how long did it take for y'all to set up all of the themes for your blogs? like omg. this one and i saw kris' and asriel's and i haven't seen all the others but asriel's and this one are so fascinating??? it makes me want to set up themes but then i remember how little time i spend on here (partially due to the fact that when i get on tumblr it's a adhd paradise and i'm like "what is time" and scroll for hours) like damn i'm sort of jealous my hyperfocus thus far is strictly nonproductive lmao

Oh yeah honestly visiting @theme-hunter is VERY useful. I suggest window-shopping for theme you like and stash the links somewhere and go thru all of them until you can narrow one you like

Funny you mention Kris’s theme because like. If you go to his theme credit he had to make a theme credit himself because the original creator for his theme doesn’t update anymore (inactive) and there’s some broken things Kris had to fix over the years lol. I think he’s put so much time and effort into his theme that he isn’t changing it any time soon. And he’s added a bunch of stuff like link colors, scrollable descriptions, GIFS... he even added/edited stuff on his about. He’s INSANE

But like what we do is we find a theme we life, and sometimes we go the extra mile and open the CSS/theme code and edit the SMALLER things like. @pepperoniparker (Peter) hadded the redirect icons on the top, Kris added a BUNCH of stuff... even animating something on his about page using jiust code

Oh yeah, and google is your friend. We never really knew anything about CSS until after we started wanting to get into personalizing the themes we use

OH and like sometimes you dont HAVE to google things, just experiment with the theme you have and observe what each thing does. Kind of hard to explain but its REALLY fun when you notice all the stuff and it clicks
