Since their introduction, so many of us have been trying to find the theme and metaphor of World Hater as our primary antagonist. Is is hunter v prey? Hunter v farmer? Life v death? I love all of theories and I'm inclined to believe all of them are true in one way or another, and I'm excited to see what we lean into as the story continues

Now I'm leaning more towards the circle of life. Ichi embraces the cycle. He kills only to survive, and he knows someday it will be his turn to be killed for something else to survive. What we've seen of the witches works this way too: they aquire and aquire until they fail, and when they die their majiks return to the ecosystem to be acquired again.

But World Hater breaks the cycle. They are not life until death until life. They are obliteration. They are entropy. And, as of now, I think our thematic core is that they will need to be hunted to be put back into their place in the cycle.

Hi, this is a stupid ask, but do you (or any of your mutuals/followers) know of any TLT discords or anything for fans of color? I genuinely can't state without risking hyperbole how I literally felt more comfortable defending racebending in SFF TV shows on Reddit than I do hearing people discuss John or Kiriona--even when they bring up Wake, it's always as a throwaway, as a "See, I like this indigenous woman, too," as if her being a buff gun-toting indigenous woman who can stand toe to toe against the Nine Houses' best swordfighter with a fucking billy club and who formed an enduring revolutionary movement against a necromantic empire so powerful it went millennia without losing a ship isn't like the most interesting thing in the world. Everyone else is afraid to speak on this double standard for fear of 'starting drama,' meanwhile you have fans of color deactivating, deleting their art, or not posting in the tags because they get bullied, its mind-boggling.

I'm sorry, I don't know of any such server, but I do understand your feelings and see the need for one.

after nth rereading of ‘the yet unknowing world’ by ark

I am, on my surface, a species of prude. my shock is mostly directed at my own desires; I don’t care much about what others like or do, but the learned recoil (standard religious trauma) has disconnected me from my own depths for a long time.

Underneath that brittle surface I long to be Aziraphale, openly savoring the complexities of whatever he prizes. I shied away from knowing this truth about myself, until some life changes and watching S1.

With that context in mind, this fic helped. Helped me pick my own lock, one could say.

So in case that experience would help someone else, I wanted to share. Highly recommended. not safe for most kinds of work.
