as you sit on the rooftop of your small loft apartment, head in your boyfriend's lap as he smokes a cigarette, your life feels complete.

minghao softly strokes your hair, thin fingers running races on your scalp as you smile into his clothed thigh. he hums a song, a song you can't recognize, and your heart seems to slow in your chest as you think back.

you think of the first time minghao and you had met—you were a little kindergartner in a class different from minghao, being paired up to be partners for a tea-making project. you had screwed the brewing process, and minghao had yelled at you, bringing you to tears before sheepishly apologizing and helping you try again.

from that moment on you and minghao became the best of friends. wherever minghao went, you went—the two of you had become attached to each other, and slowly, that attachment became attraction.

you started to see the skinny, quiet art kid finally mature into the man he was now—lean, creative, still with a tint of quietness to his nature. seeing minghao in a light that wasn't your best friend was hard, but you eventually came to accept it and told him how you felt.

minghao had felt the same way—he always had, and the two of you started to date the night after he expressed his love for you.

even now, the memory seemed so far away as minghao pressed a kiss to your forehead, warm breath fanning over your face as he smiles down at you.

"what's got you smiling like that?" he asks with a soft tease. minghao was never one for real teasing, but he thought it was so cute when you got shy.

"thinking about you, hao. thinking about how we met and stuff," you let your fingertips go to the sky, seemingly brushing the stars as you stare up at minghao. his dark eyes are focused on you, so in love that his cigarette starts to wither away in the wind.

"i'm very glad that you absolutely butchered the tea boiling process. without that massive blunder, i don't think we would have ever met." minghao's practically reading your mind at this point, eyes meeting yours as he presses a kiss to your cheek."

"that's true....just..." you pause, and minghao carefully places a kiss close to your upper lip, almost locking lips with yours as he smiles, cutting off your sentence as you chuckle.

"just very embarrassing." you finish, cheeks a bright red as minghao chuckles lowly.

the cigarette smoke coming from minghao's soft lips taste like dreams, past moments that you had just lived through your head. it was singing yet familiar, tasting of a life you had once lived.

"embarassing? absolutely. cute? ...absolutely" minghao laughs again, smile lines highlighted on his soft skin as you sit up. your body gently nudges minghao's more sturdy form, and he chuckles at you, watching your eyes sparkle as you stare up at the stars once more.

"you taste like strawberries." you say after a beat of silence, and minghao stares at you, features softening. "do i?"

"mhm." you nod quietly, too overwhelmed with the feeling of the past to look minghao in the eye. it's not that you're sad or hurt because of the past you shared with minghao—in fact, it made you who you were today.

you just wish you could go back to that time: a simpler time that held nothing but whispered dreams and soft embraces. a time when you and minghao were just kids, the only worries being what would be for snack time and what you'd do on the weekends.

"strawberries and cigarettes," you whisper bitterly after a few more seconds of quietness, and minghao doesn't reply to that, taking your hand in his as he lets you lean your head on his shoulder.

minghao tastes the longing for a simpler time in your voice, and suddenly he can feel it too, taking another cigarette in his nimble fingers as he twirls it around, heart clenching at the sight of you.

"times like those....they were irreplaceable, hao." your voice cracks at the nickname, and before you know it, tears are gathering at the corners of your eyes.

"they were, baby," even minghao lets a sigh escape from his full lips, shoulders falling a little as he looks out on the horizon.

for the first time, minghao throws the cigarette away.

ok, so I'm the anon you convinced to watch pit babe back after finishing ep 1. here are my thoughts that you didn't ask for. charlie and babe are both unhinged. babe when he first met charlie being like oh this is a potential stalker let's fuck about it really sent me. charlie standing like a puppy at the club talking about being taken under babe's friends wings and they're just thinking 'do you know you have 30 mins??' babe's so confident to the point of arrogance so of course I'm really excited to see him tap into being pathetic and down bad. it's also so obvious (at least to me) that a lot of it is posturing and there's more to him. also there's barely any special like racing/car related terminology and I'm still the like ??? like I'm someone who not so long ago found out that hyundai and honda weren't the same thing. I just thought people had different accents so that's why it sounded like two different words loool. Also not really relevant to the story but why does it look like the juggernaut ran threw babe's house? like why do you live in a literal slab of concrete pls? anyway, what I'm trying to say with all of this is i love fun and I'm very much having a lot of fun rn

side note: I need that old man Alan in ways that haven't even been invented yet. like give me 5 mins king and it would get very fast and furious in that establishment

but i am soooo glad you're having fun !!! this show is so much fun but it's also dramatic as hell and then it gets serious but it's still so wild too like even when shit starts going down it doesn't really lose that sense of '???? bitch ???' so that's fun

but you're so right abt babe like when he's got charlie pinned to the wall and he pulls off his mask and he's like 'stalkers are this handsome these days?' its like babe can you FOCUS !! but yeah i'm trying so hard not to spoil anything but all i'll say is i can tell just from the way you're talking abt them that you're gonna have a lot of fun with charliebabe lmao

and you're so real i'm definitely not a car girlie at all like i can't even drive (tho i admit i did know the difference between honda and hyundai. altho you're kinda real for the accent thing. they ARE kinda similar) but thankfully the racing is definitely Not the Point. like there are a few moments where they get into the Car of it all but for the most part its just a setting yknow? like an office or a university. it's like ok we're at the garage. ok now we're at the track. ok now we're back at the garage again. oh now we're racing! yay!

tbh idc if it's irrelevant i'm right there with you. i HATE babe's house. it's truly just horrendous. and u know what funnily enough that's one of the few things i've seen the fandom reach consensus on bc it's just. so bad. why the fuck is there a car in the living room. why are there holes in the wall. why does babe not own a bed frame. the guy owns like 50 cars and yet he lives in a half finished warehouse renovation like . what was he thinking.

Request bf to go try d glide at CHIJMES after our wkday dinner. So hot! Lol but an experience lah. Shall go ice skating w him some day.

Long wkend just past so fast. Had half day on xmas eve. Watched my drama till 4 then prep and went Grace's hse for steamboat n xmas exchange. We said to buy gift of budget of $30 but I got a gift which I think at most $10 :( We played quite a few different card games and only head home ard 2am. Shag

It's okay, I got 2 surprise the next day. Woke up 9+ and meal prep alone at home. Suddenly, there was a delivery, I tot was for my sis or dad but it looks like food. I asked who ordered and d delivery man showed me the receipt. It was from my buddy aka team leader. 2 pin of Udder ice cream hehehe~ I'm so touched!

Meeting bf 12 at platform to go lunch tgt. He said he went to collect his stuff, so I tot maybe something for his uniform. Quickly clean d kitchen and only left hse at 12. Oops! Open my hse gate and saw him hiding beside hahaha~ saw him holding the pie which I wanted to try so badly but nvr get it. 1st thing I felt was guilty hahaha~ cos I just said him a few days ago that he nvr plan where to go nowadays, and I have to request then he go w me. I was really touched!! He pre-order and went to collect for me! Actually he love me a lot in other way, his words, also trying to spent more time w me, check on me. I'm so not thoughtful :( haha

I con't meal prep a little after lunch before we took a nap. Make bf do mask w me, while waiting for sis to finish cooking for xmas dinner.

We were quite on to book a trampoline fitness class next day, last min after dinner. Was quite excited! Regret didn't drink enough water cos 1 side of my ear was echoing. After d class, I had cold Sweat and feeling giddy. That's it, I puke in d toilet. Lucky bf was ard and we went for a drink. So sweet of him to travel longer route, just to acc me to d stn I'm alighting. Can't ask for more. Managed to meet my SSC for late lunch. It's always a good time, but I felt a bit tired though. Bus ride home, feels like taking forever. I had diarrhea once I sat on d toilet bowl. Took pills for diarrhea after I ran toilet d second time. God! It's didn't stop. The whole night I ran 4 times more. Had to call in sick.

Hmm, manager asked me to reschedule today's meeting when I told her I'm on mc and she had no time to attend. Wow~ no help given. Sad life, got to crawl out of bed to send email, to inform reschedule exit interview meeting. Seen d doc, then realized I had overwork my muscle ard my core and causing me to have diarrhea. Feeling better after d meds n nap. Met Della for dinner before she return to her hometown on Wed. Finally!! So happy for her. Oh and she got promoted, for d 1st time in her career. Really hard work paid off!
