After reading this post again and being reminded Emmrich places wards on the pantry door whilst Lucanis sleeps to keep Spite from possessing him and taking off and it just raises so many questions!!!

Do you think Rook would see the wards on the pantry door and be relieved he’s finally sleeping? Does this mean no one can access the pantry whilst the wards are active? Would Rook shoo away fellow lighthouse dwellers from the dining hall to ensure he wasn’t woken?

Can Lucanis get out when HE wakes up or does Emmrich have to come and wake him and let him out? Or would Emmrich merely be the one to let the wards down and send Rook in to wake him up or to deal with a pacing Spite? Or would the Caretaker warn Rook or Emmrich that Lucanis is stirring? I can’t imagine a man with a fear of enclosed spaces and being imprisoned in them would react well to waking up trapped in the pantry.

Could a mage Rook bring down the wards momentarily and stick their head in the door to make sure he’s still asleep, like a parent does to a sleeping child? Perhaps watching him a beat too long, enjoying watching his chest gently rise and fall, his eyelashes fluttering from dreams………….
