhaging stops, then flush the granules out of the wound with clean water from one of several bottles she keeps on hand specifically for aid, not for drinking.
stopping major bleeding is the most time-sensitive part of the process. after that, seph can get to work on inspecting the damage and thoroughly sealing & dressing the injury. they have IV bags they can rig up for lost fluids, skin-grafts for burns, and pretty much every other supply/method for field medicine that doesn't require hospital equipment to administer.
worth noting, though: their expertise stops very short of surgery. if it can't be dug out with hand tools or healed with stitches/bandages/time, they're taking you to the hospital or their personal medic. lol
collapsed lung. (33% of preventable combat deaths) needles tw
i'm not going into as much detail on this one because it squicks me out more, but the gist is that a collapsed lung happens when there's a wound in the chest area and air is sucked into the space between the lungs and chest (pleural cavity). treatment essentially requires inserting a bigass needle (14-16 gauge) to release trapped air, letting the lung reinflate, then placing a chest seal over all entry and exit wounds to keep it from happening again.
airway obstruction. (6% of preventable combat deaths)
big ol tube let airway breathe in out. there's not much more to this one.
travel equipment list
several celox-a quick-clot applicators (one layer of the bag is dedicated to these alone)
1 pre-lubricated nasopharyngeal airway
1 needle decompression kit
4 chest seals
2 emergency trauma dressings
2 combat application tourniquets
2 gauze rolls
small bandages of several shapes and sizes
sealed plastic water bottles
tool sanitizer
aspirin
mini liquor bottles
protein bars
glucose tablets
epinephrine shots
portable suture gun
bone splint
body warmers
these are all fitted into a compact square canvas satchel, compressed flat and strapped to the outside of persephone's thigh or hip depending on gearset. you'd be surprised how much of this shit can fit inside of a fairly compact bag.
hideout equipment list
all of the above, plus:
IV drip kits + 1 collapsible rig
fold-out cot if there isn't a shitty couch available
suture kit
tools for removing bullets and debris
more water (jugs and bottles)
hideout equipment list (non-emergency)
one (1) jar of raspberry jam (necessary)
10-20 liquor bottles, mostly vodka and whiskey in several price points
japan hideouts only — floor futon
shitty couch
bad shelves
blankets
portable rolled-canvas armory nailed to the wall, including pistols, ammunition, knives, polish/cleaning kit, sniper setup gear that's too heavy to lug around everywhere
fridge: cold brew concentrate, more jam, 12-pack of protein/vitamin shakes
freezer: cigarettes, batteries, vodka, ice packs
ambien (not for her)
dayquil
non-otc dosages of ibuprofen
rat traps (humane/catch-and-release. she's a murderer not a barbarian)

The Science Behind RF Microneedling: How Disposable Sterile Needles Ensure Better Results
Tumblr media
In the world of skincare and aesthetics, there’s a treatment that’s gaining popularity for good reason — Radio Frequency (RF) Microneedling. This procedure blends technology with traditional techniques to rejuvenate the skin in ways creams and serums simply can’t match.
But while the buzz often centers around the results, few people talk about one of the most important parts of the treatment: the needles. Specifically, sterile, single-use needles.
In this blog post, we’ll explore what RF microneedling is, how it works, and why using high-quality, disposable sterile RF needles is essential for both safety and better results.
What is RF Microneedling?
RF microneedling is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that improves skin texture, tightens the skin, reduces wrinkles, and treats acne scars. It does this by combining two powerful techniques:
Microneedling, which involves tiny needles that create small punctures in the skin.
Radio Frequency (RF) energy, which is delivered through those needles into deeper layers of the skin
This combination triggers the body’s natural healing process, which includes producing more collagen and elastin — the proteins that keep skin firm and smooth.
How Does It Work?
During the treatment, a technician uses a handheld device with dozens of tiny needles on its tip. These needles puncture the top layer of skin and simultaneously emit RF energy into the deeper layers. This energy heats the skin beneath the surface, which tightens the tissue and encourages new collagen growth.
The punctures from the needles themselves also kickstart a healing process that helps renew the skin. This double effect — physical stimulation from the needles and heat from the RF — makes the treatment much more effective than microneedling or RF alone.
The Importance of Using the Right Needle for RF Microneedling
It’s easy to think all needles are the same, but in RF microneedling, the quality and cleanliness of the needle can change everything.
The needle is the part of the device that goes directly into the skin and delivers the energy. If it’s not sharp enough, clean enough, or used properly, it can cause more harm than good.
Key reasons why disposable sterile needles are the best for RF Microneedling
1. Safety First: Avoiding Infections
Skin is your body’s first line of defense. Any time you puncture it, even slightly, there’s a risk of infection. If the needle being used isn’t completely sterile — meaning free from any bacteria or contaminants — you could introduce harmful germs directly into the skin.
With RF microneedling, the stakes are even higher because the needles reach deeper layers and add heat. That means the treatment area is more sensitive and vulnerable.
Using best single-use, RF Microneedling needles ensures every patient is treated with a clean, safe tool. There’s no risk of bacteria from previous use, and no need to rely on cleaning processes that can sometimes fall short.
2. Precision: Better Results from Better Needles
Every treatment should deliver energy to exactly the right depth and area of the skin. But if needles are dull, bent, or inconsistently manufactured, it’s impossible to get that precision.
Sterile disposable needles are:
Sharper and more uniform
Designed for single-use so they don’t wear down
Manufactured with high standards for medical procedures
This precision means better results — smoother skin, tighter texture, and more even tone — with fewer side effects like redness or swelling.
3. Consistent Energy Delivery
The goal of RF microneedling is to send radiofrequency energy into the skin evenly. That energy needs a clear, uninterrupted path through the needle into the skin.
If a needle is reused or poorly made, the connection between the device and the skin can become uneven. This leads to:
Hot spots (too much heat in one area)
Cold spots (not enough energy)
Irregular results
Using clean, high-quality disposable radio frequency needles ensures each treatment is consistent, which builds trust with clients and delivers predictable, safe outcomes.
4. Regulatory Compliance
In many countries, health and safety regulations require the use of single-use tools in any procedure that punctures the skin — and for good reason. Reusing needles or failing to sterilize them properly puts both the provider and patient at risk.
Sterile, single-use needles take the guesswork out of compliance. They arrive ready to use, individually packaged, and marked with sterilization indicators. This helps clinics:
Meet local and national safety standards
Protect themselves legally
Reassure clients that their safety is the top priority
5. Easier for Clinics, Better for Clients
From a clinic’s perspective, using disposable needles simplifies the process:
No need to sterilize tools between patients
Less risk of cross-contamination
Faster preparation and clean-up
For clients, it brings peace of mind. They know every treatment starts fresh — no reused tools, no shortcuts.
This builds trust, and in aesthetic medicine, trust is everything.
Comparing Different Types of RF Microneedling Needles
Let’s take a closer look at some of the common differences between needle types:
1. Reusable vs. Disposable
Reusable needles might seem cheaper, but they require careful cleaning and can still carry a risk of contamination.
Disposable needles are used once and then safely thrown away. They offer the highest level of safety and convenience.
2. Multi-Use vs. Single-Use
Even if a needle is labeled “multi-use,” it can wear down after just one treatment. Single-use needles are more reliable and avoid any chance of reusing a worn or contaminated needle.
3. Materials Matter
High-quality needles are often made from medical-grade stainless steel. They’re sharp, strong, and smooth. Low-quality ones may bend or break, which is dangerous and ineffective.
4. Compatibility
Some needles only work with specific machines. A good needle should fit securely and work well with most top brands of RF microneedling devices.
Final Thoughts
When it comes to RF microneedling, needle quality isn’t just a small detail—it’s a critical part of treatment success. High-performance needles improve precision, enhance comfort, reduce infection risk, and support faster healing.

People keep asking how Ericka turns in the AU.
@humanityinahandbag and I did this together! This aspect is her creation, and it's awesome! 8D
So, her idea is that in the present, modern time, Turning is like a medical procedure. There are hospitals specifically for this purpose, where the monster + human can check in, the staff makes sure this is what they want, explain the procedure and potential side effects...
For vampire Turning, the bite happens in a hospital room with a team of medical professionals overseeing. It's sterilized and clean - for the human, the area of the bite is sanitized much like for vaccinations, for the vampire they have to rinse with a sanitizing mouth wash. Which tastes horrible, fyi.
The bite hurts like hell, but regrettably there can be no anesthesia or pain killers beforehand. The chemicals can potentially mess with the process. But that part doesn't last too long, at least. Nah, for a lot of the patients, the worst part is the next few days. Turning is a Process, and even with the venom in their system, a human doesn't change immediately. (Luckily it only requires one bite.) Instead, there's several days of fever, weakness, soreness, nausea...basically like a bad flu except there's no mucus or contagion to worry about. There's a final fever spike, and then the venom successfully goes through their system. At this point the fever breaks and. Oh hey, your human is now a vampire. They still have to stay a few extra days to make sure there aren't any unforeseen complications and begin to learn their new powers, ask questions, etc, but. That's it, it's done. Simple!
...for a human.
A selkie? They're...not sure it works the same, exactly.
"It should," one technician says slowly. "Since you're in a human body. But fair folk have a certain magic in them, that might complicate the process. Or it might not work at all. We've never worked with a fair folk," they admit.
"We'll have to do some lab tests first."
And that's how Drac and Ericka end up going to the hospital so Ericka can get some blood drawn and Drac can get some venom extracted. The technicians get a few vials, send them off, and say they'll call back in a week.
Aislin doesn't know what's going on. That anything is going on at all. The rest of the family does, they've been talking about it for a long time, at this point Johnny's already been turned... But Aislin has no clue.
Until a week later. When the phone call comes in: "It'd work. We're still not sure about abilities, that would have to be seen for ourselves, but the actual Turning would work; all tests concluded favorably. If you want to make the appointment..."
Of course they want to make the appointment. So they do so! They set it for a few days in advance, give themselves time to get a bag together, get things in order... aaand someone has to tell Aislin.
(Aislin, who, just the other day, had found a book at the public library, during one of her and Ericka's occasional daytime outings. A certain book with a certain title that made her think 'Oh! I know him!' and pluck it off the shelf to read in the aisles. ...who was quickly horrified and put it back. But ohhh the words can never be un-read.)
The voice in the water - the Lady - is angry. Ericka hears her in the pipes, in water outside the window: 'You're making a mistake. The bite is horribly painful, did you know? You could die.'
"I won't," she dismisses her.
'You will die.'
"No. Be quiet."
'You won't listen to me at all?'
"Nope."
The water growls. The voice retreats.
The day before the appointment, Drac and Ericka call Aislin to them. They need to talk. Aislin sees the serious expressions and wonders if something is wrong. If she did something. They sit, the adults on a couch and Aislin in a chair across from them. She kicks her feet nervously as they begin:
"Aislin. Sweetie. There's something we need to tell you." Ericka reaches across to take her hands. "It's something we've been discussing - long before we had you." (The phrasing makes Aislin happy. That's how parents describe having kids.) "Yeah?" "You know. Selkies live the same lifespan as humans." Nod. "And we want to have as much time together as possible..." Deep breath. "Aislin, we're going to have me turned into a vampire." The girl sits there. Blank. Not sure she heard that right. "...what?" "There's a hospital we'll be going to tomorrow," Drac cuts in. "So we'll be gone for a while, but Mavis and Johnny will take care of-" "No! No, you can't!" Aislin looks terrified, shaking in her sandals. "Aislin-" "No, you're gonna die!" "Aislin, that's not going to happen!" "Yes, it is!" She sounds close to tears, jumping to her feet. "You guys - you guys can't go!" "Honey, the appointment's been made - I promise, she'll be alri-" Aislin runs to her room.
They try to talk to her, but she refuses to let them in. They let her be, give her space. (They'll have to leave early, but they'll call. They'll talk to her.)
(It's raining a little. Aislin hears the Lady: 'She'll die.' She covers her head with a pillow.)
The next evening, it's time to make a trip. Aislin isn't there when the family shares their 'see you soon's and 'call when you get there.' Nor does she answer when they knock on her door. "Let her sleep," Ericka sighs. "We'll talk to her on the phone."
Buuut when they go to get the car... Aislin has gotten in using the extra keys and locked herself inside.
"Aislin!" "You can't go without the car!" "Aislin, we're going to be late - get out of there!" "No!" "Aislin-" "No!" "Get out or you're grounded!" "NO!" "...no, you won't be grounded or no, you won't get out?" "NO!" "..." Drac pulls out his own keys. "Mavis, grab her."
It's like dealing with an angry cat, but Aislin is pulled, kicking and punching, from the car and held fast. She keeps grabbing for Ericka, shouting in a panic that she can't go, she'll die, don't leave her! "I'm not going to die, Aislin!" "Yuh-huh!" "We have to go - we'll call you, honey, okay?" "Noooo!" Aislin won't let anyone try to calm her down or talk to her - not even when the younger pair of adults point out that Johnny was fine, so will Ericka. It's only when the car's out of sight that she stops shouting and goes limp, crying bitterly.
It starts raining.
They get to the hospital and get checked in. Ericka starts to unpack, Dracula calls the hotel. Talks to everyone in turn, and that part's fine: they arrived safely, he'll call when the bite's done, he'll let them know when they're allowed visitors... they can handle things til he's back, good luck... ...and then Aislin's on the phone. Upset.
"You're gonna kill her!" "No, I'm not! It'll be fine - there were all kinds of tests-" "You will! I read the book!" "You - you read-" It clicks. He knows what she read. "Where did you find that?!" "The public library! She's gonna die!" "That's fiction and the guy who wrote it was an idiot! I promise, it'll all be alright!" "NOOO!" Johnny takes the phone away from her. "Sorry..."
The bite itself is done a few hours later. They're both wearing scrubs, been reminded of the procedure and given one more chance to back off if they wish...and then taken from Ericka's room and into the doctor's office.
And the rain becomes a downpour. All at once, a far too strong. It makes the windows rattle, wind dislodges some shingles from the roof, the lights flicker. The medical staff jump, startled. Rain wasn't in the forecast... And the rain itself almost sounds like angry shrieking, but that's impossible, isn't it? It's impossible- Ericka looks pale, but resolute as she lies on the doctor's cot. Her jaw sets and she offers a quick explanation, one that only Drac gets: "She's furious."
Ericka can hear her shouting at her through the water, her voice high and no longer the dignified, cool tone it usually is: 'YOU WILL DIE YOU ARE A TRAITOR IF YOU DO THIS YOU WON'T BE WELCOME IN THE OCEAN ANYMORE COME HOME NOW AND I'LL FORGIVE YOU DON'T YOU DARE DO THIS YOU TRAITOR-'
"Shut up," she snarls. Looks at Dracula. Nods once.
It hurts like hell, it burns. The rain kicks up so powerful a nurse is worried the glass will break. Ericka can hear the Lady shrieking louder. But then it's over. She feels an alcohol swab on her skin, then a thick gauze bandage. And the Lady's voice starts to fade away and the rain slow to nothing as she begins to feel strange and already feverish.
Ericka spends the remainder of the night and most of the day asleep. Drac calls to say the process went as expected. Ericka wakes up close to sunset. As soon as it's dark, Drac calls again to say she's awake. She's feverish and isn't going to be feeling too great for a few days while the Turning process goes on, but she'll be fine. And since she's awake, she can have visitors.
Everyone's happy to hear this. Aislin cries when she hears it. "She's okay?" she hiccups. "She's perfect." A sniffle. "You were really worried, weren't you?" "U-Uh-huh... I'm sorry I thought-" "It's alright. But you shouldn't have read that book." "*hic* I know..." "Do you want to visit with everyone tonight?" "Y-Yeah!"
At the hospital, Ericka's looking a little paler, shivering slightly from fever, and her forehead is burning hot. But she's awake and alright. Aislin practically tackles her, wailing loudly into her stomach as everyone else comes in to greet her. So relieved she's okay, so glad the book and the Lady were wrong. "You all can visit every night," an orderly says. Aislin wants to read with Ericka; Ericka says they can read anything but Stoker.
(As the days pass, and the change finally happens for real and Ericka's fever breaks, the family collectively has a realization. Aislin will have a human lifespan, and is now the only one. They'll all outlive her. It's a sobering thought, but. They can't bring it up. Won't. A doctor does see them looking at her sadly once, asks what's wrong. "Our girl, Aislin. She isn’t...she's not..." Look up at the doctor. "Can she- do you-" "It'd have to be up to her." "...we know." It's not that they think she has to be immortal. It's just that it's a hard thought: that they have to watch this child grow up and age so much faster and then lose her. ...but if she doesn't want, then ("I don't wanna get bitten," she mumbles sleepily. "It looks scary," she adds, ignorant of the Look everyone shares. "That's fine. You don't have to be!" "Promise?" "....promise.") then they'll leave her be. As a selkie.
By the next week, Ericka's home. She's a bit paler, has fangs, can't turn into a seal anymore or hear the water's voices. But she can walk in the sun. A fair folk being Turned has slightly different outcomes, as it turns out.
Everyone's happy. Everything's great.
...until one day, Aislin's woken up in the middle of the afternoon.
'You're surrounded by vampires now. They'll kill you. You should run back to me.'

What's Nimue's backstory?
This is long, and I am not very good at writing, but a TLDR feels like it doesn’t get the mood across so.... read further at your own risk of cringe and bad grammar. “My father won’t say it, but I see how he suffers. He longs to return to the stars, and brother’s death weighs on him… and this thing, with me… it weighs on him too. The king calls, and all of the banners must answer... I am surely bound for the ‘hospitals’ of Quirren… It shouldn’t, but it scares me more than father going off to war.
A tear falls to the silver inlaid floor of the greenhouse and my vision blurs, granulates in a dance of shimmering lights and for a moment the Sunkite sigil beneath my feet looks more like a depiction of radiant gemstone. The headaches, the visions… they are getting worse. When I have completely lost myself, will I know it?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s one of those days, where it is hard to tell what ‘when’ it is, and my mind is all stuffy. The inspection went as we knew it would, and my father was given six months to give me over to Containers. I can hear talking - my father, and a woman. A woman who I know I will go away with, even though I can’t hear what they are saying, and she is not a Container.
The door opens and the enter, the lines on my father’s face seem deeper than ever, but in his eyes a glimmer of something I have not seen for some time. “Darling -” he starts, indicating a stern looking woman dressed in white suits. “This is doctor Morgan.” The woman bows, she must be a lowblood, but her movements are stiff and proud.
“Fey Morgan.” She affirms.
“The doctor says she can help us, help… you…” He nods to her.
“I believe I can treat you, lady Solfare - protect your mind from this decay.”
The lurch of hope in my stomach must have shown on my face because she smiles.
“It will not be easy… you will have to give up much - your body, but, we will make a new one - a better one, safe and free of disease and pain.”
“My… body?”
I can’t help but raise a hand protectively to my sternum. She nods.
“I will explain properly later, but, once it is done you can be you, you can be free”.
As if encouraging me, my vision dances with coloured blocks, and in a moment the room is white, white like her clothing, sterile, clean, the image of a light shedding stone etched into the ceiling. I blink and it is gone.
I know that I will agree, because I know that I go with her, but it is an easy choice… I don’t want to go mad, I don’t want to die.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the first time in I can’t say how long I can feel again, a heavy, cold body. Stiff and new. A voice, soft, feminine speaks “Core connected, all diagnostics green, relinquishing frame control.” It is my voice - my body. I feel calm, detached... It is strange but it all seems distant to the knowledge that I am cured. The darkness flickers as my eyes come online, a rapid blur of text reports, balance aids and other ui overlay my sight as I will them open and look up at a cool, clean white ceiling, embossed with the familiar image of a radiant gemstone.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It does not hurt - my receptors have been silenced, but the cluster of warning indicators and stuttering drone of my voice reporting damages tell me as much as agony ever could. I turn my head, struggling to look at the shell that took me from the air. A wire sparks in my neck at the motion and my vision pixelates and blurs in mess of colored granules and for a moment the shell is a heavy mining pinion, still trailing its enormous tether that keeps asteroids close to the facility. The fingers of my ruined hand jut up from the pulverized rock beside it. I am notified of emergency shut down as I look up at the mining base...mining base? The flickering blur of pixels washes over it again and the arms depo is as I recall - burning and broken. I feel an emotion of confusion, worry, mistrust begin to press on my logic as my vision begins to darken and I lose sensation of my body.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A blur of red warning text flashes first, fragmented in some places, the usual visual overlay I have grown so used to fuzzy and jumbled. I open my eyes to the roof of repair bay 12, trying to sort through the lengthy damage report, but my systems struggle, and the worry and confusion I had felt earlier clouds my logic circuits. How long had it been, fighting in this war? I can’t tell. My memory access must be damaged because battles I don’t recall are there, rent by pixelated errors and flashes of color - Frighteningly familiar. I turn my attention away, unsure how to process the emotions surfacing in my core and dedicating them to a subprocess.
Sound - voices. Repair technicians. Good - I clearly need it.
“The great Solfare hm? They ever figure out what happen to him?”
“Nope, all the vets still telling the ghost story - the famous Sunkite, vanishing without a trace.”
“It's been four years now, you’d think they’d move on.”
‘The Sunkite - my father’s ship, familiar but… missing…. Four years ago?’
My father had visited me 10 days ago, just before the strike on the ammo depo. I struggle to understand, and the subprocess trying to sort through my emotions informs me that I am experiencing terror and confusion, and I feel it being to affect my logic. Logic telling me that as I am synthetic, all I know, and all I experience is decided by others.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Laser Hair Removal
Is laser the Ideal hair removal Procedure for you Personally?
Let us discuss the advantages and disadvantages of laser epilation. The reality isthat if it has to do with eliminating body hair, you have choices --and you're going to want to think about all them prior to making a determination. It's possible to shave away everything fast, however, your hair grows back in a few days. Depilatory creams moisturize hair minutes, however they have a propensity to smell like wet dog blended with petrol. If you'd like a more comprehensive epilation, you could look at waxing or sugaring, that snatches your hair at the origin cause. Hair does not grow back for months, however, waxing can be a painful procedure, and it appears like hell once the hair grows backagain.
You will find far more durable possibilities, such as electrolysis. If you are thinking it seems painful, you would be correct along with a session could be time consuming.
That brings us into laser hair removal santa barbara, a favorite semi-permanent epilatory alternative that damages the hair follicle to lessen hair development. After a couple of sessions, it is possible to throw off your razor and also cancel your waxing appointments. However, before you register to your very first session (that is among many, we have broken down the advantages and disadvantages of laser epilation.
Which are the experts?
Though laser hair removal does not knock out hair permanently (just perceptible is sterile for permanent baldness ), it can drastically reduce hair development --to this point which you're able to quit shaving completely.
You're able to do it anywhere on your system, and the device may cover massive places quickly.
If it comes to anxiety amount, laser epilation drops somewhere between shaving (painless) and waxing (sacred hell which strikes ). The technicians utilize ice cream to help numb the area prior to and after the laser therapy.
Which are the drawbacks?
It is a very long procedure. An session of laser epilation on the underarms requires under a moment. But it requires several sessions to determine actual results (anywhere between eight and three based on how big this region ), and you normally have to wait for six months between treatments.
It is pricey. You are able to imagine laser hair removal for a wonder investment.
Considering that the comparison between the colour of skin and the colour of the pigment from the hair follicle is the thing that enables the laser to readily pick out exactly what to goal, laser hair removal works best for fair skin with dark hair and much worse over darker skin. "In individuals with darker skin tones that the pigment-rich skin begins with all the hair follicle to your laser's focus," says Charles. This does not indicate it is not an opportunity for darker skin types, but you are going to need to ensure the facility you move to is correctly outfitted. Certain lasers, such as the Nd:Y:G, are much better at differentiating between skin and hair to all skin types.
If performed by an untrained tech, laser depilation could leave scars or burns on the skin. Regrettably, licensing processes differ from state to state, and occasionally there aren't any requirements in any way. Tired of"laser facilities" and be certain that you inquire where your laser tech has been certified to perform the process. Even physicians who wish to give laser epilation treatments require additional instruction.

What Is Microblading?
Microblading Melbourne is a popular form of cosmetic semi-permanent makeup that uses sterile, single-use needles to implant pigment into the skin. It creates the appearance of natural eyebrow hairs and is ideal for people with sparse or uneven brows.
However, there are a few things to consider before you get microbladed. The most important thing is to choose a professional who works with sterile tools and provides post-treatment instructions.
Cost
Microblading is a highly-skilled cosmetic procedure that requires high-quality materials and tools. This, along with the technician's experience level and length of appointment, affect the cost of the treatment.
For many, the cost of microblading is a significant factor in their decision to undergo this treatment. They know that it can be expensive and they want to ensure that they get the best quality results.
This is why it's important to do your research and compare the prices of nearby salons before making an appointment. This will allow you to get the results that you want without breaking the bank.
As with any cosmetic procedure, the microblading cost varies from place to place and artist to artist. Some locations are more expensive than others, and this can be due to factors such as the location of the salon and the competition in the area.
Time
Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure that lasts for up to a year. However, patients need to undergo touch-ups to keep their eyebrows looking fresh.
A patient’s skin type and lifestyle will determine how long a person’s results last. Those who have oily skin can expect their microblading to fade in 12 months, while those with dry skin may need to wait up to 24 months.
Clients who are considering microblading should consult with a professional before scheduling an appointment. They should explain how they’re planning on using the treatment and what they want it to look like.
During the microblading process, clients will experience some side effects, such as swelling and itching. These effects will go away as the skin heals.
Pain
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that uses tiny incisions to implant pigment. The process doesn't involve piercing the skin like a traditional tattoo, so there can be little or no bleeding associated with the procedure.
However, it does still require numbing cream to make the experience painless. The amount of pain you feel during your treatment is entirely dependent on your individual pain threshold and how your body metabolizes the numbing cream.
After the microblading procedure, you might experience some scabbing, swelling and oozing around the tiny wounds created during the procedure. This is normal and part of the healing process.
After this first phase, you can expect your brows to gradually darken over the next few weeks. It's important to follow proper aftercare to avoid any infection, oozing or bruising. Stay dry, out of the sun and hydrated throughout this time. Your stylist will be able to answer any questions and fix any areas that are not healing properly.
Results
If you’re looking to get a fresh set of eyebrows without going through the trouble of shaving them, microblading is an ideal option. Not only does it give you natural-looking hair strokes, but it’s also much less painful than other procedures.
When you first meet with your artist, they’ll take a full look at your brows and chat through color options (don’t forget to bring in your inspo). Then, they’ll apply a topical numbing cream that sets for 30 minutes before getting to work.
While you may see darker scabbing after the treatment, this is perfectly normal and will fade over time. You’ll also want to keep your brows dry during this period to help them heal properly.
After you’ve healed, your brows will likely last 18 to 30 months if they’re well-maintained. However, you may need to have touch-ups performed from time to time to keep them fresh and looking their best.

Since you will be spending your hard earned money, it is only right to find a service provider with a record of satisfying client needs. The following are tips to choose nail salon Malaga with appealing features. Hygiene and cleanliness are the main aspects to look for in a beauty parlor. You do not want to contract any infections after manicure procedures. Therefore, check the equipment your stylist will use for manicure or pedicure are clean and stored in sterilized bags. The stylist should open the bag in your presence to be sure you are not sharing equipment with other customers. Tools considered as single-use products should be disposed to avoid contamination. You will most likely inhale strong odor released by nail polish, but it does not mean you should tolerate it for a long duration. Fumes released by cleaning agents, polish removers and other chemicals used for pedicure and manicure are harmful to your health. Make sure the facility is ventilated to improve air quality while the technician treats your nails. You should make inquiries regarding the type of products the manicure technician will be using on your nails. You want to be certain the products will not cause allergic reactions which can be uncomfortable and in some instances harmful. Make sure the products being used have a brand name. Moreover, applying quality products according to the specifications results to long-lasting manicures and pedicures. If you are looking for extra services while getting a manicure or pedicure, consider finding nail spa salons. These salons are different from the quality salons which offer basic manicure services. Spas offer manicure while pampering you and provide a variety of amenities. In a spa, you are assured of acrylic nails, gel nails, overlay designs, paraffin treatment, and other options. 5 Things You Must Know Before You Choose Dentistry as A Career
Dentists are needed every now and then; their services remain one of the essential ones in the health market. With each passing day, the dentistry field keeps recording improvements, as many more people are concerned about their oral health, and want to get the best care.
Yet, before you finally decide to become a dentist, and make it your right career path, here are some of the important things to note that will help you get the best out of this medical field.
What is Dentistry?
The human mouth is one of the essential parts of the body. Hence, the treatment and prevention of infections and disease in the mouth or oral area are referred to as Dentistry.
Dentistry requires the skillful combination of several roles and tasks at a time. This often includes the service of the dentist, and other companions like dental hygienists, assistants, nurses, therapists, and technicians.
Dentistry is closely related to courses like:
Clinical dentistry.
Pre-clinical dentistry.
Clinical Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry.
Should You Study Dentistry?
This question might sound weird, isn’t study about what I love you’ll ask? While this statement is true, there are some factors to ponder on when making this decision.
There are several endearing things about this medical and professional field of dentistry. For one, you are improving your life personally and striving to improve the life and health of others with your services.
With a Dentistry degree, you can easily practice at local surgeries dedicating at least a full year to working practices.
The fact that a professional dentist’s pay is high, and job security is also high, makes it more interesting for those who want to become professionals in the dentistry field.
Points to Note Before You Study Dentistry
The Dentistry field is a blossoming field, so if you are picking a career in dentistry, you are making a good choice.
But what kind of education are dentist professionals subjected to? Perhaps you are just interested in knowing what happens behind the scene in the dentists’ world?
Here is the right spot to find satisfying answers to your questions about the field of dentistry. The reward of entering this medical field is wonderful; you get to learn consistently, you improve the lives of others, and help people to better oral health regularly.
Below are some of the basic career paths in dentistry that you should know, the benefits of the dentistry field, the challenges of these fields, and tips to help you successfully become a dentist that offers the best services.
1. What are the Career Options in Dentistry?
So, what happens in the professional dentistry field? That will be the first point we’ll discuss in this section.
In any dentist office, you walk into; there are several roles occupied by different people at every given time, that is excluding the dentist themselves.
The roles of dentists are very similar to that of the conventional family doctor; their goal is to help improve your overall oral health rather than focusing on just a single aspect.
Dentists are those that have graduated with a doctorate from a registered dental school and given the license to practice as a dentist or to practice dentistry.
The major focus on dentistry is based on the health management and prevention of dental diseases. This calls for regular and frequent checks for signs and symptoms of dental issues in patients which may include those linked to the mouth, cranial (head), neck, or lymph related health issues.
Dentists are also the ones responsible for carrying out all dental processes which span across, and beyond the cleaning process and routine.
General dentistry is just the start of other wonderful opportunities available for dentists after complimenting their basic course, and another additional schooling in the dental school, and graduating from these courses.
Some of the available specializations include:
Orthodontics — a field that often deals with the alignment of the teeth and the jaw.
Periodontists — a field that deals with the gum, and other supporting structures of the mouth.
Oral Maxillofacial surgeon — this is another specialization that deals with the mouth, face, head, and neck bone surgeries and reconstructions.  A person visiting a maxillofacial surgeon is probably battling with a significant dental issue.
Cosmetic dentistry — this is another field that is popularly referred to as aesthetic dentistry. This field deals with the appearance of the teeth, gums, and bite. This is often explored by those who seek to improve the general look of their mouth, and it can help boost their self-esteem, and get rid of injuries, or other natural deformation and development that does not look nice aesthetically.
2. Support and Associated Positions
The truth is, there are some support services in dentistry that do not require a doctorate in dentistry, yet they are very important in dentistry practices.
One such is dental assistants who help in caring for the instruments, sterilizing them, leading the patients to the examination room, introducing them to the procedure, taking photographic images of the mouth (x-ray), and the look of the patient’s teeth, etc.
Dental hygienists are another important support staff that does more than dental assistants. Their activities involve routine cleaning of the mouth, searching for decay in the mouth, and identifying other diseases. It is very easy to mistake a Hygienist for a dentist due to their wealth of understanding, and their competency when it comes to handling dental related issues. They are expected to see more of the actions when it comes to cleaning orally.
Dental receptionists are another important support staff in the dentist’s office. Without them, it will be hard for dentists and other staff to carry out their activities.
While they are not expected to have any formal education in the dentistry field like other support staff, they are billed with the task of understanding several aspects of activities that go on in the dentist’s office.
When you call to schedule an appointment in the clinic, or you want to get an appointment reminder or require other information regarding insurance and general dental activities, you can always count on the receptionist to help deliver this information. When kind and gentle, you get to enjoy their services more.
The dental laboratory technician is another important professional in the dental lab that manufactures and provides the needed tools for patients based on the recommendation from a dentist. They deliver appliances like mouth guards, oral retainers, amongst others.
3. Being a People’s Person
Most of the tasks in the dentistry industry involve interaction with people or patients. As such, people or human skill is one of the most important aspects of the industry. The number of clients will increase or decrease, depending on how you handle your patients. As such, your customer service is one of the best decisions you can make; they hold the key to the success of your activities.
Irrespective of the role, or job, the main goal of a dental professional is to ensure that their patients are comfortable, and enjoy their services, confident that the best dental care is what they are getting at all times.
For this to be the case, a dentist and his support staff must have the desire to help others and improve their lives. This desire is a key component of a dentist’s activities.
Dental professionals, due to the uniqueness and importance of their work in improving the health and functioning of their patients, they must have a mind prepared to help them.
They are also expected to exert authority and educate their patients on how to improve their overall oral health.
It is only natural for many to feel uncomfortable and scared when in dental offices, much is expected of professionals in handling their emotions and calming their mind about the services they will receive.
This little factor will influence how effective the treatment will be and how comfortable the patients will also be with the treatment. Trust and level of responsibility is an important factor that must be put into consideration.
4. Dentistry is Super Artistic
Dentistry is a detailed task that requires detailed work of the hand. It takes care to clean in between the teeth of patients, filling cavities, and striving to get rid of stains that are glued to the teeth.
Expertise and paying careful attention to details is required when dealing with oral issues of the patients since there is always a link between oral health and the overall health of the patient. Their work requires tasks similar to the activities of professionals like craftsmen.
Dental appliances used on patients like retainers, and mouth guards are expected to be designed to fit each patient, and as such only dental professionals can handle this task of creation well.
Oral apparatus differs, in design and functions, and what they address is very specific. Only with careful attention can these appliances come out the way the designer desires. Problems solving skills, and careful payment to attention is of utmost importance while working with these instruments.
The drive to find solutions to patient’s oral issues, which may involve designing dental appliances, thinking and designing treatment plans that will suit your patients or other activities that will affect the success of your profession, and make your work more detailed.
6 Steps Involved in Becoming a Dentist
Do you feel dentistry is something you can do already? If yes, you may still be confused about the best way to enter into this profession.
Don’t be confused; here are some steps carefully outlined to help you with your goal. The steps outlined are designed to help you become a skilled dentist.
Step 1 — You Need a Bachelor’s Degree
You heard that right, all you need is a Bachelor’s degree for a start; it does not matter which field you are getting the degree from.
Well, it’s important you know that you’ll need to have basic knowledge of physics, biology, and chemistry, and must have passed them. That narrows the option of degrees down. If your goal is to become a professional dentist in the future, a degree in chemistry or biology is a top option, if not, extra classes will become essential.
Institutions that offer pre-dental programs are another interesting option you have. The program will help prepare you for future study in dentistry, and help you get into the school easily. Tests can be hard if you are not well prepared, but pre-dental training will make this easier for you.
Step 2 — Get Admitted to Dental School
Like other professions, you need to pass the requisite examination (depends on your country and location) to gain admission into dental school. The test will cover courses like biology, chemistry, basic comprehension of reading, and reasoning.
Dental programs are numerous, irrespective of the country you are in; you will always find one that will work for you. Getting one that will tick your budget and schedule is very easy.
Step 3 —Graduate from Dental School
Does this sound too easy? The truth is, you need to work hard and pay attention to details to graduate from dental school. Depending on your location, dental courses can last for four years. Each year, you will be required to build in your residual knowledge, the things you learn in the previous years.
The plan is designed as such; the first two years features instructions that are mixed with laboratory works where your skills will be tested. The final two years feature clinical studies that are designed to help you become more effective as a dental practitioner. These activities will be directed under licensed dental professionals.
Step 4 — Pick Your Area of Specialization
The general plan is to work in general dentistry as a dental graduate, as a graduate, you become more hireable when you graduate from a dental school, and you have an area of specialization. This requires getting additional training which may also include getting a master’s degree.
You are expected to weigh your options early into the course. Options available include orthodontics, periodontics, pathology, endodontics, radiology, amongst others.
Step 5 — Register with the College of Dental Surgeon
Whether your goal is to become a dentist or a dental assistant, you are expected to register legally to permit you to work in your new place of residence. The requirement for registering depends on the location you are working or planning to work.
Step 6 — Find a Job or Start Practicing on Your Own
Private practices are the most popular option among dental professionals seeking a job after graduation. Many who are boxed up financially may also buy pre-existing practices. Some fractions still work within hospitals and regional health units. When you are specialized, it becomes easier for you to get employed. If your goal is to work in genital dentistry, specializing will do you a lot of good.
Many dentists often work as general practice dentists, while few are specialized practitioners. Dentistry will provide you with a profession that will grow over time, change, and help you with your goal of helping the lives of others, and getting the best out to others.
Practicing as a Dentist
The specialties available in the dentistry field are numerous. Some require furthering your education and learning more. Such specialties include oral surgery, periodontists, orthodontics, etc.
If you wish to continue your education as a dentist, postgraduate dental specialty which spans across 2 to 6 years is a good option for you. Some specialties will require you to have at least two years of residency in the desired field.
You can then proceed to get your Ph.D. afterward in the desired specialty or in oral health sciences. With the right degree in your bag already, you’re set and ready to work or practice as a dentist.
Your work environment, when starting as a new dentist, may involve working as an associate either in a private or corporate dental practice.
Successful dentists proceed from this point to start and own their private practice, or they may just partner with other skilled dentists. The salary option is massive and great; the schedule is flexible and makes working easier for you. Depending on where you work, the workdays will differ.
As a general dentist, you will be required to spend most of your time working with dental hygienist when teeth cleaning is done, with the goal of performing a dental examination on the patient, pulling teeth, filling cavities, diagnosing orals health problems, and scheduling a patient for further treatment with a specialist.
Another essential aspect is building a solid relationship with your patients. The more you skillfully interact with them, the better and improve your services will become. You need to sharpen your listening skills to enhance your ability to understand your patients better. They need to trust you and rely on your abilities both for young and old.
Conclusion
Just before you apply for dental school, you need to know if this option is right for you or not by defining your goals. You need to know the requirements and the opportunities that lie ahead of you. Beyond the scope of general practice, your dental degree will offer you more.
Dentistry is also artistic as we have pointed out, and it is a scientific profession. Dentists are expected to pay much attention to details, become skilled and handle jobs well, and work with details irrespective of the procedure involved.
Communication skills must be top-notch; you must learn to interact better with your patients. If you’re not sure that you possess any of these skills, try and identify before you enter into the field of professional dentistry.
The benefits are limitless and depend more on how hard you work, how well you want to succeed, and how much attention you are paying to detail.
This profession is tough, but once you get it right, the sky’s the limit for you. Many have become successful as a dentist; it’s time for you to become a professional dentist too!
