#saw some posts about how basically this website is dying for one reason or another#and like usually I’m like hell yeah stick it to the corporations!!!#but one thing a lot of people don’t realize is that the amount of measures it takes to run a business in tech#is really…a lot#and to have 0 marketing involved to generate revenue is even worse#social media is a free service for the sole reason that users are technically a ploy to advertise to#what users here basically did was demand that tumblr provide to us while also remain minimal in their advertising#which basically means they aren’t generating revenue conventionally#blazing posts and purchasing check marks were a temporary problem to a long term solution#if this website requested to be ran the same way AO3 and wiki does users would immediately attack staff#it’s a really shit situation but also tumblr shouldn’t have listened so much to their users#the net worth of tumblr isn’t worth much to investors given all this unless#i should also add that gated communities (like discord) has negatively impacted the amount of users on this site#less users means less interaction with content creators (dominantly artists)#less content creators means less content#u guys get the gist#I’d like to add to question every business related explanation on this website#y’all can complain to hell and back about tumblr but it was one of the lesser evils as far as ads went

so...Desmond was captured by Abstergo in Washington Square Park in canon. which is in Manhattan
and Connor kills Washington in the au
things just get juicier and juicier
#also#this actually really works out for me with the protocreed au#i was wondering where the fuck Desmond would actually get captured bc Alex would never let anything bad happen to him so long as he's aronud#this gives me such an easy solution: Desmond was at the park with Elijah and Dana on his day off#realized that they were being followed and had them use their escape plan: pretend like Dana is the mom and Desmond splits off to fight#he loses the fight and Dana and Elijah tell Alex once they manage to get to safety#they squirrel Desmond out of NY#and the only reason that Alex doesn't get to Desmond in the main run of this au is bc they traveled over water#and he needed to get an aircraft that wouldn't immediately get shot down#something's cooking bro#it's this STORY

a closer look

synopsis: every time you try to take your relationship to the next level, you always shy away at the last second. lucky for you, dr. zayne has a solution!
tags: inexperienced reader & zayne, soft dom zayne, reader fears penetration at first, zayne sets up a surgical camera so she can watch him finger her, vaginal fingering (duh), “anatomy” “lesson,” praise, “good girl,” improper use of hospital assets pairing: zayne x fem reader word count: 2.3k
a/n: this came to me in a dream. enjoy
“Have I given you reason to be afraid of me?” Zayne asks you softly, attentive gaze trailing down your stiff body.
“N-no!” you blurt, thrusting your hands out in mortification. “You haven’t, I swear you haven’t. This is just…new to me.”
“Me as well,” he retreats from above you, moving back on the sofa to give you breathing room.
Just moments ago, you’d been writhing under him needily, his tongue plunging into your eager mouth as you groped each other with abandon. Spurred on by your initial pleas, he’d dared to take it further this time—further than either of you had ever been. But as his hand had traveled down your body, dipping just the slightest bit inside your panties, you’d gone rigid. Zayne, ever aware of your reactions, had stopped his movements immediately, looking seekingly into your eyes for answers. Unfortunately for him, once that cautious hazel gaze had found yours, you’d squeezed your eyes shut in embarrassment.
“It’s nothing that you did, Zayne,” you sigh as you sit up, running a hand through your hair in frustration. “I know you’d never hurt me. I’m just…scared.”
“Of?” he asks softly, and the way his kind face is void of any judgment makes you want to extract your brain and beat it for denying you the chance to feel him.
Another sigh escapes you as you gather your thoughts. “What if it hurts?” you wonder shyly, fiddling with your clammy hands. “I always imagined it’d hurt. And there’s never…been…anything there, outside of medical stuff. That’s the only thing I have to compare it to.”
Nodding along patiently, Zayne extends a hand to you, pulling you to him when you accept it gratefully. “I’m sorry that you’re frightened, but I understand your hesitation. I’m content to just hold you in my arms, if you’ll let me. As long as it takes, I’ll wait for you.”
“No, I-I want to. With you, soon. That’s the problem—I’ll think I’m ready, but then the second we get close, I freeze up. I just don’t know what to expect, and that scares me.”
Humming contemplatively, Zayne laces your fingers together. “I think I can help with that.”
The usually bustling corridors of Akso Hospital are eerily quiet at night.
Hurrying through them as if a ghost will jump out at any second, you scour the door plaques for room 429.
I’ll be finishing up early today. If you’re able, can you meet me at the hospital this evening? Room 429, Zayne had messaged you hours ago. And with no other plans and a lingering sense of guilt that you know he’d disapprove of, you’d agreed almost instantly.
Combating pangs of confusion—he never asked you here at night, outside of official events—you don’t realize you’ve scurried past the door until the room numbers grow too high. Backtracking briskly, you tap the wood with two soft knocks before a calm “Come in!” beckons you inside.
Room 429 is a standard hospital room—a large examination table, a sink and cabinets, and two simple chairs. At the small table near the back of the room—much humbler than the sleek standing desk in his office, you note perplexedly—Zayne sits, pen in hand, leafing through an endless stack of paperwork. Why did he move his office here for the night?
“Great, you’re here,” he says, setting his pen atop a thick packet. “Take a seat.”
“Um, okay,” you mumble obediently, heading toward one of the navy guest chairs.
“Not there,” he calls.
Turning to face him, you catch the way his eyes shift to the examination table. “Is this some kind of impromptu appointment?” you ask, his secrecy filling you with stubbornness.
Zayne rises from the rolling chair that’s too small for him, crossing the room in measured strides. “Not a sanctioned one.”
Before you can ask what he means, his hands are wrapping around your waist, lifting you up to deposit you on the soft table padding.
“Hey!” you squeak, surprised but not fighting him. “What is all this? I had my annual checkup a couple weeks ago, I’ll have you know. And I won’t be your guinea pig, either.”
Zayne tsks with amusement. As he presses a button, a large black mount lowers from the ceiling, its sturdy hooks securing a small silver device. Another button, and the device’s tiny red light flicks on.
And suddenly, your reflection stares back at you from a monitor on the opposite wall.
Anticipating your interrogation, Zayne speaks before you can. “This is a high-definition surgical instrument. It’s used to help us see the body during minor procedures.”
You blink at him quizzically. “So…a camera?”
“Yes. A camera. Repurposed for…recreational matters,” he quips with a slight upturn of his lips.
“You should know your own body,” he continues gently. “Exploring yourself—whether with or without me—is your right. And after last night, I figured…perhaps being able to see my actions as they happen would assuage some of your fears.”
“You…when did you have time to…?” you trail off, staring up at him in wonder.
“I believe I told you I finished my work early today. This was the reason,” he reveals. Even with you perched on the examination table, Zayne’s imposing height exceeds yours. His assurance is a warm blanket as he stands beside you, resting a large palm on your bent knee. “I’d like to help you explore yourself now. Will you allow me to?”
With a heavy gulp—more from anticipation than nerves, you realize—you nod your consent meekly.
“I don’t know what that means, darling. Can you give me words?”
“Yes,” you exhale shakily. “Help me. Please.”
Smiling softly, pride flashing across his face, he leans in to kiss you sweetly. Then, reaching up to bring the camera closer, he angles it toward your lower body. On the far wall, the feed is dangerously close to revealing what lies beneath your skirt.
“I’ll raise this,” he says, lifting the fabric with care. “And these…will need to come off,” he eyes you, gesturing to your thin cotton panties.
For a moment, you debate removing them yourself. But if this was about overcoming fears….
“Can you do it, Dr. Zayne? I wouldn’t want to get in the way,” you whisper coyly.
His eyes widen as he pauses. Then, collecting himself, he inches his hands forward to tug at the sides of your panties, sliding them down with precision. “Of course,” he says softly. “I’ll take care of you.”
As he sets his eyes on your naked cunt for the first time, Zayne shows admirable restraint, looking away after only a few tense seconds. Some hypocritical, eager-to-please part of you would almost be offended, if not for his tells: his quickened blinks, heavy breaths, and fidgeting fingers.
“I’ll get started now,” he exhales, voice husky with veiled desire. “You’re free to stop me at any time.”
And as you gaze at him with trust and only a little bit of fear, Zayne begins.
“This is your pelvic bone,” he gestures slowly. “It supports your body weight.”
The warmth of someone else’s hand on your bare hip is a foreign feeling. Foreign, but not bad, you decide, relaxing under his touch.
“The mons pubis,” he continues, hands ghosting over the mound beneath your belly.
“And this,” he murmurs, spreading your folds carefully, “is your pretty little pussy.”
The word—in here, from him, in reference to you—is so scandalous it makes you gasp. You try desperately to avoid his gaze, eyes flitting across the room in panicked arousal, but you don’t find the reprieve you’re looking for.
Because on that far wall, looking back at you tauntingly, is the velvety skin of your most private part, glistening with your growing desire.
Snapping you out of your staring contest, Zayne taps the flesh of your thigh twice. “Open, please. Wider.”
Swallowing thickly, you oblige.
“Good,” he praises, tracing your exposed entrance with an elongated index finger. “This is where I’ll touch you. Is that alright?”
Through heavy drags of air, you forget his earlier instructions, nodding quickly as your answer. When all he does is lift a brow, a teasing smirk playing on his lips, you hazily remember his request. “Yes,” you whimper apologetically. “It’s alright.”
“Well, then. Suck,” he orders simply, holding his finger to your mouth.
The command startles you at first. But as you look between the man beside you and the far wall, recalling how frustrated you’d been with your fears last night, you part your lips slightly. Just enough for him to enter.
Timidly, you circle your tongue around him, coating his finger in your saliva. Once he deems it wet enough, he taps your thigh again, and you release him with a soft pop.
With half-lidded eyes, Zayne hums his approval, pushing closer to you to angle the digit at your entrance. “Hold onto me if you need to,” he whispers, pressing a light kiss to your shoulder.
And then, his finger sinks inside you.
It’s one thing to feel the tension. To clench as a light, unfamiliar pressure pushes firmly inside your heat, claiming the untraversed territory with every inch.
But as the discomfort subsides and you open your eyes, seeing it unfold is something else entirely.
On the large screen, Zayne’s slender finger pumps in and out of you slowly, impactfully. With every exit, your pulsing pink walls hug his retreating digit, begging him to stay. And when he grants their request, every thrust back inside has them clamping around his finger, as if barring him from leaving them lonely.
Watching with rapt attention, Zayne splits his focus between the monitor and you, gauging your expression for signs of discomfort.
But as your body melts with newfound pleasure, you sigh softly along to the rhythm of his pumps, eyeing the way he breaches your wetness with wanton intrigue.
The way he disappears inside you, giving his body to yours…you want to kiss him. You need to kiss him. But the moment you lift your gaze to his lips, licking your own as you lean in, Zayne moves his face just out of reach.
“No,” he murmurs his denial, stroking your walls with added vigor as he turns your face back toward the screen. “Don’t get distracted.”
Grumbling your disappointment, you allow his hypnotic movements to recapture your attention. But before long, you’re curling into his touch. “Can you…m-more?” you pant, risking a longing glance up at him.
“More?” Zayne repeats, slowing his pace to a deep probe that makes you writhe in impatience. “Is that something you can handle?”
“Yes,” you cry, clutching his pristine lab coat. “Can handle it, if it’s you.”
He hums contentedly. And a split second later, another long finger joins the first.
Eyes glued to the screen, you see the intrusion before you feel it: his thick, united digits headed straight for your core. As he prods at the small opening, advances met with quivering resistance, you almost think you’ve asked for more than you can take. But as slick dribbles out of your squelching hole to welcome him, the fluid dulls the stretching sensation, and your fluttering cunt sucks him in greedily.
A loud, lewd moan has you arching erratically, and Zayne wraps a strong arm around your lower back to support you.
“How does it feel?” he murmurs between steady pumps. “Are you still frightened?”
“No,” you mewl ardently. “It’s good. You’re good. But I…” you pause, racking your fuzzy brain for the right words.
“You what, my love?”
“I can’t…I don’t think I can…like this…” you trail off with an embarrassed whine, hoping he understands your babbling.
“Mm,” he nods sympathetically. “It’s natural that you can’t come from this alone. What a good girl you are for telling me.”
With his free hand, Zayne leans forward to adjust the camera, centering it over your glistening cunt. Once satisfied, he flexes his thumb to rest gently on the twitching bundle above your entrance. “You know what this is, don’t you, darling?”
“Clit,” you breathe, the word leaving you in a garbled gasp thanks to the shocks of his feather-light touch.
“That’s right,” he praises, kissing your temple while his fingers scissor lazily inside you. “This is how you’ll finish.”
As your voices fade, room filling with the wet sploshes of your tightening walls, the force of his thumb grows heavier on your clit. You almost squeal as the pressure increases, instinctively lifting your hips out of the camera frame—to which Zayne firmly pushes you back down.
“Watch,” he commands sternly. “So you’ll know how to do the same when I’m away.”
Curling his other fingers inside you, Zayne rolls his thumb in devastating circles, grinding so deeply against your nub that it greets you with spasmic, greedy twitches on the monitor. For a moment, his movements are mesmerizing, his thumb drawing patterns on your clit in time with his measured pumps. But as he slips out his index finger to pinch your aching bud, the gushing slick heralding your release is the last thing you see before your eyes screw shut from ecstasy.
As you writhe against him with thankful sobs, Zayne’s movements slow before stopping altogether. “It’s alright,” he shushes you. “Let it take you. You look beautiful like this.”
And in the comfort of his reassurance, those sobs turn into quiet, blissful moans.
You’re not sure how he does it—the sink and paper towels are on the other side of the room—but when you open your eyes, Zayne’s hands are clean.
“I’m very proud of you,” he says gently, wiping a stray tear from your eye. “How do you feel?”
“Good,” you mumble, nuzzling into his palm. “You were right. Seeing it, knowing what you were doing…it did help,” you finish shyly.
“I’m glad. And in that case,” he adds, tapping the camera appreciatively, “I’ll ask around about the cost of installation in my home office.”

I don’t really want to wade into discourse too much today because I know everyone is extremely miserable online rn but I think if you want to give people genuine advice on what to do politically, “join a union/get involved in your current union/organise your workplace” or “join ACORN/a tenant union/etc” is much more actionable advice than like “build community.”
the problem with “community” is that it doesn’t have the same formal infrastructure / resources / political connections / organising capacity that allows your hard work to have reach far beyond your immediate circle (which is what a union has), and also because like, “community” is an extremely vague and abstract concept that can mean anything from a local restaurant run by your neighbour to a church to your dnd friend group. Reaching out and helping your neighbours is a good thing, lots of people are having a really tough time and helping people around you pay rent or take care of their family or etc is a good thing and you should feel good doing that, but in response to the complete institutional and political failure of electoral liberalism I think the next best option is to turn towards already existing national infrastructure that can mobilise people without requiring you to individually maintain dedicated personal relationships with everyone around you. In my experience + the experience of many long-time activists that I know, relying on interpersonal connections to organise and get things done leads to highly sectarian, disorganised, toxic, and unpleasant organising conditions. The cold impersonal bureaucracy of union membership is legitimately a good solution to this problem.
there are many little positions of power available in these organisation that become open to you for as low a cost as showing up to zoom meetings. I have personally been elected to positions in various unions/orgs literally because I was someone who showed up to meetings! Nobody goes to committee meetings! You get annual budgets! You get to pass votes, organise events, spend money on organising materials! You get to buy food for people! Organising is so much easier in these spaces.
And of course, you are going to face the same ideological resistance, apathy, ignorance, incompetence, and bigotry that you would at your local queer meet-up or community neighbourhood council, and I have no illusions about the institutional limits of unions (which can also be reactionary, bigoted, highly disorganised, incompetent, toxic, and so on), but if you want to avoid completely exhausting yourself and resenting everyone around you, you don’t need to build “community” from the ground up, there are already structures out there where you can do good work. For all the resistance there is to unions and union activity, you will face that same level of resistance with local organising but have none of the power, resources, or institutional legitimacy already secured by unions

Yours, Whether You Know it or Not
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader
Setting: Falcon and the Winter Soldier Timeline
Word Count: 1K
Summary: You’ve been running missions with Sam and Bucky for a while now, and everything was fine—until John Walker started showing up and taking an interest in you. Bucky isn’t having it. Not because he’s jealous. Definitely not because he’s jealous. He just doesn’t trust Walker. Right?
Unwanted Attention
You weren’t sure how long you’d been walking, but you knew Bucky was beside you—silent, brooding, and absolutely vibrating with tension.
Again.
It had started a week ago. After the whole Flag Smashers fiasco in Munich, John Walker and his annoying sidekick, Lemar, had started appearing more often. They were always just there, cocky and insufferable, flashing that stolen shield like they had any right to it. But that wasn’t what had been bothering Bucky the most.
It was Walker’s interest in you.
Ever since you’d first been introduced, Walker had made it painfully obvious that he found you attractive. The first time, it was a comment—something about how you were “too pretty to be running around with these two grumps.” You’d rolled your eyes, but Sam had snickered, and Bucky had muttered something under his breath that you hadn’t quite caught.
Then, it became touches—a hand on your lower back, a brush of fingers against yours when he handed you something, a lingering grip on your wrist after a mission. It was all casual enough that you couldn’t really call him out on it, but you weren’t an idiot. Walker was testing boundaries. And every time, Bucky got pissed.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
At first, you thought it was just his general hatred for Walker. But then you noticed other things.
Bucky started standing closer. His arm would “accidentally” brush against yours when you were walking. He’d place a firm hand on your back before Walker could, guiding you away without a word. And, most notably, whenever Walker so much as looked at you, Bucky’s jaw would tighten, his fists clenching like he was barely keeping himself from decking the guy.
Which led to this moment right now.
You, Bucky, and Sam were walking back to the safe house after a tense meeting with Walker and Lemar—one in which Walker had, yet again, spent way too much time trying to get your attention.
“You don’t have to act like I’m gonna drop dead if he talks to me, you know,” you said finally, breaking the silence.
Bucky didn’t look at you. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, come on.” You stopped walking, turning to face him. “Every time Walker so much as breathes in my direction, you look like you’re about to rip his throat out.”
Bucky scoffed, looking away. “I just don’t trust him.”
Sam, who had been trailing a few steps behind, smirked. “Right. That’s what this is about.”
Bucky shot him a glare, but Sam just shrugged.
“Man, you’re jealous,” Sam said. “It’s written all over your grumpy little face.”
“I’m not jealous.”
“You’re so jealous.”
“I—” Bucky cut himself off, taking a deep breath like he was trying to calm himself. “He’s an asshole.”
“No arguments there,” you said. “But if you don’t like him flirting with me, there’s a pretty easy solution, Barnes.”
Bucky’s eyes flicked to yours. “Yeah?”
You smiled innocently. “You could just tell me why it really bothers you.”
For a moment, he just stared at you, blue eyes dark and unreadable. Then, with a sharp shake of his head, he muttered, “Let’s go,” and kept walking.
Sam sighed. “Man, you are hopeless.”
You didn’t disagree.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
A Game of Possession
The next time you saw Walker, things escalated.
It was supposed to be a simple recon mission—stakeout, gather intel, get out. But, as always, Walker found a way to insert himself where he wasn’t wanted.
“You know,” Walker said, sidling up beside you, “we’d work a lot better together if you ditched these two and joined Lemar and me.”
Bucky, who was standing just a few feet away, tensed immediately.
You sighed. “Not interested.”
“Come on,” Walker pressed, flashing that annoyingly charming smile. “I’d take good care of you.”
Before you could retort, a heavy, warm weight settled around your waist.
Bucky.
His metal arm wrapped around you in an unmistakably possessive gesture, tugging you snugly against his side. His fingers splayed against your hip, and when he spoke, his voice was low and dangerous.
“She’s already taken care of.”
The air went thick with tension. Walker’s smile faltered for a fraction of a second before he recovered.
“Oh yeah?” he challenged. “By who?”
Bucky’s grip tightened. “Me.”
Your heart stopped.
Walker raised an eyebrow. “Huh. Didn’t peg you for the type to settle down, Barnes.”
Bucky’s jaw clenched. “Maybe you don’t know as much as you think you do.”
Walker let his gaze linger on you for a beat too long before smirking. “Alright, alright. No need to get your vibranium arm in a twist.”
And with that, he strolled off.
Bucky didn’t move. Neither did you.
Finally, you found your voice. “So. That was… something.”
Bucky let out a breath through his nose. Slowly, his hand eased away, though his fingers brushed lightly against your side before leaving entirely. “Sorry.”
You turned to look at him. “Are you?”
He hesitated. Then, in a rare moment of honesty, he admitted, “No.”
You bit your lip, heartbeat unsteady. “So… am I actually taken?”
Bucky exhaled sharply, dragging a hand down his face. “I don’t know,” he muttered. “Do you want to be?”
You didn’t answer right away. Instead, you stepped forward, closing the space he’d left between you.
“I wouldn’t mind,” you murmured.
Bucky swallowed hard. His eyes flickered to your lips. His fingers twitched at his side like he wanted to touch you again.
Before either of you could do anything about it, Sam’s voice rang out from across the way.
“Hey, lovebirds! We’ve got work to do!”
You pulled back, trying not to grin. Bucky just sighed.
“This is your fault,” he muttered.
You smirked. “If you say so, boyfriend.”
Bucky groaned, but the tips of his ears burned red. And you had a feeling that, jealous or not, he wasn’t going to let the title go.
Not anymore.

wuh oh! i shouldn't have posted about THE CREATURE on main! now people think it is some type of enemy or adversary to us when in reality it's more like an extremely misguided and detrimental ally doing its best to help but in a really annoying way and whom i personally dislike!! it's a persecutor in the way where it's trying to help solve the problem of Super Bad Stress in the most efficient way xe knows without really being able to conceptualize Why it's bad. like i still hate that guy bc it's really frustrating to share brainspace with (oh we've encountered a minor inconvenience at a bad time, we should kill ourselves about it) but my personal opinion has little bearing on the role xe actually serves within the system.
#like its an extremely unhelpful way to try and help#but i chatted with it on the way to get dinner and like.#xe's a beast in a cage and it just wants Out. that is essentially its only goal. if its leg was caught in a trap it would chew that leg off#and that's the mindset it's running with#most immediate and quickest solution to present problem with complete disregard for Any long term consequence.

clawing at the door

ghoap x reader. jealousy. bisexual soap. bisexual ghost. emotionally constipated ghost. manipulative soap. ghost likes em thick. lightly explicit. MDNI. ao3

When Ghost first sees you and Soap together, his jealousy is hard to parse. He doesn't quite understand what he's feeling.
On the one hand, Occam's Razor. Simple explanations usually prove the truest. Soap is his boy, has been since Las Almas, and you are an interloper in their hard-won dynamic. Ghost does not absorb others into his life lightly, even less so then he allows them to strongarm themselves beneath the mask. He doesn't particularly like people, isn't really fond of their tendency toward abject mortality.
Soap's strong arms are a rare exception. And Ghost has nearly died too many times not to admire a nice round ass when he sees one—the kind that glistens and quivers beneath the weak spray of a communal shower. Some part of him has always kind of supposed the sergeant had been showing off specifically for him, too, when he dropped trousers and moaned like a whore when the hot water started flowing.
The boy certainly dogs his steps like that's the case.
Then, you: showing up on base one day, Soap's hand spread wide and possessive on the small of your back. Jewel-bright eyes following your every move. Blush high and feverish on his boy's cheekbones every time you throw half a smile his way.
So it's envy. So it's a crush, unrequited.
Simple problem, simple solution. Getting over by getting under and all that. There are apps for every heartache, and plenty of hard-bodied gym rats out there tripping over themselves to bottom for a brute like him, who can actually throw them around.
Not two minutes after making his profile (military, six-five, top), likely candidates start filing themselves into his inbox. Some part of his ego is gratified, at least. The influx of taint pics certainly confirms for him that his vanity, in fact, is justified, even if the last thing he wants to see is some random stranger's asshole.
He messages a jacked brunette with brown eyes and dimples, who led instead with a comparatively tame "hey big guy," and lets him pick the bar where they'll meet up.
And it's...fine.
The guy is fine. Equally as attractive in person as on camera, with curly hair and short stubble. He's there before Ghost, and directs an easygoing smile at him when he drops onto a stool at the bar beside him.
He doesn't even question the mask, though his eyes linger on it, half-lidded, the kind of way that suggests he's figuring something out about himself that he hadn't considered before. Not the first time it's happened for Ghost.
The problem with fine is that Ghost can't work up even much of a chub talking to him. The guy has a nasally voice and a friendly attitude that makes Ghost's teeth go numb from the sweetness. When they sequester in the dingy pub bathroom, the guy goes to his knees like an angel, and Ghost's cock actually softens more, thoroughly bored already with the notion of this random guy’s mouth on it.
The problem is, Soap would bust Ghost's balls for this.
Sure, Ghost could get him on his knees. Soap is a good boy, he'll take an order if he's given one. But he's also a fucking brat, and the moment Ghost pulled his cock out Soap would immediately start complaining about it.
Too big, too ugly, not hard enough, and when was the last time Ghost washed that fucking thing? How romantic, LT, making him suck Ghost off in a pub bathroom, hasn't he ever heard of good old-fashioned wooing?
He'd complain, Ghost knows, because he'd want, more than anything, for Ghost to just cut through the bullshit and shove straight down his throat. He'd run his mouth because the only thing he wants Ghost to do is shut him the fuck up, for once, and make him actually work for the praise they both know he's so desperate for.
And Ghost would give it. If Soap earned it. The fight isn't about winning.
This guy isn't putting up a fight. He tries nicely, licks all over the limp-hanging head and pale glans, but Ghost ends up making some excuse—Dad has cancer, Mom died, the usual—and leaving him there still on his knees.
He deletes the apps. He can invest in a fleshlight, and find some porn star another with enough of a resemblance to be functional.
Less of a hassle for everyone involved.
Problem solved.

And then he encounters you again.
You're walking out of the supermarket one night, with two huge bags over your shoulders, digging through your purse out in front of you. He has to stop you with one hand on your shoulder to keep you from running into him.
The evening is warm; your shirt is a thin camisole with little elastic straps. His palm meets your bare skin, and finds it soft and dewy with a little sweat.
You look up, startled, blinking as if caught in a bright light.
"Oh," you say, "Ghost, hello!"
"Bird," he grunts, wondering why he's surprised that you recognize him.
He pulls his hand away, and still feels the imprint of your body heat in its grooves.
"Sorry, I should have been looking," you say, smiling. It's a friendly expression, open and innocent—a daisy's petals spread on a clear day. "Johnny's making beef wellington tonight when he's off duty, so I went and got everything."
Ghost frowns. What kind of boyfriend lets his girl do so much heavy lifting?
He helps you carry the bags to your car. He's jealous, not an asshole. You thank him with a breezy laugh when he closes the hatchback—
"I'm sure Johnny wouldn't mind if you stopped by for dinner," you say, folding your arms across your ribcage. It presses your tits together as you cup your elbows in your hands, pronouncing the line of your cleavage with an uncomfortable eloquence.
"Busy," Ghost says immediately, staring very hard into your eyes. "Thanks."
You shrug, unperturbed. "Anytime. Good night!"
He stands in the carpark for a full five minutes after you drive away. He thinks he can feel his own heartbeat throbbing through the palm he touched you with.
Well, then.
Bereft of any opportunity to get to know you—as if it would even be appropriate—Ghost stalks social media until he finds you through Soap's Instagram. Your account is private, so he sends a follow request, expectations very low that you'd allow someone with a blank sky for a profile picture and only one post on their feed to follow you, "sghostriley" notwithstanding.
But—you do. And suddenly he has a decade of material to peruse, beginning with your last year of secondary school and leading all the way up to present, the most recent photo one of you and Soap at the top of some mountain, grinning at the camera in your hiking gear.
You don't post very many pictures of yourself, he finds. Instead you document interesting food you eat or make, crafts you're working on, nice scenery you caption with variations of "saw this on my walk today :)". It's all very domestic, sweet in a way without being saccharine.
Soft, really. Totally separated from the hard edges of the world he and Soap routinely throw themselves along.
And yet, honest in a way that makes your version of the world feel more like the real one, and his and Soap’s the nightmare.
Ghost hasn't been with a girl—let alone been interested in one—in years. It isn't that the attraction had ever died, exactly. Rather, it simply became so complex, so twisted in on itself and trapped beneath years of grown-over scar tissue, that he'd made an unconscious decision never to confront it. He ignored Price’s stories about his wife’s antics at home, Gaz’s perennial heartbreak after strings of failed dates—
Soap’s lurid bragging about the women he’s taken home from various pubs.
(Were you one of those pub girls?)
So, here it is now, confronting him instead. Reminding him, in a pretty camisole, just how very much it exists.
In the carpark, there’d been a bead of sweat slipping down your neck as you’d waved him goodbye. He finds himself wondering how long it would’ve taken to slide all the way down to the slope of your breast, if he didn’t catch it with his tongue first.
He continues through your Instagram. The majority of your selfies show up, he guesses, after the beginning of your relationship with Soap.
Earlier pictures of you make your discomfort obvious. You don't like the way you look, and it shows in the tension on your face when confronted with a camera lens. But later on, you gain confidence. Your expressions are softer as you show off a new haircut or glasses.
And when the first picture of you with Soap shows up, it's like seeing someone glowing from the inside.
Your head is tucked into the juncture of his shoulder and neck. The smile on your face is soft, small and lovely in how little you're clearly thinking about it.
You're happy.
It floors him. A happy girl, settled into the embrace of a man who’s made her feel that way.
Piece of work, he is. Could ogle another man's ass without shame, but present him with that man’s girl and suddenly it upends his entire sense of self.
Some old cunt psychiatrist would have a field day analyzing him.
Ghost skips the apps and, following in Soap’s footsteps, heads back to the pubs.
It’s worse.
Not that he doesn’t have options sidling up to him, that is. It seems like all he has to do is sit at the bar and wait, and women circle their way into his orbit, not really talking to him but letting him know, simply by hovering, that they’d love for him to talk to them. Batting their lashes, laughing near him seemingly at nothing.
Up to him to make the first move then. It seems to him like the rules haven't changed over his long absence from the dating pool.
Therein lay the snag—Ghost doesn't know how to talk to women. Not that way, the way one says without saying it that he'd like to take her home and bend her over the back of his couch. Say that to a man at the right bar and that was his evening sorted, but Ghost has a feeling that won't play as well among people with cat-shaped brass knuckles on their keychains.
He's not much of a talker, period. Soap yaps enough to fill in his side of the conversation whenever they're in the field. And you...well, he doesn't know about you. Ghost has the uncomfortable feeling that he'd try for you, and fail miserably.
The bartender slides a drink in front of him, distracting him from his agonizing. When Ghost gives him a questioning look, he nods in the direction of a table behind him.
One of the barflies has made the first move.
She winks at him when he raises the glass at her. She’s pretty—her dark makeup makes her eyes look angular and mysterious, and her red dress is tight, thin, and low-cut. Her exposed chest shimmers, as if she dusted some sort of powder across her collarbones before making her way here.
Sparkly and colorful, like a lure on a line. Ready to hook something and pull it in.
(Your camisole had been threadbare and lined with cheap, fraying lace. A favorite of yours, probably, something you wore when you wanted to be comfortable, and didn’t care who thought what about it.)
Ghost notices other men are eyeing the woman, and a couple of them send nasty glares his way. That is, they do before promptly averting their gazes once they see what he looks like.
He can have this, then, if he wants it. He just has to reach out and take it.
He feels your warmth in the palm of his hand again. The breeze of your laugh brushes his cheek with a soft touch.
He sends the woman one of her own drink, drops forty quid on the bar, and leaves without looking back.

Another dinner invite comes his way, this time courtesy of Soap himself.
“She told me she met you at the store,” Soap says, one afternoon when they’re in the changing room. “Really nice of you to help her out, LT.”
“You weren’t there to do it,” Ghost grumbles. Soap has been prancing around shirtless for fifteen minutes, faffing about while Ghost waits for him to leave so he can adjust his erection.
“I didn’t tell her to get everything!” the sergeant protests. “She just went and did it herself.” Then Soap’s eyes go all dreamy and stupid. “She’s grand, isn’t she.”
Ghost grumbles again, something noncommittal.
“Anyway, dinner’s at seven, and I’ll send you the address,” says Soap, pulling a thin t-shirt over his head. Ghosts watches him yank the hem down over his pecs, covering the toned plane of his abs.
Soap winks at him. “See you there, Ghost.”
Ghost grunts.
Soap does, in fact, see him there.
He goes out of resignation. Or maybe with some notion that seeing Soap and you together again will finally vanquish whatever sits on his chest so heavily whenever he thinks of the two of you.
Soap’s the one to answer the door. “There he is, the braw wee bastard!”
“Soap.”
From the looks of it, it’s your flat. It’s nicely decorated without being too over-designed, something warm and comfortable and welcoming. When Ghost steps inside, he’s hit immediately with the smell of seared pancetta and garlic.
The sergeant leads him through the flat. Ghost has a bottle of wine under one arm, having remembered at the last minute he should probably bring something along. You’re in the kitchen, stirring a pot on the stove.
“Hi, Ghost!” you chirp when you look over your shoulder. “Ooh, good, that’s drinks settled. Hope you like bolognese. It’s all I know how to make.”
“S’fine,” Ghost says, which he would say even if bolognese made him violently ill.
“Ach, you can make more than that,” Soap says, retrieving three long-stemmed glasses from a cabinet. “Pour a nice glass of water.”
You snatch the dish towel hanging from the oven handle and give it a snap in the general direction of Soap’s ass. He laughs and dances out of the way.
“There’s a bottle opener in the island drawer, Ghost,” you say cheerfully. You're pretty tonight, in a loose t-shirt and soft-looking joggers. Casual, like you don't have a guest over at all.
Like it's just a night in with your boyfriend.
Ghost pops the cork as Soap sets the glasses down. After he pours, the sergeant delivers a glass to his girlfriend, and there’s a brief moment of quiet as everyone sips and the sauce on the stove bubbles.
It’s all so nice and normal as to make Ghost’s hackles raise just in anticipation, although he knows there’s no reason for it. Truthfully, he almost hadn’t come. The thought of you and Soap, and Soap and you, in the same room, together, a unit, had made his stomach clench up so tight that he though he might not be able to get any food down.
But some part of him needed to come, and see this. Test out Pavlov’s theory, to see if enough negative reinforcement could break him of this borderline manic fixation. If he could associate Soap and you with romantic nausea, and nothing more, maybe he could finally stop jerking off every night to no satisfaction.
Because he had, in fact, found a porn star who looked like Soap. More tattoos, and a buzz cut rather than a mohawk, but Ghost couldn’t be picky.
The real shock had been to find that this proxy often partnered with a girl who looked enough like you to be uncanny. Too skinny, definitely, but in the one video Ghost had watched of them together, he could have sworn, as the lookalike reamed her from behind—
That it was you looking at him over your shoulder.
Looking at Soap. Or, looking at Ghost, behind him.
At that moment in the playback Ghost had come so hard, cock blazing red and raw in his hand, that the notion had liquified a little. So he couldn’t be sure what the thought had originally meant.
He hadn’t been brave enough to watch another.
“This isn’t bad,” Soap says after tasting the wine. “Nothin’ on a good whisky, mind.”
“Don’t neg your lieutenant, Johnny,” you say. “This is good, Ghost, thank you.”
Hearing Johnny fall from your lips so casually threads something uncomfortable between Ghost’s intestines. Uncomfortable, because he likes it.
Had Soap told you to call him that? Or had you decided on it all on your own? Did Soap think of Ghost whenever you said his name? Did he think of you whenever Ghost did?
“Simon’s fine,” he replies.
It escapes him before he even thinks about it. The same way he’d taken his mask off in Las Almas and looked directly at Soap, wondering in some hidden part of himself if the sergeant was impressed.
“That’s a nice name,” you say, swirling the wine in your glass. You take another sip, closing your eyes to savor it, and then, tilting your head like a little bird in thought, you pour a stream of it from the glass into your pasta sauce.
“Suits him, aye?” Soap says, side-eyeing Ghost with amusement. “Right posh name he’s got for a big scary bugger. Hidden depths, him.”
“Yeah, unlike you,” you snark, stirring.
Soap slaps a big hand over his heart. “Ach, lass, you wound me always.”
“Someone has to keep you humble,” you say, grinning. There’s a charming twinkle in your eyes.
“You gonna let ‘er get away with that, sergeant?”
He surprises himself by saying it. But something in the way you and Soap bicker—absent of the usual sugary drivel, as if the two of you have skipped over the honeymoon phase and stuck the landing right into stable commitment—invites him in.
It's magnetic, almost. It seizes the spinning needle in his brain, draws it to a standstill. Evens out the landscape, so he knows where he can go.
“You’re absolutely right, LT,” says Soap, who smacks his lips, sets his wineglass aside, and bum-rushes you.
You shriek as he captures you in both arms, lifting you off the floor and whirling you around—both the spoon in one hand and the glass in the other fling drops of red and white absolutely everywhere. And then you’re giggling as Soap wedges his face between your neck and shoulder and shakes his head like a dog, probably biting down.
Soap growls; a big smile takes over your face, eyes squeezed shut as you laugh breathlessly. The sergeant’s broad, brown forearms have yours pinned up against your chest, pressing your breasts together.
“Not fair, Ghost!” you exclaim as Soap’s growling noises turn into obnoxiously loud kisses. “No pulling rank in my house!”
“Two against one, hen, you’re outnumbered,” Soap counters. “What should we do with this one, eh, LT?”
“See if I ever cook for you two again, is what!” you protest, still grinning with delight. You kick your legs to no effect.
Soap, also grinning, slots his face back into your neck. You giggle again, complaining that it tickles.
Some incomplete circuit finally connects.
Order given. Girlfriend “punished.”
Soap making you laugh because Ghost told him to.
Not one. Not the other. Both.
“Think we can let ‘er off the hook this time,” he says, feeling dazed.
The pictures on your Instagram, with you and Soap together. The both of you, smiling together, wrapped around each other, standing at the top of a mountain and grinning what the two of you get to share.
Soap's hand spread on your back.
“Aye, sir,” Soap says, setting you down. You’re still laughing a little as you go to check the sauce, and Soap finds a towel to clean up the mess he made. Ghost reels in the meanwhile.
There’s an imprint of Soap’s teeth on your neck.
They wouldn’t be there if Ghost hadn’t sicced Soap on you.
He’s still reeling as you begin plating dinner, and Soap sets out the silverware. When everyone sits down to eat, the sergeant tops up everyone’s drinks.
“I hope you like it,” you say to Ghost, setting his plate in front of him. There's a shyness to you, a verity to your concern for his opinion.
“Oh, he will,” Soap says, grinning.
He trails the tips of his fingers along the back of your arm as he directs that jewel-blue gaze at Ghost. It's sharper than Ghost has ever noticed before—
“The LT has good taste. Don’t you, Ghost?”
And with his other hand, he raises his glass to the knowing smirk on his lips.

this happened to me yesterday ^^
but uhm, I did read this completely wrong so the ending turned out like this
and I.... did laugh... thinking that was your intention until going back

Hi! Been awhile! Here's a story about something that happened last week.
Feel like Tumblr's formatting isn't ideal for this longer comic- Gotta click on the first image and swipe through. I hope it doesn't read like two vertical comics side by side lol 🙏
#my solution to longer comics was to post then reblog immediately with the rest of the comic#then delete the original#dont know if that messes with tumblr post findability tho#i'll have to run an experiment on my main next time to check

Self manhandling.
Either someone in Gotham had a really grim sense of humor, or something else was happening, because the longer this was going on, the more stressed the Batfam became.
Not only them, but a lot of civilians.
It was horrifying, you would ask yourself why somebody was doing this- and here it is again!
The corpse of a teenage boy was being dragged around Gotham.
The poor guy was being hauled on the asphalt by an invisible force, grabbing him from his hoodie, little by little.
The vigilantes tried to do anything! Take the body somewhere safe, trying to find his real identity, exorcising whatever was dragging it, following it, but the damn guy would just disappear suddently!
They were sure the boy was dead; they were certain he was made of flesh and bones, but he wasn't rotting, not even months after the first sighting.
It was so grim, yet so frustrating!
.
.
.
Danny had fucked up.
Danny had fucked up sooooo much...
It was just a fight with Nocturne, not even a big one! It was just a small, small argument, but the guy immediately maimed him!
He was now in a ghost-induced coma (aka all vital signs untraceable, but no shutting down of organs), outside his body, and far, far from home.
He knew people were staring, but he couldn't do much about it, since he had to move around to find a solution somehow.
. . .
Also, what the fuck was going on with people running around in colorful, skin tight costumes?

tw - non/con, manipulation, mentions of breeding, and unbalanced power dynamics.
Snow Leopard!Satoru, who's ecstatic the day his owner, Suguru, brings you home. He's the pinnacle of a spoiled pet, constantly showered in toys and treats and affection, but his owner's a busy man, and he tends to sulk when left home alone. He's had other companions before, another leopard hybrid who nearly killed him before being released back into the wild and a black panther who somehow proved to be a worse influence on Satoru than Satoru was on her, but you're supposed to be more permanent solution, another hosuepet to keep him company when Suguru can't. You're a sweet little housecat, all wide-eyes and raised ears, but still, Suguru wouldn't be surprised if you're begging to go back to the shelter less than an hour after meeting your new roommate.
Snow Leopard!Satoru, who falls in love with you immediately. Suguru practically has to keep him in a chokehold while you explore your new home, eventually curling up on your new bed. Satoru's on top of you as soon as he gets loose, purring obnoxiously while he runs his bristled tongue over your cheek. Suguru's half-convinced that your first day's going to end with bloody claws and bandages, but you only nuzzle into his chest and knead at the blankets underneath you. Satoru's a difficult cat to put up with, and Suguru's relieved that you, at least, find him tolerable.
Snow Leopard!Satoru, who's absolutely massive compared to you. The tips of your pointed ears barely reach his collarbones, and your wrist is only as thick as his fluffy tail. His favorite hobby quickly becomes carrying you from room to room despite your softly mewled protests, and he's not happy unless he's pressed against you as closely as possible. He used to force himself into Suguru's lap whenever possible, but now, he's unbearable unless you're sitting pretty in his. He doesn't even complain when you lose your temper and dig your little fangs (barely half the size of his - a poor imitation of a real predator's) into his arm, just grinning as he tugs at your ears and pinches your cheeks. He's not exactly a wild animal, but he's still at the top of his food chain. You're not quite a mouse, but you might as well be, compared to him.
Snow Leopard!Satoru, who's calling you his mate after less than a full month. You don't know what it means, often parroting it back as more of a question than a term of endearment, and Suguru just brushes it off as Satoru being deliberately irritating. He keeps it up, though. even after you start refusing to respond to it.
Snow Leopard!Satoru, who starts introducing you to new "games". You know you don't stand a chance against him, but somehow, he always manages to goad you into roughhousing, into squirming as he pins you under his full weight. He likes to dangle things above your head, to see how long it takes your instincts to get the best of you before your chest is pressed against his and you're pouting so adorably as you jump and bat at his hand. Sometimes, when you fall asleep mid-grooming session, he'll let his mouth wander lower than it should, and you'll wake up to his tongue lapping over your chest, his face buried between your thighs in a way that leaves you teary-eyed and warm. You've tried to tell Suguru, but you always get embarrassed and end up mumbling something as vague as 'Satoru's being mean to me, again.' In the end, Satoru only ever gets a slap on the wrist and a new reason to tease you, next time Suguru turns his back.
Snow Leopard!Satoru, who fucks you whenever Suguru isn't home. He planned on waiting for your first heat (delayed by your shelter suppressants and the stress of a new home), and he knows he's not supposed to, but he just can't get enough of having your smaller body curled up underneath his, your tail thrashing from side to side as he lazily rolls his hips against yours. You tend to whine, at first, to go on and on about how weird it feels and how much it hurts, but as soon he gets his cock inside of you, all those complaints tend to go away. It's almost funny, how easily your stupid little kitty mind gets all hazy and cockdrunk. He always loves you, but he loves you most when you're drooling and purring for his cum, begging him to breed you properly between hitched moans.
Snow Leopard!Satoru, who's not even mad when Suguru catches him bouncing your half-conscious, fucked-out body on his cock. He wants to be the best possible mate for you, and he couldn't do that if he wasn't willing to show you off <3

DP x DC Prompt
Demon Twin AU
Growing up in the League of Assassins, Damian and Danyal were aware of the possibility of encountering clones of themselves or each other. They even encountered a few League made clones during training so that they could learn how to identify and take down these threats if an enemy ever tried to use them. The solution they came up with was a series of codes. Simple phrases and gestures that would seem innocuous to anyone else but would tell them that the person standing beside them was, infact, who they claimed they were. They never let anyone know what these codes were either, so that the clones couldn't have knowledge of the codes artificially implanted. If there was any concern of a code being cracked they stopped using it. The system worked perfectly. Then Danyal died.
Damian didn't need a code to tell him that he would never fight side by side with his brother again.
Damian never forgot about the codes though. So when the League started sending clones of himself to infiltrate his family, he told them about this method and created new codes for them to use to tell if it was really him. He never reused the codes he made with Danyal, those were theirs no matter the fact that nobody would ever do them back.
Danny knew he was adopted. He knew that the Fentons had found him while on a ghost hunt and that he was in incredibly bad shape when they did. They had tried to find his parents, but when they were unsuccessful they decided they couldn't leave him alone and took him home with them. He didn't remember anything before that and while he always wondered what had happened, why he was all alone and injured with no family to be found, he was happy with the Fentons. He knew that he had two adopted parents and a sister who loved him and decided that he didn't care about whatever came before that. Then Danny died.
Well- half died, and doing so returned all the memories that were locked away by his amnesia. He remembered the League of Assassins and the mission that went wrong leaving him presumed dead and his twin. He was no idiot, he recognized his twin no matter what traffic light costume he wore, so he immediately realized that Damian had become Robin and that Batman must be their father. He wanted to go find them, tell Damian that he was alive, but with all the ghost craziness that ensued following the portal opening, as well as learning to control his new ghost powers, he just didn't have time.
The opportunity presented itself one day when he was ambushed by the GIW. They caught him off guard and managed to get some critical shots on him. He fled to a secluded alley to assess his wounds and make a plan but didn't account for the Fentons to have caught sight of the interaction and have followed him. Danny decided to enter his human form and try to sneak around the GIW agents crawling the town until he got home, then lay low until he figured something out. The Fentons entered the alley right as he transformed. They were shocked, but were willing to listen to his explanation before resorting to weapons. They were horrified by what they learned and reassured Danny that they would never have hunted him if they knew.
Before they could discuss it further, they were interrupted by the sounds of GIW agents closing in on their location. The Fentons told Danny to run, to find somewhere safe. Said that they would work on de-establishing the GIW from the inside out and repealing the Anti Ecto Acts and would find him again when it was safe. With the promise that they would keep everyone safe, Danny gave the Fentons a quick hug, transformed, and took flight. All he had to do now was make the trip to Gotham and find his brother.
Damian was in disbelief. How cruel of Mother, how desperate she must be, to resort to this. Sending a clone claiming to be Danyal? That he had survived and was now seeking asylum? He would make her regret toying with him like this. But first, he must put this clone business to rest. How simple it is to prove this deceit.
Damian clenched his right hand into a fist. Once, twice, pause for a second, a third time. To anyone else it would look like an anxious tic or an expression of anger but to Danyal it would elicit a certain response. The clone's eyes widened at the gesture, then a soft look came over their face. They lifted their right hand to rub at the back of their neck, then brought it up their head to ruffle their hair twice before finally letting it drop to the side. Damian was in disbelief for a different reason now. There was no way- It couldn't be. The boy across from him then raised their left hand to their mouth, cleared their throat, then patted their chest twice. With shaky hands, Damian sneezed into his left elbow then rubbed his nose three times. Damian was unable to keep the emotion out of his voice when he finally spoke.
"Brother."

Easy Money | sugar daddy!harry
Summary: What started as a simple transaction—a way to make some quick cash—turns into something far more complicated when Harry refuses to keep things strictly business. He spoils you, adores you, falls for you. But when he finally confesses his feelings, you remind him this was never supposed to be real. The only problem? Somewhere along the way, it became exactly that.
Wordt Count: 8k
A/N: This was a very special request from one of my absolute favourite readers (you know who you are 😉). I had way too much fun writing this, so if you find yourself blushing, looking away from your screen, or needing a cold shower—just know, that was entirely the goal. Enjoy, you little troublemakers.
Warnings:
Smut (and a lot of it)
Sugar daddy arrangement turning very real
Power struggles in bed (both of them want control and it gets heated)
Dom!Harry / Bratty!Reader dynamics
Lots of teasing, dirty talk, and tension so thick you could choke on it
Angst & emotional turmoil (Harry catches feelings first and it hurts)
Over-the-top romance (he spoils her, worships her, and claims her)
Explicit language
Mentions of financial struggles
Soft, clingy aftercare that will make you feel things
Read responsibly. Or don’t. Just don’t blame me when Harry Styles takes over your brain.

You sigh, thumb hovering over the notification before swiping it away. As if ignoring it will make the problem disappear.
It doesn’t.
Bills are due. Rent is due. Your student loans are a monster looming over your shoulder, their presence suffocating no matter how much you try to ignore them. Every paycheck disappears the second it hits your account, and no matter how many shifts you pick up or how much you cut back, it’s never enough. The math simply doesn’t math.
You’ve tried everything.
Taking extra hours at work? Done. You’re already stretched thin, running on caffeine and sheer willpower.
Side hustles? Tried. You’ve scoured every "easy ways to make money" list on the internet. You’ve filled out mind-numbing surveys for pennies, signed up for focus groups that never picked you, even considered selling pictures of your feet, only to chicken out the second you realized you had no idea where to even start.
Asking your parents for help? Not an option. The thought alone makes your stomach twist with shame. You’re an adult. You should be able to handle this.
But you’re drowning.
And tonight, after another long shift, after tipping your last few dollars to the bartender in a desperate attempt to pretend you have your life together, you lie in bed, scrolling through your phone, searching for something. A solution. A miracle. A quick fix that doesn’t exist.
Your searches grow more desperate. How to make money fast. How to pay rent when you’re broke. How to get a sugar daddy—
You pause.
The words stare back at you from the search bar, your heart skipping a beat as you realize you actually typed it. You weren’t even thinking. Just letting your thoughts spill out onto the screen, every insane idea passing through your exhausted brain.
But now the idea is there.
And worse—it isn’t immediately repulsive.
It’s not like you don’t know what a sugar baby is. You’ve heard the stories, seen the jokes. Older, rich men paying younger women just to be in their presence. Some arrangements are physical, sure, but plenty aren’t.
And it’s not like you’d actually do it.
…Right?
Your finger hovers over the search results, heartbeat picking up. You tell yourself you’re just curious. Just looking.
Twenty minutes later, you’re staring at the App Store. A bright pink logo sits on your screen, the words SUGAR DADDY APP – FIND YOUR ARRANGEMENT TODAY! flashing below it.
You chew on your lip, pulse thrumming in your ears.
This is insane.
This is absolutely insane.
But what if—
What if it’s just casual meetups? Just talking. Just dinner. Some of these girls are getting their rent paid just for going on dates. What if that could be you? What if this is the answer?
What’s the harm in looking?
Before you can second-guess yourself, your thumb presses download.
The next few minutes pass in a blur. The app opens, welcoming you with a sleek, luxurious design; gold accents, elegant fonts, a promise of “mutually beneficial arrangements.” The signup process is shockingly easy. You pick a username, upload a picture (nothing scandalous, just a cute selfie), and fill out your bio.
“Young, fun, and a great conversationalist. Looking for someone who appreciates good company. Nothing serious.”
That should do.
Messages start coming in immediately.
And it’s exactly what you expected.
Older men with awkward, borderline sleazy messages. Some are direct, offering money in exchange for explicit favors. Others try to be charming but still give off a transactional vibe. None of them make you feel… good.
You sigh, already regretting this. Maybe this was a stupid idea. Maybe you should just—
MATCH!
A notification pops up at the top of your screen. You glance at it, ready to roll your eyes, until you see the name.
Harry.
You blink. That’s… different.
You click on his profile, expecting the same thing you’ve seen all night. But your breath catches.
He’s young. Well—not young, but younger than the rest. Late thirties, maybe early fourties. Sharp jawline, green eyes, a dimple that softens his otherwise serious expression. Dressed in a crisp, expensive-looking suit, but his tattoos peek out from beneath the sleeves, a contradiction that instantly intrigues you.
He doesn’t look like he belongs here.
But then again… neither do you.
Your pulse quickens as you stare at his profile, your fingers hesitating over the keyboard.
What do you even say to someone like him?
Your fingers hover over the keyboard, hesitation creeping in. A simple hi feels too basic. A joke might come off as trying too hard. But before you can overthink yourself into oblivion, a new notification pops up.
Harry sent you a message.
Your stomach flips. You exhale, steadying yourself before clicking to open it.
"Didn’t expect to find someone like you on here."
You blink. That’s… not what you expected. There’s no awkward proposition, no sleazy opener, no immediate offer of money in exchange for something degrading. It’s casual, almost intrigued. He follows up before you can reply.
"Not complaining, though. You look like you have good taste in wine."
A laugh escapes you before you can stop it. It’s charming. Simple. Not overdone. And weirdly enough it works.
Your eyes flicker back to his profile. It really is almost too good to be true. His pictures look professional, but not in the this was stolen from someone else’s Instagram way. They’re polished but natural. He’s sitting in a sleek black car in one, leaning against a marble bar in another. His bio is short, to the point.
“Successful entrepreneur. Generous. Looking for good company, good conversation, and good wine.”
There’s no cringey flexing. No desperate attempt to lure someone in. Just confidence. And it makes you nervous.
Still, you answer.
"I do. But I don’t let just anyone buy me a glass."
A beat. Then:
"Let me take you to dinner and prove I’m worth it."
Your stomach knots. You tell yourself you should be skeptical, that this is exactly how people end up in shady situations, but… there’s something different about him. He doesn’t reek of desperation. He’s not trying to corner you into anything. If anything, he almost seems amused.
Still, you’re cautious.
"That depends on the restaurant."
His response is instant.
"Le Jardin."
Your breath catches. That’s not just a restaurant. That’s the restaurant. The kind of place that has a six-month waitlist and a menu with no prices because if you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
Before you can even process it, another message pops up.
"I’ll pay you $3,000 just to show up."
You sit up so fast your vision tilts.
Three. Thousand. Dollars.
For dinner? For a couple of hours of your time?
Your heart pounds. Your rent is barely half of that. That kind of money would give you breathing room, let you live for a moment instead of just surviving.
Your fingers tighten around your phone. Your brain is screaming at you to say yes. But a small part of you hesitates.
You’re not stupid. You know nothing comes for free.
"And what do you expect in return?" you finally ask.
His reply is simple.
"Dinner. Conversation. That’s all."
You swallow. You want to believe him. And against your better judgment… you do.
Your fingers shake slightly as you type out your answer.
"Alright. I’m in."
You set the phone down, staring at the screen as the reality of what you just agreed to sinks in.
You tell yourself it’s just transactional.
No expectations.
No strings attached.
So why does it already feel like something else?
You shove that thought aside as you get ready.
You’ve never been to a place like Le Jardin, never even been within walking distance of it, but you know what kind of people dine there. The rich, the powerful, the ones who don’t check price tags or worry about overdraft fees. You’re not one of them, and it makes your stomach twist as you stand in front of your closet, trying to figure out what to wear.
You settle on a sleek black dress—nothing too extravagant, but elegant enough to blend in. You keep your makeup simple, your jewelry minimal, but when you step in front of the mirror, something about your reflection feels different. Almost like you belong in this world. Like you could make someone believe it, even if only for one night.
The car Harry sends for you pulls up right on time. The driver is professional, dressed in a crisp suit, and doesn’t say much beyond a polite, “Miss?” as he opens the door. The ride is smooth, the city lights blurring past the tinted windows, and the entire time, your fingers twitch in your lap.
You tell yourself this is just a dinner. Just a business transaction. Just easy money.
But then you step into the restaurant, and your breath catches.
Le Jardin is breathtaking. Soft golden lighting, high ceilings, waiters gliding between tables like they’re floating. Everything about it screams exclusivity, like you’ve just stepped into a world not meant for people like you.
And then you see him.
Harry.
He stands as soon as he spots you, and for a second, the air shifts.
You were prepared for him to be attractive—you’ve seen his pictures, you knew what to expect—but this? This is something else entirely.
He’s tall, broad, the tailored lines of his suit clinging to him in a way that makes your mouth dry. Dark curls, sharp jaw, green eyes that flicker with something unreadable as he watches you cross the room.
And then he smiles.
Not a smirk, not a cocky I-have-you-right-where-I-want-you grin, but something softer. Something that makes his dimple crease and his eyes warm.
It’s almost disarming.
He pulls out your chair before you can even reach for it. “You look stunning,” he murmurs, his voice a low hum that slides down your spine.
You blink at him, thrown off. You expected arrogance, maybe a smooth line or two, but instead, he sounds almost… genuine.
You let him push in your chair, smoothing your hands over your dress as you settle in. “I try.”
He chuckles, a quiet thing, and as he takes his seat across from you, you realize he hasn’t stopped looking at you.
Not in the way the other men on the app did, like they were already calculating what they’d get out of you. No, this is different. It’s like he’s trying to figure you out, like he’s curious.
The waiter appears, offering an expensive bottle of wine without asking if you’d like to see the menu first. You don’t even know how to pronounce the name, but Harry just nods, thanking the server before turning back to you.
“So,” he says, resting his elbows on the table, fingers laced together. “Tell me something about you.”
You tilt your head. “Like what?”
“Anything.” He shrugs. “Something that’s not in your profile.”
You hesitate. You could give him something basic, something easy. But for some reason, you don’t want to.
“I hate tomatoes,” you say, watching for his reaction.
He blinks. Then laughs. A real, full laugh, his head tipping back slightly.
“Alright,” he says, still smiling. “Not what I expected, but I respect it.”
The conversation flows effortlessly after that. He asks questions—genuine ones—not just about you, but your thoughts, your opinions, things that have nothing to do with the arrangement. And he listens. Really listens. Holding eye contact like he’s hanging onto every word.
The food arrives—meals you can’t even begin to describe, flavors so rich you feel out of place eating them. But Harry makes it easy, never letting the moment feel intimidating.
At one point, he cuts a bite of his dish and lifts it toward you.
“Try this.”
You don’t even think twice. You just let him. Let him feed you, his fingers brushing the corner of your lips as you take the bite.
It doesn’t faze you.
But him?
He’s gone.
It’s subtle—the way his jaw tightens slightly, the way his gaze drops to your mouth for half a second longer than necessary—but you catch it. And for some reason, it makes you smile.
Dessert comes, and he reaches across the table, taking your hand in his. His thumb brushes over your knuckles, a soft, absentminded motion, like he doesn’t even realize he’s doing it.
“Can I see you again?” he asks.
The look in his eyes is something you can’t quite place.
You don’t hesitate.
You nod, lips curling slightly.
You’re getting paid, after all.
That’s what you tell yourself when the gifts start rolling in.
At first, they’re subtle. A bottle of perfume left on your doorstep, the kind you’d never splurge on for yourself. The packaging alone screams luxury, sleek and weighty in your hands. You hesitate before opening the attached note, curiosity bubbling in your chest.
“Reminded me of you. - H”
You roll your eyes, but a small smile tugs at your lips. You spritz a little onto your wrist, inhaling. It’s warm, sensual—notes of vanilla and something darker, richer. Expensive.
And then it doesn’t stop.
A few days later, a box arrives. Big this time. Too big for just perfume. You tear through the pristine wrapping to find a designer handbag nestled inside, the leather buttery soft beneath your fingertips.
Your first thought is: What the fuck?
Your second thought is: How much did this cost?
You barely have time to process before your phone buzzes.
Harry: Saw this and thought of you. Hope you like it.
You blink down at the message, at the bag, then back again.
Is this normal? you wonder. Is this what this arrangement is supposed to look like?
You send back a single text.
You: You’re insane.
His response is immediate.
Harry: I like spoiling you.
You don’t know what to do with that, so you just… let it happen.
At first, it’s funny. It feels like playing a role, stepping into a world you don’t belong in. You make jokes to yourself every time another absurdly expensive thing lands in your lap.
Then come the texts.
They start out simple, routine check-ins that could easily be brushed off.
“Morning, love. Hope today isn’t too stressful.”
“Made it home safe?”
“Sleep well?”
But then they start happening like clockwork.
Every morning, without fail—
“Good morning, darling.”
Every night—
“Sleep tight. Dream of me.”
You laugh when you read that one, shaking your head. It’s charming. Ridiculous.
And then there are the touches.
He kisses your forehead when he greets you, like it’s the most natural thing in the world. When he hands you a drink, his fingers brush yours, lingering a fraction longer than necessary. When you walk into a room together, his hand finds the small of your back, warm and steady, like he’s guiding you, claiming you.
The thing is… you don’t encourage it.
But you also don’t stop it.
Because—if you’re being honest?—it’s kind of cute.
And, really, what’s the harm?
You meet up with him again. And again. It becomes a pattern, slipping into your life with alarming ease. Lavish dinners, expensive outings, stolen moments where he looks at you like you’re something rare, something fragile.
Then, one night, it happens.
You’re seated across from him at a dimly lit restaurant, the hum of soft jazz filling the air. Your wine glass is half-full, your plate mostly cleared, and he’s been watching you all night—watching in that way he does, like he’s memorizing you.
And then, almost absentmindedly, he stirs his drink and murmurs, “Didn’t like being away from you today.”
You barely register his words at first, too focused on the way he swirls the amber liquid in his glass.
But then he looks up.
And there’s something there.
Something warm, something vulnerable.
“Missed you,” he says, like it’s obvious. Like it’s the easiest thing in the world.
You snort, reaching out without thinking, patting his cheek lightly. “That’s adorable.”
He huffs out a laugh, but he leans into your touch like a man starved, like it means something to him.
And that’s when it hits you.
Like a freight train, like a sucker punch to the ribs.
You’re in it for the money.
He’s in it for love.
You know it now. You’ve known it for a while, haven’t you? If you really take a second to think about it, you’d realize that every expensive gift, every lingering touch, every look of pure, devoted affection was leading up to this.
You should’ve seen it coming.
Maybe you did, but you ignored it. You chose to believe that this was just fun for him the same way it was fun for you. That he was playing along with the fantasy, indulging in the illusion of something deeper—just because he could.
Because it was easy. Because it was nice.
Because it meant neither of you had to be alone.
But Harry?
Harry was never playing.
And tonight proves it.
The restaurant is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. You knew it would be.
With Harry, everything is excessive. He likes to spoil you, to spend absurd amounts of money just to watch your reaction. It’s fun for him, you think.
But this is different.
This isn’t just extravagant. This is romantic.
The entire penthouse-level dining room is bathed in golden candlelight, the glow flickering off the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the entire city. The table is set for two, an elaborate spread of silverware and delicate wine glasses that you already know you’ll be too nervous to touch. The scent of fresh roses lingers in the air, overwhelming but intentional.
It’s the kind of setup someone arranges when they’re about to propose.
The thought makes something uneasy curl in your stomach.
Harry has been off all evening. Not in an obvious way—no, he’s still charming, still soft-spoken, still perfectly polite.
But he’s quiet.
More than usual.
His touches have been different tonight, too. Deliberate. Lingering. When he pulled out your chair for you, his hands skimmed over your shoulders, his fingers trailing against your skin like he was memorizing the feeling. When he handed you your wine glass, he let his fingertips brush over yours, his touch slow, like he needed it. When you made a joke about the ridiculous amount of forks in front of you, he didn’t just laugh—he looked at you like you’d just hung the moon.
And the way he’s looking at you now?
Like he’s about to say something you won’t be able to take back.
You should stop this.
You should.
But you don’t.
Because you’ve spent so long pretending that this—whatever this is—can exist in some untouchable space. That as long as you don’t acknowledge the shift, as long as you don’t name it, it will stay the same.
But you were wrong.
And Harry?
Harry is about to prove it.
The room is quiet except for the soft hum of music in the background, the flicker of candlelight making shadows dance across his face.
And then—
“I think I’m in love with you.”
Your entire body locks up.
The words don’t register at first, like your brain is physically rejecting them.
Because, no.
No, that’s not what this is.
That’s not what this was ever supposed to be.
You feel your heart hammering against your ribs, something hot crawling up your spine, your throat suddenly too tight, your hands suddenly too still.
You blink.
He’s still looking at you.
Still waiting.
Like this is the moment everything changes. Like this is the moment he’s been waiting for.
Like this is the moment he gets you.
But he doesn’t.
He won’t.
You inhale sharply, your pulse roaring in your ears, the weight of his confession settling onto your chest like a ton of bricks.
His fingers tighten ever so slightly around yours, the warmth of his skin grounding you, holding you there like an anchor. Like he can sense that you’re about to run.
You swallow hard.
“Harry…”
The smile on his lips falters. Barely.
But you notice it.
You notice everything.
The way his fingers twitch. The way his eyes search yours, desperate. The way his jaw clenches, like he already knows.
You have to do this.
You have to say it.
Even if it feels like you’re about to carve him open.
Even if it feels like you’re about to carve yourself open.
You take a breath.
“This isn’t real.”
It’s quiet. A whisper. A tiny, fragile thing.
But it shatters him all the same.
You see it.
The way his entire body stills. The way the warmth drains from his face, his hands slipping away from yours so slowly, so painfully, like he’s forcing himself to let go.
Like he doesn’t want to.
But he has to.
His throat bobs.
His eyes flicker, something shifting in them—something soft breaking, something hopeful dying.
“Not real?” His voice is quiet, hoarse, like it physically hurts him to ask.
You open your mouth.
But nothing comes out.
Because what do you even say?
What could you possibly say to fix this?
To fix him?
To fix the way he’s looking at you like you just ripped the ground out from beneath him?
You weren’t supposed to mean this much to him.
But you do.
And that’s the problem.
The problem isn’t that he loves you.
The problem isn’t that he confessed.
The problem isn’t even that you saw it coming and did nothing to stop it.
The problem is that when he looks at you like this—like this—you don’t want to stop it.
His hands are still cradling your face, his thumbs ghosting over your cheekbones like he’s afraid you’ll disappear if he lets go. Like if he just holds you tightly enough, he can will you into feeling the same way he does.
And maybe he can.
Because something about the way he’s looking at you now makes something deep in your chest ache. Makes something warm coil low in your stomach, makes your fingers tremble against the tablecloth.
You shouldn’t be here.
You shouldn’t still be sitting in this candlelit penthouse with him.
You should say something sharp and final, put an end to whatever this is before it gets worse. Before he gets hurt. Before you get hurt.
But you don’t.
You can’t.
Because his eyes are flickering over your face like he’s memorizing you. Because his lips are parted, his breath shallow, his chest rising and falling unevenly.
Because when he speaks, his voice is hoarse, wrecked.
“It is for me.”
It knocks the air right out of you.
It’s not pleading. It’s not even a question.
It’s just fact.
And you feel it—God, you feel it.
He has never been playing.
Not once.
Not for a second.
This was always real for him.
And now?
Now, it’s real for you, too.
You should pull away.
You should.
You should tell him you’re sorry, that you never meant to let it get this far, that you never meant to make him fall for you.
But instead—
You tilt your chin up, let your gaze lock with his, let the tension between you thicken and twist until there’s only one way this ends.
“Then make me believe it.”
It’s barely a whisper. But he hears it.
You know he hears it.
Because his entire body reacts—his grip on your face tightening, his lips parting, his chest rising with a sharp inhale.
And then, before you can think, before you can breathe, before you can stop yourself—
His mouth crashes onto yours.
It’s not soft. It’s not careful.
It’s desperate.
It’s months of lingering touches, of stolen glances, of suppressed feelings exploding all at once.
His hands slide from your face to your jaw, tilting your head up, angling you the way he wants, the way he needs. His lips move against yours with a hunger you’ve never felt from him before, all-consuming, his body leaning forward until you have no choice but to grab onto his shirt, fisting the fabric in your hands to keep yourself steady.
You gasp against his mouth, and he groans, deep and guttural, swallowing the sound like it belongs to him. Like you belong to him.
And maybe you do.
His hands are everywhere now—sliding down your neck, tracing your collarbone, curling around your waist as he yanks you toward him. The chair scrapes against the floor as he stands, pulling you up with him, pressing your body flush against his.
It’s too much.
It’s not enough.
Your fingers slip into his hair, tugging, and he growls, his teeth grazing your bottom lip, his hands gripping your hips so tightly you know you’ll feel it tomorrow.
You don’t care.
You don’t care about any of it anymore.
Not the arrangement.
Not the money.
Not the way you told yourself this wasn’t real.
Because right now, with his lips hot and insistent against yours, his body pressed against you like he needs you to breathe—
It is.
It is real.
And you want more.
“Harry,” you murmur against his mouth, your fingers tugging at his shirt, nails scraping down his back.
He groans, his forehead dropping to yours, his breath ragged. “Say it again.”
You shiver.
His voice is different now. Lower. Rougher.
More possessive.
You lick your lips, tilting your head, letting your nose brush against his. “Harry.”
It’s all he needs.
He moves fast. One second, you’re standing by the table, and the next, he’s walking you backward, his grip firm but gentle, like he’s guiding you, like he’s making sure you want this.
And you do.
God, you do.
The backs of your legs hit something soft—one of the long velvet couches lining the floor-to-ceiling windows—and then he’s pushing you down, following you without hesitation, his hands bracketing your hips, his body pressing you into the cushions.
His lips move from your mouth to your jaw, then lower, kissing, nipping, claiming.
“You have no fucking idea,” he rasps against your skin, “how long I’ve wanted this.”
You arch beneath him, your breath stuttering.
“How long I’ve waited for you,” he murmurs, his hands slipping beneath the hem of your dress, fingers dragging over bare skin.
Your nails dig into his back.
This is different.
This isn’t just sex.
This isn’t just fulfilling an arrangement.
This is him showing you what he means.
This is you finally admitting what you want.
“Then show me,” you breathe.
He does.
Harry doesn’t hesitate.
He surges forward, claiming your lips again, this time slower, deeper—like he’s savoring you, like he’s tasting something he knows he’ll never get enough of. His hands tighten on your body, strong fingers splaying against your ribs, dragging up, up, up, until his thumbs are teasing along the sides of your breasts, just enough to make you arch into him.
A low groan rumbles from his chest, vibrating against your skin as he kisses you harder, as his tongue sweeps against yours in a kiss so deep it steals the breath right out of your lungs.
And then he’s moving, lifting you effortlessly from the couch like you weigh nothing, like you belong in his arms. His grip is strong—possessive—one hand on your thigh, the other curled around your back as he carries you across the room.
His lips never leave yours.
His kisses are slow now, teasing, dragging, pulling soft whimpers from your throat that he swallows like they belong to him.
He walks you straight to the bed, laying you down like you’re something precious, something breakable.
But you’re not breakable.
And when he starts to pull away, you don’t let him.
You grip his shirt, fisting the fabric, yanking him back down until he’s hovering over you, his body caging yours in. His breath is heavy, uneven, his eyes blown wide and desperate.
“You want to take your time?” you murmur, fingers toying with the buttons of his shirt, sliding them through the fabric one by one, teasing.
His jaw clenches.
“I’ve been waiting,” he says, voice low, rough. “For months.”
Your lips curl.
“So why are you still dressed?”
Something snaps.
Harry growls, yanking his shirt off in one swift motion before his hands are back on you, slipping under your dress, pushing the fabric up, exposing skin he’s been dying to touch.
“You think you’re in charge?” he mutters, mouth against your throat, kissing, nipping, dragging his tongue over the spot that makes you shiver.
A smirk plays at your lips.
“I know I am.”
His fingers tighten on your hips. “Not tonight.”
You don’t get the chance to respond before he’s got you flat on your back, hands gripping your wrists, pinning them above your head as he stares down at you, chest heaving.
And fuck, he’s beautiful like this.
Eyes dark, lips swollen, hair falling into his face, body hard and tense against yours.
“You drive me fucking crazy,” he murmurs, voice thick with need, his fingers tracing over the pulse point in your wrist.
“Good,” you whisper back.
His lips crash against yours again, hungrier this time, rougher.
He’s not just kissing you—he’s devouring you.
And you let him.
You moan into his mouth, rolling your hips up, grinding against the hardness pressing between your legs, and he hisses, his grip tightening.
“You’re fucking dangerous,” he groans, dropping his forehead against yours, his breath hot and ragged. “D’you have any idea what you do to me?”
You smile, slow and teasing, tilting your head, lips brushing against his jaw.
“Show me.”
He does.
His hands are everywhere—gripping, caressing, exploring.
He strips you slow, torturous, dragging the straps of your dress down your shoulders, pressing soft, lingering kisses to every inch of exposed skin.
“You’re perfect,” he breathes, his lips brushing over your collarbone, his hands palming your breasts, rolling your nipples between his fingers, making you gasp.
“Harry,” you whimper, arching into his touch, nails dragging down his back.
He groans, sucking a mark onto your skin, his tongue flicking over it, soothing, before he starts moving lower.
His mouth trails over your ribs, your stomach, his fingers sliding under the waistband of your panties, tugging them down slow, too slow.
“Tell me what you want,” he murmurs, lips brushing over the inside of your thigh.
You squirm beneath him, breath hitching. “You.”
His teeth graze your skin. “Be specific.”
You bite your lip, staring down at him, the way he’s kneeling between your legs, eyes dark and hungry, waiting.
You reach down, threading your fingers into his hair, tugging lightly. “I want your mouth.”
A smirk tugs at his lips.
“Good girl.”
And then his mouth is on you.
You gasp, head falling back against the pillows, fingers tightening in his hair as he licks, sucks, devours you like he’s starved.
It’s overwhelming.
It’s too much and not enough all at once.
His tongue moves slow, deliberate, teasing, and when you let out a breathy moan, he groans against you, gripping your thighs, holding you in place as he eats you like he’s trying to ruin you.
Like he’s claiming you.
Your thighs tremble around his head, pleasure building too fast, too strong, and he knows, because he presses his tongue against your clit, flicking, sucking, driving you insane.
“Harry—fuck—”
“Come for me,” he rasps against your skin, voice rough and commanding, his fingers digging into your thighs. “Come on, baby. Let me feel it.”
And you do.
You unravel beneath him, your body arching, pleasure washing over you in waves as you cry out his name, your fingers tight in his hair.
He works you through it, his mouth never leaving you, softening the strokes of his tongue until you’re panting, trembling beneath him.
Then he’s moving, crawling back up your body, kissing you deep, letting you taste yourself on his tongue as he pushes his hips against yours.
He’s hard, straining against his pants, and you reach down, palming him through the fabric, making him groan.
“Your turn,” you murmur, eyes dark, wicked.
His breath hitches.
You flip him over, straddling his hips, pinning his wrists to the bed, watching as his pupils dilate, his breath stuttering.
“You like that?” you tease, rolling your hips against him.
His jaw clenches. “You have no idea.”
You smirk. “Then let me show you.”
And you do.
You roll your hips against him, slow and deliberate, feeling the thick press of him still trapped beneath layers of fabric. His breath shudders, his fingers twitch where you’ve got them pinned, but you don’t let up. You grind down again, watching his jaw clench, the way his body tenses beneath you, all muscle and restraint.
“You like being underneath me?” you tease, dragging your nails lightly down his chest, tracing the hard lines of muscle, feeling the way his abs tense at your touch.
His eyes darken. “Don’t push me, love.”
You lean down, just enough for your lips to ghost over his, barely brushing, teasing, taunting. “Or what?”
His breath hitches. Then he growls.
A low, dangerous sound that sends heat pooling between your thighs.
He bucks his hips, trying to shift the power, but you press down harder, hands splaying over his chest, keeping him pinned.
“Fucking hell,” he grits out, head tipping back against the pillows. “You’re a tease.”
You smirk, rolling your hips again, slower this time. “And you love it.”
His hands flex against the sheets, his muscles straining beneath you like he’s dying to grab you, flip you, take back control. But he doesn’t. He lets you have it—for now.
“That’s it,” you murmur, leaning down, trailing soft, open-mouthed kisses over his throat, nipping lightly at his pulse point. “Be good for me.”
He groans, his fingers twitching, desperate to touch.
But you don’t let him.
You grab his wrists again, pressing them firmly into the mattress, locking him in place as you start moving properly, rocking against him, dragging the thick outline of his cock right against your soaked panties.
His breath shudders.
“Jesus fuck,” he rasps, eyes fluttering shut for a second, chest rising and falling with heavy, uneven breaths.
You roll your hips harder, the friction sending pleasure shooting through you, and when he lets out a strangled moan, you smile.
“Poor baby,” you coo, running your tongue along the shell of his ear. “Does it feel good?”
His jaw clenches so hard you think it might break.
“Y’think you’re in charge, hmm?” His voice is thick, rough, dangerous.
Your lips curl as you grind down again, harder this time. “I know I am.”
Something snaps.
In a blink, Harry moves.
One second, you’re in control—the next, you’re not.
With a low, feral growl, he rips his wrists free, grabbing your waist and flipping you onto your back so fast your breath catches. Before you can even react, he’s on you, pressing you into the mattress, his body heavy, his hands rough.
“You think you can tease me like that?” he murmurs, eyes dark and dangerous as he grabs your wrists, pinning them above your head.
You inhale sharply, shivering at the sudden shift, at the way he’s towering over you, at the raw hunger in his eyes.
“Maybe I wanted you to break,” you whisper, testing, teasing, pushing.
His grip tightens.
“Fucking hell, you’re a brat.”
You smirk. “And you love it.”
His lips crash against yours.
It’s rough, desperate, all tongue and teeth, like he’s punishing you, like he’s claiming you. You moan into his mouth, arching up, pressing your body to his, feeling the hard lines of him against your softness.
His hands are everywhere—gripping your waist, sliding down to your thighs, spreading you open beneath him as he grinds against you, letting you feel how much he wants this.
“Fuck,” he groans against your lips, rolling his hips harder, sending sparks of pleasure shooting through you. “You feel that, baby? Feel what you do to me?”
You whimper, nodding, your head spinning, body thrumming with heat.
“Use your words,” he murmurs, kissing down your neck, sucking hard at your pulse point, leaving marks. Claiming you.
“Yes,” you breathe, hands clutching at his back, nails digging in. “I feel it.”
“Yeah?” He pulls back just enough to look at you, eyes dark, dangerous. “You ready to stop playing, then?”
Your breath hitches.
You smirk. “Make me.”
His eyes flash.
“Oh, baby,” he murmurs, voice low, threatening. “You’re gonna regret that.”
His hand suddenly fists in your hair, tilting your head up just enough for his lips to hover over yours, breaths mingling, tension thick and electric.
“As much as I love watching you think you’re in charge,” he murmurs, his voice thick, deep, commanding, “I need to fuck you. Now.”
A shiver racks through you, but before you can respond, he moves.
In one swift motion, he flips you onto your stomach, pressing you down into the mattress, his hands everywhere—gripping your hips, running up your sides, ghosting over your ribs like he’s savoring every inch of you.
“My turn,” he breathes, dragging your wrists above your head, holding you still as his mouth finds your shoulder, pressing a slow, open-mouthed kiss to your heated skin.
You try to shift beneath him, to gain some control back, but his grip tightens, fingers wrapping around your wrists, pinning you down completely.
“Be good for me,” he murmurs against your skin, lips trailing down your back, teeth grazing over already-sensitive spots.
You whimper, squirming, desperate for more, but he takes his time, teasing, torturing, his touch featherlight as he drags his fingers down the curve of your spine, over the swell of your ass.
“You’re too fucking pretty like this,” he mutters, mostly to himself, squeezing your hips, dragging you back against him so you can feel exactly how hard he is. “Fuck, I’ve been waiting for this.”
Your breath stutters, body burning, every nerve alight with anticipation.
“Harry,” you whimper, rolling your hips back, silently begging. “Please.”
He groans, low and dark, his restraint snapping.
“Yeah?” he taunts, lips ghosting over your ear as he presses his chest to your back. “You ready for me, baby?”
You nod frantically, arching against him, needing, aching—
But he still makes you wait.
Dragging his hand between your thighs, he strokes you with maddening slowness, gathering your wetness on his fingers, groaning at how ready you are.
“Fuck,” he grits out. “Dripping for me already?”
You whimper, nodding. “Harry, please—”
Finally, finally, he aligns himself with you, pressing the thick head of his cock against your entrance, teasing, waiting—
“Look at me.”
His voice is commanding, leaving no room for argument.
You turn your head just enough to meet his gaze, your breath catching at the intensity in his eyes—dark, hungry, wild.
He watches you, waiting, holding you there in the moment, making sure you feel it before he gives you what you want.
And then—
He thrusts in.
A strangled moan rips from your throat as he fills you completely, stretching you open, deep and overwhelming.
A guttural groan rumbles from his chest as he buries himself inside you, his grip bruising on your hips, like he’s afraid you’ll slip away.
“Fuck. Fuck,” he grits out, his voice rough, ragged, vibrating against your skin. His head falls forward, his forehead resting against the nape of your neck, breath hot and uneven. “You’re so—shit, you’re so tight.”
You arch beneath him, back bowing, body tightening around him in response, overwhelmed by the stretch, the fullness of him inside you. It’s almost too much, the way he splits you apart, the way he holds you still, like he’s savoring the feeling, savoring you.
Your hands fist in the sheets, knuckles white as you try to ground yourself, try to keep from losing yourself completely.
He must sense it, the way your body trembles, because his grip softens, fingers splaying over your stomach as he kisses your shoulder, slow and tender.
“Breathe, baby,” he murmurs, voice strained but gentle. He noses along your skin, pressing his lips to the curve where your neck meets your shoulder. “I’ve got you.”
His free hand finds yours, threading his fingers through yours against the mattress, grounding you, anchoring you to him.
He stays there for a moment, letting you adjust, letting you feel every inch of him before he moves.
And then—
Then he ruins you.
The first thrust is slow, deliberate, pushing deep, making your breath hitch, making your fingers tighten around his.
Then another. And another. Each movement calculated, precise, dragging against every nerve ending inside you, pulling you closer to the edge with every roll of his hips.
His rhythm starts slow, deep—like he’s savoring the feeling of being buried inside you. Like he wants to take his time, to make you feel him, make you remember this.
But it doesn’t last.
The control snaps, his patience evaporating like steam off your overheated skin.
He growls, the sound primal, desperate, as his hands shift—one gripping your hip, the other pressing against the small of your back, keeping you in place as he pounds into you.
The bed shakes beneath you, every thrust sending ripples through your body, pleasure licking up your spine like fire.
“Fuck, you feel so good,” he groans against your mouth, his forehead pressing to yours, lips brushing but never quite kissing, too lost in the moment, too consumed by the way your body wraps around him.
You can barely breathe, barely think, all logic drowned out by the feeling of him inside you, stretching you, filling you, wrecking you.
You meet every thrust, grinding back against him, chasing your high, needing, aching—
He notices, because of course he does.
“Yeah?” he pants, voice rough, strained. “You want it, baby? Want me to fuck you like this?”
You nod frantically, gasping, moaning his name, nails digging into his forearm, marking him, branding him.
He growls at the sting, his hand tightening on your hip, holding you still as he drives into you, faster, harder, the sound of skin meeting skin echoing through the dimly lit room.
And then—
Then he shifts, pulling out just enough before slamming back in at a new angle, hitting deeper, stroking against that one spot that makes you see stars.
You cry out, arching, body tightening around him, pleasure slamming into you like a tidal wave.
His hand moves from your hip to your thigh, gripping, hitching it up, opening you wider, letting him sink in even deeper, making you feel every inch of him.
“That’s it,” he pants, lips brushing against your temple, damp with sweat. “That’s it, baby. Let go for me.”
His hand slides between your bodies, fingers finding your clit, rubbing in tight, desperate circles.
It’s too much. The pressure, the stretch, the overwhelming intensity of it all.
Your body locks up, toes curling, back arching as your orgasm hits, crashing over you in violent, shattering waves.
You tremble beneath him, gasping his name, clenching around him so tight that he lets out a broken moan, his movements stuttering, losing rhythm.
“Fuck, fuck—”
And then he’s gone, head tilting back, mouth falling open as he lets go, spilling into you with a guttural groan, his entire body tensing before he collapses on top of you.
The only sound in the room is your combined panting, heavy and uneven, the sheets tangled beneath you, bodies still pressed together, skin damp with sweat.
His lips ghost over your shoulder, pressing one last, lingering kiss there before he whispers, voice hoarse and spent—
“Mine.”
The word settles between you like a slow-burning flame, flickering, catching, spreading.
His breath is still uneven, chest rising and falling against yours, his weight a comforting anchor rather than something pressing you down. His arms stay locked around you, like he doesn’t want to let go, doesn’t plan to.
And for the first time, you don’t want him to.
You don’t move. You can’t move.
His fingers start tracing slow, lazy patterns along your spine, light and absentminded, like he’s memorizing the shape of you.
His touch isn’t just post-bliss reflex. It’s deliberate.
It’s different.
And you feel it.
You feel it in the way his body stays molded against yours, in the way his lips linger at your temple instead of pulling away, in the way he wants to stay close—like he’s afraid that if he lets go, you’ll disappear.
This was supposed to be an arrangement. A job. A transaction.
But the way he’s looking at you now?
It’s anything but.
You shift slightly beneath him, just enough to see his face, to meet those green eyes that are softer than they should be, searching yours, waiting.
And he knows.
Of course, he knows.
Harry’s always been able to read you better than you’d like.
His fingers drift up to your cheek, thumb brushing against the curve of your jaw, his touch gentle—so unfairly gentle for someone who just ruined you minutes ago.
You should get up.
You should remind him of the rules, of the terms, of the fact that this was never supposed to mean anything.
But the words won’t come.
Because the truth is—
You don’t want to leave.
You don’t want to pull away.
And that realization knocks the breath out of you faster than anything else ever could.
Harry’s eyes flicker down to your lips, back up to your eyes, something vulnerable creeping into his expression before he speaks.
"Tell me you feel it too."
His voice is low, careful, but there’s an edge of uncertainty underneath. Like he’s terrified of your answer.
Like he needs it.
You open your mouth, hesitate—because this is the moment. The moment where everything changes. The moment where you either run, or you jump.
And you jump.
You don’t answer him with words. You don’t have to.
Instead, you reach up, threading your fingers into his hair, pulling him down.
And you kiss him.
Not because you’re supposed to. Not because it’s part of the act.
But because you want to.
Because you don’t want this to be about the money anymore.
Because it isn’t.
Not anymore.

reverse dating tropes w hsr men!
in which — what the title suggests / those classic fanfic tropes but with a twist
featuring — boothill, jing yuan, blade (separately) x gn!reader
✧.* — wc: total 1.5k, used up half my brain for this (the other half is for pt2 w aven sunday geppie!!), lovesick boothill + clingy jy + jealous blade fr, anyway pls enjoy! reblogs r appreciated <3
gepard aven sunday vers here!
boothill ꩜ .ᐟ
love at many sights with boothill whose memory card was tinkered with, and every time you meet, he thinks he's seeing you for the first time, so he falls for you over and over again.
when boothill returned from a dangerous mission, it was evident that he had endured significant damage. his once sleek and polished exterior was now marred by dents and scratches, and his mechanical limbs were either partially missing or severely damaged. the exposed wiring, usually neatly tucked away beneath scraps of metals, now hung in tangled strands, sparking occasionally with residual energy.
he looked barely salvageable. it's safe to say that the mechanics had a hell of a time fixing him.
though they were skilled enough to piece him back together, his memory card wasn’t as lucky. a tinkering in his system left him incapable of recalling or retaining information in his synthetic brain, temporarily —leaving the mechanics scrambling to find a solution.
weeks later, you find yourself walking down the familiar corridors of the laboratory where your favourite cyborg is being held for reparation.
boothill’s eyes immediately land on yours when you enter the lab. “well ain’t this a surprise! haven’t seen ya in a good long while.” boothill drawls, tipping his hat your way, his voice carrying a metallic twang.
"i heard you took a bit of a tumble, figured someone should come make sure you didn’t lose all your screws." you shrug nonchalantly, a smirk playing on your lips.
boothill's eyes flicker for a moment, taking in the curve forming on your lips. he thinks you’re adorable with that infectious smile of yours.
“heh, nothin’ bad, just had a r-r-run in with some cuties" he says, failing to hide the glitch that caused his voice to stutter. (and that damn synesthesia beacon! he swears he’ll get it fixed this time around…)
“guess you took more than a tumble huh...” you lean casually against the workbench, the sterile scent of machinery and the hum of various devices filled the air; your gaze sweeps over the freshly repaired parts of boothill's metallic frame, “anyway, glad to see that you’re mostly fine now."
“aww! do ya care ‘bout me?” he teases, his grin widening, revealing his pointy teeth peeking out mischievously. you don’t reply, your eyes glinting with the faintest hint of amusement dancing in them.
"boothill, we go through this every time, your memory card's still damaged. you forget things sometimes, so for the 5th time this week, yes i do care about you.”
boothill's expression shifts, a mixture of realization and sheepishness crossing his features. "right, right," he murmurs, scratching the back of his head with his metallic hand. "sorry 'bout that, sugar. guess i just keep forgettin'."
you chuckle and shake your head, finding the situation amusing. he feels like he might overheat from the sheer warmth radiating from your smile.
“you’re beautiful, date me.” (he didn’t mean to blurt that outloud)
you raise your eyebrows at the sudden compliment, “why thank you,” a surprised laugh escapes your lips.
“—and we’re already dating, silly.”
a shower of sparks erupts from his circuits, you can particularly hear the fans inside him sputter and whir. you rush to his side, concern etched on your face.
“wh- are you okay?! you’re short circuiting again!”
and this happens every time his memory lapses. you offer an apology to the mechanic on the next shift for the extra work required to fix yet another damaged wire after your visits. perhaps they should ban you from getting too close to boothill, lest he completely breaks down again like that one time where you told him, yes you actually kissed before.
jing yuan ୭ ˚.
"secret relationship" with jing yuan but he is completely unaware of how his public displays of affection towards you keep revealing the supposed secrecy of your relationship.
on the rare case that the general is found in his office, you are there too, beside him.
“pleeeease? just one kiss, really really miss you, darling”
“no jing yuan, not now…”
he wraps his arms around you as he leans in, caging you from the back. he rests his chin on your shoulder, “then how about a kiss on the cheeks?” he murmurs in your ear. you try to push him away, but he just chuckles softly against your neck, his arms still secure around you.
“no, and get off me before someone sees!” you protest, feeling your face flush from the close proximity, and the tightening of his arms suggests that he has no intention of releasing you just yet.
this stubborn man… you swear you’re gonna burst a blood vessel someday.
as if to echo your exasperation; he nuzzles his head into the crook of your neck, peppering it with nibbles and gentle kisses. jing yuan certainly knows how to test your limits, yet his affectionate gestures never fail to chip away at your resolve.
suddenly, a series of loud knocks come from the door, you freeze, and immediately attempt to wiggle your way out of his grasp. but he remains unfazed, his hold on you firm, and seemingly unbothered by the interruption.
the door bursts open, “general! there’s a situation at starskiff ha—ven...” yanqing trails off as his eyes widen at your position. the room falls into a momentary silence as yanqing's gaze shifts between you and his general, his expression reflecting a blend of shock and embarrassment.
clearing his throat awkwardly, yanqing stammers, "i-im sorry for interrupting... i’ll t-take my leave now!” with a hurried nod, he practically sprints out of the room.
oh bless that kid’s poor eyes…
you shoot a glare at jing yuan from the corner of your eyes, you just know that he has a shit eating grin on his face right now. nowadays, it’s probably common knowledge that the general’s most treasured person is you, evidently shown by how he latches himself onto you every time you’re within his vicinity. you wouldn’t be surprised if the entirety of xianzhou knows about your supposed “secret” relationship.
“so… can i have my kiss now?”
aeons, he’s insufferable. (you love him tho!!!!!)
blade ؛ ଓ
"fake dating" with blade but you are actually dating —somehow everyone is convinced you aren't.
“blink twice if you need help.” march whispers-shout; dan heng leans against the doorway, blocking the way into your room, nods in agreement.
“this is absurd… i’m alright guys, really!” you try to reassure your friends, frustration edging into your voice. though no matter how many times you insist that no blade isn't holding you hostage and that you are indeed in a relationship with him, they seem convinced otherwise, somehow deducing that you're not able to speak freely.
you sigh in resignation, knowing that they aren’t going to relent anytime soon, and with blade idling in your room, you can't afford to keep him waiting any longer. “dan heng please, let me through, he’s been waiting for me for the past 10 minutes now…”
“good, let him wait.” dan heng responds curtly. (what a guy)
march takes hold of your hands, “do you owe the stellaron hunters something, and him out of everyone?! he looks scary…and totally not your type!”
“not their type?” a low voice rings out from behind dan heng, the three of you turn immediately and see blade looming at your doorway, his arms crossed over his chest.
“stellaron hunter. stay back.” dan heng furrows his eyebrows, his stance defensive as he pulls out his weapon, positioning himself to block you and march. sensing the growing tension, you step forward, reaching out to gently grasp at dan heng’s shoulder.
(blade’s expression darkens at your hand resting on him)
“it’s okay dan heng, he means no harm.” dan heng hesitates, his grip on his weapon remains tight, but he doesn't move to strike. so you slowly move between him and blade, “see? i’m fine… he’s not gonna hurt me.” you smile reassuringly at your friends.
just then, as if to further aggravate dan heng, blade settles his hand on your waist. dan heng’s hand is visibly twitching now. “what? can’t i touch what’s mine?”
dan heng’s eyes narrow, “...we still don’t believe you, leave now. before it’s too late.”
before you can interject, blade grabs your chin, silencing any words of protest with a sudden kiss. caught off guard, your eyes widen as the unexpected gesture leaves you momentarily stunned. but you soon reciprocate his kiss, his intensity drawing you in.
(march quickly covers her eyes with her hands)
“there. now leave us alone.” and with that, he pulls you into your room, slamming the door shut behind, pinning you against it.
it’s just the both of you now, finally.
“did you really have to touch him.” his voice tinged with possessiveness. “blade, he would’ve hurt you, i didn’t mean—” he shuts you up with another kiss, more desperate this time, welp guess you’re stuck with him for the night.
though your friends might not believe that a person like you would “be in cahoots” with someone as dangerous as him; convincing them otherwise is a task for another time. tonight, he wants your attention focused solely on him, and him only.

Cold!reader who defends Spencer when’s someone’s making fun of his autistic traits, and the teams like “what?????”
STAGNANT — SPENCER REID!
why would someone ask spencer a question if they didn’t want to hear the answer?
late s8!spencer x cold!reader 1.2k fluff? cold!reader masterlist.
main masterlist.
a/n — the cold!reader roster i have atm has me kicking my feet and twirling my hair, stay tuned
You step into the cramped precinct in a town that barely makes the map, the smell of stale coffee and old paper immediately hitting you.
The air hums with tension—murder cases tend to have that effect on a room. Your team disperses, each member diving into their respective tasks like clockwork.
You stay near Spencer, keeping an eye on the board he’s already scouring, his sharp mind undoubtedly miles ahead of everyone else’s.
It doesn’t take long for the local officers to start asking questions. You’ve seen it before: their curiosity morphing into disbelief as they’re confronted with Spencer Reid in full form.
This particular case involves a peculiar type of soil found on the victim’s shoes, and when one officer, a grizzled man named Officer Moore, offhandedly asks about its significance, Spencer lights up.
“It’s fascinating, actually,” he begins, his voice picking up with enthusiasm. “The soil contains traces of montmorillonite clay, which is common in areas with volcanic ash deposits. This specific type is unique to the western side of the county, and based on the composition—” He gestures to the samples bagged on the table, oblivious to the officer’s quickly fading interest.
Spencer continues, lost in his explanation, his words flowing like water over smooth stones. You watch the officer shift uncomfortably, his expression hardening into impatience. The moment Spencer pauses to breathe, Moore cuts in, looking at you with a smirk.
“Is he like this all the time? Never shuts up, huh?”
You freeze. The room, bustling moments ago, seems quieter now. Your team is too far off to hear, but you’re right here. Close enough to feel the sting of the comment.
Spencer doesn’t notice. Or maybe he pretends not to. Either way, it doesn’t sit right with you. The dismissive tone, the condescension dripping from the officer’s words—it sparks a heat under your skin that you don’t bother to hide.
“Are you stupid?” Your voice is sharp, like a knife scraping metal. Moore’s smug expression falters.
“Excuse me-?”
“You heard me,” you continue, stepping closer, your gaze fixed on him. “If you can’t keep up with what Dr. Reid is saying, that’s your problem. He’s giving you answers—solutions—that you clearly wouldn’t find on your own. So maybe try listening instead of running your mouth.”
Moore blinks, taken aback. His hand hovers near the cup of coffee on the table, forgotten. “I didn’t mean—”
“Yeah, you did.” you interrupt, crossing your arms. “And for the record, if he’s too much for you to handle, then stay out of his way, you’ll murk his IQ into single digits.”
The room is quiet now, the subtle hum of computers and distant voices the only sound. Spencer finally looks up, his expression unreadable. There’s a hint of surprise in his eyes, but mostly he just seems... confused.
Moore mutters something under his breath and stalks off, clearly not willing to press the issue further. Good. You watch him go, your blood still simmering.
“You didn’t have to do that,” Spencer says softly, his voice carrying a note of uncertainty.
“Yes, I did,” you reply without hesitation. “He was being a jerk.”
Spencer tilts his head, studying you. “People say things like that all the time.”
“Well, they shouldn’t,” you counter, your tone firm. “And if you wont put your foot down about it then I will.”
For a moment, he just stares at you, as if trying to decipher some hidden code in your words. Then, unexpectedly, he smiles—small and fleeting, but genuine. It feels like a victory, however minor.
—
Later, when the team regroups, the tension in the precinct has eased, though you can still feel a few lingering stares from the local officers.
Hotch gives you all the rundown of the next steps, his voice steady and commanding as always. You nod along, but your focus drifts to Spencer, who’s scribbling something in his notebook, seemingly unbothered by the earlier incident.
As the team breaks off to get to work, Emily sidles up beside you, her dark eyes alight with curiosity. “So,” she begins, drawing out the word. “What was that about?”
“What was what about?” you reply, feigning ignorance.
“That little showdown with Officer Grumpy Pants earlier,” she says, smirking. “Word has it you tore him a new one,”
You shrug. “He was being disrespectful.”
Emily raises an eyebrow. “To Reid?”
“To all of us, honestly,” you say. “But yeah, mostly Reid. He didn’t deserve that.”
Emily studies you for a moment, her smirk softening into something more thoughtful. “Awe how sweet,”
“Don’t start,” you warn, but there’s no real bite to your words. Emily laughs, raising her hands in mock surrender.
“Hey, no judgment,” she says. “It’s just... very human of you.”
“I’m not a robot.”
She gestures vaguely toward you. “Oh hush you know what I mean,”
You roll your eyes but don’t bother arguing. Instead, you glance across the room at Spencer, who’s now deep in conversation with JJ and Rossi. The earlier exchange seems to have rolled off him, as if it never happened.
But you know better. You’ve seen the way comments like that stick, the way they fester in that moment f hesitation before he speaks. You’re not sure why it matters so much to you—why he matters so much—but you don’t dwell on it.
—
The case drags on into the evening, the pieces of the puzzle slowly falling into place. By the time the unsub is in custody and the team is preparing to head back to the jet, exhaustion hangs heavy in the air.
As you gather your things, Morgan claps a hand on your shoulder. “Hey, Ice Queen,” he says, his tone teasing. “You did good.”
“Thank you? I was doing my job.” you reply, shooting him a bemused look.
He chuckles. “Not with the case, sweetness. Word is you went full gladiator on one of the locals earlier.”
“Word travels way too fast in this team,” you mutter.
Morgan grins. “What can I say? We’re a nosy bunch. But it’s nice to know you haven’t lost your bite now you’re saddled up to boy wonder.”
He gestures with his head towards where Spencer was sleeping on the jet’s couch, wrapped in a cheap blanket like baby.
You fight back the urge to smile.
“I never changed,” you say dryly.
Morgan laughs, but there’s a glimmer of respect in his eyes. “Sure you did,”
“No I didn’t,”
He nudges your shoulder, a whisper of “You’ll admit it one day,” before he walks off.
