Calypso Xaymaca is originally from Jamaica (yes i'm aware Jamaica doesn't exist there ROLL WITH ME), and came from a big family with nine siblings. She remembers she has a twin brother, but that's about it. She came from a pretty wealthly family, people who could be considered royalty on her island.

She loves all animals, singing and listening to music, and being as much of a menace as she can be around NRC campus without getting in too much trouble. She is also 6'0! She stands on business and does not take disrespect from anyone. As she says, her hands are rated E for everyone. (Literally. She WILL fight a housewarden.)

Her favorite season is either fall or winter, mostly because of the holidays! Her favorites are Christmas and Boxing Day, or Offering Day. Weather doesn't change much where she's from, so she's used to balmy, hot weather pretty much year round, with a few exceptions.

She does have her favorites, but she won't tell who, obviously. It's for everyone to find out when she's ready.

She cannot live without having a playlist for every mood. It's a must.

Her birthday is March 25th, she's an Aries. :)

She's surprisingly good at hand to hand combat, but whenever she's asked about it, she just shrugs and says, "Eh. Notin' to worry 'bout." (Her Jamaican Patwah/Patois slips through sometimes, so here's a website that can help translate!) She can be a bit rude/sarcastic to some people, but most of the time it's never with ill intention. Most of the time.

She has a preference for spicy food, and will try anything once! She is basically immune to spice, though, since back at home she had something spicy with almost every meal.

She doesn't care for Crowley much and finds him a bit annoying, but puts up with/tolerates him nonetheless.

She's the Ramshackle Dorm Housewarden (in her eyes, it's not official. Let her be delusional/aff)

Takes care of her appearance, and often does her hair/makeup, but she will get down and dirty if need be. She is not above straightening someone out if they're getting out of line.

Calypso is from Ocho Rios, Jamaica! She sometimes talks using her Jamaican Patois to confuse people because she finds it funny, but she mainly uses regular English with a slight accent.

PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION : tumblr ims / dms. i do have a discord, but i rarely log on so if you communicate using that just know i'm bound to forget. i know ims can give people anxiety, but i prefer to just keep everything on one platform.

EXPERIENCE / HOW LONG ( MONTHS / YEARS? ) : uffda... years. my first group isn't even around anymore (though some of the characters from that group are still around, see: mills, aeron, & rhis). i believe i started in 2014, though i am so bad with time.

BEST EXPERIENCE : descendcntshq (if i recall the url correctly). such a fun group, everyone was really chill & the ooc discord made communication between muns easy & efficient. much like my first group, some of my characters from there are still kicking (pretty much all of my descendants characters originated there, even if they've been tweaked). even my url is similar (though that's more bc of my obsession with one song in particular than anything else).

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS : being rude. not tagging your smut. being a smut-heavy or smut-focused blog. being unwilling to work w/ your thread partner(s).

THREAD PREFERENCES FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT : fluff & angst, though recently i do lean more towards fluff. slice of life threads are some of my favorites. as for smut... it's in my rules that i don't write smut.

PLOTS OR MEMES : i'm like... super anxious about plotting because it kind of feels like i suggest the same stuff over & over. that being said—memes as thread openers also aren't my forte since i like sending in so many & then only continue the ones i really enjoy. now, i will repeat what's in my pinned: the best way to start a thread with me is to reply to one of my opens or come to my ims with an idea you already have (so that we can then make a closed starter).

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : these are subjective terms, so i'll just say that somewhere between two & five paragraphs (comprised of at least three sentences) is the sweet spot. though it also depends on how well we mesh ooc & how well the characters in the thread mesh ic. if we get along great & our characters have some deep reason to be interacting, i tend to skew longer in my replies.

BEST TIME TO WRITE : late evening / night. when the rest of the world is quiet, i can write without being self-conscious that somehow someone will see my screen & judge me.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) : oh yeah. i'd go as far as to say each character has at least one attribute of me in them. sometimes it's as innocuous as we both love fast food & have gutter brain. sometimes they're basically me on a page ([cough] theo [cough]). i do, however, fear, that all of my characters come off as autistic, depressed, & riddled with anxiety as i am all three.

BACK STORY

Born from a Wallachian Vampire and a French noblewoman, Raven was raised by both his parents in his father’s mansion, and he received a Patrician landlord title from his father. When he was eight, his Mother got murdered for “alleged witchcraft” by the rough justice of the local peasants.

Right after his mother died, his father became emotionally detached from him, till he got sent to his mother’s house in France. 

Adopted by his grandfather, whose pure bloodline dates centuries back, he was sent to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in England under a false identity to elude the 'Magical Being' laws in force in France, where it was extremely hard for part humans to get jobs, receive proper education, proper medical care or any sort of justice. 

Sorted into the Ravenclaw house, he was an average student awfully fascinated by the power a broad knowledge could bring - and by Dark Arts as well. 

Before dying, his grandfather named him heir of the large majority of the family fortune, seeing in a nearly-immortal grandchild the possibility to keep the family assets intact.

After his Hogwarts years, his family's wealthy background allows him to travel around the world, and study the arts of Magic from some of the greatest modern wizards. 

He was forced to change identities many times to escape the great deal of prejudice against "Half-Breeds", and he rarely remained in the same place for more than a decade. 

PRESENT

Once back in the western world, he chose the name Raven to honor the founder of his Hogwarts House, whom he always felt very close to.

After years and decades of being told and believing he was an "inferior", an "abomination", a "half-breed", Raven developed an ultimate love for himself as a kind of self-defense mechanism. He seeks to be perfect and flawless to the limit of pathetic. 

His wealthy family’s background allows him to dedicate himself to his hobbies and deviations without any concern.  

He can be stubborn with quite a childish attitude towards his "preys" and he considers "preys" anyone he can get something from: knowledge, blood, bare good company. 

Raven has been taught to keep his true nature secret and will not disclose it until necessary. Same goes with his native name or his family of origin: some secrets are meant to be kept.

MUN

Mun is 30+ and my pronouns are She/Her. 

Raven is a character I've created for a 30k-word FB3 fanfiction that will never see the light. Since I've traced his personality very well in my mind, why not try role-playing with him? 

I've role-played for years as several fantasy characters (elves and vampires mainly).

I’m also a visual artist, which basically means I have a lot of fun with Photoshop. Most (or even all) of the very simple edits you see here will be done by me.
