Trump Has Skipped All but 12 of His Daily Intelligence Briefings

Donald Trump has been president (for the second time) for more than 100 days. In that time, he has reportedly shown a troubling lack of regard for his daily intelligence briefings.

Trump has reportedly sat for just 12 “daily” briefings since his second term began in January—an eyebrow-raising drop from the already infrequent schedule of his first time in office, POLITICO reports.

okay but i just want to say that an aroace reading of piper makes her clinging to buddhism/wanting to be a buddhist that much more interesting and sad to me: that she could have seen buddhism as a safe space for her to be aromantic and asexual without being questioned or judged. she's in a can't win scenario back home where she's seen as broken/snobby/prudish for not having sex or being in a relationship, but would be just as judged if she did have an average libido, so finding solace in a religion that views lust as a hurdle to overcome might be comforting to her--like she's already proven herself as being legitimate in that specific way.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s intelligence chief is exploring ways to revamp his routine intelligence briefing in order to build his trust in the material and make it more aligned with how he likes to consume information, according to five people with direct knowledge of the discussions.

As part of that effort, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard has solicited ideas from current and former intelligence officials about steps she could take to tailor the briefing, known as the President’s Daily Brief, or PDB, to Trump’s policy interests and habits.

After a good couple of years without, I now at last have a PC again; nothing super fast or expensive - it's a refurbished unit, even - but hopefully something I can make use of. After a few hiccups, a number of frustrations (at least one of them self-inflicted, I confess) and a good deal of profanity, I was able to get things set up and get my ass online.

Print screen is such a wonderful function, and far more immediate than trying to take a screenshot with my phone, which can get positively infuriating when you want to capture a very particular pose. No more. 😁

It also gave me the opportunity to create a new image of this in-chat animation, the look in her eyes always absolutely melts me! 🥰🫠🥰

Animals don't think the way humans do, and they don't need to!

My favorite example of this comes from the study of beavers. A recurrent belief was that beavers must have some advanced understanding of engineering to build such stable dams. This was until the 1980s, when Finnish scientists played the sound of running water in a field near a beaver pond. Obviously, the sound was coming from a box on dry land, but beavers still covered the tape player with sticks and mud until they couldn't hear it any more. Instead of needing human-level intelligence, beavers just evolved to detest the sound of running water.
