i know the 'i liked [insert popular artist/work] before it was popular' person is unbearable but also. i am that person and i do hate when something i love becomes popular like the straight people i went to school with & the cruelest people I've ever known do NOT get to like ethel cain & chappell roan like i like them they are both too brilliant

#like sorry but the commodification of queer identity that happens when a queer artist lands in the public eye #or i shoudl say the way their identity is boiled down & their art & actions to it as well like uh KILL YRSELF!!! YOUDONT GET THEM #YOU JUST DONT!! like give them your money their art deserves it & yet. & yet. hatred #chappell use of drag & camp & PERORMANCE LIKE SORRY I UMMM DO NOT LIKE HOW TEH STRAIGHT GIRLIES #& TIKTOK GAYS ARE ENJOYING IT!! like. idk. i know im critical as hell and a huge hater #but it feels like these fans are towing the line of 'enjoyment of an original performance' with 'spectacle because the artist #is doing something culterally BAD so its interesting' as if that isnt. the whole point. the question why u think it's rebellious #or bad .....but whatever ill get more sleep and still b a hater but maybe at least ill b quiet abt it
