Pattern Drafting is not a glamorous part of the Fashion Design process but it being expertly done is vital. Pattern Drafting is the math of fashion. It’s actually pure beauty! In college Pattern Drafting classes were always challenging, but I was so dedicated to getting it right that I excelled. Looking back, it was in those classes that I realized I’m dyslexic. Pushing through challenges I think can give us greater understanding of a subject - I’m a learn it the hard way kinda gal anyways! Now, after over a decade of Custom Fashion Design my drafting process is fluid and welcoming of a challenge - like fitting a growing baby belly for an expedited wedding dress! #DecoDayDreamDress was a super fun challenge that started with vintage components, moved through drafting and next I’ll show some of the draping!
