— a pair of troublemakers residing in your house; both of whom are (unintentionally!) dead-set on making themselves the death of you.

"I don't like your stupid, white hair."

"And I don't like your boring, brown hair, buddy."

"W-well... well, I don't like your ugly, doo-doo face!"

"Your mama does."

The two could go bickering like this for hours on end if you let them. What may seem to be a mutually digressive arrangement is actually an oddly adorable bonding in disguise. Satoru and your son put on a front of being annoyed at the other's presence, but you've never seen them apart for longer than a few minutes at a time. They've grown on each other; much like how moss grows on a statue that's been lingering out in the open. An indispensable cycle of life that's truly inevitable.

"No, she doesn't! She doesn't! She likes... sof- sofis... sofistogated guys."

"You mean sophisticated?"

"Shut up!"

You'd been terrified that your little one wouldn't have a father-figure to rely on anymore after you divorced your husband. However, it was something you had to do for his sake. The child deserved to live in an environment that wasn't always reeking of alcohol, where he wasn't subjected to the constant, drunk yelling of a pathetic excuse of a father who couldn't get his shit together and lazed around at home all day while you did all the work. If that meant that you'd have to raise him on his own, then so be it. At least he'd be raised properly. Signing those papers was, by far, the easiest decision you'd ever made.

"I'm not shutting up because a kid in clothes too big for him is telling me to."

"You... you're the one always wearing tight clothes around the house to impress my mama."

"No, that's because I'm ripped. Gotta show off what I've got. And your mama loves that."

"Oh, yeah? That means you show off your... your - um... ugly, doo-doo face!"

Would you regard it a miracle that Satoru just so happened to stumble into your life around that very time? Well, relatively. Meeting him wasn't something you'd planned, nor anticipated. The kind stranger who offered to pay for your order at a café a year ago has somehow, thanks to quite a romantic sequence of events, turned into your boyfriend; a rock to lean on for when you need the support. And, also, someone that your little one can look up to (with the fun, bonus benefit of the pair getting into silly, childish quarrels nine times out of ten). What is Satoru if not a three-hundred-and-thirty-six-month-old toddler, too? Puts your five-year-old to utter shame with the way he acts.

"Enough. Baby, we've been over this before. Behave."

"But, mama, he's being a meanie!" "But, babe, he's acting all pretentious."

The responses come simultaneously: one is high pitched and whiny, and the other is your son. Sometimes, you have to pause and ask yourself how you haven't gone insane yet. It's the love that keeps you from falling apart. How could you ever harbor any other feeling for these two, except for wanting to cherish them? You just... need to work on a pet name that doesn't apply to the both of them at once.

"I don't want to hear it. Sweetie, finish your lunch. And, Satoru?"

"Yes, honey-who-loves-me-and-my-'ugly, doo-doo'-face?" He's smirking, snickering, while saying this, the sly bastard. When will the pair ever relent on trying to one-up the other?

"Why have you got one of my hair ties on your wris- never mind. Don't forget to change the sheets in our room. I'd do it myself if not for the meeting I need to get to in an hour."

"Yes, ma'am."

Cue a tiny gasp.

"But, mama..." The voice of your little one breaks the peaceful silence at the dining table once again. His legs start kicking back and forth - a sign that he's growing restless - from the chair they're dangling off of. He's got a protest already forming up in that head of his. "Toru said he'd take me to the skate park today. And he promised to get ice cream after."

Toru, huh? That's new. You can't help the smile that paints itself on your lips. The two have been getting along pretty well, it seems, contrary to all the bickering they do. That's always nice to know. It's amusing to see the dynamic they've built. One second, they're riling each other up to no end, the next, they've already formed a secret alliance to go out and have fun together. How cute. "Is that so?"

"Mhm! So that means we need to leave riiight after I finish my lunch. Don't get mad, okay?"

It's the small things like these that warm your heart. Some sacrifices can be made if it's in regards to this adorable (step, even though you haven't married Satoru yet)father-son moment. The sheets are insignificant right now. "Awwh. Of course I won't get mad, baby. It's good for you to want to spend more time with Satoru. Isn't he a fun guy?"

"... maybe."

"Just make sure he's safe out there. Helmet and gear on at all times, no big ramps. And don't let him eat too much sugar. He'll get hyper. Once the rush dies down, he'll get cranky -"

Satoru's arm wraps around your waist before you can finish your sentence, pulling you overwhelmingly close to his frame. Instinctively, your arms move to wrap around his neck, just the way Satoru likes it. Oh, how he wants to just throw everything else out the window and drag you to the nearest room with a lock in place.

"You -" A quick peck to your lips, followed by a nibble on your bottom lip. "- worry -" Another peck. "- too -" Another. "- much." Then, an unexpected bite on the shell of your right ear. "I'd never allow myself to let that little demon get hurt; or hyper."

Large hands wander across the curve of your back, resting firm on your butt. Satoru doesn't want to expose your son to the way he's squeezing your plush flesh with his long digits, so he shifts to have your back pressed against the wall. A perfect opportunity to kiss you - which the man can't help but seize. What else is a smitten boyfriend to do while waiting for your son to get ready and come down from his room upstairs? Lips against lips until one of you pulls away for air. "He's safe with me, okay?"

"Okay."

"Atta girl. Now, you go to that meeting of yours. And, tonight, after we both get back- oww."

"Groooss! Don't kiss my mama, or you'll make her ugly! Like youuu!"

"Baby, no. Don't kick Satoru's ankles-"

"I'm saving you, mama."

HIS VACATION WAS supposed to be relaxing, yet he’s having one sided beef with his closest friend on instagram and causing a ruckus on twitter—and he just knew his pr manager wouldn’t be happy with him at all. but, he didn’t care as he laid on his back in the day bed in the airbnb charles rented out for the week. they found themselves in greece for this year’s break, but that wasn’t the only thing that was different.

charles’s girlfriend was with them.

charles of course didn’t bring her along without asking y/n if he was okay with it, to which he said that it was okay and that charles should invite her along. so, truthfully, it was his own fault. he loved alexandra, he really did. she was nice and the perfect girl for charles, yet he couldn't help the pit in his stomach that formed when charles said that he found somebody a couple weeks ago.

this trip wasn't the first time that y/n met alexandra. he actually really liked her and charles together when he first met her. but, a rock had settled in the bottom of his stomach. he wasn't sure why, but he knew it had to be there because of charles.

y/n had never questioned his sexuality, he was 26 for goodness sake. questioning your sexuality is for teens who fell in love with their best friend—at least that's what y/n thought. maybe he was being truthful or he just didn't want another thing to worry about along with his and charles's f1 careers.

he held his phone above his head in the air as he scrolled on twitter, pursing his lips at every post he saw that included either him, charles, or him and charles together. a knock on his door paused his doom scrolling momentarily.

"it's open," he called as he continued to scroll on twitter. he liked a couple of funny tweets as the door opened and charles appeared in his doorway—well, the airbnb's doorway if you want to get technical.

y/n turned his head toward the doorway and sighed once he realized it was the man he started one sided beef with just a couple of hours ago. "what do you want?" he asked, his voice venomous as he dropped his phone onto his bare chest. it was hot in greece, so he and the other guys on the trip practically lived in linen outfits, flip flops, and swim trunks.

charles scoffed a laugh as he stepped through the doorway and closed the door behind him. "what is wrong?" charles asked as he took a couple of steps closer to the day bed. he stopped just in front of the coffee table that held y/n's iced coffee that he hadn't touched since he got home a couple of hours ago—it sat in its own condensation and the ice melted, making it look like a concoction that a middle school boy would make with his school lunch.

y/n shook his head and feigned innocence, "i don't know what you mean. nothing is wrong." turns out his career choice was the right one because he was a terrible actor as charles raised a brow and looked at y/n like a parent who just caught their kid in a lie. y/n side eyed charles before rolling his eyes. "charles, i'm too tired for this," y/n groaned as he wiped his face with his hands, his knuckles rubbing at his eyes.

"do not lie to me, y/n," charles sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. y/n came to the conclusion that this was not a good look on charles; frustration. charles looked better when he was smiling and meeting fans. "you created unnecessary drama on instagram and twitter and now silvia is texting me to fix it while we're on vacation," charles rolled his eyes. he looked like he did not want to be there arguing with y/n, and neither did y/n.

y/n raised his hands in surrender, "hey, i didn't start shit. the fans pointed something out and then i played with it, nothing else! they read into our posts and i thought it was funny."

he did not, in fact, think it was funny, not one bit. he wanted his best friend back, yet his best friends attention was on his girlfriend and making sure that they stayed out of drama on the internet.

charles sighed again and he moved. he now sat on the coffee table in front of the day bed so he was closer to y/n's height and they were now face-to-face. "i get it," charles started, "alexandra is a new addition to the group, but that doesn't mean you get to be dramatic on the internet. it's frustrating for me and for our pr teams. you need to talk to me, y/n, instead of doing something stupid."

"but my reasoning is stupid," y/n said, now feeling like a child who's gotten scolded for something. "it won't make sense to you and it's petty and childish behavior. i don't want to talk about it," he was whining now, and he wasn’t sure where it came from. y/n doesn’t whine, he mocks and he yells, but he doesn’t whine.

"i bet you it's not that stupid," charles smiled comfortingly at y/n, trying to get his friend to open up to him as if they hadn't done this before. "come on, hit me," he laughs as he leans back and rests his hands behind him on the coffee table.

it was silent for a couple of beats as y/n thought about what he wanted to say and if he wanted to say it or not. his brain would sound like car crash after car crash if someone listened in. it was chaotic and he couldn't concentrate, so he just said words and hoped that they made sense and didn't make the conversation awkward.

"i think i like you."

well that definitely made the conversation awkward.

ღpairing; bf!San x gf!reader ღsummary; San has a work-wife, apparently. ღa/n; this is crack i think but its too funny not to post. If anyone is lost, watch this video :)

"Babe! Look at me," San pouted, utterly deflated in all meaning of the word. "Did I do something?"

Y/n, on the other hand continued on to buff her nails, not sparing the man on her phone screen even a glance. "I don't know," She shrugged, blowing off the dust.

"Did you do something?"

San did not like this. Whenever his girl got all sassy, he knew he was in trouble but if he showed it on his face, he'll only dig his grave deeper. So trying to keep up his poker face, he ran through all the things he did after he came to Chile.

Did he not kiss her goodbye at the airport? No, he can bet on his life that he did. Or did he not leave her with his shirts that look so comfy and beautiful on her? He counted everything he had packed and he's pretty sure he did leave her the hoodie he had worn and quite a lot of his shirts.

So what did he do? San for the life of him, could not tell.

He was about to say something when his hotel room door opened and barged in Seonghwa and Mingi like a bunch of toddlers.

"Y/N!" Mingi shouted, jumping. "How are you? We haven't seen you in a while!"

Y/n sat up straight on her chair, smiling at the two men that covered most of her screen. "Hey, Minky and Hwa," She waved. "I miss you guys so much!"

"Ah, my heart," Exclaimed Seonghwa as he dramatically put his hand over his chest. "I miss my baby sister so much."

To say San was hurt at his girlfriend's sudden change of attitude would be an understatement. He stared the screen, hurt written all over his face.

"So now you can hear!"

Mingi and Seonghwa looked at Y/n and could immediately tell the two were bickering. But that doesn't mean they have to leave. They're all family, and honestly, Y/n has built this sibling bond with the rest of the guys that she donesn't feel insecure or worried about letting them see her and San fighting. They're family.

"I can hear everyone, but not cheaters, San."

Her reply made all three of the men's jaw drop. Cheating? San? Mingi in a flash was holding San's collar. "San, you did what?" Disbelief and what is that, a little smile at the corner of his lips?

San looked at the two looming over him, confused and shocked. "I don't know, man!'' He reasoned. "Babe, what are you saying?"

Seonghwa on the other hand tried to suppress his laughter away from the frame.

Y/n leaned in closer and paused for dramatic effect.

"Why don't you know who I'm talking about? Do you not know who Yoonseul is?"

San blinked.

Oh.

"Girl," The word just left his lips in defeat and disbelief.

As soon as San spoke the other two couldn't hold it in anymore. They bursts out laughing, Mingi even rolling on the floor in laughter.

"Don't 'girl' me, Choi San!" Y/n said angrily. "You're clearly cheating on me with that vile creation!"

"Babe, c-calm down," San tried to mellow out his fuming girlfriend. "We can have a civilized conversation."

"Civilized conversation? What about this is civilized or gentlemanly?"

"Want me to pull out the receipts of you cheating? Here."

And she started.

"'Yoonseul, I'm so hungry' and the bitch responds: 'If you're hungry,, you should eat, San. Or should I cook up something for you or perhaps accompany you?'"

San tried to cover his face in embarrassment, his bandmates dying of laughter in the back probably does not help.

"'Yoonseul, I miss my wife,' nice coming from you, cheater, but i digress. Your work wife replies 'Oh I'm so sorry, San. But I can surely do something about it. Don't worry, San, I'm always here for you.'"

San tried to fight back this time around. "You can't blame me! I was missing you!"

"Firstly, shhh!" Y/n put a finger to her lips. "Second; You miss your wife and you come up with the genius plan of going to a god forsaken AI to help you. Genius!" She continued.

"And the infamous: 'You really worked hard today'..." She stared at San blankly before she continued.

"And your beloved wife says: 'Oh San, that is such a sweet thing to say!'" She even put on a really cheery voice to match, too.

"Alright, alright," begged San. "Babe, I get it. I ''cheated' on you with a stupid AI. Please forgive me, my goddess."

Mingi and his hyung were finally done laughing their asses off. Standing beside San, Mingi spoke in a tone of disbelief. "San, I never expected this from you. Cheating on my little sister? You horrible man!"

"Exactly!" Added Seonghwa from the side. "If I had someone as sweet, caring loving, thoughtful, pretty and absolutely perfect as Y/n, I'd never even look at someone else let alone a mindless AI."

San nodded. He was guilty but then he remembered something.

"Y/n...How did you get those texts from? I started 'cheating' after I came on our show and that episode showed only the last one."

Y/n shrugged. "I have my connections."

A choked cough from Seonghwa told San of the culprit.

"Hyung!"

"What!?" Seonghwa screamed back. "Gotta let homegirl know everything."

"Bye, Y/n or else your buff man's gonna plummet us to death!" Mingi laughed, sprinting to the door.

"All hail the bro-code!" Seonghwa added, running out as Y/n's chased after the two.

Toeing open your front door, you sigh contentedly. It's the first evening this week that you have something to look forward to, and it's giddy, the feeling you get.

The texts you exchanged with Spencer pop up when you unlock your phone, and you smile dopily at it. The first was sent two hours ago:

SPENCER!: Just made it back to the office. We'll be here for a little while. Can I go over to your place afterward?

And then, ten minutes after the first one:

SPENCER!: I hope it's okay I asked that. I haven't seen you in a while.

You had texted him back immediately, giving him the go-ahead to meet you at your apartment when you got home, and now you can't wait, busying yourself with chores to make the time pass faster.

You're puttering around your kitchen when the three distinctive knocks that you've come to recognise as Spencer's ring out through the space. Opening the door, a smile creeps onto your face at the sight of him.

He's clearly frazzled, hair messy and shirt wrinkled, but he looks so soft. You can't help but reach up on your toes and press a kiss to his cheek, if only to see the flush rise up his neck as you do so.

"I missed you." You lead him into the living room, watching him set down his go bag and look down at you.

"I missed you too. I'm glad... Glad I could come see you tonight."

A thrill runs up your spine at the sight of him, standing in your home with no (okay, maybe a little) nerves. Every time you see him here it feels like the space bends around him, inviting him in until it feels like he belongs here.

Grabbing his hand, you pull him down to the couch, sitting next to him at a calculated distance. Not too far where you can't touch him, but still far enough that your brain won't be overwhelmed by his proximity.

You're little apprehensive, the first time you see Spencer after some time apart, wondering if the chemistry between you would fade after the distance. However, you're quickly proven wrong, conversation flowing so freely that it takes a couple hours for Spencer to remember what he wanted to do when he got here.

You've both shifted, your feet tucked up under you and your side pressed against his, when he finally remembers, straightening up against you.

"I have something for you!" You look up at him quizzically, confused at the suddenness of his comment. He holds your shoulders gently (albeit with quite a bit of blushing), angling you so that you're not leaning on him anymore. It allows him to stand up, rifling through his leather satchel until he finds it.

It's a small cuboid package, wrapped in brown paper. You shift on the couch, setting your feet on the floor so you can look at him as he settles next to you again.

"What is this?" At the sound of your words, he presses the package into your hands.

"When we finished the case, Elle showed me a bookstore near the precinct that we were at. I found some books I was looking for, and also..." He trails off, gesturing at the package in your lap. "Open it."

As you carefully unwrap the paper, you can see his hands fidgeting in his lap, sending a rush of affection through you.

"Spencer, you really didn't have to get me anything, I'm just happy you're- oh my god." The paper pulls apart to reveal a clothbound copy of Emma by Jane Austen, your favourite book of all time.

Running your hand over the beautiful book, you look up at him, eyes full of emotion.

"You got this for me?" He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.

"You showed me your copy a few weeks ago, and I thought you'd maybe like a hardcover as well. I don't know, I just saw it and thought of you. Is this too much? I'm sorry if I'm coming on too strong-" He's cut off by you throwing your arms over his shoulders, tugging him into a hug that attempts to show him how much this means to you.

You've only been dating for a few months, and you'd mentioned the book only once, the first time he came over to your apartment. You can recall the delight in his eyes when he saw the well-worn paperback that sits in prime position in your bookshelf.

It's overwhelming, the thought that he remembered that detail for so long, that he thought of you when he was out for work, that he bought it for you when it wasn't an occasion or anything. You can only bury your face in his neck, murmuring words into his skin.

"It's perfect, Spencer, thank you. You're perfect. God, I missed you."

You can't see it this time, but the heat of his skin against yours tells you that he's blushing again, even as he brings his arms up to wrap around you.

"Come on baby!" Chris pleads. "Let's go out tonight, just me and you! We can go to the movies like you love to."

You smile, "Okay, yeah!" And reply, walking over to the wardrobe you share and getting out your clothes.

"You almost ready?" He shouts to you in the bathroom, tying up your hair.

"Yeah." You say, stepping out.

"You look very pretty." He smirks.

"Thank you." You reply with a smile now painted across your face.

At the movies, you go to sit down and find the best seats, while Chris gets the popcorn. You slump down onto the old, worn leather seats like always, and Chris comes running up the stairs to you, almost spilling the popcorn.

"Did it start?" He asks

"Not yet it's still ads." You reply impatiently, throwing a piece of warm buttery popcorn into your mouth.

Your head turns at a stomping noise, someone coming up the stairway toward your seats, realising who it is you mutter under your breath "fuck.. not this bitch again.."

It was Chris' 'girl bestfriend' Lola you hated her, and you usually like most people, but fuck, you could just tell she fed off of drama and wasn't happy about you and Chris.

In fact, you'd heard from another one of his friends that she used to have a crush on him and probably still does. She only irritated you because of how she would talk to him and touch him, right in front of you.

It's as if she was taunting you and stroking your boyfriends arm just to piss you off. You weren't a super jealous person, but when it came to this girl, you wanted to litterly slap her every time she talked because your boyfriend, Chris, being the sweet gullible guy his is, just didn't pick up on her bitchy behaviour.

"Heyyy Chris!" She screamed, running up to him. You rolled your eyes, watching her run.

"Oh hey." He replies, smiling politely.

"I haven't seen you in forever!" She squeals.

"You saw each other two days ago.." You scoff at her.

"Well, it feels like forever cus I just miss him sooooooo much!" She says in a baby voice,

You roll your eyes harder than before, to the point they can't go further back into your head.

"So, since we're all here, can I sit with you guys?" She asks.

"Sorry, Y/n and I are on a date, so it's kinda just us this time." Chris tells her.

"Chris! What the hell. You don't wanna hang out with me?" She says, pouting like a kid.

"That's not what I mean, I'm with my girlfriend right now." He explains.

"Wow, okay, so you prefer her over me now?" She whines.

Suddenly, your ears tune into this conversation more, you want to know what Chris will say about this.

"Well, no. That's not - what I mean..but." He stutters.

"So I can sit with you?" She mumbles, trying to give him puppy eyes to convince him.

"I guess so.." he gives in, not wanting to decide between his girlfriend and bestfriend.

"Wow..." You whisper to yourself, in disbelief, he just let her ruin your date like this.

You watch the movie, but your face is burning up with anger the whole hour. You barely even focused on the movie, just stared at Chris and Lola (his 'girl best friend') , watching her talk to him the whole time.

At the end of the movie, you get up quickly and rush straight out of the dark theatre. You don't even want to talk to Chris. You just wanted to go home.

"Y/n! Wait up." He shouts at you, but you continue to walk away, ignoring his multiple shouts.

You hurriedly climb into your Uber. Tears building up in your eyes, this is the fourth time this has happened, Lola loved to show up whenever you saw Chris, it wasn't fair, especially because you had to travel for your work alot, she could see him constantly but you couldn't.

It scared you that Lola was around him so much. It was so obvious to you that she liked Chris, but he was certain she didn't.

You couldn't take this anymore. You sit in the back seat of your Uber, shaking, with tears streaming down your face, your mascara leaving black stains as you wiped it on your jacket.

You got home, opening up your phone to missed calls and texts from Chris.

Your mind was spiralling, you couldn't decide what to do, you wanted to text him back, but you were so tired and drained you ended up falling asleep on your bed, as soon as you led on it.

In the morning, you woke up to the loud echoing ring of your doorbell, and you walked over to it, opening up the door to see Chris standing outside it.

"Hey, Y/n, I wanna talk. I don't get what happened last night." He mutters softly, in an apologetic tone.
