I'm rereading some of my old stuff (Why write when I can just reread stuff I already finished 🤣), I wanna explain to you guys about Vil's fear of swans that I gave him.

Within my canon, Vil and Neige knew each other in childhood when they were both budding child actors. They were on more decent (less boiling homicidal) terms and would have probably become good friends if things were different.

But they were cast in 'A Swan's Lullaby' (fake story). The story of a Swan prince being switched every night with a doppelganger by a trickster fae. Neige was very excited since it was his first big motion movie to act in (he was also excited to try being the same shade of blonde Vil was to make them look more alike).

But sadly, the animal handler was not good at his job and the swans on set were constantly agitated and breaking out of their areas. One instance, an aggressive swan attacked Vil while he was having a break with Neige. Everyone panicked and it took literal minutes of Vil wailing on the ground being bit and wing slapped before Neige managed the sense to kick the swan away.

Vil's dad pulled him from the movie instantly because he's had MULTIPLE complaints about the swans and how the animal handler wasn't doing their job properly. Now his son was attacked, yeah no, Vil Schoenheit will not be acting in your movie.

Neige wanted to quit as well, but he was the breadwinner of his family of orphans. He couldn't risk potential setting back his career since they needed the money. This was Neige's breakout role that catapulted him from a new D list child star to the media darling he is today.

Vil is much better about swans than when he was a child. He went from outright terrified of them to "Get this honking rat away from me". He outwardly holds a great dislike of them, but if more than three are around him, he will start shaking a bit.

Neige is aware of this fear and actually gets pretty pissed if people joke about the incident or compare Vil to a swan, even as a compliment.

I may do this more. Gonna make a new tag called World Building. It'll have things about my Twist canon and various funfacts I've crafted about the characters.

If you aren't counting those comics I drew as fanart for my friends' fanfic, I think I'm most proud of these three:

1/ [DOPPELGÄNGER]

My biggest fancomic project to date, which I think most people can't quite understand right now, and they keep a cautious "wait and see" approach 😂 Because every time I updated, there was a spike in new followers, but notes on the post itself is quite low compared to my other short comics.

At least, my test-readers, aka. my friends, who has read the rough draft of this story, told me it was interesting enough 😳 I believe in them. Well, even if no one else likes it, this is a challenge I'm doing first and foremost to entertain myself, so I'll see it through to the end no matter what.

2/ [The Adventure of the GREAT L❤️Y SHIP]

This one was just a lighthearted idea I got after reading many fellow shippers' lament about the TwiYor drought back then 😂

It has 3 basic concepts "tiny TwiYor boat in the middle of nowhere", "Loid sleep on Yor's lap", and "Yuri, Franky and Loid being a pain in the butt to each other". I think I manage to portray all of them clearly enough.

I'm very fond of this carefree Post-Reveal!AU, where nothing will ever go wrong, I have ideas for 2 more stories, one about Yuri and one about Handler. Maybe even one for Franky someday 🤔

3/ [Comfort]

Well, this spot is a toss between this one and a new trilogy comic which yet to be drawn. And the tag said "work I have done", so I choose Comfort instead. And I have no clean-enough pics of the trilogy at all is also a big factor 😂

This one is my most well-known and most stolen piece of work, only the "Bond nap" comic comes close enough. The original draft only had the 2 panels above, the rest are just for the purpose of leading up to them.

Funny enough, like a signal, every time I log into tumblr and see it climbs back to the top post position in my activity and not my other recent posts, I get a feeling of "ah, people get bored already, it's time to make something new then" 😂

Aganim stormed into the room where Twilight was ‘studying” under the watchful gaze of Zant with a handful of other eldest children looking to be scouted for Dink’s latest ‘hero program’.

“You!” His brother's handler seethed as he took in the room and found Twilight.

“Yes, Sir?” What had Legend, or those other two kids done? Aganim was a pain at the best of times but most of his incidents with his brother had been things Legend had actually been doing...just luck was on his side and the stupid prick that was his ‘handler’ couldn't prove it.

“Don't you ‘yes, sir’ me as if you didn't already know...”

He hadn't seen his family in days. He'd come home late, left early, all of it in the name of this stupid program he didn't even want to be a part of.

“I'm sorry. I really...” Aganim gave a scream of rage and stormed over to Zant, snatching Zant's fob and triggering the shock to course through him.

“Your family has been a thorn in my side for years.” Twilight was thrown out of his desk with the long shock and lay there panting as Aganim screamed. “So good, so outwardly compliant, but scheming and sneaking around and defying everyone...” Another shock, just a short burst. “And everything.” Another burst, longer and if it wasn't for it locking up every muscle including his lungs, he would have screamed.

“Your brother may have weasled away like the rodent he is, but now all of you scum are on the kill list.”

Zant was screaming about not using the shock again, but Aganim just shoved the man away.

“You, your brother, your mother, all of them...” Aganim triggered another shock, and another punctuating every word with a burst of electricity. “They will all pay and in the meantime, so will you.” And somewhere under this constant barrage of shocks, Twilight blacked out.

It was damp and cold when he awoke. He was on the ground? He was abruptly shot from dizzy incomprehension to full awareness as he felt someone trying to remove his jacket. He snarled, a very wolf-like sound despite his hylian form.

“Ooh, so scary. You think you're one of those super-hero types or something?” A woman’s voice spoke from the reaching hands he'd grabbed to try to defend himself. I thought you were dead when they threw you down here with us...” there was an almost deranged giggle. “I was gonna help you if you were nice, but I don't need you to snarl and snap at me.” A teenager like him sat on the other side of the bars of what seemed to be a cross between a sewer grate and jail bars. It certainly explained the damp, and the smell.

“What's your name, Beasty? What made the supers throw you down to the Twilight Realm with the rest of us?”

“Dusk.” He wasn't sure what made him give his hero name rather than his given name or even his nickname. “Call me Dusk...” He coughed, sat up, found that he still had the cursed shock bracelet on, though his tracker had been smashed.

“I think I prefer Beasty, it's certainly more fitting of the way you snarled and snapped at me...now, can you stand? Or do you want to catch pneumonia down here in the dungeons?” He groaned, but got to his feet. The snarky woman who'd been talking to him was... very short. She came barely up to his hip. He knew his father had been fairly tall but at seventeen and still no where near breaking five and a half feet, it seemed he would be closer in stature to his grandfather than his dad. It was strange to be so much taller.

“Who do I have to thank for the rescue?” His voice still sounded shot.

“Midna Twili, but you can call me Princess, okay, Beasty?”

Welcome to my little corner of the universe!! Happy to have ya!!

My name is Felix! Short for Felixian, long for Ian. You can call me any of the three, but I'm most used to Felix. I'm a trans guy who uses he/they/it pronouns!!

My persona (and IEYTD fan character) is Agent Felix! He's an agent-in-training with no handler, and is mostly working at solving stuff without using technology. He used to work for Dr Zoraxis in that field, not really caring if he got paid or not since he was doing what he loved. Eventually, he turned to be a reformed villain after hearing about Agent Pheonix's work. He's pretty gullible, and could switch back to the evil side if persuaded enough, but since he constantly wears an agency t-shirt he'll stick with the agency for a long time. (The agency knew they could manipulate him into staying for that reason.) He doesn't have a handler- in fact, he's been mostly self-training since everyone's kinda scared of him. (He has REALLY sharp teeth and can't bite anyone because of that. He has bit people in the past out of reflexes. He's working on it :D ) He's startled really easily and can barely remember simple things- he jumps at any loud noise, forgets where he puts his shoes, etc., yet somehow he remembers where people leave their stuff and forget. He's really helpful like that. He's always loved helping people, good or bad. He doesn't have telekinesis... yet. He's trying to replicate the kinesium device implant so it can be used for new agency members like him. He's also trying to figure out a safer, less terrifying way for it to be implanted.

By the way, if Felix hugs you then you are special to him in some way!! He loves hugs but is generally touch-repulsed UNLESS he really wants to hug the person. So it's really rare for him to hug anyone. Congrats to anyone he's hugged already!

Agent Felix is basically just me as a goober agent!! So please be nice!! If you're mean, we'll probably take it as a joke or something-

-He's a teenager, but the agency has no idea. He was known by Zoraxis and his operatives as the Teen Prodigy. Sometimes used as a compliment, the rest of the time used as a spite name.

-Self-taught in everything he believes he needs to know- science, math, art, English and Spanish. Science includes all forms of science but mostly geology, technology and psychology. He loves researching mental disorders, for some reason. (Some of the things listed were taught by Zor himself.)

-He also loves playing piano! He overheard someone playing it when he was about six years old and managed to convince them into giving him lessons.

-He's very sensitive to sound so it's likely that if an alarm goes off he'll just be stuck there covering his ears.

-He loves singing, too! His voice is high-pitched and gives him disphoria pretty massively, so he sings to relieve it. (He loves his singing voice!)

-The Death Engine actually traumatized him. He refuses to talk about it :')

-He's very weather-sensitive. As soon as it gets colder than usual he'll be wearing clothes for winter while it's only fall. He'll keep that outfit for a few months then switch to something less heavy. Same for summer- as soon as it gets hot he'll be in short sleeves and shorts, maybe flip flops if it's 5⁰ above normal. Then he'll ease back into regular clothes.

-He's the reason why Dr Zor is evil

List of Current Klive Projects

So I have waaaaay too many unpublished WIPs in various stages of completion, from just plot bunnies, to complete outlines, to partial chapters, to almost completed fics, lmao. Currently my main focus has been If It's Not Love (Then It's the Bomb) with some oneshots or short multichapter fics scattered. However I've just started posting the follow-up to my Hitman Five fic (Kill Me Twice), Let Me Tear You to Pieces, which is going to be multichapter, and later this month or next month I'll be posting something else--but what that is remains up for debate, as I'm spoiled for choice on what to work on.

The question I have, I guess, is what of my 9 billion ideas sounds most appealing to others. So poll time! Here's a brief(ish) rundown of my various projects for Klive. Take a look and tell me what you'd most like to see!

*Accidental Sugar Daddy AU (~50k ish?) Season 4 AU where the rest of his siblings are making lives for themselves without their powers, but Klaus has no idea what to do with himself. Luckily for him, Five is more than happy to take care of him in the meantime. But as Five goes to more and more extravagant lengths to keep him happy, Klaus feels like he should be giving something back. And when Diego jokingly calls him Five's Sugar Baby, Klaus can't stop thinking about just how he could show his appreciation. Basically Didn't Know They Were Dating followed by Mutual Pining While Fucking, Misunderstandings, Angst, and a delightfully cheesy Happy Ending :D

*The Professional Cuddler AU (likely ~20k) - Ben is a professional cuddler who has an emergency and asks his BFF Klaus to take his appointments for him one day. Five is a maladjusted, touch-starved little psycho and his BFF Viktor buys him a session with a professional cuddler to see if it might help. *Danger Days AU (multi-chapter probably in the 75k+ range) Set in the Danger Days universe (from My Chemical Romance's album/videos/comics), Reginald rules the world and various of his adopted children run major cities. Five runs Battery City, with the Handler training his SCARECROWS. Five ends up with a new sexbot that doesn't behave like bots are supposed to, but as angry as it makes him, he's not about to return the bot... Klaus, meanwhile, is a top of the line, self-aware, true AI and secretly working with the underground, sending info back to Diego and Lila, and trying to find out where Reginald's last son, Viktor, has disappeared to.

*Time Travel What Ifs # 1 (multi-chapter ~25-50k) When Reginald throws Klaus out of the tunnel in season 3, he doesn't manage to die in time before the Kugelblitz gets him...and he wakes up back in the season 1 timeline, tied to a chair in Hazel and Cha-Cha's motel room. Klaus sets about fixing the timeline in a decidedly Klaus way, much to the bafflement of his siblings who wanna know what the hell happened to change their brother so dramatically overnight. (Also, Five keeps walking in on Klaus in various stages of undress. This is not essential to the plot, but I do adore it :D)

*Time Travel What Ifs #2 (probably a fairly porny oneshot ~ 10k at most??) Five's equations end him up in the mid 00s in a hot young 20-something body. 15 yo Klaus is super fucking into it, and trying to seduce Five, while Five tries to resist. He eventually fails to resist...

*Mob AU (?? 15-30K ish??) Psycho Mob Enforcer Five is the Boss's favourite, but has to leave town a while to lay low. Upon coming back and he takes a special interest in, and starts stalking, the Boss's newest sidepiece Klaus. Klaus is, predictably, super into it (and all the glorious fallout of that relationship when Five's not willing to share with anyone, boss or no...)

*Old Man Five/Hooker Klaus (25-50k) Old Man Five hops through the timeline trying to help improve his siblings' lives, even if they don't know it's him. When he gets to Klaus, he figures some money could improve his situation, but Klaus is disinclined to take money without providing services in return...Five doesn't mean to fuck his brother, but once he gets started, he's not about to stop. Klaus becomes his kept boy, and Klaus, despite the fact that he doesn't know much about his mysterious benefactor who disappears for long stretches of time, starts to fall in love. Except then Five disappears for good (after the Handler threatens to kill Klaus if Five keeps going back). Upon returning to his 13 yo body, Five doesn't want to tell Klaus the truth, assuming he'll be pissed to find out it was Five all along. But then Luther, the only one who's seen Old Five finds a photo of him in the background of some major historical event, and upon seeing it, Klaus blows up like wtf how could you not TELL ME??? and there is DRAMA and a fair amount of angst, but an eventual happy ending.

*Daemon AU (a la His Dark Materials; 10-20k ish, oneshot-ish, probably with other short one-offs in same ' verse) I have SO MANY FEELS ABOUT KLAUS' DAEMON OKAY??? And I don't want to get into them too much without being spoilery. But basically some vague timeline what timeline where they avoid the apocalypse and still have their powers and settle back into the manor. No one has seen Five's daemon since he returned to their timeline, leading his siblings to believe she must have been severed from him. No *humans* have seen her, but Klaus' daemon has, and the two of them hang out a lot. Meanwhile Klaus' daemon is as much of a mess as he is, thnks to various experiments Reggie performed, and of course the issue of what becomes of the daemon of a person who can die and return to life, when upon death, a daemon becomes Dust? Basically these two have some fucked up issues that are reflected in their daemons, which leads everyone around them to jump to conclusions. But mostly it's a really soft, romantic fic, of Five's daemon taking care of Klaus and Klaus taking care of Five, and just...lots of feels guys, okay?!

*Meet as Teens AU (25-50kish) Cancer Patient Five's family move to America for treatment. In the small town nearby, he meets Amish Klaus, who works at his family's market. Five's going through a bit of a rebellious phase (facing some really bad odds with his cancer) and Klaus lives on the fringes of his society, an outcast because of his weird abilities. Of course they gravitate towards one another, but when Five gets bad news after his most recent round of treatment, Klaus decides to visit the Girl and ask for a favour. *Commune AU (under 20k oneshot/maybe several short ~2-5k ficlets) Instead of selling Five when Reginald comes calling, Efa, whose family has a plot of land, invites other mothers of the powered children to drop off their babies if they don't want them. And if you want your baby but can't keep them because of shitty family situations, drop yourself off, too. Basically some of the moms stay and together they raise and teach and train the children together. The kids grow up happy and moderately well-adjusted and Reginald gets none of them, the dick. Five and Klaus are good friends, but then genius Five heads off to university pretty young, then a year of study abroad, and they mostly only keep in touch via mail. Five comes back from his study abroad to find Klaus has finally moved off the commune, and when he mentions not wanting to live in the dorms next semester, his mum mentions Klaus having space in his apartment. The last time Five saw him, Klaus was still that sort of wary, fluffy farm boy. But then Five walks into Klaus' gallery and both of them are all "oh no he's hot." Klaus is all cool and sexy and tattooed, and has all these friends and Five's despairing "what is he going to see in me, his square, nerdy friend." and Klaus is all, "ugh, Five is so hot and serious and he must think I'm so immature and stupid"

IDK if this will get any response whatsoever, since Klive fandom is so small, but I figured I'd try!

Project Updates - Aug 6, 2024

Back at it again! I'm hoping to get these devlogs up to at least once a month, if possible, assuming I can keep up this kind of pace with coding. Updates under the cut~

SWN GM Tool

When I decided to update my project list, I said I was moving my old SWN GM Tool down to a sort of backburner status. It felt a bit like the end of an era; the GM tool was my first real personal project that I had started after college and had been poking at it for the last ten years or so, so officially putting it on hold with a desire to come back to it one day was a little interesting.

Especially since I started working on it again that very same week.

I decided to start the whole project over, essentially, and use this as an opportunity to learn to use Godot more at the same time. Within a few days, I had made a simple Faction creation widget as well as a list of factions. In a week, I had a mechanism for saving that faction list to a file and loading it back up as well. All in a simple application made with Godot UI nodes!

I haven't touched the project again in a little over a month, now, but I'm feeling very good about returning and working more on it. Next steps are to make a Faction View scene that shows the stats and assets of the faction, and allows adding and removing assets. Once I feel like I have a good enough user experience for it - something that's not really my specialty - I'll probably upload it to itch.io with just the Faction and asset tracking. After that, I'd like to include a simple map and then a way to run the Faction Turn.

Libtcod Tutorials

Over a year after I received feedback from r/roguelikedev about my attempt at making a C++ tutorial for libtcod, I have begun making a concerted effort to continue working on the codebase again!

After the whole effort of getting a simple eventing system using double-dispatch in place, I took a pretty good break before returning. I decided to make sure the code was working on both Linux and Windows, and updated to the C++23 standard at the same time, which introduced some issues. At first I thought it was a problem with MSVC, but was able to replicate it with Clang as well. It turns out that the way I was doing virtual inheritance for the event handlers worked perfectly fine in C++20, but broke in C++23. Getting that figured out took a few days, but after that I confirmed it worked on GCC, Clang, and MSVC :D

Next I'm going to continue working on the actual tutorial code before I return to writing the tutorials for C++ again, to make sure that there's not more optimizations or architectural changes I'll want to do down the line that would be better to backport again.

Hi! What are your headcannons for trans Duncan+Quigley? (If you have any) :)

:D! I'm strangely glad you ask!

When Duncan and Quigley were around preschool age, they were drawn to the boy's costumes in preschool, assigning themselves in the typical boy's roles when playing dress up with his classmates (who didn't mind it). This continued on into kindergarten as well.

Before the summer of first grade, Duncan and Quigley when out shopping for new clothes, found themselves drawn to the boy's clothes, buying some boy's clothes in the mix of it all to mix and match. Duncan more so than Quigley. Their parents didn't mind at all, telling them to buy what they feel comfortable in. And which each year, they bought both more and more boy's clothes.

Both Duncan and Quigley initially wore a mixture of boy and girl's clothes. Slowly over the years, they wore less and less. Duncan by third grade completely had a wardrobe of boy's clothes, while Quigley has the occasional skirt and dress that he wears with leggings.

While some kids bullied them for this, the rest of the students didn't mind. The teachers didn't mind also, and would swiftly give a lecture to the bullies and detention when seeing it. If they weren't around, Isadora would find one, knowing that these teachers take bullying seriously. Isadora also give them a particular death glare that scares them to where the bully will 100% stop (no one messes with Isadora's siblings except for her!)

One day, two bullies thought it 'funny' to stick gum into Duncan and Quigley's hairs, leading the short and curl style the Quagmires have in the illustrations, because there was no way the gum was going to get out other than snipping it off. When seeing their new haircut in the mirror, both realized this is how they want look like, how they want to be seen, that this is their identity.

Both together told Isadora first and she was happy for her brothers and for them to being happy as well. Later on, the boys told their parents, and they too, were happy for their sons.

Regarding how Duncan and Quigley got their names:

Duncan picked his name because one day their parents went for dozen donuts from Dunkin' Donuts, and when they returned, he made a joke about Duncan dunkin' for donuts, and he went, "Wait no, I like this!"

Quigley asked his parents for the potential names they picked out, and they oblige by giving him the list they thought they threw away, but didn't. The name 'Quigley' was last, and Quigley liked how 'Q.Q' sounded.

Again, thank you for strangely asking! I don't really talk about this particular headcanon, and I'm glad I got to here! I mentioned in the tags of a reblog post, this is a flux headcanon for me.

I sometimes headcanon the go-to common one in the fandom of Isadora being trans and Duncan and Quigley are cis, or headcanon that they aren't identical at all because Lemony is mocking the 'identical not identical sibling' trope because this is Daniel Handler, after all. This was a nice way to talk about the reverse headcanon. I hope you enjoy reading them!

🫒 I will mention before continuing that some of my alters are a bit shy and won't really be saying anything on this blog, so they won't be introduced. Only alters who interact with my blog will get an intro! Also, we are very blurry and struggle to figure out who's in front most of the time, but we passively influence each other all the time, so it doesn't matter much.

🦄 Starting off, there's Julian/ Gwynn! He's our host and has a better intro above the cut, but he's the most common fronter and therefore kinda the star of the show. He's very magical and mystical, full of whimsy, and has very punk, leftist values with lots of queerness. He's also at least kinda frontstuck. Very creative, idealistic, and tries to be optimistic but struggles with it.

🕷 Alison/ Alice (She/ Her, They/ it, and sometimes She/ He), 29ish, a protector and anger holder and/ or has a huge hand in our regulation processes I believe. She's the secondary host and fronts very often, is much more adult than the rest of us, and is actually the oldest alter who has an age. She's transfemme, genderfluid, and genderqueer. I do also think she might be based off of Vidia from the Tinkerbell movies, but she's not an introject.

🦋 Milo/ Wren/ Atlas Moth (He/ They), 13-15ish, is a middle alter who likes to draw and play/ swim in creeks. He's heavily associated with boyhood, has an unstable sense of self, and likes to copy the other alters if he likes their ideas.

🦊 Scarlet/ Kit, She/ They/ He, 17-19ish, another middle alter. Really likes non-classic rock and Hot Topic. Secretly likes classical music and ballet. Mainly associated with girlthinghood, overly romanticizes Jinx from Arcane, and relates a bit too hard to Spinel from Steven Universe. She really likes the Electra Heart album as well.

🏵 Usagi, any pronouns and ageless. Loves bunnies, is a joy holder, the happiest alter in the headspace sanctuary! Big fan of nostalgia and stuffed animals as well. The happy sunshine baby of all time! Prefers being in nature all the time, or reading books, and the aesthetic of age regression without the practice of it.

🧚🏽 Ivy/ Faye, She/ Her, sometimes They/ Fae, about 6-8 years old, our only little (to my knowledge), and a double introject of Tinkerbell herself and Ivy from the My Sister The Vampire series. She's kinda like our inner child, and she likes fairies, ponies and horses, childhood interests of ours, pixie dust (gold glitter), fawns, cute bugs, music boxes, cows, and other sweet cottagecore things.

🌵 Marlowe, He/ Him, ageless (?). Very creative, doesn't like being disturbed, has a lot of boundaries, really likes Plushie Dreadfuls, very scary when angry but typically shy and quiet.

🪼🐂 Dimitri, He/ They/ She, ageless, fabulous, and confident. Very comfortable in their skin, is a fusion of two confidence alters (Terrance and Indigo), loves the Pixar movie Soul and many other slice of life movies (like The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty and Life Of Pi), loves singing along to the Shrek 2 soundtrack and doing car karaoke with friends, loves jazz and confidence rap (the kind of rap that's very uplifting of the self and such), a true philosopher, and is always down for carbs because life is too short to avoid joy over dumb societal rules that stunt your growth as a person!

🌫 Denise/ Mouse, doesn't really use pronouns and would prefer direct mentioning please! Is everywhere and nowhere at all times like a mist sometimes, other times Mouse is much more concentrated to one area and is kinda just brainfog and amnesia personified. Denise speaks very quietly with very few words, but everything Denise says commands and grips the entire room. Always whispering and mumbling, and is typically very sweet. Mouse enjoys sleepovers with our other alters as well! Very lonely.

🐾 As for theriotypes, I'm a holothere and polytherianthrope, so let's get that out of the way!

I'm a canine, feline, equine, and cervine cladotherian (including mythical, supernatural, and monstrous versions of each animal)

I'm a valais blacknose, bighorn, hebridian, and jacob sheep

I'm a harbor and ring seal

I'm a bunny and wolpertinger

I'm a stegosaurus, raptor, and plesiosaur paleotherian, maybe more on the paleo front

I'm a dragon therian

I'm an arctic stream, koi pond, and alpine lake conceptkin

I'm a blue fairy penguin, flamingo, owl of some form, a bearded vulture, a peacock, and possibly a harpy eagle

I'm a crocodile or alligator (likely a croc though) and maybe some form of monitor lizard

I'm questioning if I'm some kind of amphibian or fish, and I may also be a type of digging tarantula or jumping spider mayhaps?

I also have a lot of fictional hearttypes, lots of paras, and potentially a few headmate introjects that might mimic hearttypes but this post would go on forever if I mentioned them soooo if you see a post about shifts that aren't my theriotypes, mind ya business lol

I do also feel connections to every single creature and biome for spiritual reasons, but this doesn't always link back to theriotypes and is sometimes just a spiritual thing for me! Sometimes it does make me question if I'm pantherian though!

🧸 As for fursonas, my main fursona is a red panda named Aster who is autumnal themed and closely based on me irl! My main plushsona is a flamingo named Larry, who I adopted from @/mushpuppies a few years back on an old account. He has big 'dad on vacation' vibes and is kinda like my big "I'm a summer baby" sona. My main ponysona is named Sweet Dreams (and I have commissioned art of him by @/canis hooves), and he's half unicorn, half zebra. He does dream magic and is a supreme herbalist! Lastly, my furbysona is named Chimichanga Thee Whole Enchilada, and he doesn't have much lore, but he's very chaotic and silly. I do think he looks a bit too similar to Aster, though, so I'd like to potentially redesign him completely. Maybe I'll make him into a clown furby?👀

1. What is the main lesson of your story? Why did you choose it? 

Honestly, my stories are more about feelings than "lessons". But if I have to pick... it is that kindness is strenght. Cyrus does not fight fire with fire, and despite all that happened to him, he has a gentle heart, and that requires so much strenght.

2. What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding? 

Well, fuck XD, this is hard. The ideas kinda came to my mind? The words just came to my mind and I wrote them, but there were some whump stories that helped.

This was the original drabble that started the world-building, from @floral-comet-whump 's prompt.

Destroyer, by @paingoes was the first inspiration that came to mind <3, about how it works the role of a living weapon, and Cyrus&Wilson have traces of Delta&Martino XD. Also inspired me into doing different species in the story.

Also, for different species, I got some inspiration in DnD, but since I've never actually played it, I'm using it more as a species inspiration than a guide.

Fog and Furrow from @wildfaewhump and TJ and Danny from @tendertenebrosity also helped in inspiration for how the unwilling gifted in my world are treated in the military. Those stories are super cool, so they were there in the back of my mind as I decided how to do the system.

Liam by @just-horrible-things also helped in the same way as the path verse. I really liked the story, so it stuck with me while I was writing, helping me to build up the system.

Handler and Healer also by @just-horrible-things plays a part in a part of the story I didn't post about yet, but it's also an inspiration to how the militar settlement works and the system I made.

There are certainly more stories I read and that were in the back of my mind, but I can't remember them now. Also, I do use a lot of prompts to help me guide the narrative, and I do end up building words around it.

There are more protagonists to my universe than Cyrus, because I want to show different views of the system, but that's only after Curse of Withering (Cyrus story) is complete.

3. What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness or help the reader grow as a person? 

Cyrus just wants peace. And in a way, so do I.

Guess the story is not much more than a whump/comfort story meant to entertain XD. I want to share my work, and Curse of Withering just took the first place.

4. How many chapters is your story going to have? 

You're gonna ask me that so soon? :')

I have around 10 half-planned, but honestly there's no way for me to tell. It's gonna have as many chapters as it needs to for me to show all I want to show about Cyrus and the universe he's in.

5. Is it fan fiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it? 

Original. And here on Tumblr :D. Might post on Ao3, but not sure.

6. When did you start writing? 

This story in specific? Ahhhm... 2 weeks ago? I don't remember, but it's pretty recent.

In general? The first story I created, I was 7, the first time I wrote one, I was... idk, maybe 10? Around that age.

I'm bad at counting time, you can tell.

7. Do you have any words of encouragement for fellow writers of writeblr? What other writers do you follow?

I follow more than 50 writers, I have a really long list of "to read" :'), so I can't name all of them.

But words of encouragement... I think what Alia said is top tier. Write for yourself! You can still crave interaction and want people to read your work, but first comes yourself. Write for yourself, and only after let yourself look at others, or else it'll feel like a duty you'll always be anxious about.

And don't overthink. Kinda hard, I know. But trust me, theres ALWAYS someone who will like it. No matter what it is about or how well/basly written it is. Add the whole amount of tags Tumblr allows you to add, make sure it all is in your work, and someone looking for that will find you eventually.

1. What is the main lesson of your story? Why did you choose it? 

Don’t be an idiot and actually communicate with those you love, lol. In all seriousness, I don’t know if my story has a main theme, but there are several themes for sure. The importance of having family that loves and supports you (whether found or biological), taking back autonomy of oneself, and the importance of community.

2. What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding? 

Other BBU/pet whump authors! If you have written for the BBU, trust me, I have used some idea of yours as inspiration somewhere. I also use middle school me’s obsession with dystopian novels as inspiration as well.

3. What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness or help the reader grow as a person? 

All my MCs are trying to heal, in one way or another and I want my readers to connect with my characters in some way. Not really teaching a lesson or having some big, major theme, but I want my characters to feel real and connect with the readers (yes, even if you want to kill them you cannot touch Star, he is immune from death)

The minute I learned what stories were. I think I wrote my first “story” (bible fanfiction. No I will not be taking questions about that) when I was about seven or so, then my first full fanfiction at nine and I have not stopped since. 

7. Do you have any words of encouragement for fellow writers of writeblr? What other writers do you follow?

Read! Seriously, I cannot stress this enough! Read! And not just to compare yourselves with other writers–please don’t do that at all–but read to see how others write emotion, descriptions, characters, plots! Take what you like and figure out why you don’t like other kinds of writing, then apply what you want to your own writing. Also, your writing voice will develop in time. Don’t worry about that.

A large chunk of people I follow are writers! Can’t list all of them here, but they know who they are and their writings have inspired and shaped both my style and my content. Ilyasm!

✍️ For the vampire AU it was literally I saw vampire art and thought, "Hey, what if I wrote a story about that?" It was that simple, honestly. For the Cabaret AU, I was listening to a song and my brain was like, hey, what if y/n was a stage performer and Sun and Moon worked at one of the clubs they sang at? Oooh, what if it was a cabaret-type club? My brain just does this thing where it chases shinies and depending on how interesting the shiny is the more love and attention it gets.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe - Benjamin Alire Sáenz. Cute book about a young queer relationship.

Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World - Benjamin Alire Sáenz.

The Miseducation of Cameron Post - Emily M. Danforth. Be warned, this one starts off cute and gets very sad.

Simon Vs the Homosapiens Agenda - Becky Albertalli. I read the book before watching the movie. It's a chill read.

Dead Posts Society - Nancy H. Kleinbaum. I haven't actually read the book but I am obsessed with the movie and 100% will be reading this soon.

A Series of Unfortunate Events - Daniel Handler. I read these as a 10/12 year old, I never finished them but I definitely recommend. They're an easy read and I'd love to re read them when I find the time.

The Color Purple - Alice Walker. This book broke me in ways I can't explain. Please look up a TW before reading.

Dear Evan Hansen - Val Emmich. One of my favourite musicals and it's honestly a pretty solid book for what it is. The movie sucks but just ignore that. Look up TWs for this.

Golden Boys - Phil Stamper. Young queer guys go out into the world. Cute.

Fantasy books/ Supernatural Fiction.

Lord of the Rings - J.R.R Tolkien. Haven't finished the books yet because they're so long, but so far it's a fun read. Movies are also amazing.

The Hobbit - J.R.R Tolkien. The movies were okay, the books have a lot of songs. These probably aren't worth reading unless you love LOTR.

Gothic! The Original Dark Tales. - Multiple Authors.

Interview With a Vampire - Anne Rice. I haven't read it but my dad is obsessed with the movie.

Twilight - Stephanie Meyer. Movies are a favourite of mine, the books are definitely something.

Comics/ Graphic Novels.

The Umbrella Academy - Gerard Way. I prefer the show over the comics but as a fan they're still fun to read.

Watchmen - Alan Moore. A social commentary on the government and power. Great read and the movie is amazing.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World - Brian Lee O'Malley. Such a fun graphic novel series and the movie is amazing.

I Am Not Okay With This - Charles Forsman. Cute style but a tragic story.

Social commentaries/ Serious books.

1984 - George Orwell. Good read, it's a little slow at times but overall, it's pretty good.

Animal Farm - George Orwell. It's short, it gets to the point almost immediately. A good read if you're into politics.

Fight Club - Chuck Palahniuk. One of my top 10 books and movies of all time. Extremely misunderstood story. The book goes into a lot more detail than the film.

Biographies/ Autobiographies.

Sorry Not Sorry - Naya Rivera. As a Glee fan, I love this book so much. If you like behind the scenes TV show drama, you'll adore this.

Lives of the Artists: Frida Kahlo - Hettie Judah. Friday was an incredible artist and an advocate for many political causes. Great read.

I'm Glad My Mom Died - Jennette McCurdy. This one really got to me.

Romanticism in Art - William Vaughan.

The High Renaissance and Mannerism - Linda Murray.

The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Music - Percy A. Scholes. I haven't read through it all but as a musician its very helpful.
