The cult of...Danny Fenton?

So! Way back when Danny first moved into his new neighborhood in Gotham, he had some trouble controlling his Powers. The different Types and Levels of Ectoplasm in the air when compared to Amity had thrown off his control.

He was used to being in places where his Ectoplasm meshed well with the Atmosphere, like a Water Balloon in a Pool, but in Gotham that analogy would be closer to a Water Balloon in the sewers. It was too different from what he was used to to fully control his Powers.

So it's understandable that he messed up a few times and his neighbors found out about his Abilities.

They took it well at first, Danny wasn't going to go Rogues or anything, and he never used them maliciously, but eventually they got curious.

They asked what his limits were, how he got them in the first place, and what the hell the Ghost Zone was. The answers "None Really", "I died and was reborn", and "A Collective of every Afterlife at once" did spark some interesting reactions from them.

Most importantly, a few of them joked about him being an Eldritch God that they needed to worship. He was good enough friends with them that at that point they felt comfortable pranking eachother, so they did just that.

Danny woke up one day on his birthday, and saw all of his friends and neighbors surrounding the makeshift Throne they had made and put him on while he was asleep. The entire day they chanted stuff like "The Great One requires Ms. Smiths Apple Pie for his day of birth!" And "The Great One Wishes for us to sing the Ritual Song! Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birth-"

After his birthday, they kept up the joke.

It didn't help that his powers had evolved Again! And now he could bestow abilities onto his friends. The jokes they made about their God granting them Supernatural Powers to rule the world with were insufferable.

Then, one day while he was just resting at home, watching a movie on his TV, he felt a Pull at his Core. The same kind of Pull whenever he was being summoned. But why would they summon hi- Oh Shit! It's Mr Jenkins Party today! He was supposed to meet them at the Warehouse they used for special events an Hour Ago!

He quickly accepted the Summoning, but was met with a suprising sight. His Neighbors all tied up in a pile to his right, a spilled table of party food to his left, and right in front of him, Batman and his Family watching him with wary eyes.

Slowly, he opened his mouth. "...so, did you come for the party or..."

it's a good thing conclave didn't waste any time on making the stories about catholic orders and their in-fighting. and probably i shouldn't either because i am not informed enough about it to go on at length. pls take all of this w a grain of salt.

but i know in my heart of hearts that aldo bellini is a progressive liberal jesuit, the holy father's specialest most progressive liberal italian-american jesuit.

look at him. look at his glasses. those are the glasses of a man who did his dissertation on reinterpreting loyola through a contemporary reformist lens. academic wunderkid. has sooo much beef w the editors of american jesuit weekly. possibly the events of conclave are occurring in a better more beautiful world where aldo bellini is the editor of american jesuit weekly.

the late holy father for sure was a progressive jesuit also. vr pope francis coded. and low-key set him up as a successor. for a while, that seemed nearly a sure thing in some circles.

but there is the fact. well. the fact that everyone is tired, done and tired of jesuits, progressive or otherwise.

this among other factors meant he couldn't consider him the best option, besides whatever character judgement and uncanny machievallien prediction he came up with.

adeyemi has that benedictine swag which makes his potential election particularly seem like a breath of fresh air + reliable + lots of influence. tremblay is giving dominican drip and dominican corruption. and dominican flop. his nespresso machine? it's giving dominican also.

tedesco has to be an italian-founded order member. most hypocrital salesian of all times maybe?? this is unrelated to the fact that i was nearly enrolled in a salesian primary school and the weirdly panopticon-ish playground didn't pass the vibe check. and also because: consider tedesco rising in the ranks of an order created to help migrant workers...someone kick him in the head for me pls.

who even knows about benítez. i want to say franciscan but that might be just too on the nose. cistercian?? honestly it would work well if he is also without affiliation.

this lens does make lawrence's homily being interpreted as a campaign speech more understandable (and particularly funny).

because, as far as anyone can tell, he's fully running as an independent candidate. zero platform besides - if i fuck up i'll apologize and do better and be held accountable, which is more than any of you probably would.

and because he stands alone, he can be held accountable. he can belong to all, and not one faction only. as far as anyone can tell, he's burning bridges with bellini and rocking the status quo.

he is speaking to/from a place of frustration with institutional inertia and factionalism, he is using his position as dean to bravely promote a platform for internal change in the curia, he is offering doubt as an alternative to certainty, he is pulling an absolute wildcard move.

pity he didn't mean it.

pity the the only order lawrence is interested in joining is the most hardcore discalced carmelite experience possible.

you know how some people look into luxurious real estate listings like it's porn? that's lawrence w tiny monasteries. the sort of minuscule organization with not enough people for management to be necessary. too small for politics. as close to erasure as you can get in this world: no need to be useful.

serving god by existing only to meditate on him. a narrow slant of a life, at that. barely taking up space, barely casting a shadow.

his favorite is a decrepit wreck of a place in the middle of southern spain, nowhere. no wifi no speaking aloud no possessions. no shoes no food. no nothing, only prayer. and a big big sky overhead.

maybe that will fix his issues with reaching god. if that doesn't work he'll probably just wander into the tabernas desert and become an hermit. works for some people, supposedly; plenty of order founders seem to believe so, anyway.

I can’t even enjoy Bix killing Gorst because it was such a rushed abrupt sequence that felt like one of Bix’s dreams or maybe a drugged-out fantasy. I kept waiting for her to wake up, but then the episode just ended with her and Cassian walking away from an explosion like this was a Mission Impossible movie and it just felt so unsatisfying and hollow as if they just wanted to get it out of the way, which is a massive injustice to Bix’s character. Especially after she spent the vast majority of the three episode arc stuck alone losing her mind cooped up in a tiny apartment and doing drugs while yet fucking again waiting for Cassian to come home. I expected so much more.

one thing about being in too much pain to uphold social niceties (period and it's a bad one) is that i did spend all day at work not only doubled over and moving at a pace the ninety year old library ladies were lapping but i was even worse than usual at tasks like Looking At People Who Are Chewing Gum and "not edging away bugeyed when a coworker stands close next to me" and of course the perennial favorite "keeping track of more than three words spoken to me in a row and responding to that" and we'll let me merely say. it is just me and that murderbot. nobody else in this whole damn library understands

These are a couple of recent Harumasas but I had a sudden urge to draw my own take on the reader bc someone else in your inbox had!!!

This was me trying to figure out what they would look like, which wasn't too hard bc Section Six already has a pretty established aesthetic, plus since the mc takes after Yanagi, I figured they would also have a more put together look, yeah?? And.. I really wanted to make them a thiren.. just bc. I did consider going with a wolf for a while because of the symbiotic relationship wolves + crows (Harumasa) have, but decided to go with an owl!! Specifically. This fella. (Ryukyu Owl)

Since Harumasa and the mc already have several scenes in ur writing depicting them as each other's sun and moon, I thought that an owl thiren could fit :] Especially because owls tend to be more reserved, and that's how I view the mc! (Also owls are just cute to me lmao) I feel as though physical touch and personal space is kinda a Big Thing for the mc, which is just made more obvious by having the upkeep of feathers/preening represent that. That, and I think Harumasa would actually have some fun picking apart their mannerisms and quirks!! (and maybe be disappointed to learn that their wings can't support flight..)

^^ He's definitely done silly stuff like seeing how their eyes shrink and expand.. half to make them loosen up their serious disposition and half to just.. have fun. Be a troll.

(^^grgrgrhhe they're so silly to me) But still, it's just.. hmhmmrmrm I really like the idea of them gradually becoming so comfortable in each other's personal space, but never verbally saying what it means to them. Like they would definitely invite him to help them clean their feathers, and it's just the two of them chilling on the bed for an hour or two. There's long, comfortable silence with small conversations that spark in and out, and they both appreciate it!! They like it!! The two of them just can't think about it too hard bc of the Repercussions of Deep Care.

harumasa is so cute in your style! im so impressed with how silly his expressions are and i like the lines you draw under the eyes :3 the body proportions/anatomy is also impressive and you simplified his outfit while still retaining all the distinct features of it!

READER IS ALSO SO CUTE OMG??? i love how they're an owl thiren and how their hair is feathers! the hair clips are also a cute touch <3 the hips wings are so cool and like how one sleeve is pulled back... it really captures the zzz tendency to have the design be asymmetrical while still matching with the rest of section six!!! also harumasa and reader being sun/moon for each other and owls being associated with the night... thats absolute cinema...!!!

i also really like the idea of harumasa picking up reader's mannerisms and noting any habits they have that are similar to owl habits (and he has 100% asked if they could pick him up and fly him somewhere when he doesn't want to walk there lol...) harumasa teasing them and doing silly things to mess with reader is so cute... i love how you draw chibis and the way you can only see reader's eyes in the darkness!! so silly and expressive... i know reader has made that same annoyed expression at him 100 times before...

also aw the way harumasa pinches reader's face is so so so cute. the way he's all smug about it and reader is just letting him do it... they care about each other sm. also the notes about them never verbalizing their feelings but taking care of each other is 100% real and true, especially since i imagine reader doesn't let just anyone touch their feathers... preening as a bonding action is so good...

ALSO the last two pictures of harumasa, and harumasa with reader? so, so good!! he looks so silly and i love how when reader gets embarrassed at his proximity, he backs off and looks more embarrassed himself LOL. 100% he is the one who gets more into his head despite seemingly being the more forward one...

Emmerson looks up. Seems to need a second. “Oh, uh. Yeah. I--”

They're interrupted by Gerrard barking at them to stop dilly-dallying and do your damn job and they share an exasperated look. As Tommy gets on the ladder ahead of Emmerson, he can't help but notice in passing that he looks tired. He also seems more distracted lately, and their captain has noticed as well, if the uptick in Gerrard's reminders that Emmerson is still a probationary firefighter are anything to go by.

Tommy makes a mental note to ask how he's doing, after.
