In the ancient lore of creation, it is said that the universe is woven from the fabric of four primordial elements, and whosoever masters these shall hold sway over all that exists. Yet, within the arcane craft of artistry, a parallel mystery dwells—four sacred elements that the artist must command to shape their vision into being.
The first, and most fundamental, is the tool of the artisan's hand, be it wrought of wood or imbued with the glow of modern alchemy. This is the essence of Earth, the solid foundation upon which all creation rests.
But beyond this foundation lie the three dimensions, each a veil to be lifted. The first dimension, the Point, whispers of the artist’s very soul—a revelation of their style, unique as a star’s own light. The second dimension flows like Water, bearing the language of form and geometry, squares, circles and triangles. The third, aflame with the power of Fire, is the realm of depth and volume, the art of bringing the flat plane to life in radiant three-dimensionality.
When these four elements are united, they call forth the fifth: the Spirit, that which breathes light and life into creation. It is the essence of the finished work, resonating with the soul of the beholder, as if echoing the music of the spheres.
In my own humble endeavor, I have sought to delve into this mystery, studying the human head from myriad angles to grasp the secrets of the three dimensions. May this effort serve as a guide to those who seek to walk this path and uncover the truths hidden within the artful labyrinth.

I tried to make a tutorial for ¾-profile. I wasn't decided how I would do it while I was drawing. To write the instructions here or on little notes in the pictures. I decided to take pictures for both, but when I was finished I didn't have pictures enough to neither. I post what I got. I started to make a new one, but this should have been up Sunday, so I don't have time. Use it as best you can. I'll do a better one some other time. Yeah, you should probably watch the pic's one at the time, so you see the whole picture.
Credit should go to Chommang, in who's payed membership class on YouTube I learnt how to draw faces like this. I advice everyone who are interested in pencil drawing to check him out.

made an explanation of how I draw heads. I've had trouble with following a lot of tutorials in the past, so I decided that an explanation with pictures is a better way to do it for artists like me.

Two months have passed since I first set forth upon the path of studying the form and construction of face and body. Now, I return once more to the craft, seeking to refine the shaping of the head, that seat of thought and visage of the soul. The Magician stands at the gateway of the tarot, the first of the arcane mysteries—a master of skill, a wielder of knowledge, and yet but the beginning of the great road ahead. He is numbered one, for though he knows much, he has yet to walk the winding ways of life, where high peaks and shadowed valleys lie before him.
In time, the road leads ever onward until one beholds the Moon, the veiled lantern of night, whose pale glow reveals the illusions that cloud our minds—the false belief that mastery has been attained when in truth, we are ever students.
Thus, the journey does not merely turn in a circle, but coils like a mighty spiral, ever ascending and deepening, until the last number brings me back to the first. And so, I take up my tools once more, returning to the labors of old, that my mortal hands might not forget the wisdom granted by the unseen spirits of art, who whisper their secrets to those who listen with patient heart and steady hand.

TUTORIAL, BASIC FRONT FACE, LEVEL VIEW.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Draw a circle. Put a point in the middle.
2. Divide the circle with a vertical line. Draw a horizontal line downward from the middle point.
3. You have 3 lines from the middle point. Divide each with a mark on the middle. Divide the outer half in 2 equal parts. Put a mark for the chin a quarter lines length outside the circle. Cut off the outer quarters of the circle with a line, to start getting a headshape.
4. Start forming the face by drawing slightly inwards slanting lines from the middle. When you meet the edge of the circle, connect the line with the chin mark. Shape top of the head.
5. Place a circle for the nose between the middle line and the chin. Draw mouth between nose and chin. Draw a short line under the mouth. Draw a horizontal line a little bit above the nose. Draw the eyesockets between the lines.
6. Draw the ears between the top in line with the upper eyesockets, the tip in line with the nose. Draw 2 lines to form the neck. Connect the neck with the place the shoulders should be, with 2 curved lines. Draw collarbones.
7. Divide the eyesockets. Draw the eyes upper lines and the iris. Draw nostrils under the nose circle. Add eyebrows.
8. Add the hairline between top of the head and eyebrow line. Erase support lines. Smooth all lines and curves.
BASIC FACE FINISHED. ADD FEATURES, CORRECT AFTER STYLE & CHARACTER.
