Culture presumes an environment in which deep attention is possible. Increasingly, such immersive reflection is being displaced by an entirely different form of attention: hyperattention.

When you're nuerodivergent but your dad made you watch videos on how to be likeable in middle school so you spend every day carefully and coldly calculating how to make people like you.
#this is also strangely the cause of most of my breakups#because at this point its compulsive but i am tortured by the fact that very few people truly know me#it also made me hyperattentive of whenever i say something embarrassing

Jason's love language is actions. Both grand and the smallest ones. He is the type of person who remembers the tiniest details about people he loves. He is subtle about it, in a way others sometimes fail to notice it.
He opens curtains when Dick enters the room because Dick can't functionate without sunlight, but he shuts him once Dick leaves, and Bruce settles down near because the old man's vision is too used to dark rooms and the natural light hurts his eyes.
Near the evening, he puts the jar of cookies from the top shelf in the kitchen on the counter because he knows that Damian sneaks one or two for himself before going to sleep. He always returns it back once Damian is in his bedroom, so Alfred wouldn't spend energy on reorganising the order of things back.
When Tim leans under the table to pick up something he dropped while they are sitting in the cafe, Jason's hand always hovers atop of his head, because Tim keeps hitting his head against the table most of the time. He puts a hand on the sharp corners of tables, too, just in case if Tim zones out staring at his phone. It happened far too many times.
Dick loves to concentrate on some repetitive motion, when he is nervous, but he is also aware that it looks obnoxious and people often get irritated at that; he also doesn't want to show that he is nervous around others. Jason keeps drumming his fingers if Dick is nervous. And if his breath calms down as he stares at his little brother's fingers tap some strange pattern, then what?
Bruce is paranoid, hyperattentive to sounds, but also awfully absentminded when he works. He is always aware of someone's presence in the room, but sometimes he dives too deep in case, not noticing people around him, and gets jumpscared for a second. He hates it. Jason is mostly as soundless as ever, but... if he always loudly stomps with his boots on the ground before entering the Batcave, then everyone is sure that he is just having another tantrum.
Does he get frustrated when family even mildly jokes (or actually criticise him, depending on the day) about how mean he is to them, and how little effort he puts in maintaining their relationship? Absolutely. Because half of them are detectives, of course, but when it comes to emotional connections and signs, they are... a little bit inept, to say the least.
(This was cooked yesterday in chat with my pookie, @ahoyimlosingmymind)
#Alfred absolutely gives the same energy back to Jason though#others have different love language but they try#Damian notcies Jason's efforts the most I think!#he also have the similiar love language just more awkward one#Dick is mixture of words of affirmation - touches - quality time#Tim is intellegence - quality time - gifts#Bruce too#Damian is about touches quality time and intellegence#i also think all of them can be acts of services but they just understand it very differently but i am not going to ramble about it now#anyway yeah#jason todd#red hood#dcu comics#batman#dcu#dc universe#batfamily#bruce wayne#batfam#dick grayson#tim drake#damian wayne

Hello, I saw your post about a yandere Benjamin Lemberk with an elf. It occurred to me if he could be the same yandere Benjamin Lemberk x reader with the appearance of Florentia Lombardi and a personality between Helaena and Gael Targaryen is autistic with ADHD and sensitive please
(Warnings: reader is mentioned to have a mix of ginger hair with a mix of reader's original colour and heterochromia with one green-coloured eye and one has your eye colour ||Florentia Lombardi! reader.
PLEASE forgive me for not getting things right..I'm a pretty neurotypical person and I have no idea what I'm doing. Tried to make it from whatever information I got from google. 2nd Warnings: non acceptance of mental illness, ableism, murder, mutilation, everything bad except SA and cannibalism, we don't do that. Keep in mind, I don't condone this and you're very much valid, Benji here is just an asshole, too much of a douche, sorry.. Again, sorry for any inaccuracies or anything, I got everything off of google)
© Writing belongs to me, Lxdymoon0357. Do not plagiarize, but reblogging, liking and commenting is deeply appreciated.
Yandere!Benjamin Lemberk HCs
◈ The moment Benjamin fell out of Claudia's circle, his eyes were left onto you. An eccentric, soft-spoken, hyperactive, restless little elf. Of-course in no way was he going to let you go. You're just the cutest thing ever!!♡
◈ He does find it a bit irritating how you hyperfixate on certain things, especially bugs and other things, can't you see he's doing things and going out of his way for you? He doesn't care if your autism or ADHD is the cause of it, stop being selfish!
◈ But depending on how much you behave regarding him, he finds you soft-spoken behavior appealing though he would have preferred you being a bit more like Claudia; bright and out-spoken.
◈ but your soft spoken and cryptic language speaking and non society conforming behavior, hyperattentive traits, stimming and all of it bothers people, so he's somewhat okay with it as long as people don't get too close, he doesn't want to kill as many people. Too much work in his eyes, but as long as it's for you, he'll do whatever you want!~
◈ He'll always be beside you if he can't keep you locked away forever, help you with societal cues and everything and kp your hyperactivities are bay, but not really, he doesn't really care if you end up annoying people away. I mean, it's only working in his favor.
◈ Always listens to you talk about your bug collection or new hyper-interest in whatever you have, the weird way of systemization and your intense routine you seem intent on following. God, you're so hot when you blabber about stupid things no one seems to care about to intensely!~
◈ But he does feel like you're going half-insane when you start speaking in cryptic language, your eyes may be pretty..but he can only sit so much before he feels like you're cursing him with your cryptic language, please.
◈ But you're not just some timid girl, your firmness and you do put him in his place, despite your soft-spoken, reclusive and sensitive, eccentric traits. You do have firmness and manners of authority in yourself. He does stop being so shitty to you and behaves better regarding your mental health.
◈ His jealousy issues are off the charts, keeps you locked up everyday..but in a way he lets you hyperfixate on all interests and burn out all hyperattentivity, impulsivity and keeps you so occupied your lack of attention on certain things and time blindness doesn't really matter.
◈ Lets you use his fingers for stimming or his clothes, he gets jealous of everything and anything. His clothes are very fancy, but sometimes too over-stimulating with heavy perfumes, rough textures and evn the way it can sometimes snatch on your own clothes with it's jewels and all..So there's that.
◈ But speaking of his clothes, you may get easily overstimulated by his clothes and sometimes even his presence, the fucker is very much in himself a asmr video of type. You may even end up maybe crying and he has to control the urge to really just burn his clothes right then and there so you would stop crying. He may be the biggest, ableist and even deny you your mental health..but the moment your mental health does affect you, he'll be dying to get it fixed. He may be an asshole, but he's only your asshole.
◈ But in a way, he also uses your mental health against you. Using anything that overstimulates you for keeping you chained down, though it doesn't work like magic..but you're more subservient when he does use anything that you get overstimulated by; heavy perfumes, weird textures, nothing to stim with, tight closed rooms, even if keeping your own hair down overstimulates you, he'll force you to not put it up in hairstyles, till you can behave atleast.
◈ One time he got into this dilemma with you where he came home to you with your autism and adhd battling against each other. Apparently you were trying to 'arrange' numbers (because everything you do is universally correct), but very time you did come around, your attention never stayed and you moved on. So you removed all distractions and started to again 'arrange' numbers correctly. But again, attention never stayed so you only sat there with nothing, you wouldn't move and wer adamant.
◈ He had never thought in his life that one day, he'd have to sit down with love of his life and the bane of existence to 'arrange' numbers by their 'correct' order because you wouldn't move otherwise and literally. It took seven hours because you two kept getting distracted by your conversations to 'arrange' around a hundred numbers from 0-100. He hopes you don't get the idea of 'arranging' numbers again for 0-1000 or something because their feeligns hurt they wer left out or something.
◈ But leaving that..If anyone, other than him at-least, dares to comment on your mental health in a way you don't like like babying you or refusing to acknowledge it's something you struggle with or literally ANYTHING he does, but it's someone else. He has a whole procedure; first he'll kidnap them, torture them to get apologies so loud, you can hear it from your own room in his manor and then once he's satisfied, he'll kill the person off..but not before mutilating and really using them as a dart board or disfiguring their faces to the point of non recognition of their corpse.
◈ Yeah, it's a lot being with him with mental illness and soft spoken and eccentricness. Him as a yandere is even worse than him with Claudia, which is already borderline yandere.

Wait what do you mean carmen and vi can't shortcut this is news to me— :0c
Is it because they haven't known they could do it or it's cause their souls got tampered to hell and back that they cant do it anymore?
The missing piece in this one is actually Gaster!
In (nearly) every other universe, Gaster ceases to exist, scattering everything he ever was or could be like dust in the wind, into the Void.
Which puts the things (and people) he left behind in an odd position of 'not supposed to exist.' But they do, and as load-bearing elements of the world--the CORE, Sans, Papyrus--they must continue to exist, even though the monster that made them is gone, both proactively and retroactively.
The universe abhors a vacuum.
So does the Void.
When Gaster ceased to exist, it left one such vacuum and the Void flowed in to fill in the cracks, like a kintsugi vase.
Most people lost memories, or found them altered to simply warp around the empty space Gaster left behind.
The skeleton brothers…discovered some new abilities.
But in the Fruition 'verses, none of that happened!
So Carmine (Underfell Fruition Sans) and Vi (Swapfell Fruition Sans) can't cut through time and space in the blink of an eye, and Tank (Underfell Fruition Papyrus) and Hunter (Swapfell Fruition Papyrus) can't look sideways at the world around them and perceive its building blocks to no-clip right through them.
Don't worry, they're still pretty, they have plenty of other stuff going for them!
Carmine, due to his…adjustments, generates magic at a ridiculous pace, to the point of being able to fire off bone-bullets and blasters seemingly bottomlessly.
He makes so much, in fact, that his extrasensory perception is through the roof and if he tunes into it just right, he can skim surface thoughts right out of peoples' heads--which you'd think would be why he seems to be so wholly, near-comically lucky, like he's just operating around the thoughts and intentions he's subconsciously gleaning from the people around him.
But no, that supernatural luck seems to be a separate Boon entirely, gut feelings and weird, off vibes that Just seem to come and go, steering him through and around trouble he'd otherwise walk into without that strange auspice. Eh, he doesn't question it much…
Tank is, of course, extremely strong, with more physical power at his disposal than any other monster he's ever heard of--even stronger than Asgore, and he's a Boss Monster.
His grasp on and control of magic is admittedly much weaker than it should be, but as a trade-off he's entirely immune to damage from intent, which is huge. A hate-filled blow that would dust another monster would only glance off of him, doing only as much damage as the physical power of the strike contains.
Not that he FIGHTs much anymore, but Underground he was an absolute powerhouse, reflective of his nickname. He never once lost an Encounter or let himself (or anyone with him) get hurt, moving through battles like he'd fought them a dozen times before, like he just knew exactly what to do and when. Oddly enough, Frisk had the same way about them, when they eventually fell down… Huh.
Vi, after Gaster's focus shifted to the stronger sibling, actually didn't undergo much Adjustment. He wasn't the central project, only a peripheral asset, so he wasn't much invested in. Still, he was practically born with a keen eye for detail, almost hyperattentive to outliers and discrepancies in data presented to him, making him an excellent analyst.
And even without enhancement, his ability to stealth and slip beneath peoples' notice is impressive, only more and more finely honed over the years. He can cross nearly any room without making a sound, utterly silent, and unless you're already looking for him, you'd never notice him in a crowd--whether it was a crowd of monsters or a crowd of humans.
And naturally, he has the patience of a god, a seemingly limitless ability to sit by and accept even the worst of circumstances quietly while he waits (read: arranges the circumstances) for it to change. Doesn't seem like a super-power at first, and technically isn't, but to actually see it in action, how calmly he can just wait…it's impressive.
By comparison, Hunter is a good bit flashier. He has been enhanced--stronger, faster, more durable, heightened senses and reflexes--nothing shocking for a monster, but certainly more than anyone else of his build and breeding would be capable of without significant training.
He even has a built-in poison resistance, shrugging off toxins that would knock out anyone else and walking away from poisons that could fell a Boss Monster with little more than a headache or a queasy feeling to show for it. Needless to say, even hard drugs and alcohol tend to barely make a dent in him.
But he wouldn't be much of a spy-slash-assassin if he couldn't also be stealthy, so he ended up learning how to suppress his LV. It's not something most monsters in a 'fell verse would even think to bother with--letting other people feel the strength of your magic and your willingness to kill is a great deterrent to being messed with, so why hide it? Why seem weaker than you are and let other monsters think they're stronger than you?
Obvious answer: when that's what you want them to think, so they'll let you get close, and so they won't think twice about being alone with you. :)

with your outfit drawings for the mystreet character. im so curious about with vylad having outfits for s2-s6, if you want can you expand upon on that?
I WOULD LOVE TOO >:3c
Long and Short of it is I've always hated how Vylad was there in Mystreet S1, PDH S1 and then he just... dropped off the face of the earth after that. It always irked me a bit when it would show Garroth and Zane having brotherly bonding moments (and trauma) and always having the thought of (Man wasn't there a third brother in all this?) there in the back of my mind.
I'm now going to do some little bullet points of my Vylads role in S2-6 but this is a great time to mention I've never seen past S4 so I'm running on Wiki Lore and the gospel of AO3 and @catzgam3rz; who collaborates (Read: Infodump and Ramble) on a hypothetical rewrite with me so it gets vague and murky for the later seasons.
S1:
Basically the same as canon (as in S1 is kinda just slice of life) but instead of Vylad just travelling around the world he is an off the grid hunter that wanders the wilderness all the time (The freak)
This is based on my very fuzzy memories of MCD Vylad always kinda just being in trees as he watched Lady Aphmau in the early seasons so I just put Mystreet Vylad in trees for fun this time
Has a vaguely similar relationship to his brothers as in MCD. in the sense it's better with Garroth and more strained with Zane
S2:
Goes to LLP with the rest of the main cast (which consists of the 11 big designs I made) because season 2 is not when you should be writing out characters Jessica
He wears little rainboots and unlike Laurance (Who FYI wears cowboy boots a majority of the time) the rest of the cast did not get him into flip flops before he went trudging into the ocean (again a freak)
I like to imagine that if any drama is going on in the story you could always see him floating around on an inner tube off in the distance
S3:
Again back to slice of life so he does a lot of shenanigans with the cast here
This is the season where the shadow knights feature but for the life of me, I cannot remember if Vylad was officially a part of them or not (And his Wikia is not even a paragraph~) But if it turns out he was there'll probably be more shenanigans around that.
He ends up leaving mid-season (Fall ish?) to go on a hunting expedition
S4:
Oh hey look Vylad is back because we don't believe in writing characters off with little rhyme or reason Jessica
Vylads hunting expedition ends up being in the same area as the lodge. and we all know nothing bad happens there!
there's now a little ski village downhill from the lodge which is where Vylad is staying at seasons start. He's good friends with a lot of the people there.
He's a werewolf now... Don't worry about it!
Oh, what's this? Is that relationship building between him and Zane on the horizon? Well, that won't hurt at all, will it?
AY:
A not-alone buddy comforts his not-alone buddy (I do not know much about Aphmau's Year but know it's short so that's all I got)
S5:
As he is a part of the Lodge crew he gets to go to Starlight!
Possibly is involved in a certain shenanigan with his brothers I'll be posting a comic about that in a few days
Get's lost constantly. Figures Starlight being an island means he can't really get lost since he'll hit ocean eventually and refuses to acknowledge how big said island is.
Doesn't float around like in S2 but you can still find him wading on the shore in his boots
being a hyperattentive freak, he get's some bad vibes from the island sooner than most
S6
Gonna be honest, me and Catz have not watched all of When angels fall but are planning to soon so I'll just leave you with the fun fact that all of my season 6 designs are supposed echo my MCD's designs for the characters (Since S6 is when it was decided hey maybe Diaries is really important here now)
TLDR: Vylad was shafted in Mystreet so I'm fix it

another drawing im not sure if ill ever finish. you can kind of see my process here lol. anyways this is frida vs leo from our sisters story!!
frida is extra serious but also extremely hyperattentive to posturing/lying (since she grew up around big mama), so initially she doesn't get along with leo who tends to talk himself up in an attempt to make a good impression. when they spar they actually get along the best, because they're both great at combat and respect each other wholeheartedly for it.
#rottmnt#rottmnt sisters au#a whole mini episode in my mind palace about frida and leo bonding sometime post frida adoption LOL#art

It's really crazy how Disney became a tour de force by emphasizing the value of art and offering good storytelling and hyperattentiveness to detail and constantly pushing the boundaries of what entertainment could be. Like they really earned their reputation fair and square, only to now go "Meh. We're too big to worry about any of that shit. You're getting Toy Story 5 because fuck you."

What agonizing mental torment to swim in: treatment or no treatment.
This is the biggest piece of dread for me in this tragic project. From the beginning, this all sucked. But even the surgery was something I took a deep breath about and took on. But this…this is unmanageable for me. I'm still in pain and handicapped from the surgery and now wrestling with this.
I am left with the decision of quality vs. quantity.
Fear and potential regret.
Poison in the form of hormone blockers in exchange for moving the needle 4%.
Not 40%, just 4%.
It will potentially buy me more time, but impaired and tortured time.
The anguish of trying to decide.
The same intuition that led me to the bilateral mastectomy says, “No,” to Tamoxifen. It says, “Wrong.”
Jeremy wrote me a love letter using my stats in the form of an infographic.
Not that the math is hard, but visuals are kind to my brain. My reoccurrence risk is 10%. I know some women would give anything to have my favorable numbers. Tamoxifen lowers risk by 40%. So in my case it would drop that ten percent to six percent. That’s not a big budge for wrecking my quality of life (and that of those around me) as well as my health. This is a ten year treatment.
I haven’t met anyone who was okay on this drug. I’ve heard of women who are lucky enough to only suffer hot flashes and brain fog. They are like mythical creatures, unicorns out there somewhere. My PT gal has met two. The women I do know are not okay, they sob telling their stories of losing their jobs because of the cognitive side effects, being unable to walk with the joint pain and atrophy. The fatigue leaves them unable to get out of bed, it decimates their sex lives. Most of them end up having hysterectomies, they become suicidal. I researched and found it’s so difficult to take this drug that 35-56% of women stop taking it and roll the dice. Instead they chose to have a life worth living and risk cancer returning.
I decided not to move forward with the “standard treatment.”
Strangely, it feels like I didn’t have cancer until they took it away. That’s when the fear came. Did they get it all? Am I a ticking time bomb? Will it come back and how and where and when?
The looming fear of future me being told, “You have bone cancer,” is heavy.
I already lead a healthy lifestyle so turning down treatment may seem like I’m not doing anything productive and protective. Fuck, I got cancer on organic, physically fit, hippie habits. But there are researched alternatives for breast cancer suppression, from DIM to Green Tea Extract (yes, I have two oncologists). I literally removed all the breast tissue possible. It wasn’t in my lymph nodes. And studies show exercise reduces the risk of any type of cancer returning by three times, so I’m taking that up a notch.
I’m left with the head space of wrestling with being at peace (stress is definitely not going to be helpful for my overall health). Any of us could be hit by a bus tomorrow. I’m searching deep and contemplating how to gently accept these gritty possibilities: I may not have as much time with my loved ones that I or they would prefer, or land in all the locales I want to travel to, make all the art I so desire to create. But isn’t it the case for all of us?
I have been given a solid gift of awareness of my mortality. You don't get that if you suffer a quick, untimely, accidental death. I want to continue to be hyperattentive and intentional. With this treatment, I would not be capable of being creative or grateful. If I forgo that treatment for all the reasons I already mentioned, I make space for other positive outcomes. My perspective has already been massively altered. I wish to be even more creatively productive and continue to envelop myself in this all-consuming gratitude. Everything is so poignant.
Setting my intention to tuck into a relaxed, constructive life.

🦦 Not really, or maybe I do, I don't know. I have some affection for Batfam, but my hyperattention is very low at the moment. 🦦 Anyway, it'll take a while to catch up on what's happening on your blog. 🦦 I don't know if it's because I can barely read English or I lack English-speaking culture, but could you explain to me what you mean by "According to all known laws of #batfam x child reader, there is no way a #writing prompt should be able to #pjsk fanart." 🦦 I saw that post many times and then on your blog, but I'm just lost. Help.

Entry #017
Planning and organisation
Living with autism can bring unique when it comes to planning and organization. For many on the ASD spectrum the structure is not just there to help, it's rather essential to us being able to function. Planning and organizing for me seems like it comes as a second nature to others, but for me it can be a true monster task. Not surprisingly, our brains process information differently, and this can make executive functioning, which is our ability to manage time, tasks, and decision-making, particularly tricky.
It is so difficult due to multiple factors, for example I suffer from sensory overload, executive dysfunction, hyper-attention to detail, memory issues and rigidity. Sensory overload makes it very difficult for me to focus on tasks when the environment is overwhelming, this can be the internal or the external environment. I need certain conditions to be able to focus or I will have trouble focusing or will be extremely quickly exhausted. Having hyperattention to detail can be a strength, it can also mean getting caught up in minor details and losing sight of the bigger picture. I can get caught up for hours fixing the borders of a document to one pixel, making it look perfect. Even though I get told that others won’t even notice it, I do, and it will get all my attention and give me anxiety if I don’t fix it. Keeping track of multiple tasks and deadlines can be difficult, I can think and ruminate about a certain task, but completely forget about another one. Even though I have nothing wrong with my memory, it’s partly because of the hyperattention to detail and knowing what is important and what is not. Knowing what is important and what isn’t, is part of the executive dysfunction.
Executive dysfunction is also managing time and tasks / goals, initiating and persevering tasks, flexibility in planning and multitasking. I have huge problems with time management, I honestly cannot estimate how long a task might take, because they most of the time are overestimated and on some tasks they are completely underestimated. Prioritising plans is also not my strong suit, I am keen to do the least important tasks first. Plus I am quite bad at initiating tasks and when I’m overwhelmed I have zero perseverance. Adjusting plans when something unexpected happens can throw me completely off, on a bad day it can throw me right into a breakdown.
I have developed certain strategies to manage my planning and organisation dysfunction. I’m not going to advertise that it fixes everything, because it’s always a work in progress kind of process and it’s different for everybody. But it all starts with self compassion, beating myself up for something my brain is just not wired to do isn’t going to help anyone. It’s okay if you are no planning guru. It’s okay if you can’t stick to your plan for a full week. Perfection isn't the goal here, you can’t live a perfect life and life is beautiful because of its imperfections. Celebrate the small successes. Because it’s amazing you pulled those small successes off. Applications are not my thing, I get overwhelmed by notifications and will be completely blindsided, they just don’t work for me. Maybe they do for you, then that’s great, but if you don’t see any progress or improvement after app #5, you can say it’s not for me and that’s okay. New apps that advertise with “get our premium subscription because we..”, I’d advise don’t and safe yourself from the disappointment. For me visual aids are a game-changer. Things like a whiteboard planner, wall-calendars, and bureau to-do lists can provide a visual representation of what needs to be done and when. They stay in your visual periphery and you will be reminded of it every time you walk by. Extra tools like color-coded schedules and charts can break tasks down tasks into smaller, more digestible pieces. Because breaking tasks into smaller steps can make them feel more achievable. Instead of writing "Clean the house," try breaking it down into "Vacuum the living room," "Dust the shelves," etc. This not only makes tasks seem less overwhelming but also gives a sense of accomplishment as each step is completed. Be aware that you don’t break them up too small, because then you might get overwhelmed by the task again. Also, you’re allowed to change your planning after you’ve started it, it’s not a fixed schedule.
Additionally, it could help to figure out what your natural routine is, because having a consistent routine can reduce anxiety and create a sense of order. Establishing daily habits can make the process of planning and organizing less daunting, reduce the cognitive load of decision-making and free up mental space for other tasks. Although, again, don’t put too much pressure on yourself here, it’s okay if you deviate from your routine. I’m also using timers to allocate specific periods for tasks can help with time management and help me remember specific tasks. It’s just a simple alarm that I also use to wake up, like a little nudge to remind me to cook dinner or start my bedtime routine. I also use The Pomodoro Technique, which involves working for a set period. Most of the time I use the formula 25 minutes work + 5 min rest and for each additional 5 minutes I take a minute longer rest and then taking a short break, this boosts my productivity. After four cycles I take a half hour break, or when I deviated from the 25 + 5 rest, I take the total work + rest as a break (so after four cycles of 35 + 7, I get 42 min rest).
Another thing that is really helpful, but I’m extremely bad at asking for is the support of others. It could be in the form of creating accountability, body doubling, literally helping with the task at hand, helping with creating order or helping with creating a planning. Figure out what your needs are, how you can find support from others, from who and dare to ask for help, support or advice. Most people are willing to help you. Also, connecting with others who understand can be incredibly supportive. Whether it's through support groups, online forums, or friends and family, sharing experiences and tips can provide both practical advice and emotional encouragement.
Remember, it's about finding what works best for you and taking it one step at a time. Everyone’s journey is different. What works for one person might not work for another, and that's okay. Patience and understanding, both from ourselves and those around us, are vital. It's important to celebrate the small victories and all progress, no matter how minor they may seem.

"..I wonder if people would consider me a workaholic, given the fact that I am at work more than anything else. Not because i am looking for promotions or that I am avoiding things, just that it has caught my attention for the past five years.
...the fact that I was given control of the project means that I can study into whatever has my attention, as long as it is relevant to my work. And thankfully most of my hyperattention subjects are."

[J]oking banter--rapid, witty, hyperattentive conversation that allows for what Stanley Cavell calls "continuous presentness"--is the central genre of screwball comedy sexuality. Cavell argues that screwball comedy conversation, "the conversation of love," performs the possibility of happiness in the couple's forging of claims and openness to acknowledgment of attachment, ambivalence, and presence between them, what amounts to a project of being together rather than of world-building. [...]
In ambivalence, we want and we don't want what we want. Or we want parts but not wholes and resent the added freight. Or we're averse to what we're attached to but can perform neither a reconciliation nor a cleavage. It can be a dramatic state but it's also likely to be a mess of loose live wires that's hard to put a finger on. [...] For any important object becomes a source of roiling, confused ideation about who's powerful and who's not, and what the potentials are for cohabitations of the world. Sometimes the internal clash comes from the inconvenience paradox of dependency itself, of needing people or a situation and hating to have that need. Then, being in relation, and forging attachments within it, both threatens and relieves us from our sovereign fantasies and states. The difference among the motives are delicate and vary. In [Last Tango in Paris], being game for sex, for joking, and for revolution allows the possibility of new social relations between beings who can bear it that relationality is always feeling out for form, for them greedily to manage conflicting assessments and aims. The "experience of continuous presentness" is endurable so long as the mode the couple finds for it performs an okayness with the insecurity of what's ongoing and the difficulty of taking things in without resolving into a drama of ecstasy or subordination and loss. Those dramas will always be there...
