honestly i've been in such a sludge-y kind of mood [not depressed but i've fallen into a very unproductive routine, it happens when i stay home for a long time w/o a job or school] and i've like not studied at all for my NCLEX on monday. i'm debating if i want to reschedule to the 9th or if i want to just yolo it and give it a shot after taking a few practice tests. the worst case ontario if i don't pass the first time, i'll just pay to take it again [which, ugh, but i can probably get my dad to pay it i'm very privileged with family to help me financially]
i honestly feel like 2 years of nursing school + the NCLEX prep course we had at the end of the semester has prepared me! but it wouldn't hurt to give it another weekish and actually bear down and study and focus. idk idk idk
#maybe ill take a few tests and see how i do and go from there#but i always got good scores on my practice tests in college that predicted id pass the NCLEX#considering saying yolo and reviewing some meds and giving it my best i'm a good test taker#in nursing school i would often not study at all until like 2 days or even the night before exam and i NEVER failed a test (below 75%)#so like i feel like i should have what i need to pass The Big One#i dunno!!!!

At The End Of The Road: First Chapter 7 Excerpt!
First little snipper of chapter 7 for y'all! And yes, we are finally back to Ponyboy POV. Spending these next 3 days cramming for my LAST EVER nursing school exam and then I am done! Graduation next week, then a month of NCLEX studying, during which I hope to have chapter 7 out during as I love to write on study breaks. In more exciting news... I am officially going to be a pediatric RN! I have an offer from medsurg and PICU (pediatric intensive care) and will likely be signing for PICU. It's a level 1 trauma hospital and the largest peds hospital in the state so lots of traumas, cardiac surgeries, neuro surgeries, rare diseases, etc. I love critical care and kiddos and can't wait to start learning!
Ponyboy
“What’s wrong?”
“Huh? Everything’s good, squirt.” He gave me a smile that was a little too tight. “How’s your head?”
“Don’t do that.”
“Do what?”
“Pretend to be okay when you ain’t.”
“Look who’s talkin’,” he teased, but his expression didn’t match his nonchalant tone. “Just kinda worried that Sandy’s mad at me. She ain’t answerin’ my calls.”
I furrowed my brow. “Why’d she be mad atcha?” I don’t know much about girls, but Sandy sure seemed nuts about my brother. She was always laughing at his jokes and looking at him with soft eyes and holding his hand and making sure everyone knew that she and him were a thing. And Sodapop never shut up about her.

Our Love Story: Don’t Lift A Finger, Love
Nanami Kento x Reader
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6
(Song Inspiration: Love Someone by Jason Mraz)
Nanami decided to go to your place after his shift. He was glad that he was able to leave early. He has been very grateful to Gojo and Geto since they offer to finish missions for him so he can return to you on time.
You and Nanami go back and forth to each other’s places. It started off slow, keeping a toothbrush in each other’s places after you fell asleep at his apartment after studying one night. He even bought you clothes, facial and specific hair products, toiletries, and even make up to keep at his place. And when Nanami finished his shift, he slowly brought his things over to keep at yours.
He did his normal thing when he came back. Shoes were off, blunt sword against the wall, glasses on the table, sleeves rolled up halfway, top buttons undone, and tie hanging loosely around his neck. He found you in your kitchen, studying intensely for your final.
You were busy this past month. In a few days, you will take your final and your ceremony was a couple of weeks later. You’ve been going to reviews for your NCLEX and tutoring for your sessions. Along with that, you still worked your full time hours at the hospital. He made sure he came back home to you. He made sure you ate, either bringing home food or cooking something he planned for you throughout the day. He did more than you needed him to do. But you knew that he would be stubborn to listen to you when you were swamped to take care of yourself. You always tell them you were alright before he starts doing what he was going to do anyway. You were slowly getting used to him doing anything and everything for you.
“Sweetheart?” You didn’t react. And when he walked closer to you, he could hear the music blasting from your head phones. He pulled it them off your head, making you jump. When you turned around, you smiled widely.
“Kento-kun! Did you just get back?” you asked. Nanami nodded. “How was work?”
“Good,” he answered and took a seat next to you. “Gojo-san and Geto-san took over my last mission.”
“They’re too good to you,” you said and kissed his lips.
“Are you working tonight?” he asked. You shook your head.
“I took vacation for two weeks.” Nanami smiled and you can see that he was relieved. He leaned in and kissed your forehead tenderly.
“Good,” he said. “You have been nonstop. As much as I want you to take a break, I love that your hard work is paying off. I’m so proud of you, sweetheart.” You just want to cry happily from his words.
“You really mean it?” you asked. Nanami nodded. “Okay, let me be for a bit. I’m almost done with these practice questions.”
“Okay, my love. I’ll make us dinner.”
He kissed your lips, yet your body felt frozen. You couldn’t help but let his new pet name for you repeat in your head. It was usually sweetheart, darling, or sometimes dear. Never had he said love. As you placed your headphones back on, you couldn’t help but wonder if there was more meaning to the name. It almost made it hard for you to concentrate.
You couldn’t stop smiling as you were studying. Nanami couldn’t help but do the same thing whenever he looked up at you. He feels at peace when you smile. Your smile is his favorite sight.
“Break time!”
“Food is almost done. I made katsudon,” he said. Your mouth watered. You’ve been craving it for a while now. You put your school supplies away in your living room. You entered the kitchen and started to quickly wash the dishes, but when Nanami saw what you were doing, he immediately wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you away. You laughed. “Do not lift a finger, my love. I want you to relax.”
You blushed as he brought you to the chair. You sat down and watched him prepare the dish. You watched his back as he was by the stove finishing dinner. You watched him turn on the electric kettle and setting up two tea cups and two teabags. You watched him set up two bowls and he walked over to you with a smile. The smell of dinner made your stomach rumble.
“Thank you, Kento-kun! You are seriously the best.”
“Anything for my girl,” he said and turned back around to grab the two tea cups. You patiently waited for him. Once he sat down, the two of you grabbed your chopsticks and ate. “Is it good, love?” You nodded.
“It’s amazing,” you said. “You make the best meals.”
“Is it missing anything?” he asked curiously. He takes your criticisms seriously. He wanted to make the meals perfect just for you.
“Not this one,” you said. “Maybe more onions but I also loooove onions with this dish.” Nanami took a mental note of it for next time. You looked at him. “But you don’t have to.”
“I want you to have the best,” he said. Your heart wanted to leap out of your chest.
“I love you,” you said.
You and Nanami froze. You quickly turned back around and took a sip of your tea. Nanami watched you, letting those three words sink in. He couldn’t help but smile. He placed his hand on your thigh which got you to turn around and look at him. Nanami stood up and cupped your face.
“I love you too, sweetheart.” You smiled widely. You grabbed his tie and pulled him in to kiss him. The kiss was long, tongues battling each other, with Nanami gently nibbling and sucking on your bottom lip. Once he heard your soft moan, he pulled away. He gazed at your dazed and soft eyes before kissing your forehead. “I love you so much.”
After dinner was finished, Nanami quickly took the bowls to the sink before you could clean up. He held your hand and lead you to the couch, telling you to relax.
“I’m not disabled,” you said, slightly teasingly. Nanami kissed your forehead.
“I know. I just don’t want you to lift a finger tonight,” he said, face stoic yet voice so soft it makes your heart leap with joy.
“Then in that case, I will shower and get ready for the night.” Nanami let out a small smile and kissed your lips. “You’re very kissy tonight.”
“You’re just very kissable,” he said. “Go shower. I’ll go right after you, love.” You nodded, skipping your way to the bathroom.
He found you in bed, laptop on your lap and your iPad filled with notes in your hand. He awed at the sight while leaning against the doorway after his shower. His towel remained around his waist. You looked up and turned to look at him. Your eyes widened and you blushed as you turned your attention back to your computer.
“Studying hard again?” he asked. You gave him a high-pitched hum in response. Nanami picked out his clothes and walked back to the bathroom to change. Your hand was on your racing heart. You let dirty thoughts consume your mind.
“Love, do you want tea?” he asked.
“I’m good for now,” you answered flustered. Nanami nodded and joined you in bed. He took his book from the nightstand and started reading. “So…what is it that you love about me?” Nanami placed a book mark in his book and closed it, putting it back on the night table.
“You being you,” he answered nonchalantly. He watched you react irritably with his reaction. He quietly chuckled to himself before pulling you closer to him, your laptop slipping off your lap and falling to the side of the bed.
“Now is not the time to be cliche with that short answer,” you said with pouty lips. Nanami kissed the top of your head.
"You're smart and beautiful. You prefer to be independent and I love that you let me in your life and allow me to help you. Unlike me, you like to go with the flow of things. You don't exactly plan things out and usually I hate that, but I love it with you. I never planned to keep you close in my life. I was just going to keep it at that after you bought me coffee and bread.”
“I honestly thought the same thing. Then you called me. Checked up on me. Why’d you do that?” Nanami shrugged.
“I felt like I had to. I knew I didn’t have to. With me being a sorcerer, I couldn’t let you in my life. But since I kept letting you in, I at least had to give you an option, right?” You nodded. “You make me happy. When I see you, I feel the tiredness go away the moment I see you smile. When I see you work hard, it makes me want to become a better sorcerer, that way I can protect you. I love everything about you.” You smiled. You held his hand tightly and rested your head on his shoulder.
“You don’t find me like I’m some kind of child right?”
“Not at all. Why? You think a five year age gap is too much?”
“I-I was just curious.” Nanami chuckled and kissed the top of your head.
“Your turn.”
“You’re a serious and stoic man with the biggest heart in the world,” you said. “When I talk to Gojo-san and Geto-san, they love talking about you to me. You’re so caring to the young sorcerers. You make me proud that you are one. You get to be their mentor and they get to fight in battle like you. And I know I never seen you fight, but I don’t have to see to know that you’re one of the best.” Nanami felt a burst of happiness when you said that. “And I love that you’re true to word and actions. You’re honest and loyal. Everything about you is just amazing.” You couldn’t keep his eyes off of him. Something about them sparkled. Nanami rested his forehead on yours, gently caressing your one cheek.
“Thank you,” he said and kissed you softly.

hiiii im a nursing student ^_^ does your job make you too tired/stressed to exist i havent even started clinicals yet
hiiiii!!! i hope nursing school is going well for you and i wish you so much luck in your studies!!!! 🫶🫶🫶
so full transparency is: yeah its pretty tiring and stressful at times. i work the evening shift (3-11) and most of the stressful stuff happens between 3-7 since everyone is still very active. from 8pm onwards things start to wind down and you’re able to catch up with any paperwork you have to do. the times i worked 7-3, i was so overwhelmed bc apart from passing meds, theres patients going to appointments, wandering around, having behaviors, etc. it was a lot to juggle. i def believe working evening/night shift is great to start off with esp as a new grad!!!! the first 3 weeks were hard but as you learn the routine and find ways that work most efficiently for you, it gets sooo much easier.
for me, i was actually most stressed with learning the computer program that we document on. other than our shift reports, theres lots of evaluations to complete, weekly summaries, orders to submit. its quite a lot to learn that they dont teach you in nursing school!!! but tbh around 2-3 weeks in you start rlly getting the hang of it :) i was not too worried about my skills bc the nurses i shadowed really helped me polish my skills (i had forgotten a bit bc i passed my nclex a few months after graduating)
my advice for you as a student going to clinicals is try to learn as many skills from the other nurses and CNAs at your facility!! i met so many wonderful ppl at my clinical facility who were eager to teach us :) ask many questions no matter how dumb you may think they are. i was a nervous wreck at my clinicals bc i did not know how to interact with patients esp as a huge introvert. i cried during and after my clinicals quite a few times bc my instructor was so mean and old and grumpy lmfao. but so many nurses are very understanding and kind towards students, they want you to be great and knowledgeable as a nurse too!!! i still remember the wound care doctor who was really nice and eager to instruct us whenever we shadowed the treatment nurse.
i feel like theres more i can say but this is already getting too long hahahaa

obviously im biased but i think if your hearts really set on it or even just considering it you could enroll at your community colleges associates program for nursing ^_^ im not sure how competitive they are right now because im going for a bachelors and not an associates but i can say from my firsthand college admission experience is that once you get in you reallt have to rush to put down that deposit fee so you don’t lose your spot . though i don’t want to sugarcoat and say it’ll be easy because it’s not it’s really hard and i can only imagine condensing four years worth of material into a two year program can be even harder ( nursing school acts as a functional way to prepare you for the NCLEX btw . you get your actual experience on the floors when you have a job and during clinical rounds . ) if you want a little slither of a taste of notes these were my cardiovascular notes

though im also really bad at keeping things concise so this one is probably a me issue . i do understand how the heart beats now though
Yeah the thing that stops me in addition to "gets squirmy around injuries" is "it's hard". There's a lot of things I've wanted to do in life, like I've joked before that if I was in a cartoon I would be a journalist by now because in 10th grade my english teacher was begging me to join newspaper club, took a career class and interviewed a local newspaper journalist for it and felt at home in the building, have had multiple community college professors encourage me to continue on as a journalist at the nearby [big university in Washington State] campus, that sort of thing where it looks like the dominoes are lining up. Or ever since I was a kid I've wanted to be a librarian but that requires a Master's. Or be a clown or actor but that's such a narrow field AND the social anxiety outweighs it now. Or zoologist/marine biologist/some guy studying animals but again, bigger degree. OH I forgot about psychologist when I was younger too. But yeah it's like so much time needs to go into these (okay maybe not clown) to the point I'm like "why should I try when I keep changing my mind" so I stick with my basic entry level manual labor job and hope by some miracle i save enough money to be able to live off savings with my besties in a house together
#asks for sky#mahkari#sorrh that got heavy i should probably go back to sleep since the pain meds are working right now#i will keep your words in mind though. i wish there was like. a trial class i could take to learn basics#i think in the perfect world my dream job is professional student/jack of all trades :)#i get to learn as much as i want and then bedazzle people with my knowledge. maybe even apply it when the time calls for it#and theres no expectations for me to turn it into a career because hey! my job is to just learn! yup thats perfect for me

June 5th, 2025: I Wanna Get Better?
For a while after deciding to go to nursing school, but before actually doing it, I listened to the song "I Wanna Get Better" by Bleachers quite frequently and sincerely. I think I was still drinking in slight excess of a moderate amount, but not smoking as much? If at all? And i felt that song in my soul or whatever, because I did really want to get and be better. I was discontent with my life, but had a plan on how to make it better.
Fast forward to the end of school, and I am generally quite content with my life with absolutely no plans to make it better. Well, no plans with any intention behind them. Yes, there are things that I ought to do to improve my life, but very little pressure to do them. Or very little perceived pressure to do them.
Here's a list:
1. study for the NCLEX, also check and make sure everything is in order. The problem is that it's very difficult to stay disciplined when sleep quality is poor. Therefore:
2. Cut back on alcohol, stop weed entirely. I've been drinking and smoking for the past week straight and it's holding me back. I wake up groggy and unmotivated to do anything, I rot in bed on my phone all day, the hour grows late and I've not done anything to tire myself out, and so I drink and smoke more in order to get to sleep quicker.
3. Regular sleep and dental hygiene. This morning I woke up and my mouth tasted like a corpse, and not a fresh one. How am I gonna go out and do shit when I've got a hangover and shitty breath? Speaking of which:
4. Go out and do shit more. Do more shit. whatever. I've got time. I've got money, not a lot but enough to not worry so much about recreational activities.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
June 6th, 2025: I Wanna Get Better.
Okay, so see last post titled "The Easy Way" or some shit, containing 1x Caffeine induced "I should" spiral with way more than 4 things. That's not the focus for this post.
I do want to get better. I do think it'd be a good idea to only allow myself to smoke/drink after completing 2x Practice quizzes, and also only after 5:00PM or something. I can hardly go around saying "it's 5 o'clock somewhere" if I don't even wait till 5:00pm to start drinking. Not that I say that much.
I do want to move out in 2 years at the latest. I do want to work in the ED eventually, because it'll be great experience.
...
So, what do? Today is gonna be the day that I turn it around. Not for the first time, and certainly not for the last time. I think this is just how I tend to live my life. It's not about one last big turning point and then my life will be good forever; It's about being willing and able to completely overhaul my life again and again each time I find myself dissatisfied with it. I will continue to push this boulder up this hill, and I will continue to feel many different ways about it. Some days I will resent the boulder, some days the hill. But whenever I find myself resenting the task, I need only stop for a moment and take inventory of how far I've come. Admire the view from where I've gotten, and dream of the views yet to come.
having to do absolutely insane senior nclex review modules that literally include slides like 'what is knowledge', 'how to best study in school', 'role of the nurse' and. god.
i deserve to have a sweet lil babe between my legs rn like... i'd MUCH rather listen to them choke and cry than this rehashing of basic knowledge
I took my NCLEX this morning. I am so afraid that I failed. I feel like I made simple mistakes because my brain just can't stop overthinking. It's weird I'm like not suicidal I feel just disappointed in myself. I feel like I didn't study hard enough. I know I have no one to blame but myself for the outcome. I'm also just disappointed that my family came to celebrate me and I couldn't do the bare minimum and pass the exam. Well I find out in 48 hours but I'm just so frustrated. How do I even study for the test. Why are tons of people saying it was easy but it was hard for me.
Change Your Career: Top CNA to LPN Schools for a Seamless Transition
Transform Your Career: Top CNA to LPN Schools for a Seamless Transition
In today’s fast-paced healthcare surroundings, opportunities for growth and advancement are abundant. For certified nursing assistants (CNAs) looking to elevate their careers, transitioning to a licensed practical nurse (LPN) role can be a stepping stone towards greater responsibilities and rewards. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the top CNA to LPN schools that facilitate a seamless transition, discuss the benefits of making this career move, and provide practical tips for success.
Understanding the CNA to LPN Transition
The transition from a CNA to an LPN position offers a variety of advantages:
so the tags on the last post brings up some very valid concerns about the state of healthcare workers but like. as a healthcare worker myself i wanna share my experiences in medschool.
the program i graduated in, graded purely only on test scores. any assignments they gave us usually was just some extra credit points on our next exam, or sometimes the assignment (if given remotely) only counted towards attendance. it didn’t affect your grade. and like tbh im not really sure how exactly ChatGPT is going to help you out on these exams, especially the NCLEX.
the NCLEX is an exam given to nursing graduates to test their clinical judgment, honestly i would say it tests how much of a safe nurse you would be. it gives you a lot of case studies and scenarios that you need to learn how to analyze, and know what your next move is.
plus AI could NEVER replace clinical hours. on rare occasions did they give us some remote learning clinical program, that gave a simulation with a patient scenario and it graded you based on the actions you did. and no that didnt even count into our clinical hours lol. we went to various long term care facilities, hospitals, and family clinics in order to practice procedures (with the assistance of an instructor ofc)
so uhh TLDR someone using ChatGPT in medschool likely will not get very far into their program when at the end of the day we are tested on our clinical judgement, that AI could never replace.
#istina.txt#now i will say there is a HUGE empathy problem in healthcare but thats a tangent for another day tbh#istina.rants#also i graduated with honors if thats relevant 🤓#also im aware not every nursing school is very strict#unfornately very many schools are very much profit first education second#im grateful to have gone to a very good school w excellent instructors
